Badgemore Park

Positive experience: Absolutely superb service from beginning to end for a lovely luncheon this week. Great food, served quickly and great value. My only slight concern was that I had to part with my bank card for the entire duration of my visit in order to keep a tab open for my family. I've never had to do this anywhere else. I've only ever completed a holding transaction in other restaurants and pubs in order to secure the expenditure. One would hope that ALL Badgemore staff who have access to the till where my card was stored are trustworthy. We would return but I'd be hesitant to use this system of payment again.

Fantastic experience: Badgemore Park Golf Club was the perfect wedding reception venue! The setting was absolutely stunning, with beautiful grounds that made for incredible photos and a warm, elegant atmosphere inside. The staff went above and beyond—they were so attentive to every detail that we never had to ask for a thing. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of, and they kept everything running smoothly all evening. If you’re looking for a wedding venue that combines a gorgeous location with exceptional service, Badgemore Park is it!

Fantastic experience: Badgemore Park was amazing as the venue for our wedding celebration, the grounds are very beautiful and the whole team was fantastic! From the moment we met Carina, the wedding planner, we had total confidence in her, which proved right as she's put a lot of time, effort and attention to detail into the organisation. She's been all these months on top of everything and very patient when we have been slow or indecisive. The food was outstanding: many guests told us this was the best food they've ever had at a wedding and we agree! Including meals for people with dietary requirements. Sophie, Peter, Alex, and the rest of the team were very welcoming, kind, patient and accommodating on the day despite a large crowd. We highly recommend this venue, our wedding day was perfect thanks to the team and we couldn't have asked for more. Additionally, we stayed at the bed and breakfast: rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was very good

Fantastic experience: Overnight stay 5 mins drive from Helney On Thames. Lovely dog friendly room in annex attached to golf course. Very clean and tidy. Bed big and comfortable. Breakfast in the clubhouse/bar was really nice and staff very efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Fantastic experience: We have stayed at Badgemore Park twice now. The last time, was ahead of my mother's funeral in Henley. I cannot express fully how wonderful all the staff are there and particularly Charlotte, who brought a caring, but fun element to what was an emotionally challenging time. The room is perfect for comfort, items required and for calmness. The breakfast is delicious and the whole atmosphere of the place is exceptional. All our close family arrived for lunch before the funeral and were looked after admirably. THANK YOU.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous break away ! Lovely venue - extremely comfortable beds and very clean . Food , though simple was quite delicious - in fact the tastiest burger I’ve ever had ! Staff were all very attentive and welcoming . There were building works being carried out which were rather loud but compensated for the inconvenience which was unexpected and very kind gesture. Will be revisiting for Sunday lunch and party nights in the future aswell as the odd night away

Fantastic experience: Badgemore Park is a great public course - challenging for the good amateur golfer without being overly punitive (although missing into the fescue is a significant risk on many holes). There are a lot of dog legs that are somewhat problematic for those who don’t know the course so consider some advance prep if you want to avoid distance errors (as I had on a few holes). But the fairways and greens (and bunkers) are in excellent shape making for a really enjoyable round. The course is easily walked so no cart needed. I’ll definitely come back.

Fantastic experience: Carina and her team did a fantastic job for our wedding day, they accommodated everything we wanted and we and our guests had a fantastic day. The food was excellent and many guests commented how lovely it was. If you are looking for a lovely wedding venue with great organisation then you should certainly consider Badgemore Pk. Fantastic experience: Great club. Lovely Clubhouse. Great atmosphere, barstaff and service. Very attentive and helpful proshop staff. Excellent golf professional.

Positive experience: A complex course with lots of doglegs requiring precise tee shots to have any shot at many of the greens. Generally in good condition although many of the greens were rock hard and rather bumpy. After five rounds I worked out which greens you could actually play a shot to and have any chance of stopping, and which you had to just drop the ball way short and cross your fingers. Outstanding value with 25 pound fees after 4pm and 15 pound buggies. Speed of play generally good. Nice clubhouse and friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Recently returned from a 2 night stay at Badgemore Park and just wanted to say how wonderful our stay was. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful , check in was quick and the breakfast outstanding , nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The room was spotlessly clean and excellent value and the bed very comfortable with all the amenities we would want. We will certainly stay with you again and recommend it to our friends.

Fantastic experience: Our wedding last week was absolutely amazing, we both put this down to not only having a wonderful venue to celebrate in but also this would count for nothing if it was not for Carina and her team. From the very first viewing and meeting to the day of the wedding, we felt we were a priority and any questions in between were answered knowingly through experience and knowledge. If you are even contemplating the tiniest bit to potentially have a wedding (or any other function) then I would urge you to go and take a visit and you will soon be in the capable hands of Carina, Peter and the amazing Chef. Fantastic experience: Wir haben vom 17.03.24 auf den 18.03.2024 zu dritt eine Nacht vom dort verbracht. Zimmer Nummer 4. Die Zimmer waren sehr süß eingerichtet, ruhig und sauber! Die Angestellten waren super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Der versprochene Parkplatz ist kostenfrei vorhanden, WLAN gab es auch. Das Frühstück war super, sowohl für das Auge als auch für den Magen :-) Es gab ein Hauptgericht und eine Nachspeise, die jeweils aus mehreren gewählt werden konnten. Eigentlich hatte ich mit Mehrkosten gerechnet, da wir uns mehrere Cappuccino und Tees kommen lassen haben, doch dem war nicht so. Super!

Fantastic experience: Played Badgemore for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Starting on arrival the pro shop staff were really welcoming and helpful. The locker room is clean, tidy and traditional with valuables lockers available for guests. The course was immaculate, with true quick greens and well maintained fairways and tees. Most fairways are quite wide and so the course is quite forgiving for higher handicap players while being challenging enough for better players. The 16th and 18th holes in particular stand out for the threat of water gobbling up wayward approaches - the latter requiring a well struck second over a large pond to the green, or a lay up option for those less confident. Post round welcome in the bar was second to none.

Fantastic experience: I had arranged a visit for the Porsche Club GB to the Bremont watch facility in Henley on Thames and needed to organise lunch for our party of around 15. I sent a request to Badgemore Park and quickly received a schedule of details of how they could accommodate us including a separate area and their menu. Carina their events organiser kept me informed of all details before the day of the event and I advised her of the guests menu selections. Upon arrival, the staff immediately welcomed us and knew everything of the party booking and let us to the nicely arranged table. Soon afterwards a staff member gave me name cards for every guest to put alongside them at their table placing. The food arrived and the correct food was served to each member along with arrangements for drinks. The food was excellent and service was very efficient and professional. We were advised that each guest had their own ‘tab’ including the drinks which dramatically helped my organisation for paying. This is often a difficult time for an event organiser, but Badgemore had made it all relatively easy. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to arrange an event for a few people, as every step was totally organised. A fabulous experience and I have received many emails from our guests today with their thanks.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had our wedding at Badgemore Park yesterday and we could not fault the day. From Carina’s event management to Marc, Peter & Charlotte’s service on the day. Marc went above and beyond by staying many hours past his shift end time, Peter was incredible at directing our photographer to the best beauty spots on the golf course and Charlotte ensured our guests could party into the evening. Despite it being the hottest the day of the year nothing was too much to ask and we were never aware of any issues, all our guests commended the attentiveness of all staff. The venue is beautiful, the food was amazing and the organisation was impeccable. Thank you so much for making our day so special. We could not recommend Badgemore Park as a wedding venue enough.

Fantastic experience: Very impressive place, well worth a visit.

Negative experience: Horrific. We went into the clubhouse after golf to get a drink and were treated like a nuisance, an inconvenience! It was a hot summer's day and we were very thirsty. Eventually we were permitted to buy drinks but were told firmly to "drink them quickly and get out". Charming. We won't be going back. The golf course is dreadful as well but there isn't enough space here to list all the reasons.

Fantastic experience: This golf course is quite impressive. The first hole's green can be tricky, but it adds to the excitement. Lovely views, steady pace of play, and all you need is conveniently available on-site.

Positive experience: The room was great. Really clean and had everything I needed. Convenient for golf. Food in the resteraunt is great too. Breakfast starts a little late (7am) so wasn't able to have any before leaving.

Negative experience: Stayed there on the 2nd of August for one night in room 7. The place is in beautiful surroundings. The room looked clean, until I looked in the bath tub and saw Pubic hair. The tap in the bath would only give a trickle of water, hardly enough to wash properly. I did report it. There is no closet or hangers in the room, which is ok if you are staying just one night, but no longer. 6am they start to either blow the leaves or use the lawnmower on the golf course, very noisy. If you want a relaxing weekend , this is not the place. The place seems short staffed. One person doing the check in, serving in the bar, taking food orders, serving the food. Looks unprofessional. B/fast was very late and inedible. Sour dough bread rock hard, couldn’t cut it with a knife, I was offered a steak knife to cut the bread(unbelievable). The scrambled egg was not scrambled, some cut up wet, uncooked mess of an egg, salmon smelled bad and was not fresh. Orange juice never arrived. The waiter didn’t even ask why I hadn’t touched the food nor offer an alternative. My husband had the full English, burnt bacon, half cooked sausage , asked for brown bread , got white. For £140 a night , I would have expected a half decent b/ fast.all in all , left very disappointed. Will I stay there again, the answer is NO.

Fantastic experience: I'm not a golfer but I attend meetings here quite regularly. Food is very good indeed. I've never had a bad meal here or even a so-so one. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Although I'm not a golfer, it's always full of them and the facilities, such as changing rooms etc are good. My friends who are golfers say it is a good course. Lots of car parking space. There's also some EV chargers, including one for Tesla cars.

Positive experience: First time here and impressed. Good facilities and the golf course was in good condition. Although fairly short it doesn't always play that way so a good test for all abilities. Fairways are fairly open but the greens are well protected to compensate.

Fantastic experience: Played golf here. Lovely Clubhouse with facilities of a high standard. Enjoyed the course. Especially the back nine.

Positive experience: The accommodation is in a nice setting, with nice covered seating areas overlooking the golf course, breakfast was nice and filling. It’s a 20 minute walk into town, you have to walk on the grass verge for the first half a mile or so, although a path has been worn in so not to bad. There are three electric car charging points in the car park, although only 2 were working. Obviously with only three there is a chance none will be free if arriving during the day, as happened when we arrived. But was no real problem, we went into Henley for the day and upon returning in the evening the charging points were now available so we just plugged in for the night. Only real downside was we had Room 2, which is one of I think two rooms that doesn’t have an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom itself is only two metres away across the hall, it’s just you have to go out of your room and cross the hall to get there. Having said that, I’d probably consider staying again if I was in the area.

Fantastic experience: We were made to feel so welcome on our recent stay. All the staff whether bar staff, gym staff, golf were so friendly as were the club members. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The food we had was also very tasty! We are already planning a trip back next year!

Positive experience: Really good location if visiting Henley area. On arrival staff were friendly and got us checked in quickly. We had rooms 3&7 both well appointed. Room 7 is part of what may have been an office annexe and sound insulation was not good. We could hear everything said in room 8. Other than that the room was great. Restaurant staff very friendly too although the young table wait staff forgot elements of our breakfast on both days despite having written orders down but they were soon sorted. Nice easy walk into Henley (about 25-30 minutes to the Thames)

We had a wonderful 20min walk in the sunshine to Henley on Thames, thanks to a member of staff,I think his name is Alex,who gave us directions.Our full breakfast was lovely. Room modern but a little noisy from next door or outside.

Positive experience: We chose the Badgemore Park for a long weekend in Henley. The staff at the restaurant were lovely and very friendly. Lovely location - very close to Henley, but remote and peaceful for some well deserved rest. Or so we thought... The first evening we were just starting to settle after a long and tiring day when a loud music and merry loud conversations entered the room. There was a large party in the court yard outside the restaurant and sadly our room was facing in their direction. We ended up sitting outside on the golf court on the opposite side until nearly 11pm to escape the noise. In the morning we were woken up by loud banging and voices at 8 am (this was on Saturday morning). The room bellow was being refurbished ands the workers did not feel appropriate to account for the fact that there might be people who are here to rest. As we headed for breakfast, the courtyard and restaurant hall were full of people trying to outspeak each other and creating a deafening noise. When you've had a very little sleep from the previous late night this was quite irritating.... Luckily there are plenty of places to sit outside overlooking the golf course on the opposite side and it was finally peace and quiet. For 10 minutes. Then the grass cutting man came, followed by the man that blows the grass after cutting (both big noisy machines) and then a loud music from a bootcamp class and loud motivational coaching above us. This was every morning. We realised that if we want to enjoy peace and quiet, we must be up at the crack of dawn, so we finish breakfast before 9 am. Which defeats the object of being on holiday... The room was pleasant. It looked newly decorated and had a nice feel. Very small and basic. We stayed during the heat wave and it was stifling. The room was south facing and the tiny window did not manage to get enough air to cool the room down even at night. We were unfortunate to have the room with an external bathroom. I didn't mind to start with - we've been in this situation before. Except, the previous place ensured every facility possible. The bathroom here was next room but ours. Which meant that each time we need to use it, we had to open and close two very loud doors. I felt sorry for our neighbours occupying the room in between, but no matter how quiet we tried to be, it didn't work. The bathroom again looked pleasant and freshly decorated. No hooks, no shelves where we could put our spare clothes. I complained and, although the staff were very attenuative, the manager did not fail to inform me several times that he was extremely surprised - I was the only customer to complain of the lack of hooks or shelves. Apparently nobody had this issue before me. I wondered if the rest of the customers felt equally embarrassed to raise the question as I was. And I felt very uncomfortable to be made feeling I was the "awkward" customer. However, I insisted on solution as my only alternative was to use the floor or the toilet seat and I did not find this appealing. To prove me right, my husband knocked the toilet brush holder over and the dirty water spilled over the clothes he was getting out of placed on the floor. I ended up hand washing at 1 am in the bathtub... To be fair, we were granted a whole one hook! I would hold fond memories of this stay, and was so happy to go leave...

Positive experience: What a find. We booked at the last minute and we are so glad we did. Beautiful grounds, great welcoming service, a short walk into Henley or an even quicker drive in. Really enjoyed our overnight stay and would definitely return again.

Fantastic experience: Had my small wedding at Badgemore park. The rooms were lovely. Staff were amazing! Treated us like royalty. Food was amazing we had customised afternoon tea! Then the breakfast the following morning. Would highly recommend this place for any occasion. I can’t think the staff enough.

Fantastic experience: After a few failed COVID weddings planned abroad we decided to have a UK wedding. We looked around and chose Badgemore. We met with Carina who from day one made us feel at ease and took so much stress and pressure away from us. Leading up to the event we were in discussions most days and nothing was to much trouble. On the day it went with ease the food was lovely and the staff were incredible!!! If you are thinking of having your wedding here you won't be disappointed. Again Carina and team well done.

Positive experience: Absolutely wonderful staff, fantastic facilities, beautiful food and a gorgeous terrace in the sun. Bar is a tad expensive which is expected I suppose but I wouldn't recommend participating in any round here that isn't golf. Rooms were lovely and clean, very well kept and had all necessary amenities. Only reason for not having a 5 star review from me is simply down to lawn mowers and groundworks/maintenance being undertaken at 6am right outside our window which we had to have open due to the room being very hot which in turn, set our cameramans hay-fever off (we are a film crew) and that set him up for a bad day from the get go. We should have known beforehand having already seen a skip just outside our room, but we didn't think to close the window assuming it wouldn't be happening as early. Anyway, all in all, a lovely stay, comfortable and clean... just don't work late if they have any maintenance to do. Thanks ☺️

Stayed in room 6 and was very pleased with the standard and equipment of the room, very clean spotless. Breakfast was equally impressive and attentive service. Would I stay here again absolutely yes and hopefully another game of golf. Genuine lovely place and lovely staff

Fantastic experience: Great place for relaxing getaway. Have a drink or two with friends and family, stay over at their B&B, enjoy wonderful breakfast and also stroll around their golf course if you are not actually playing it.

Fantastic experience: Great golf course with plenty of variety to the holes. Always in good shape, even in the dead of winter and management look to improve the course every year. Clubhouse is nice and serves Neckoil on draught which is instantly a success for me. Food is very good there. Gym on site although I haven't used so I can't review.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, amazing course which is a challenge for all levels. Played it which an assistant pro from my golf club and he struggled with it...he shot 79! Course is in amazing condition and in my opinion puts Henley in the shade by a mile.

Fantastic experience: Super venue, great restaurant/ bar run by Peter & Jack, made me welcome when I just stayed there a couple of nights in family room 8 visiting family locally. Tasty full english breakfast in classy bar. Dog friendly place too, local.woodland walks plus an adventurous 'ridgeway'. Comfy accomodation at Badgemoor hotel too- thank you Julie.( Great hard working friendly cleaning team too) There is an awesome golf course and health gym / classes here if youre in the mood. Positive experience: Lovely setting Lovely clean room,the only thing that was a bit off putting was the fact the bathroom was separate to our room which was stated when we booked I may add but because a conference centre too was a bit off putting going from bedroom to the bathroom!!.also if you want a lie in not so good as people working downstairs !! Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful Christmas lunch at Badgemore Park. There were nearly 40 of us for our Christmas lunch. The food was delicious, with great menu choices. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, both on the day and helping to organise the event. They made a real effort and it felt very Christmassy! They were also very good at helping us feel safe in these difficult Covid times.

Fantastic experience: Shiplake WI thoroughly enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch at Badgemore Park. From the warm welcome by Carina and the whole team right through to coffee and mince pies the atmosphere, organisation and service were excellent. The meal was tasty, hot and plentiful. We also appreciated the finishing touches such as the beautifully-presented guest name cards and the central table vases that didn’t block the view of the person sitting opposite. Well done Badgemore - we have already booked for next year!

Positive experience: Nice course but you need to put signs up for the holes with bells on. One of the early ones didn't have it and we had some snooty member try to give us a dressing down as we weren't members. Very unwelcoming attitude.

Positive experience: First time here. Nice open parkland course. A few challenging dog leg holes and long par 3's. Only one par 5. Benefit of buying a snack between 9th & 10th hole, more clubs should provide such a facility.

Positive experience: First time played this course and enjoyed very much tee boxes and greens in super condition but the fairways were too short and patches of mud showing where the mowers had been but overall definitely on our list to go back too
