Phase One / TEMPUS Gym

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to phase one/tempus for several years, and have always found it friendly and well equipped. The refit with new machines and weights has made it a bit busier but not to the point where it particularly impacts your workout. They’ve created a supportive environment which obviously appeals and works well for a really wide variety of people.

Fantastic experience: The best gym I’ve joined, without a doubt! The equipment is top-notch, with an excellent variety of machines and free weights to suit all workouts, and nearly all of it is new, very sturdy and high quality. They have cardio equipment and a sled track too, which is a nice addition. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful and are happy to guide you on using equipment. It’s never too crowded, so you don’t have to wait for machines, but it’s also lively enough that it's got a good atmosphere. Good member etiquette too. The gym is really clean. The sauna is a bonus! Highly recommend this place - great value for money.

The best job I’ve had and I’ll always carry on coming here to train as the equipment is brilliant and the social hub here is sooo supportive and friendly!! I don’t know what I would do without this place and I know a lot of members would agree <3

Fantastic experience: Easily the best gym in Bath. Great back and leg machines available and plenty of free weights too. The sauna is a brilliant plus during the colder months and all for around £30 is good value. The staff are super friendly and are gym regulars giving it a nice community feeling. Can’t recommend enough. If you’re serious about training don’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Phase One is a fantastic Gym with a friendly and supportive atmosphere. They have a newly refurbished weights section with a great range of equipment, a good cardio section with no long waits for machines and also offer a range of classes in the dance studio. Cannot recommend this gym enough, lovely people all round

Have been going here for a few years and have been very well treated - it’s good to see the same friendly faces every week. Since the refurbishment the equipment has massively improved. Positive experience: It might not be a fancy gym but it got everything you need. Plenty of machinaries to use, sauna, classes throughout all week. The staff is helpful and friendly. What I love the most about this gym is that it is not overcrowded and sometimes I find myself with fewer people, it's so nice and peaceful, all you need after a busy day at work.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and a nice feel to the gym. Having previously been members at a overcrowded commercial gym in town, Phase 1 is certainly better value for money and a better experience. We have been members for coming on 12 months and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely incredible dance class, for a group of hens with no co-ordination we all learnt the steps to Chicagos All That Jazz! Brilliant instructor she really put everyone at ease

Positive experience: A small gym which is in need of upgrading and modernising. Changing rooms are in particular need of attention. Upstairs studio is very nice, good quality floor and fittings. Gym equipment is basic. They also have smaller rooms for use by massage therapists which I've enjoyed.

Positive experience: Its a friendly place with lots of equipment, but the place and most of the equipment are tired and worn. There are better gyms with better kit for less money.

Positive experience: No-frills gym with a good range of equipment and class/studio space. Staff on the front desk were polite and happy to help. Workout space is separated across several floors, focusing on weights downstairs and cardio equipment with studio floorspace upstairs. I used the cardio space upstairs which has the expected range of equipment including cross-trainers, treadmills, rowing machines and limited space for mat work in a corner (though open studio space is in the next room). Equipment is apparently dated compared with more modern 24/7 gyms, though basic functionality remains and gets the job done. Despite being a very warm day outside, the air-conditioning retained the space at a relatively mild temperature. The changing area was mostly clean, though some modernisation/renovations would be helpful. Some of the facilities were out of order on the day. Lockers require £1 coins (returnable). Overall a decent gym to use, though could be improved by replacing some older equipment and renovating the changing area.

Positive experience: really close to where i live so thought id go in and look around. Got a great deal on a years membership that simply was better than any other gym.. Nice people on the counter and got a induction coarse which was perfect. its not for everyone but as gym goes and value im giving 4 stars. im happy.

Fantastic experience: The gym staff are absolutely jokes and very outgoing .I recomend this gym for its relaxed layout and good weight room (also cracking value) .it could be better if there was a bowl of chalk but otherwise it s got great equiment like lifting belts and good machines and free weights
