Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this gym for the past year and it's been great. The PTs are really helpful if your not a client of theirs they still help you and give you advice when needed. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly #GymCommunity. The gym is well maintained and clean, has a heated pool, sauna and hydro pool. I also bring my 13yo to the gym with me on occasions.

Positive experience: Lacking In ropes for the machines and the b omen Window still not being replaced after months which is a really bad look. Bloody hell get a grip and they just put prices up as well--really!

Negative experience: Having moved to the area recently I joined Tru Gym in Huddersfield. Since joining the price has increased with no consultation. The swimming pool has been without heat for some three weeks now and is too cold to use. The steam room is warm but never has any real amount of steam as you would expect. The steam room is also quite run down and by most afternoons is smelly and requires more proper cleaning that it has. I would not recommend Tru Gym Hudddersfield especially if you want a good clean steam room or a warm pool to use and am in the process of terminating my membership. On speaking with a lot of current members there is wide spread dissatisfaction with the pool situation….

Positive experience: Just started at the gym and was a bit apprehensive at first. However, everyone was very welcoming. Love the pool and the classes are really good and not too busy. The showers and changing rooms are nice and clean and are nice and warm. I would recommend joining this gym.

Clean gym, great pool, it is shallow but can swim, steam room is not a sauna but it is very hot which is great. Showers are clean also, perfect gym for the all round and also is very well organised gym

Fantastic experience: Tbh this gym is my little sanctuary. It’s really helped me mentally during a really stressful time in my life. I actually look forward to the classes every day, especially the spin classes with Charlie and Elliot, the energy they both bring to their classes is inspiring, so encouraging and motivating. I’m so happy we came across this gym, everything about the place breathes positivity, from all the instructors to the people on reception. Everyone is just lovely. Nothing like finishing the gym/classes with a trip to a beautifully kept pool that bans phones (love that) and a steam. Can’t fault the place. It’s worth every penny.

Negative experience: Awful. Manager has terrible customer service skills and advises you to email head office to resolve most issues. He has no empathy or basic people skills. The classes started of being varied but are now tired and boring. Limited mat area for pre and post workout stretching. Worst is it used to be spotless but cleanliness has gone downhill. Like many others I’ve gone over to Big Box where I’m much happier and better treated.

Positive experience: It's a good gym, the only one nearby with both a pool and steam room so I'm willing to pay a premium for that. But there are always multiple bits of equipment broken (at last count, 4 treadmills, 2 bikes etc) and the equipment is aging, easily 5+ years old. No touchscreens or logins for personalisation like you get with some of the newer Tecnogym stuff (Leeds Active have these and only £25 a month). The jacuzzi broke and was unheated for a month, now the pool heating is broken. Worth it if you want the pool / steam, otherwise overpriced.

Positive experience: I have a parent and child membership, they have a perfect selection of machines and equipment for our needs.

Negative experience: I've been in so many gyms in my life and in different countries as well, this is the worst company you can go to. nothing in their policies make sense. I only went to that gym in the first place because its close to my house, otherwise i would never come. They are one of the most expensive gyms and they have stupid policies that restrict you a lot. You cannot unfreeze your membership when you want, you need to communicate canceling on a non contract . Trust me it's better walking half an hour to go to the gym than paying more for a gym like this

Fantastic experience: BEST BEST BEST gym I’ve ever been to. I pay like £30/month without contract and I get to use everything anytime I want. Pool, steam room and sauna are just amazing. If I had to pay £100/month for such a good experience everyday, I would still happily pay that. Staff could be a bit more nicer tho.

Negative experience: This gym, I would give 0 star if I could. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone. By a few months ago, I cancelled the direct debit via bank app,(I didn't know I have to drop an email to do cancellation). After than, I received a call from this gym, their staff asked me, Do you want to cancel the membership, I said YES, She said, I will make a note on the system and told me you have £25 outstanding to pay. When came down to settled the outstanding balance. They were absolutely rude and said you have £175 and one more month to pay to cancel the membership. When I asked them why your staff said the cancellation will be marked on the system, their manager was getting defensive and asked who you speak to? and said probably the staff left, AND YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY! As the failure of internal communication and staff not trained correctly. They still put the cost on to customer side. This gym, AVOID!!!! AVOID!!!! When you do a registration of membership, everything OK(smiling face), when you leave.(RUDE)

Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend joining or using this gym to anyone. The seats of the machines are torn, there is no ventilation, the membership fee is high, and there is zero maintenance. The toilets and showers are extremely dirty. There is zero maintenance for the pool, and some customers come to the pool in their sports pants or even in the same underwear they've been wearing since morning. The jacuzzi has been broken for two weeks now, and the steam sauna has nothing to do with a steam sauna; it's just hot.

Negative experience: Rude Staff Unfortunately, the behavior of the employee there, Olivia, was very rude. It made me very sad. I have been a member of this club for 3 years and I had no problems. Today, she did not allow me to enter the club.every months for three years I paid my membership ,sometimes more than one month I didnot use gym because I didnot have time but I paid my membership ,today OLIVIA didnot allow me to enter the club ,she told me you didnot pay your membership I explained to her that I paid and had a receipt I paid March ,April,every months ,I told to she my husband waitting for me in the pool ,but she ignored me and upset me in front of some men who were standing there ,I paide every months .SHE HAS A DUTY TO RESPECT CUSTOMER

Negative experience: Joining the gym was easy, and the gym itself was probably the best I've had membership at. Quitting membership, however, has not been straightforward: Complying with Trugym's request to not cancel my DD has resulted in them taking money after my month's cancellation period has passed...

Fantastic experience: Visited yesterday for around an hr, just for a little work out with my partner, and i was very impressed with the friendly staff, the equipment and the facility's they had to offer. Will definitely come back again at some point to see what else this place has to offer as there was only so much that we could get done in an hr. Would highly recommend

Negative experience: Requested for my membership to be cancelled, and I ended up having money being taken from my account. Asked for a refund and got nothing back.

Fantastic experience: Excellent weights machines. None of this technogym. Pool can sometimes be cold but they are sorting it.

Positive experience: Gym is decent and has all the machines available that one would need. I think It could do with upgrade in the wet facilities like showers, toilets, steam room and changing rooms. Mold and rust all over the ceilings and steam room ceiling also crumbling with paint cracking. The drink fountains don't look very hygienic at all. I just think when you're paying £45 a month then these things make a big difference as it's a premium price for mot so much of a premium place.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy using Trugym and have been a member for about a year now. The steam room is also pleasant. The gym has everything i need. No complaints.

Negative experience: this gym is not good, i recommend people don't register to this gym because it is expensive and its not good, i cancelled my gym membership and they was not nice to me and they give me problems

Negative experience: Shocking to see how far this gym has gone down hill vending machine doesn't work lockers need a padlock need to validate your car reg but people on the counter don't know how long it's validated for safe to say after years of being a member I will be looking for a new gym

Fantastic experience: I have been at this gym for over a year now and it is a lovely and friendly environment. The start of the year they have also had some adjustments to the heat of the pool and that has made it an even better experience for me personally.

I also enjoy the classes, they have a lot of different ones so there is something for everybody. The staff is also very nice and helpful.

Negative experience: Been a member of the gym for a year and usually would not have any complaints. However whilst I was swimming for just 40 minutes by phone was taken out of my bag in my locker and has been stolen. Spoken to a lady on reception who was unhelpful and seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing. Spoke to so called “managers” today who were rude and said it was my own fault they couldn’t do anything. Refused to check CCTV and just stood there looking at me blankly! Not very good customer service for the amount paid every month and feel like cancelling my membership!

Negative experience: Came in and paid £15 for a day pass. Absolutely absurd prices for the low quality of the gym (£55 a month). Previously a member at the Unit gym in Honely. Equipment was miles better, atmosphere was better and the staff look after you (managers are extremely rude here) when you ask questions. Several pieces of equipment was in poor condition and if not out of order. The pool is small and was busy when I went so it’s impossible to get a good session in. Definitely won’t be coming back.

Fantastic experience: The place is quite clean and has versatile classes that you can pre-book according to your time table ! It is almost like a Spa with the steam room and privet jacuzzi Highly recommend

Negative experience: Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Unfortunately I can't give here less then one ⭐. Terrible place to sign a contact. Equipment for most of the time is broken and waiting ages to get fixed. Steam room is not a steam room... (Doesn't work). Prices going up, they doing what they want... Changing yours contact terms and conditions because they (can).You have no right here. I Totally not recommend this gym for anyone.

Negative experience: A lovely welcome from the female on reception this morning (19/08/23). However, treadmills were out dated and didn’t even work or run to the speed the treadmill stated. Assault treadmills digital displays didn’t work. I was staying with family and this was a day when I wanted to try a different gym. Changing rooms were ok. Doors not on some lockers and wasn’t clean. Pool was very nice and sauna lovely. A bit excessive of price to say the least as it was £15 for a day pass.

Fantastic experience: 1st time at the game for a few years. My daughter came too she's 15, and equally enjoyed it. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Negative experience: Expensive membership for a poor gym. A chap is walking around screaming talking to himself earlier, very strange. Also like a sauna internally, at those prices you'd think you'd get AC. Wouldn't recommend.

Negative experience: If you're looking for a gym with constantly broken equipment and lockers, with a steam room without a steam, with showers with no water, and you're willing to pay the highest price in Huddersfield, TruGym is the right place for you! Also, don't be bothered with reading Terms & Conditions when joining, in case of any problems occurred, the manager will send you a new amended and personalised version of contract, especially for you (!) and will assure you that they can change it whenever they want and add whatever they want to prove they're right! What a bargain! Seriously, avoid that place as you're not protected by any T&C's. In case of a complaint about the poor quality of the service provided, your contract will magically change so they pretend it's a standard you should accept even if initially you haven't agreed to it! Waste of time and money.
