Fantastic experience: Beautiful apartment, clean and great location.

Positive experience: Comfy apartments in a great location overlooking the sea from an angle up on the hill. Shame we didn't get to try their onsite pool, sauna, and gym though. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Almost everything perfect, except for a few strange broken window blinds in the rooms. Lift also smelled funny. Not the cheapest place either considering similar places in town at lower prices.

Negative experience: The management have a duty to upgrade their Hotel!! Status . This is now a private Facility NOT open to the Public as a Hotel, Bar, Leisure or Dining facility.

Fantastic experience: Really nice gem of a hotel. In Scarborough most hotels were built at the same time, some show their age well and some don't. This hotel and it's rooms have clearly been modernised. Rooms are spotless, modern fixtures and fittings, newly fitted shower. But you can still tell you are staying in an older or classic hotel, with a cute little lift to still having floorboard. The pool is amazing. We didn't eat at the hotel as there was too much temptation from local restaurants. We will be back.

Positive experience: Excellent service, excellent food, excellent view. Only downside was I booked this particular hotel because it had a jacuzzi and pool. The pool was freezing and murky and the Jacuzzi wasn't working so I was very disappointed to say the least. Also note to the hotel. It would be nice if you could utilize the central heating in the room as we were cool last night. Luckily I brought a hotel water bottle so we used that.

Fantastic experience: We booked in to the Red Lea at the last minute and were shown great hospitality by Sara and Nick. The hotel is lovely as are all the staff, plus it is in a perfect spot close to everything in Scarborough. Thankyou team.

Fantastic experience: Nice welcome at Red Lea Hotel by the receptionist who could not have been more attentive, found all the staff very pleasant and helpful the room was clean airey lovely view of the sea and the park, coffee tea making facilities were well stocked along with hair drier. The food served at breakfast was 1st class, the evening meals were again 1st the staff serving the food were helpful and friendly all in all the Red Lea Hotel is a lovely Hotel to stay at.

Positive experience: This is an excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff . The only thing I did wrong was not to book the evening meal when I made the original booking

Stay here 2 or 3 times per year in the apartments. Beautiful location. Would stay here more frequently if say even one if the apartments was made small dog friendly.

Positive experience: Needs a bit of an update. The bed is very small. The shower water pressure is very low. The gym, pool, hot tub and sauna are fantastic. Everything you can need. Lots of free weights and machines. Never seen anything like it at a hotel. Great location. Lovely bar. The breakfast is Sever to you and was lovely.

Positive experience: A warm welcome by the staff and easy on street parking. A quick ride to the base of the cliffs on the adjacent lift and a nice walk to Scarborough seafront and harbour. Facilities in the hotel are really quite good, rooms and hotel are slightly showing age but this adds only to the charm.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely no complaints to be made at all. Pool and spa facilities a lovely addition. Sea view from room was great. The room itself was spacious and the beds were comfy. The bar is well stocked and competitively priced and this mornings breakfast was exceptional. All the staff we met were absolutely lovely and we would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner came here for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday and all we can say is what an absolutely amazing time we had. The hotel and staff were incredible and we will definitely be returning back. There isn't enough star ratings to give otherwise we could of given more. Our room was beautiful we stayed in room 108. The view was incredible. The amenities were outstanding, very clean and we loved having our swim 1st thing in the morning. The full weekend has been amazing. We would like to especially say a massive thank you to a lady called Wendy who works in the restaurant her dining room waitreseing was exceptional very welcoming everytime always went the extra mile with how she greeted us. I also just wanted to say how lovely it was she went that extra mile on my birthday and decorated our table. Thank you again.

Negative experience: Hi just come back from the hotel I must say the bed was very very hard .hotel room was very clean . The waitress we had on our table Who served breakfast this morning was very very rude And need to learn some manners . we.. was going to go back next year but unfortunately don’t think we will be going back there again

Fantastic experience: We were there for a funeral lunch, food was fresh tasty and nicely presented. Staff very nice, furnishings in the lounge etc was lovely warm and comfortable.

Positive experience: The hotel was lovely and clean but our bedroom needed a refurbishment as did other areas of hotel. The evening main course menu was not good and something you don't expect to have on a Saturday evening. The chicken pie was terrible and many residents left it and commented on it later.You would expect to find the main dishes on at a brewers fayre. The staff were fantastic

Fantastic experience: Fabulous family owned hotel on South Cliff. Check in easy, room clean and tidy. Seagull noise comes and goes. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and staff must be commended. Steady walk to town and sea front. Appreciated the free transport to Spa concert (cliff top lift out of order at the moment). Easy on street parking and provided with permit for length of stay. Will return, definitely.

Fantastic experience: Great hotel. A bit out of town in a nice quiet location. Plenty parking. Clean, well run and excellent staff. Swimming pool is bookable for a private swim and the hot tub is in the same area. Rooms are currently being refurbished which will improve the hotel further. Great breakfast and evening meals were OK. Would I go back - absolutely yes.

Fantastic experience: The hotel is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and warm ( it is spring and cold outside) . The food was very good as a ex chef I couldn't fault it. The pool and and jacuzzi was nice also had a sauna but I didn't use it. The hotel is on a cliff so expect a climb from the town. A very nice Victorian hotel with wonderful views.

Positive experience: Lovely place to stay. Very clean. Fantastic food. Very friendly staff and owners.Great gym and hot tub. Had a very nice and relaxing massage from Louise. Got up graded. Will deffinatatly be going back. Only down side no shower cubical only shower over bath. Not easy access for disabled. Though there are walk in showers in the gym area, but these are down a flight of stairs. But over all, excellent place to stay.

Positive experience: Just stayed with a group from dunwood travel .had a wonderful time couldn't fault hotel and food . The only thing was the hotel being on top of the headland it would be to far for some for going into the town.

Fantastic experience: Lovely Victorian hotel, sea view if you have front rooms which we were lucky to get. Breakfast was perfectly cooked and great choice from traditional full breakfast to smoked salmon, muesli with yogurt and berries is a must . Rooms spotless clean, nice spacious bar, there is a swimming pool and a gym (didn't use it on our 1 night stay), close to centre (10/15 min walk). Loved it

Fantastic experience: Redecorations are great. Kept the timely feels but gave it a nice modern touch. Our room was surprisingly big, with some lovely sea views! Bathroom slightly smaller but absolutely okay for the price. Generally this is a very serene and nice hotel given the region. Not much going on in the immediate surroundings but that can be a positive thing. Only down side would be the sound insulation, but quite honestly in a building of this age that is to be expected.

Fantastic experience: First class Hotel convenient for everything in the area

Positive experience: We had 2 nights away in the Red lea Hotel Scarborough, Sunday to Tuesday 2 rooms 314 and 216. 216 was great a double bed and single bed huge room great sea view table and chairs good size TV, but 314 was tiny clean but very small. The hotel was really good staff friendly, helpful and attentive. The breakfast was lovely, would definitely recommend and will return, just maybe ask to see room first.

Positive experience: Convenient for the cliff lift. On the downside the room was smaller than expected and the bathroom was very small. Difficult to get in and out of the bath/shower. Grab handles on the wall over the bath would have been helpful. We did not find the mealtimes very accommodating but probably due to the hotel looking after it's staff and only seating half the capacity.
