Inverclyde Leisure Gourock Outdoor Pool

Fantastic experience: We joined you for the Miidnight Swim' in Wednesday. We had a really lovely time. We were a bit apprehensive about the water temperature but it was warm going in. The place was great and along with the music it was a lovely experience. I will definitely be visiting again. What a great facility to have. We travelled from Lanarkshire as did the people behind us in the queue and it was worth the trip. It's bringing people into the town, more councils should cotton on to this. It's a gem!

Fantastic experience: Great outdoor heated salt water pool, staff always friendly, spectacular views, dolphins seen in these parts, super little town near, good chippy and nice Spinaker Hotel for a drink, indoor outdoor food, views tp die for, what a special town

Fantastic experience: Great come rain or shine since it's a heated (salt water) pool. Gorgeous views and ideal location for getting a bite to eat afterwards.

Fantastic experience: £20 for a family of four. £1 for the lockers. Sliders or flip flops a must due to rough ground (though very safe as non slip). Bring own shampoo and shower gel. Steps into the pool so good for those with babies or limited mobility. They alternate between using the diving boards for a while then having an area for lane swimming. It's on a one way system and the car park just after is free on Sundays plenty of spaces. It's also really close to the train station. A lovely day out. Super friendly and helpful staff member on the entrance desk AM on 11 Aug.

Positive experience: Great location, friendly staff and atmosphere. Slightly dated but they make do with the money they have.

Negative experience: Starlight Swim Disappointing … I though it would be a relaxing, adult swim, but it was the opposite - too busy, kids splashing everywhere, seems to be a big money spinner where they sell too many tickets for the capacity of the pool. What a shame

Fantastic experience: Beautiful experience, great views very friendly staff. I don't really understand why people feel the need to point out that there's no cafe, it's literally 5 minutes walk from Gourock High Street.

Positive experience: Water temperature could be possiby a little higher

Negative experience: Was quite surprised that ther was no seating area had to sit on wall as a pensioner thought ther should be somewhere to sit also no tea coffee facilities it would have been much more enjoyable as kids loved it the 2 benches that wer there were full of bags towels

Positive experience: The pool is a fantastic resource. Overall needs some tlc. The path next to the pool is breaking up. The changing rooms could do with more regular cleaning.

Fantastic experience: Heated outdoor pool with 2 diving boards at different heights.. Can get very busy at times,lift for wheelchair users and ramp to get down to the pool..Take goggles due to the pool having sea water..

Fantastic experience: Open air heated pool with fantastic views and deep end for 3.5 m diving. Bring 1£ and 20p coins for lockers and hairdryer. A cafe would be a great addition, but ice cream is available at the entrance

Negative experience: Me and the others in the pool were forced out and made to stand out on the street wearing swimming attire, because of a fire alarm which I overheard firemen and employees say there wasn't even a fire the alarm just went off. I lost my key to my temporary locker that had my phone and wallet in it, the staff made me go back in the pool and get soaked when I was trying to leave to get my key instead of just fishing it out of the pool or opening my locker themselves because I know that they're able to do that.

Fantastic experience: Loved being in this pool in salt water. The sun was shining. The staff were helpful and friendly and the changing facilities were excellent.

Fantastic experience: Great facility, staff very friendly and helpful, the water was very warm and clean changing rooms and locker area nice and clean. Showers were clean and thankfully there was a cold option, The pool was very busy and there was still plenty of space for everyone. Great value at £5.50 a swim, there didn't seem to be a time limit. Lots of room for sunbathing after yer door in the pool, although I didn't see any dugs in the water, I heard they allow them in sometimes. Aye, I will be back.

Positive experience: Been wanting to visit this outdoor pool for a while and made the visit in late August. £5.50 for an adult swim (you can stay in as long as you want) and the first 3 hrs of parking is free! Changing facilities are OK and use £1 coin deposit. The music is a bit deafening in the changing area but less so outside. Pool area outside is OK. Great views even in poor weather. Pool is warm and salt water and makes for an enjoyable swim. There is a good deep end (3.5m) which you don’t often see in more modern pools with spring board and platform. Would definitely travel the hour there and back to visit again.

Negative experience: Open sea beside you and it's free. Cold water swimming . Why would you pay to be in chlorine water.

Positive experience: Water nice and warm. No cafe or soap in showers but ususal west coast friendly welcome.

Positive experience: On of the outstanding things I’ve experienced today. I never thought it’s really exists in Uk after all it’s been cold all the seasons here. But outdoor swimming pool really gives me another level of vibes. Good point is it’s not that far from Glasgow. I’ve heard about them in newspaper. So decided to have a visit and it happens today. Specially viewing the area was amazing. After the river anyone can view mountains area and Dunoon. Anybody can get a Caribbean view vibes. Now the main point of their service and facilities. There’s no advanced booking so anyone can go and collect the ticket which is reasonable. Around the pool is a bit dirty, they suppose to keep eyes on that. The biggest disappointing is water! It’s too much salty even after a while you will feel like you were jumping in the salt ocean. Sorry to say that, and too much chemical smell from the water in the same time. Though I don’t have any idea why! But that’s really annoying tbh.

Positive experience: This was a strange experience for me. Swimming in salt water in a pool in the open air. In all though this was a pleasure. On the negative side there was a lot of bits and pieces on the bottom and so the pool could do with a good clean. On the whole though. This is an excellent experience. Many thanks.

Fantastic experience: One phenomenonal venue with an exciting summer ahead of it! Laura returns to Gourock pool as an instructor .. This was a pool in my local town all throughout my childhood and adolescence and then adulthood. It holds many amazing memories for me.

Positive experience: Heated salt-water outdoor pool and free parking on site. Lockers require a pound coin. The changing units are okay. The pool had diving board as well. I believe they offer aqua lessons and baby pool. We had a pleasant experience and would definitely recommend to visit, especially in the summer. ☀️

Negative experience: Google search page requires clearer information on the opening times and season for the outdoor pool - it looks like pool is open, but it's only the gym. Unless you actually go into the website (where you then see its closed) you end up with a wasted journey to the venue!

Fantastic experience: If you're in the west of Scotland May-September, you must go to the Gourock pool. Feel free till wait for a warm sunny day, but if the weather is less clement you'll get to experience it without the crowds.

Positive experience: It's an outdoor saltwaterpool. Went in the morning. Was great for myself and my 9yr old but my younger 2 got cold very quickly and the splash pool was closed at the time so they got bored quickly too. Large pool is a meter in depth at the shallow end. Has changing rooms and lockers. Parking right next to it was free. Cost about £20 for 2 adults and 3 kids.

Positive experience: Outdoor heated saltwater pool by the sea. On a nice day it's a great place for the kids. Lanes for swimming aswell. Only downside it can be windy which makes it feel cold outside the water and no place for a coffee.

Negative experience: Beautiful location and views. Attended the twilight swim at 10pm. The pool was extremely busy, impossible to swim. Didn’t enjoy it at all. The changing facilities looked fairly new but smelled badly. Won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: Great pool in the picturesque town of Gourock on the Firth of Clyde. Under an hour from Glasgow by train. We'll worth a visit.

Positive experience: I love spending time at the Gourick pool - the pool itself us spotless, perfect temperature, lifeguards good. I feel however that the area where the loungers/chairs are could be made much more attractive: why not use artificial turf in that whole area instead of just one small strip? a few umbrellas wouldlm look so festive.

Staff couldn't be more helpful.Place was spotless and covid restrictions were observed but did not hinder the pure enjoyment of the place.

Fantastic experience: A LOVELY EXPERIENCE. Will be making a visit to Gourock Outdoor Pool a monthly activity since visiting recently. Impressed at the cleanliness, the staff friendliness (nice smile from the girl on reception) and price for a swim. BE AWARE of the dodderers in the slow lane who enjoy having a full blown conversation in the middle of the lane. It would be good if you could have a 'non swimming' section for said dodderers to bob around in.

Negative experience: Salt water makes it pish everything else is fine

Positive experience: Really really busy, too crowded so couldn't get any space in the water. The patio area is really filthy. The picnic benches have been shoved in a corner so too close together to use. Lots of rubbish lying around. This area could definitely benefit from a thorough clean

Positive experience: super place lovely warm water hard to beat on a nice day. Staff doing their best to keep the queue moving. be aware that current system for family swimming as of 22nd July 2021 is a bit of free-for-all. so you might be waiting a while to get in.(one in , one out, sorta thing ) they've done away with the 1 hour sessions that were in operation for a while. i suspect they will return to timed sessions otherwise people stay in all day and prevent others from getting a shot. Main criticism is that the kids pool is only open 12-4.30 which is ludicrous during summer. Hours desperately need to be extended in the morning/evening .

Positive experience: Really busy. But worth the queues because the waters great on these sunny days. The night swims are a bit quieter and glorious.
