Fantastic experience: Best gym in stowmarket. Plenty of equipment, very tidy good crowd and amazing staff. There's plenty of classes that look fun and challenging. Free parking for two hours when you sign your car in.

Negative experience: Rude staff. Try doing nutrition classes in your own time instead of leaving paying customers waiting around and the other locked out of the gym due to system error. Especially if you are the only staff member. Poorly run gym and inadequate range of equipment/facilities/staff compared to the many other pure gyms I've been to.

Negative experience: Love strength class on a Saturday morning. However the air conditioning needs to be sorted out. By the end of class we were all feeling the heat and sweating profusely. With no fresh air entering the building and the daily temperature rising at last, air condition is paramount. The class runs from 9am until 9.45am so not late. Can only imagine how hot it got by the end of the day.
Hi Shelagh, thanks for taking the time to leave this rating, but I'm sorry to see it's two stars. We have recently made slight changes to the air conditioning, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based upon size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored. With regards to the temperature in the gym, we use air conditioning units which heat the air when it drops below 17.5C, and cools the air when it goes higher than 21.5C, keeping the temperature within the gym at an acceptable level. This is regularly checked to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. On occasion, we can get faults on our ventilation and AC systems which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Negative experience: I travelled all the way from Hertfordshire to see family, wanted to go to this gym at 8pm, it wouldn't allow me in as its not part of the membership even though I should get access to over 230 locations. I could downgrade my membership and gain access but that would then cause issues when I go back to my home location. No one to talk to, no intercom to help and a wasted journey. Put on you site this is not an accessible site with the premium plan. Really poor and disappointing

Positive experience: Pretty good, not too busy when I go at 6am, doesn't have the members free drinks machine like ravenswood does tho. Pretty decent equipment for a small gym.

Negative experience: Have signed up quiet a few times since it opened, charged for a few months but never actually ever got in.. QR code never worked. Finally managed on my 3rd signed up and charge.. visited 4 times in my first week, but the same people always hogging the equipment, very small and uncomfortable, Can't get over why this small poxy gym with minimal equipment is £4 a month more expensive than the one in Ipswich. Only 1 month for me I'm afraid

Fantastic experience: Lovely non-judgemental gym. We go at 6am and isn’t too busy. Free parking when you use their registration system inside. Good array of equipment including small CrossFit area, stretching/free weights/floor work area. Friendly staff and easy to get to.

Negative experience: Why am I paying £34.99 a month for this gym when the Colchester one is bigger and more equipment. You would think it would be better. Not to mention the member of staff there there kept shouting. The one reason I went for the 34.99 option so I could use both gyms.

Positive experience: This is a fantastic gym with a good layout and selection of machines, given its size. I attend only during off-peak hours but the members of staff I've spoken to, are extremely friendly. The facilities are immaculate and are always kept very clean by a dedicated team!

Positive experience: Tidy and compact gym Can get busy in peak times, but flexibility with 24 hr opening. It's good value but they need to find a way to get a broader spectrum of equipment in. 2 exercise bikes, 2 spin bikes for example is low numbers though there are about 10 treadmills and 4 Cross trainers. Weights are very popular here.

Negative experience: I’m not great with tec and with limited staff available I’ve found it hard work to get entry a couple of times.. my advise is stick to what you know.. so this first month will be my last and I will go back to bodywize.. better gym nicer people and easier to get in and out of..

Positive experience: Always mad packed !! Serriously need to think about making bigger area available and the equipment needs to improve 5 machines for legs generally most the machines there are just basic and end using free weights for most my sessions this gym has potential needs more Martyn the pt is absolute diamond tho staff are nice and help out when needed

Fantastic experience: From a 5 star to a 3 star and now back to a 5! Hats off to the staff and management at pure gym for maintaining a pleasant atmosphere and talking down the large group's that accumulated to just chat. In the last year the gym has actually become a really pleasant place to workout with members actually befriending each other whilst working out as well as sharing machines and benches during sets. Staff are equally as friendly now as well and seem to be smiling a lot more. The equipment is still spot on, clean and tidy as well as the facilities. I've got one request though... Can we have a punch bag please?

Fantastic experience: When I am flying around Suffolk & I need my Gym fix Puregym Local in Stowmarket is where I usually end up. Being a Local means its smaller than normal PureGym's, however it certainly doesn't hold back non the enthusiasm of the staff. When entering the gym you usually see a staff member with members causing them pain (They call it personal training lol), but they always say hello. Claire who I believe is also an Assistant Manager always greets me with a happy 'Hi' and the positivity that would get the most lethargically hindered person. PUREGYM - WHAT EVER YOU ARE PAYING CLAIRE IT CLEARLY ISNT ENOUGH!

Positive experience: Large amount of members to equipment. Where sometimes there's definetly more people in the gym than available equipment so you end up standing around waiting. It's a nice clean space but the atmosphere doesn't seem great. Not sure why.

Positive experience: I found the gym too busy for the equipment I wanted to use at the times I wanted to use it. I also tried very early mornings and late nights. Stowmarket is one of the more expensive puregyms around (ipswich is £10 a month cheaper), so I assume this is due to demand. At peak times the app is showing 48+ in the gym, whilst I didnt visit at those times I cannot imagine being remotely comfortable with that many people in that space, let alone getting to use any equipment. This made the gym too inconvenient for me so I cancelled. Equipment and venue all good quality and clean however. In my opinion there needs to be more Barbell/free weight equipment. Barbell or general free weight training has become a lot more popular.

Negative experience: Bunch of arrogant @@@ if you aint young and fit. Dont bother. I went to see about getting into some sort of shape and was basically laughed out the gym.

Fantastic experience: A good gym,plenty of equipment to use,be it the machines or free weights.Friendly Staff.Good showers,kept clean.The staff regularly go around cleaning the equipment.Cleaning stations are dotted about,which the majority of people use,just a shame not everyone does.Free parking for 2hrs.Free WiFi.

Fantastic experience: Cannot fault a corporate business pumping money in to a local establishment. Really clean, shiny, efficient. Might take business away from smaller gyms, but investment is return. Loads of male 'gym bunnies', but apart from that it's all good. Clean, airy and spacious. Go in and do your stuff. Simples

Fantastic experience: Great, friendly approachable staff. Great variety of equipment and good to see everyone that attends respectful of each other. Most people were still cleaning down equipment after using it which was great to see, with staff still doing spray downs of equipment too. Would highly recommend the gym to anyone who wants to join.

Positive experience: Full of kids!!! App said there were 10 people inside, it was packed!! Staff are great and machines well placed. Could do with some more benches with pressing racks.

Negative experience: Really nice location for the gym. I was surprised at how busy it gets for a large room, and it makes me wish more of the area was utilized for extra machines. Weights sadly only go up to 40kg, when i know that neighboring Ipswich has weights up into their 50s. I was very surprised to see someone crashing their weights and loudly grunting next to the "no crashing weights and grunting sign" and then to notice on social media that it is in fact one of the Personal Trainers. Overall i am a little gutted by my experience, but i can understand that it is a chained gym that simply isn't for everybody.

Fantastic experience: Great gym has lots of different classes on during the week to suit all abilities. Love that you can check how busy it is on the app before deciding to go.
Fantastic experience: Really decent gym with nice equipment. It's fairly small but I didnt have to wait to use any of the machines. Would 100% recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: I came down to the Open Day weekend for this Gym. And I have to say I'm very impressed ☺️ The Gym looks great, and the Manager Matt, took me round the gym and explained how it works. Very excited to join up. Expect great things from their team here

Fantastic experience: This gym is absolutely pukka very smart and has plenty of equipment. The staff are all great, got given a great tour by the manager Matt on the open for viewing at the weekend was proper helpful

Positive experience: What to expect from a new gym. Nice free weight area. Good size studio. Good amount of running machines. Once the restrictions are over the can bunch the rowing machines together for more space for box jumping and cool down. Think they could have made it 20%bigger by using more of the building as the gym will be popular and busy.. We shall see.

Fantastic experience: I am very excited for this gym to open next week. I've met both managers out in Costa and they have been super helpful and professional. Its an awful shame that the other gyms in the area are unable to be professional and are bad mouthing the new gym. I hope they know that doing this is a reflection of them and also indicates how rude and unprofessional the gym is likely to be.. why on earth would you want to sign up to be part of that. You will actually lose business continuing to be disrespect. Fix up.. there is enough business for everyone in this area.
