Fantastic experience: My first time back in the gym in a few years I like going in the early hours so iv got the hole gym to myself. It was great it has everything you could need. I would definitely recommend it to anyone

Fantastic experience: I have been using this gym for the last 12 months and really enjoy the facility. There are enough machines over two floors, which means you are not waiting around for use of machines. The gym is clean and tidy and is kept on top of by Nikki who is constantly cleaning and tidying the facility and replenishing the fridges. I find her very approachable and friendly. She speaks with myself and all customers using their first names which means a lot and gives the gym and customers the feel of a more personal touch. Having worked as a PT in quite a few gyms, I find Real Gym a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere than most of the ones I have worked in. Keep up the fantastic work and customer experience. Daz

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars then I would. Where do I start? Firstly, I’m a powerlifter. I use liquid chalk because it’s much less messy than powdered chalk. And one wipe and it’s gone, easy peasy. It states no where in the gym or in the policy that chalk isn’t allowed to be used in the gym. The woman that works there is quite rude not just to myself but to others I know that go to this gym too have had negative experiences with her. This is how the conversation went… “are you the one always using chalk?!” “Yes I use it sometimes why?” “Because you’re not allowed to use it, it’s against the gyms policy” “oh sorry I didn’t see that anywhere, but I need to use it for my lifts. Why am I not allowed to use it?” “Because I have to clean the weights after, it gets them dirty” “well what if I just clean the weights myself after I use it” “no! Because then other people will see you using it and think it’s okay for them to” “oh okay” I wish I would’ve said you have to clean the weights anyway! That’s your job. Would you rather my clammy sweaty hands be all over the weights instead that you still have to clean?! I’m extremely disappointed with the way she spoke to me, it was extremely passive aggressive and condescending. And to talk to a new customer like that is beyond unprofessional. I’ve only just moved to the area and this was the closest gym to me. Some of the other problems I’ll list off is the lack of heating, I can see my own breath when I’m working out and I can barely grip anything my hands are so numb. Another is the fact that there are only two squat racks and about a million of the same chest and back machines. Another is that there is no where to grab a bench and move it to in order to do barbell hip thrusts. All the machines are so close together you have to squeeze through sideways, you’re basically in someone’s face when you’re working out on the machines next to each other. One of the machines also seems to have some sort of a bodged fix with a bike brake lever! Also the studio where they hold classes smells so bad! And another thing, only 4 tiny lockers?! As well as no water fountain to fill up your bottle. Most important though, fix your staffs attitude or get new staff!

Fantastic experience: Absolute hidden gym, great range of equipment, everything clean. Decent music and only a £5 a day pass. Well worth a visit

Fantastic experience: Clean, friendly gym. Approachable and knowledgeable staff. Fantastic equipment and very recently been expanded and added another floor level of even more gym equipment! No contracts, very affordable and membership also includes all classes. Open 24/7, no excuse to miss my workout!

Fantastic experience: Been going here for 8 months. They’ve recently opened a second floor and there’s a separate area for classes or general use such as stretching/kettlebells. Friendly gym at a really good price as it never gets too crowded and there’s lots to chose from, especially the weights, the variety is brilliant. Deffo recommend.

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend this gym and the staff especially Karen. So supportive as well as informative. I was nervous and she instantly put me at ease. I’ve been to other gyms in the past and found they made me more self conscious, the atmosphere here is the complete opposite and I can not wait to continue my journey to a healthier me all thanks to Karen and Real Gym ! :-)

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, attend the morning classes as well as train on my own. All the staff are super helpful and its just a nice environment to train in. It holds all the equipment that any advanced trainer requires. Big 5 stars frome me!

Negative experience: Terrible parking nails and rubbish all over the place and just a load of dated equipment dressed up to the brands colour scheme, I got barred my the manager just for suggesting they pay for a new tyre that staff admitted was there fault after investigating the bin area Plenty of better places in Rossendale like Thrive that is brand new and offers no contract deals and very clean aswell

Fantastic experience: Never been a fan of gyms as I always feel uncomfortable, but Real Gym makes me feel comfortable everyone is so welcoming, Love the fact that it’s 24/7 and such a clean environment with all the equipment that you need, Also if you’re looking for a PT Karen is the one to go to, pushed me to my limits and helped me reach my goal

Negative experience: Just all the old equipment re painted and with more classes, no drinks machines either considering it's a 24 hour place you would expect that

Negative experience: I never new how much of a hassle it takes to actually cancel a gym membership, it’s ridiculous!! I signed up to gym24 when it first opened and I was paying for two memberships. I’ve had a change in circumstance and it prevented me from going anywhere near the gym at all. I thought it was pointless to keep paying if I’m not going, so I tried contacting the gym to inform them that I want to revoke the memberships I was paying for. I was Emailing back and forth to then be told about their ‘30 days policy’ that I was never ever told about. Baring in mind when I’ve had to cancel my membership from the gym before, it was done on the spot and no payments were took out. Gym24 are not even charging me for the month that I’ve attended, they’re charging for the upcoming month which is even more weird to me. I’ve now paid 3 months worth for absolutely no reason because they were making it so hard to cancel a membership. On top of that, there was no reassurance that it’ll be cancelled for definite, all I got told was “we’ll just leave a note on your account to say that you don’t wanna pay anymore”…yeah, good one [Reply] - Okay and I understand your policy, but after what? I was never told about no cancellations policy whatsoever and was actually told I can cancel at anytime, yet here I’m being told that they will cancel my membership AFTER they charge me for another month’s membership that I will not be using?? It’s very stupid and is actually a fault on your staffs behalf and not mine!!
