Anytime Fitness

Positive experience: Anytime Fitness is a decent gym with convenient 24/7 access, which is really helpful for those with busy schedules. The equipment is good and there's enough variety for most workouts. However, the gym could use some improvements in maintenance. Some of the clocks in the gym have been out of battery for a while, and it seems that small issues like this take longer to be addressed. The space can also get a bit crowded during peak hours. Overall, it's a solid gym, but there's room for improvement in the upkeep and attention to detail.

Negative experience: Too small too many members, equipment missing or broken, that's when you get a chance to use it, not worth 35 quid a month and you can't just leave once you realise it's rubbish, you have to pay 12 months membership fees, run away before you get scammed

Fantastic experience: Joined a few weeks ago and really enjoying visiting. Friendly and helpful trainers make you feel welcome and offer great practical advice including coaching sessions (optional if not your thing). Always clean and tidy, great atmosphere and some good classes to cover all needs. The 24 hour access is idea for me as I mostly have free time in the evenings. If your thinking of joining a gym, I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have been training at Anytime Fitness, Clacton for a year. I returned to weight training after an enforced lay off due to ill health. I have found the gym to be welcoming and friendly. The equipment is superb, a huge range of machines and plenty of free weights. All the staff are approachable and the gym is managed really well by a young manager who is always willing to listen. As a mature trainer I would recommend The Club to all trainers whatever their age, gender or ability. Peter Pryke

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this gym for a few years now and it has made a huge difference to my health and fitness. The staff are supportive and caring and have different areas of expertise. There is a great range of equipment and fitness machines and the gym is always clean and well maintained. I have loved attending the classes, which are included in the membership, my favourite being Pilates. Personal Training sessions are an extra cost but well worth it if, like me, you have specific needs or goals.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, plenty of equipment and it’s 24/7, it’s just so convenient to be able to go whenever you want. They have PT instructors available as a paid extra if needed. The employees are always there to help. I’ve had a few problems trying to figure out some certain machines and they have happily showed me how to use it or recommending exercises if I want to work on a certain area of my body. Plenty of showers and toilets, a get ready station with hair dryers and straighteners. Always clean and fresh. Vending machines always full, I like to get the workout shots there.They constantly have freebies to try like pre workout drinks or fruit bowls. Protein pancakes on pancake day, and they do competitions too. Just a really great gym. A*

Fantastic experience: I was worried about joining the gym I thought it might be full of really fit Lycra clad people. But I was wrong it is such an inclusive gym , the staff are friendly and the machines really good there’s a few Lycra clad hunks but that’s a bonus !

Positive experience: I would add free apples. But apart from that it’s great. I like the Clacton one better than Colchester’s I have used all of them and honestly can’t be Clacton. It’s like a community of fellow gym humans and they are for the most part all lovely members very accommodating. The only thing I struggle with is I can’t get the YouTube or google to work on the cardio machines I like a 50 minute cardio hit and a few years ago I would be able to put a YouTube video on and crack on but it just won’t do it now. Any reason why? Apart from that I love it

Positive experience: Lovely gym lovely atmosphere lovely staff, very clean and tidy. They offer great classes and have all the machines you’ll need! Only negative thing I’d say is you can’t go around 5pm-8pm as it’s so busy and you can never get on anything you have to wait a while.

Fantastic experience: Absolute pleasure to train at this gym. I've been a member for 5 years and it doesn't disappoint. The staff are welcoming and easy to talk to. The environment is one anyone can train in. You see people from the ages of 16 all the way to people in their late 80s train here which is great to see!

I see some comments about the contract situation well the staff go through the contract terms and conditions when you sign up so maybe they should pay attention when the staff are going through the terms and conditions. Also it's a nice and clean gym and plenty of equipment to choose from fitness to weights and 24/7 access even better !!

Negative experience: SCAMMERS!!!! Went in asking for a months membership, they handed me a contract which I signed, then finding out a month later that it was a 12 month contract. Been stuck for almost a year paying when I haven’t lived there in 10 months. Do not give these people your money and PLEASE check before you sign anything as they are untrue to their word. Slippery, deceitful and unprofessional. Staff are never there either. THEY ARE AFTER YOUR MONEY

Negative experience: Quite possibly the worst experience of cancelling a membership in my life. Turns out the one month cancellation notice is infact a one month payment notice. Make the process to cancel beyond complicated just to try and scam people into a contract they still don't want.

Fantastic experience: Went there to try out with a three day pass. Lauren dealt with me and she was excellent throughout the three days. Really clean gym with loads of showers. Whether you’re looking for cardio, racks or machines, you’ll be fine, there is so much equipment here and it is all really well maintained. Generally, the staff were all really friendly and helpful too. So good, I took out an annual contract straight away! …. and if you’re driving, 4 hrs free parking behind the gym.

Negative experience: Scammers, just awful. Don't honour contract of providing refund if cancelled during 14-day cooling-off period. Get fit elsewhere.

Negative experience: Too over price and the lockers are small so I'm most currently my bag around with me also and the hair drys are out side of charging rooms were over people are walking past near the gym,also some off the gym stuff are a bit rude and not welcoming and in the showers there's no mats on the floors were I nearly sliding over the floor

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym 24 hours open works for me . A good selection of machines, plus a big free weight area . It's mostly clean ,but it can get untidy if you're in the gym early like I am at 3 or 4 am . But it does get cleaned up when the staff get in . There is always a cleaner in at 6 or 7 am. every day ,so toliets and showers are cleaned in the morning daily and again late afternoon /evening. I would recommend this gym to anyone . Well done.
