Negative experience: Very unhygienic nobody cleans equipment at all there. Was a lovely cleaning lady who was a star and did her job brill but the members are so unhygienic

Fantastic experience: Return to the gym following a year not training. This place was lovely. Comfortable clean and friendly. Nice and airy. Induction was friendly knowledgable and made the experience less stressful than imagined. Glad I joined - excited to recommence training

Fantastic experience: clean gym. I personally didnt see anything unclean , plenty of sprays to use to clean machines after use you just have look or ask . Two male members in the gym on the day i went very helpful and friendly. Very clean in the women's toilets and I noticed shower area is clean. Hairdressers also there to use if u wish. I did visit after 1pm. Wasn't busy to me i have been in over busy gyms .all spaced out and appears friendly to me . I like the space and atmosphere in this gym so far so good . It's family friendly gym

Fantastic experience: Lovely large gym which is always clean and tidy, I am a mum who goes with her daughter a few times a week and we never feel intimidated going there as everyone is friendly and it is easy to get advice if you need it. Lots of drinks and snack machines if needed, level of background music not too loud either We pay each pay £23.99 a month to use it any time of the day or night as it is open 24/7 which is really useful

Positive experience: Good selection of equipment. Not too busy in the morning hours. Showers and toilets in very bad condition. Usually filthy, smelly and clogged.

Positive experience: You can't go to wrong with puregym all of them has pretty much the same kit in it and Torquay is no different it has 24/7 access the the gym itself is great! I only trained in the mornings so didn't see many of the PTs, the female changing rooms though is where they let themselves down the toilets clearly haven't been cleaned in at least 48hrs despite seeing a cleaner wondering around the it's clear by some of the stains on the floor it hasn't been moped in way longer then 48hrs

Negative experience: Changing rooms smell and aren't clean. Some kids was messing about I alerted the staff they just left them to it annoying when you are trying to work out!

Fantastic experience: Loved the new Zumba class that was instructor led by Eve. It was challenging but she made it so much fun !!! can't wait to be challenged on a weekly basis or even a couple of classes per week

Negative experience: I like the place, it’s very roomy nice and modern. Gym offers large selection of classes for everyone at various times to choose from. In general not bad for a chain gym for 20£ a month. Ladies changing room stink like sewer pipe. They definitely have some plumbing issues. Gym is utterly overcrowded, attempting has only sense between 10pm and 5am. Outside this hours you will wait more for the equipment than exercise. And the weirdest thing is they still take more and more people. Madness

Fantastic experience: amazing facility friendly staff and clean and presentable areas.

Positive experience: Good equipment and good selection of classes to join... however...ladies changing rooms smells like sewage almost all the time, cleaning stations are very often empty, and some instructors don't know how to use some of the equipment properly (that's very worrying).

Fantastic experience: The best gym I have seen till date, good parking space, cleanest gym, all the equipments are working well, all the facilities we need and most of all the people who come there are very polite.

Fantastic experience: Puregym at Bridge Retail Park in Torquay is a modern, well equipped gym with various areas dedicated to different routines. The only machine I am missing is the seated leg curl machine, but easy enough to use one of the many cable machines instead. Two floors with cycles, two types of steppers, rowers treadmills, studios, and even a digital studio with a selection of prerecorded workout choices. The gym is 24/7 with easy access for a very reasonable peak or off peak fee. The only disadvantage is the two hour parking limit. You don't dare overrun the time or you're hit with a £60 fine. Be warned. Edited to add that PureGym has free parking for 3 hours. Make sure to enter your car registration on the device in the entrance. Wish I'd known this before I got the fine.

Positive experience: I am regular in the gym. It's so busy during my visit after work that it's often impossible to get on machines. So many kids or group just standing/sitting around texting and in groups of 3-5. With these big groups, it's such a long wait time to use a machine.

Fantastic experience: Was super nervous rejoining a gym after many years away. However, the staff were very welcoming when they let me in to look around, I signed up immediately. There's a relaxed atmosphere at Pure, while to does attract roving groups of teens who clog up machines, that can hardly be helped, nor can it getting busy and, y'know, peak times, nature of a well maintained and staffed gym! Also yet to see any Insta-Girls filming themselves which is a nice break from my last gym. I digressed! Well equipped, clean, spacious and glorious A/C, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Literally the only...ONLY bad thing i can say and its more hilarious than bad....i didnt realise the lights were motion activated and dont stay on for long. so 5mins into my shower....yep you guessed it, the lights in the shower turned off thank god my lights at home dont really work so im used to showering in the dark......so literally the only critism i have is please make sure the lights stay on for longer.... I didnt have a problem with it and just laughed and just secretly hoped someone would come in so i could just evilly laugh at them from out of the darkness but i wouldnt have actually done it but it was an amusing thought at the time....but yh i laughed it off completely but others might not, and besides the last thing you want is a lawsuit because someone cant see in the shower and they slip and fall over in the dark...although i dont think you want someone evilly laughing at other clients from the darkest regions of your gym either so what do i know you got to admit it would be funny though, or maybe i just have a bad sense of humour. Xxxxx seriously though those lights. Id hate to see a lawsuit pop up due to poor/no lighting while showering.

Negative experience: I've got the parking lot chasing me to pay a huge fine for staying a little more than 2 hours. Annoying for a way out of town gym they have a scumbag parking lot partner.

Fantastic experience: The gym does provide inclusivity for everyone. I have been at different times and the sense to me is that PureGym do deliver on their most recent hope to attract more gym users. The staff are friendly and approachable. I also think the resistance area and free weight areas are set out well.This gym could do with less treadmills and more indoor rowers and Skierg machines. Another good point is car parking with spaces during the Christmas build up. I would recommend.

Positive experience: Decent enough gym. Changing rooms could do with being cleaned more regularly. The Aircon needs to be turned up as it's too warm. The water temp of the showers needs to be lower. Who wants a hot shower after a workout? There should be mirrors on the wall by the downstairs treadmills, otherwise you're just looking at a wall!

Positive experience: This gym is very good, it has a large amount of equipment and weights. This is a large gym with just over 1 years old. Staff are friendly and approachable. Prices are also reasonable. Only negative fore is that when the gym opened, you could see the gym and changing rooms being cleaned regularly. Now this is not happening and especially the changing rooms are looking quite gross as the shower walls and floors are a yellow/orange colour (see pictures). Floor is very dusty and lockers are dirty. Overall still a good gym, just needs a good clean.

Negative experience: Terrible location where the car parking regulator is brutal and unfair. I was fined for using the gym car park on the basis of staying 10 minutes over the two hour limit. Even if you register on the UKPC screen. ( They claim to give three hours ) no mentions anywhere about the three hour rule( in the gym or the car park ). So if you get a fine you have no way of proving it and the gym wont intervene. I left the gym after being a pure gym member for a few years. I don't want the stress of receiving parking notices for being in the gym. Everyone else offers three hours without the hussle of registering on UKPC hit and miss system.

Fantastic experience: This is a Great gym with welcoming friendly staff lots of equipment to use and classes to join in on the gym is always clean with lots of room to workout I have a personal training session once a week with Katie who’s not only improving my fitness but my confidence to I can’t recommend enough I’ve been to a few gyms in the past but this is by far the best.

Fantastic experience: I have had nothing but positive experiences in PureGym Torquay. I absolutely love the classes, had a go at LBT, Pump, Bodytone and Strength 30. Absolutely love the instructors, they give you pointers to help with form, and push you when needed. Thank you to Steve, Phil, Katie, Cade and Joe. Keep doing what you are doing!

I go mornings before work and without fail the cleaners are in keeping the place fresh. Equipment is all still in mint condition and if there is an occasional out of order its usually sorted pretty quickly. Keep up the good work

Negative experience: Great gym, very modern and fresh. Lots of equipment. Few things that could improve: At times, lots of people sitting around on equipment texting, chatting etc (this wasn't a problem at the last gym I went to because staff would approach them and ask if everything was ok as a hint). This can be frustrating when you are waiting to use that station and the people don't do any sets in 10 minutes. Wiping down of equipment doesn't happen either which is a bit gross when you find equipment dripping in sweat. Overall, pretty good and staff could easily tackle this culture of it being a place to 'hang out' for some folks or hogging multiple pieces of equipment.

Fantastic experience: Fab place everything as you would like it and all at your own convenience. There are a couple of things however ,I really don't think there's much of an age check going on concerning the younger members I can easily tell that quite a few are under your age limit. Also there aren't enough bars abd such fir the equipment that you have there , There are only 2 straight bars for 8 pieces of equipment and those 2 have no rubber grips on .

Negative experience: Gym is really good but frustrated with 2 parking ticket for staying 10 minutes over 2hrs. In reality if you pay cheap monthly price and losing money on parking ticket. So cancel my membership and going back to my old gym got unlimited free parking.

Negative experience: Asked a member of staff to turn the music of as there was all ready loud music playing for the fitness session for the night and the response was "you just have to grin and bear it" I explained that there was 2 different tracks playing at the same time but she dint not seem to care. I came to work out not get a headache. If it was just a once of I would of not even given the time of day to write this review, but it is happening as (as far as I know) every Monday Wednesday and Friday. Are they really not able to simple turn one of the tracks down or off? I don't care that the lady had a poor unprofessional attitude, as me and my partner love the fact you can just use a app to go in and do your work out.
