Fantastic experience: Much better value under the new owners now that classes are included in the fee. I just re-signed up this week and the gym is good. Clean, tidy and there’s a good variety of classes and machines to try. It does get quite busy in the evenings. I like the Konga classes with Lisa, although it does feel really squashed with 12 people in the studio, especially when you have no co-ordination! I used my sign up bonus of a free training session today, with Adrian, and really enjoyed it. Adrian was really friendly, helpful and showed me some good excercises to work on my goals. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer or if you’re not too sure where to get started in the gym.

Fantastic experience: I had my first session here on Thursday and I was really impressed. The gym is spacious very clean. And all the equipment is in top condition. The staff are very helpful and great you with a smile. I have finally found the gym for me. It's a must try.

Fantastic experience: I decided to join my wife on having a tour around this gym and thought it was great so got a membership! The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, most importantly they make sure you're okay with each piece of equipment and are always on hand to help. I have never been to a proper gym like this before and was worried about not fitting in as I'm not a fitness freak and definitely don't have an amazing body, but everyone is so nice and make you feel so welcome! Highly recommend for both people who are new to the gym and people who are fitness freaks!

Fantastic experience: Just joined and first impressions are very good. Staff seem very friendly and welcoming and there was no pressure to join when I went for my look around/taster. The gym is bigger than I thought, but is full of modern and clean equipment. The changing room is small, but cleaned to a high standard, so you soon overlook that. There are plenty of sprays, paper towels and hand sanitizer available around the gym, plus while there I noticed staff were also making sure the gym was clean.

I feel really safe visiting the gym with all the covid secure measures in place, I can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic experience: I have been with Energie Derby since it's opened and my partner has just signed up. We couldn't ask for a more professional outfit in every way. Staff are friendly and helpful along with extremely knowledgeable. The gym is always clean and there is always cleaning materials available to wipe down equipment after use. I would highly recommend this gym to anybody looking for somewhere to sign up. It's a shame we can only give it 5 stars! well done!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of the énergie fitness for just over 2 years. I’ve used the gym, classes and have had PT sessions with Craig who was brilliant and saw amazing results with his workouts. I’ve also attended when the gym when it reopened after the 1st lockdown and restated again this week. There’s plenty of hand sanitiser for members and the staff are constantly wiping down the equipment. I feel comfortable attending on my own and both staff and members are welcoming and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym..great price for what you get. Been a member for a couple of years now & would not go to another gym. The reason is the staff..friendly & approachable.. the personal trainers are second to none, have completely changed my fitness goals & have made huge gains. They care about the members & have made me feel very comfortable. Highly recommended.

During covid the staff went above and beyond to keep members motivated with home work-outs and online classes. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Joined the gym over 2 years ago now and have enjoyed it ever since. Got to know the instructors through doing the classes, which I've really enjoyed. They’ve always went out of their way to advise or help regarding training. During lockdown last year they had organised lots of classes which I was able to attend via zoom. Definitely helped me stay focused and helped me mentally during that period. Super gym and great facilities. Delighted to be back!

Fantastic experience: I am so pleased that Energie Fitness Derby is able to reopen now lockdown is over. It’s a great location for me and lots of parking. The staff team are always so friendly which is my favourite thing about this gym. I love their classes and the gym equipment is great and kept very clean. There are loads of cleaning stations around so members can keep Covid safe. They’ve really worked hard to keep members motivated over the lockdown but it was still great to get back there. Looking forward to attending their outdoor classes too until these can be done inside again.

Negative experience: When the gym shut down during the lockdown, I received a sneaky email from them that said I can choose to keep paying the membership fees so their employees can stay afloat and if I did not respond to that email, they would keep debiting the fees. Even so, I chose the option to keep paying half the fee amount. When the lockdown ended, they sent an email saying they have increased the membership fee. I responded saying that I want to cancel my membership but they said I would still have to pay another month's fee, because it's their "policy". It's disgusting how their "policies" change according to their convenience. I was so stupid, trying to help out a corporate organisation, what was I thinking!

Positive experience: Nice gym! Very hygienic and fresh which is valuable now considering corona. Loads of machines and plenty of space for warm up. Lots of dumbells Personally would have preferred a bit more space for free weights but this is still a possilibilty! Keep up the good work

Karen has been great and has helped me tremendously with promoting my business at the gym! Her team are very welcoming and friendly! The gym is always clean and staff are always keen to get involved! Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to get back once the lockdown is lifted!!

Fantastic experience: Been going here consistently for about 5-6 weeks now. Great gym with good facilities. The staff are so friendly. Can't fault it. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Went for a trial session a month or 2 ago, which was okay. Until I started getting pressured into signing up for a contract straight away. I like to have a think to myself before committing that much money up front, but they didn't seem to understand this. Essentially they couldn't care less if I want to improve myself, they just want my money. Haven't been back since because of this, but got emailed today saying I owe them £119?? It's a no from me! Do not recommend at all.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym got everything you need

Negative experience: The gym is not safe for young students due to the local clientele. It is small, overcrowded in the evenings, and the staff do not take any responsibility for problems between members. Myself and a friend were waiting to use some equipment we had been told we could use by the person using it, but it was taken from us by two other men who arrived after us and told us it was theirs and we couldn't do anything. My friend argued with one of them and one of the men proceeded to threaten him and said he would get someone to "sting" him if he didn't leave. My friend went to the staff member and complained, after which the staff told us to use something else while we wait.

Negative experience: Not a nice environment to work out, would not recommend. I went to the gym recently with a friend and wanted to use the singular bench press they have. It was being used so we asked how many sets the guy had left and he said "only a couple" so we waited. This is when a fairly big guy with clear signs of use of anabolics decides to storm in and take the bench, the person on the bench told him that the bench was ours to use, however the big man says "I bench 190kg, its mine when I need it". We offered to let him work in, but he declined. After some arguing including the gentleman threatening to beat us up, he proceeded to say that he didnt care, and that "he'd smash my friend's head in here or later outside the gym" and that one of his mates could "spike us", we decided to back off and speak to the gym staff about it. However, when we told the staff member, he said "I recommend you go away and try something else whilst you wait". We had previously seen this member of staff chat and joke around with this individual. The total lack of respect from this staff member is what is making me and my housemates cancel our gym memberships. Another housemate has previously been harassed by the bench-stealing gentleman for using "light weights" whilst on the bench. Even beyond this experience, the gym is overcrowded, too hot, has a lack of equipment available with only one bench and one platform and the facilities are often dirty. Also the weights are always left on the barbells and machines. It's a shame that this staff member ruined the attitude that the rest of the staff have, others have been very friendly and helpful. Wouldnt really recommend this gym to anyone, the price is fairly low but I feel you get what you pay for.

Positive experience: Staff seem nice especially karen she is fantastic but I wouldn't recommend the gym for anyone with high anxiety problems as it can become quite busy at times and very cramped

Positive experience: I've only recently signed up, but all the staff are lovely and very friendly. Very clean gym and i'm happy to say it's never overly packed so you can do your workout in peace :-)

Negative experience: As someone who works out regularly, I was considering joining this gym as 1) it is just round the corner from my workplace and 2) it's very hygienic and the equipment is good. I visited this gym on three occasions. The first time was with a friend who is actually a member at this gym. His membership includes guest passes so we were able to train together as he let me use one of his guest passes. The following month, I return with a different friend who signed up for a day pass online. I also signed up for a day pass. When we both arrived at the gym that evening, one of the male employees was quick to assume that I had signed up with a different email, just to get a free day pass. Rude much? Anyway, I informed him that this was the first time I had signed up for a free day pass and used it. I also told him that I had previously entered the gym with a friend who is already a member here and he allowed me to use one of his guest passes as he pays for them as part of his membership. The male employee that I spoke to said that this was "okay" and that I was "allowed" to do this. Fair enough. My friend and I went ahead with our workout. As we were leaving the gym, we were stopped by the manager who asked us whether we wanted to join. My friend and I said we needed time to think as the price is a little steeper than our current gym. The only real benefit would've been how close it is to our workplace which saves me having to drive us there after work and paying for parking. We were informed of this 'amazing limited time offer' which included a £5 joining fee or something along those lines. My friend and I later decided not to go ahead with it as the gym does not suit our personal training needs and the prize is quite steep, especially when we're already paying less at a gym which offers a much larger range of equipment and facilities. The endless calls did not stop as well as the text messages. So a month later, the previous friend I trained with (the one who is a member at this gym), asked me whether I'd like to do another training session with him. Baring in mind what I was previously told by the male employee, I didn't think this would be an issue at all as my friend was already paying for guest passes. So anyway, a few days later, we both enter the gym where I am stopped by the manager. My friend proceeds to tell her that I was training today on one of his passes which he pays for. In her exact words, she responded "No he can't. He's been here loads of times with that other white guy!" Now I'm not sure whether she was upset as I hadn't returned their endless marketing calls due to not having the time but it's still no excuse to treat someone this way. The 'other white guy' and I had only trained here ONCE, not 'loads of times' but ONCE. I corrected her and told her that the other friend and I had only trained together that ONE time. She ignored me and told my friend that you could only use ONE guest pass each month. Now considering that it had been over a month since my friend and I had last worked out together, I really don't see what the issue was. I think she eventually realised that she was misinformed. She said she would "let me off" and allow me to train here "just this one time". Thanks??? So not only have I been treated rudely by one of the employees, the manager herself was quick to do the same. I have been completely put off ever joining this branch as it's also an inconvenience paying for parking at my current gym. I think I'll stick to the small inconvenience of having to pay for parking as opposed to a place where I am treated like sh** by the people who work there. 1* for the fact that the gym is kept in good condition and 1* for the fact that I was "let off" that day. In response to the reply I have received below... I have only visited this gym on three occasions and only trained with this particular friend just the ONE time. UPDATE: STILL receiving spam/marketing texts. Apparently, texting 'NOFIT' to their number as advised, still isn't enough to stop receiving messages from them.

Positive experience: A little cramped but very high standard of equipment and an excellent boxing area, but the showers and changing rooms be warned are pertheticly small.

Negative experience: It's a nice little gym, but if you ever decide to cancel your membership, you have to prepare yourself to give 30 days notice from the next direct debit date. (slight detail that is missing from their T&C that states "you can cancel at any time, providing you give 30 days notice). Unfortunately, they don't operate with pro-rata payments, so if let's say you give notice on the 10th of the month and your next direct debit is on the 30th, you should expect your membership to finish on the 30th the following month.And pay accordingly as well. Pretty disappointing they don't make it clear in the T&C, which are not even published on the website.

It's a very clean gym with plenty of equipment and benches. I've made so much progress here, hitting so many fitness and strength goals.

Went to the Kickstart Induction yesterday with Zee and it was amazing, didn't stop moving - involving work outs and fun in the induction was motivating and has inspired me on how I can use the equipment and activities in my own workouts.
