The Health Club and Spa at St. George's Park - Burton on Trent

Negative experience: So I have just received a call from St Georges park gym which I have been a member at for over a year, they have just called up to say they are stopping my membership, no reason why, no meeting nothing. It's absolutely disgusting how I have been treated as suffering with mental health was a place I could relax at which helped me sleep and there answer was in so many words, we don't care. Not happy and will take this further

Positive experience: All staff very attentive and friendly. Elemis products lovely and are a popular choice for spas. Tasers/ waiting room was lovely. Surprised by therapists long nails though. Could feel them during the massage (long nails restrict pressure and work with fingers/ thumbs too). For higher quality and hygiene standards I would recommend a therapist with well maintained short nails as a given.

Fantastic experience: Lovely spa day. Greeted really pleasantly and prompt lunch service.Pool great and sauna and steam room very good . Heated loungers in pool area fantastic. Exceptional massage from Mia and loved heated beds in therapy room . Will always return there as given first class treatment personal to yourself. Need to go back soon. Daughter and I Birthday treat to ourselves. Recommend Elemis Franchipani oil! Suzanne and Abbie☺️

Positive experience: Bought a spa package as a birthday present , massage was great, the light lunch was just a chicken wrap with a side salad and slice of cake that wasn’t great , it was very quiet only 3 of us in the pool / spa area, the staff were friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable

Positive experience: Excellent treatment, good facilities, friendly staff. Lunch was delicious but could have had some other elements just to bulk it out a little, I did still feel hungry after. There were not enough loungers for everyone on a spa day unfortunately. Would still come here again.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I had a wonderful spa day here, all members of staff were very friendly, helpful and professional, the facilities were clean and in excellent condition, the treatments were fantastic and truly tailor made. We were lucky enough to have sole use of the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna for much of the day. A really relaxing treat and we shall definitely return. We left at 5.30 and didn’t see a single child all day which had been a concern when I had read the reviews. Thankyou for a great day.

Negative experience: Extremely poor customer service

Negative experience: More of a public leisure centre than a relaxing spa. Kids running around, jumping in the pool causing large splashes and screaming. Water not particularly warm in the pool. Had a more relaxing visit to Tesco afterwards!

Fantastic experience: A great spa day at St George's Park! Great welcome, attentive staff, wonderful treatments for all 5 in our party. The disabled changing facilities and pool hoist ensured that my daughter was fully included in pool side activities despite being a full-time wheelchair user. A delicious light lunch with unlimited tea, coffee, fruit juice etc meant we were well fed and hydrated. A robe and towels are supplied. We had such a lovely, relaxing time and made the most of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room before our treatments later in the afternoon. The Spa Team were so very helpful, accommodating and friendly. They really know how to look after their clients and make them feel welcome!

Positive experience: Firstly, I want to start by saying the spa treatment I had was amazing. Freya is a fantastic beauty therapist . A big thank you! I’m rating the overall spa experience as 3/5 because I didn’t receive a booking confirmation, and ended up with a spa package for me and a friend that I wasn't expecting. I did call and request a confirmation so I could check all the details were correct, but it never arrived. The pool looked good but it was very crowded (could have just a bad choice of day) and we found the lunch to be fairly basic, but OK. All in all, a nice venue but a few details made me less inclined to book a spa day again… I would come back for a treatment though.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never really gone to a spa in the UK before, however for my first experience I don’t think I’ll be going to any other spa from now on. A massive shout out to Megan who took great care of me.. her hands were like magic. She was polite and made me feel really comfortable. She answered any questions I had with confidence and had great knowledge as masseuse.

Fantastic experience: Only go here to attend swimming lessons for my 5 year old. Facilities are clean fresh and well looked after. Staff are pleasant and helpful No issues

Fantastic experience: My wife and I recently enjoyed a spa day here and our experience was fantastic. We take spa days often but this was our first time at this one. Freya was our host for the day, Freya was so genuinely supportive and attentive to our needs, always a smile and happy to answer any of our questions. The facilities were great, it wasn't too busy. I had a back massage treatment delivered by Megan. Unlike most of the treatments I've had at other Spa's Megan really knew what she was doing. Many others simply seem to follow a set pattern whereas Megan identified specific areas on my back that needed attention and worked those areas really well. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will make this our preferred Spa venue for the future despite travelling 90 minutes each way to it.

Fantastic experience: Nothing else to say but brilliant

Positive experience: We had a great spa day using spa seeker vouchers. The massage was great and the light lunch was just right for a day of relaxation. At times there were kids in the pool as it is connected to the hotel and other memberships can be used here. They had a lot of elemis products you could buy but if you have no idea about skincare and routines then you would have no idea if any suited if you wanted to purchase. Overall the spa day was nice, clean and chilled.

Fantastic experience: Very relaxing. Staff are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable: members and visitors are treated warmly, and staff take the time to check in beyond 'mandated customer service'. This creates an almost 'family-like' atmosphere. The gym and spa both have excellent facilities throughout, and these are in perfect condition and are well maintained. They use Elemis in the Spa and the whole St Georges complex accepts cash.

Positive experience: Nice friendly club, pool clean and tidy but jacuzzi is apart of the pool so same temperature as that. Heated chairs are nice and showers lovely and warm.

Positive experience: Booked a spa day for my friends 50th Birthday, there was 3 of us. Spa treatment of back massage & light lunch was included, couldn't fault the back massage, the therapist was lovely & friendly, she really tried to work the knots out of my shoulders, place was clean & staff on reception so friendly & helpful, would of given 5 stars if it wasn't for a morning of screaming kids in the pool, we counted 20 at one point, we couldn't get in the pool as so many kids. It said on the email that Wednesday is a baby club but we all wasn't expecting children in a relaxing Spa experience & on a Sunday, we all like kids but not when we've paid money for a relaxing day. Other than this we couldn't fault it.

Fantastic experience: After a disastrous start to the day for me, Ben Winson on reception was so helpful, understanding & professional he managed to sort out the problem which saved the day for myself & 3 friends who were there for a spa day. The remaining staff were also excellent, keen to help in anyway. Facilities are excellent as was the food. All in all an excellent day. Can't wait to do it all again.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic Spa day with my grown up children. The staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Treatments were amazing and felt so relaxed after. Lunch was nice fresh and my only criticism is that it would be nice to have a drink other than coffee with it.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner both had a deep tissue massage here on 12th October and we both agreed that it was the best deep tissue we ever had! Ladies were very accommodating and friendly and ensured the atmosphere was relaxing.. they both were very professional and knew what they were doing... i thought that a cup of ginger tea to end the procedure was a very nice touch ..woke up next morning feeling like a newborn! Thank you ladies and we will definitely be back !

Fantastic experience: Really good spa with a number of additional features like the foot spa, ice room with crushed ice to cool down with, tropical shower room for hot and cold showers,swimming pool, jacuzzi and sun loungers available too. There is a shop if you forget anything you can just buy it here. Friendly staff too.

Positive experience: Had a lovely day at the spa. It was a mother and daughter treat. This was our second time. The staff were very helpfull and very friendly nothing was to much trouble. My treatments were out of this world . The only down side to our stay i wouldnt say it was relaxing around the pool. They was familys there i think they were local people very noisy . Screaming and shouting . Children have got to have fun but it is a spa . People pay for a relaxing day .

Fantastic experience: Always enjoy our time here, so relaxing! but a bit disappointed that some guests thought it was ok to reserve the sun beds all day even when they weren't using them for over an hour. Think the staff should be able to intervene and remove belongings when this happens
