The Mount Golf and Country Club

Negative experience: So £4 for a basket of balls of dubious quality and age plus can you get a tee of a sensible height? Not a chance. Had to beg one off a fellow punter and give it back after I hit a few drives. Pathetic!

Negative experience: Not a bad course but a very poor experience made from the seriously moody guy in the pro shop… I was wearing full Nike golf clothing and he told me what I was wearing wasn’t suitable as the golf top didn’t have a collar. When he could tell I was disappointed by this he told me to ‘stop sulking’ to which I just ignored and laughed at. I was pre warned that he was rude but not to this extent. Definitely won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: Well kept course, excellent facilities. Don’t be fooled thinking it is a straightforward course, if you don’t hit the fairway you could easily lose some balls. The greens are very well kept, however quite flat. The two members of staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The bar looks a good space and the mixed grill smelled great! The club shop was full of quality products and the guy working in there was very friendly and helpful. I witnessed an unsure customer and he was helpful and not pushy at all. He was also the same with me when I was checking out the putters. Certainly considering joining!

Fantastic experience: Charity golf day. Excellent well kept golf course and a nice bar and outside seating area.

Negative experience: So yesterday I came here for a bite to eat at lunch, 12:45 with my wife and 2 children. Upon entry to the eating area/restaurant I asked the lady at the bar if they were serving food and if we could have a high-chair. She said yes that's fine and she will get us one. 13:01 No High Chair, No Menus, No Drinks, we were not asked if we wanted or needed anything no one came to the table to check on us, once we got the menu after going to the bar and getting one (which is bizarre)... The food on offer was not the sort of food that would suit a golf club in the heart of the UK in the countryside. I would not rate this place until they learn about customer service, the catering industry & menu presentation. I would be happy to come and advise them on how to improve... We left at 13:10 after no service, no drinks, nothing for a good lunch option on the menu... Oh and the hilarious thing is, there was no one else in the restaurant apart from us and two gentlemen having a coffee... Absolutely appalling!!! DO NOT GO

Fantastic experience: Great mature course

Fantastic experience: The recent weather has caused lots of courses to close and this club was no exception. The weather has also made it impossible for maintenance crews to even get on the course. It was therefore brilliant to be able to get a buggy and play this beautiful course. The course remained boggy in places but the maintenance crew had done a magnificent job in getting the greens and fairways in such good shape. Thanks to them and even the club pro Jeremy Harold , who, I have been told , has even taken his expertise to driving the tractor . Well done everybody and I look forward to many more games as the course will get back to it’s brilliant best.

Negative experience: Terrible, been a member a year, played a handful of times club always closed when open on temporary greens, played today on the temp greens they couldnt even be arsed to mow the lawns on course. Feel like iv been robbed for this membership, its lovely for 2 months in the summer. Avoid at all costs guys, theyd rather spend money on stupidness like paddle board courts than spend money on the actual course, and to top it off the food since being taken over by mount is atrocious.

Negative experience: We visited the Mount in August 2023 and had one of the best Cod peas and chips ever. It was a large piece of cod that just fell apart and chunky cut chips just like the chip shop fantastic. We were in the area in March 2024, so we thought as it was a birthday day to call in and eat. Fish and chips it is then. How disappointing. A flat frozen type piece of fish and thin chips. Don't get me wrong, it was perfectly eatable but far far away from the quality of the previous meal. Sorry for the poor review. But this is the findings from the second visit some 6 months apart.

Fantastic experience: Had our end of year Awards ceremony there 2023-24 Food was Great, good service and the bunker is fitted out nice the kids played outside on the play area .

Fantastic experience: Brilliant food and atmosphere, Matheus served us he was fantastic, very polite and helpful we will definitely be returning.

Positive experience: *Restaurant review only* Ordered a large and small mixed grill for take away. Food took 40 minutes later than we were told and they had forgotten the portion of chips. They apologised for the delay which we weren’t too bothered about anyway, however they then mentioned they’d given us extra fish to compensate for the delay, which was appreciated but when we got home, there was nothing more provided. Tastes as expected and was good quality, but the portion sizes are not as big as other places and the price is steep for the service and amount of food provided. If you’re a mixy lover, you're better off going to Desi Yew Tree for value for money.

Fantastic experience: Been to play crazy golf, which was an excellent course. Stayed for lunch in the members restaurant and the food was amazing. Recommend the Lebanese mix grill, which was delicious. Staff where very friendly. Even the members, where very welcoming and friendly

Fantastic experience: Went to play Adventure Golf here on Bank Holiday Monday. Golf was reallg good fun and we stayed for lunch afterwards. The food is Indian cuisine, it is good value and absolutely amazing! I had the mixed grill (picture shown) which was delicious and my wife had a chicken tikka naan wrap, which she also realy enjoyed. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: Attended an event for the day. The newly refurbished restaurant was amazing. The food was delicious with a great choice. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Mateus and Damien who ensured everyone was catered for and we all had a great day. Crazy golf was so much fun !

Negative experience: Very small course if it's even slightly busy it can delay your game by quite a bit. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to try any of the food there but the course itself I'd very boring

Positive experience: Good golf course. Nicely looked after and a nice little club house that serves food. There is a dinosaur crazy golf course around the back which is fun to visit with the little ones. It takes around an hour to go around but is well worth a visit

Positive experience: Very tidy course which presents challenges for golfers of all abilities. Theres a driving range here as well as an area for Chipping, putting & bunker practice. It's all open to visitors too. There's a sports bar with plenty of TVs showing sports on sky, TNT, Amazon etc & they serve food ranging from pizza to curries & tandoori grills.

Fantastic experience: Great family place or for a group of friends. Good fun for all ages. Mini Golf, kids play area, lounge for drink and snacks and a pool table.

Positive experience: Took my 3 year old grandson to Dino Golf this morning. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He enjoyed the dinosaurs as he is really into them. It is attached to the golf club and gym. Plenty of parking and wheelchair/pushchair friendly. There are 18 holes of differing levels of difficulty. There is a place to have a bite to eat or drink including alcohol if you want it. We didn't eat so can't comment on price or quality of food. It takes between 45 minutes and an hour to complete, depending on how many people are on the course. I would reccomend a visit, we will definitely be returning.

The theme of the crazy golf was amazing and the level of challenge is just right. Ideal for kids and adults alike. The main golf course and driving range are also fantastic for the more serious golfer. Well worth a visit.
