Negative experience: First time at a PureGym, staying with relatives for a week so couldn’t attend my usual gym. App easy enough to use and paid for one days entry. There was plenty of equipment. Changing rooms are small. No soap in the hand soap dispenser in the changing rooms. Vending Machine to buy a lock wouldn’t accept coins and had to wait for a member of staff to buy a padlock as I couldn’t get the contactless to work. The gym isn’t particularly well lit but could be improved dramatically if they had the roof lights cleaned to let in more daylight as it felt like nighttime even though it was mid morning. The water fountain didn’t have a tap to fill a water bottle so to fill a bottle you need to aim your bottle sideways at the water fountain! Ok for an occasional workout but I wouldn’t be motivated to attend this gym on a regular basis.

Positive experience: PureGym gets a 3.5/5 overall from myself. 24/7, good price month to month, has most of what anyone needs, however they are busy, frequently have poor hygiene, higher rate of inconsiderate users and missing or worn out accessories, plus often misplaced or missing weights. Wincheap Considering size and amount of users this gym gets it does well for access to kit, I would try and avoid rush hour times, the toilets and changing rooms are often dirty and unpleasant to be frank and I can't speak for female changing rooms but some of the male user habits are disgusting compared to other PG's which I don't think helps. Often the gym smells after classes or peak times, I think the aircon can struggle to cope, though I never found it too warm here, place becoming victim of own success? PG could do with a larger facility in this part of town or at least refurb the place, the gym, some equipment and accessories feel very tired and/or hard to find. Usually I can find one rope for cable machines but its usually battered and needs replacing.

Negative experience: Just had the experience of a male cleaner walking in to the female showers while I was stepping out naked, and getting dried. He didn’t call when he walked in - twice. No apology. He hung around for 5 minutes in the changing room so I couldn’t leave the shower. This is appalling.

Friendly staff, good equipment and no attitude.Im disabled and on crutches and have had nothing but friendliness and helpfulness from staff and punters alike. Definitely would recommend...don't see why the others think they can charge more!

Positive experience: The equipment is in pretty good order and quite clean but the changing room could do with more attention at times, I avoid using them now and go home to change instead. Often seems to have popular classes going on with enthusiastic coaches. Good value for money. The entrance could be better, it seems quite a few people come in for free.

Positive experience: Does what it needs to without bells and whistles. You get what you pay for. Maintenance and cleaning could be improved. The recent sighting of black mould around the shower vent was a little concerning and the caretaker guy didn't seem to grasp the severity of this. PTs do tend to leave you alone and you're not ambushed with sale pitches every five minutes like in some gyms. Classes are frequent and well delivered.

Positive experience: @Pure Gym Riverside Canterbury. It is NOT on that you lock your disabled shower to gym goers. There is simply no excuse for this, none and you should get your act together. Instead of replying with a standard lame apology, you should ACT! Most disappointed ☹️

Positive experience: Started here about a month ago. They have a vast range of machines and free weights to complete every workout as well as the staff being very friends. There are also stations to clean the benches down to make it a lot clean for the person after you. The only thing is it you go between 5-8pm it is a very busy, although the gym is of medium size many of the machines are crowded and there's a lot of waiting. I much prefer to go in the morning around 7am as there are a lot less people and generally you don't have to wait for benches or machines. Overall this is a very good and comfortable gym.

Positive experience: Friendly atmosphere and very accessible for what equipment you wish to use. Can get a little crowded at times, but I tend to visit around 5 am...excellent! I first posted this about 10 or 12 months ago and it still applies today...a great place to exercise.

Positive experience: Great workout - two classes with Aaron and lots of our regular gym chums … air conditioning needs attention however and could timetable be reviewed? There seems to be less classes running and sometimes attendance low as people can’t make because they’re still at work? Understand weather has been an issue this week but 4 classes cancelled because of heat … isn’t that the point of air conditioning? Also, were cardio machines also made out of bounds on these days? If not, why were classes cancelled?

Negative experience: Too small for the number of ppl they allow at any one time especially during covid times. Cranking up the AC doesn’t make it better.

Fantastic experience: PureGym as usual.... could become little crowded and end up waiting for the equipment. However the anytime gym concept would compensate the crowds. Early hours in the morning and late evening are bit quiet. Men's changing rooms are good size and have showers (X3) too.

Fantastic experience: I've been here 3 times so far, I really enjoy the atmosphere, you can go in and do your workout without worrying. I have been twice with friends and once alone with no issues. I've not tried the classes yet but will review again after I have tried one. The staff are all really friendly and helpful.

You can freeze your membership at any time and renew it without being penalised. Staff are very polite and helpful Civid secure.

Negative experience: Really upset with Puregym, they used to have amazing customer service now it’s all automated. I wanted to change gyms as I’ve just moved and they have increased the prices, I emailed and was informed I could freeze my membership but it didn’t even do that and the direct debit has still come out, apparently it’s frozen the month after instead, I can’t get through to an actual person and want to know why I have to pay twice as much just to change gyms Really bad service great gym other than that but why get rid of the best part (on phone services) I’ll likely just cancel my entire membership if the freeze function doesn’t even do that.

Positive experience: Recently joined managed to use a couple of times before lockdown. It is well kitted out and has a buzz about it. Only bit of kit missing is a few wattbikes as a training item. I would question one or two of the PT's who, as a personal trainer myself, did not come really consider the mixed abilities in the group sessions and dismissed questions and concerns from newcomers, who come out looking put off.
