Fantastic experience: very busy and quite cramped during peak hours, nonetheless decent gym

Fantastic experience: Amazing climbing centre in central London. The place is very accessible, 3 mins away from tube station. Not too crowded and climbers are very respectful and mindful of the space. They do make you watch a safety video if you are first timer and have to answer a few questions to get registered but I think that’s really good as it made sure that we know the basic knowledge of climbing and minimise the chances of injury.

Simone Appel 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: I cannot express how much I LOVE EustonWall - amazing team, all the staff are incredibly kind and build a really welcoming environment and community. Everyone is incredibly supportive :) A special thank you to Kamran for being a huge help in choosing a new pair of climbing shoes, he’s really knowledgeable and was able to give great advice. Route setters are doing a great job here at coming up with exciting and creative problems! have been coming here for almost 2 years now and so glad I found this gym in the first place!! also coffee is very tasty!

Fantastic experience: Quite a small climbing centre but has really great problems. Really good walls, clean changing rooms.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful climbing centre. I went with family to a private session to see whether my young nephew would enjoy learning to climb as he is a natural climber. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And the staff member we had was fantastic with my nephew, giving him all the encouragement he needed. The climbing centre was really nice and clean and the locker rooms were really nicely set up. The other climbers there were friendly and were happy to share routes without a fuss, which makes the place feel welcoming and comfortable. I would recommend this centre to people with experience and people without experience, and definitely to anyone looking at getting a child involved with climbing.

Fantastic experience: Yes, it gets busy after work time, but I genuinely think there is no issue with that. There is still enough space. As a beginner, I found everything to be interesting, fun and clean. The staff is fantastic too. So I do not think that there is a better climbing centre in the heart of London! Thank you, EustonWall

Positive experience: Great place but always very busy and they don’t really put capacity limit.

Fantastic experience: Solid bouldering gym right in the centre. Nice staff, decent routes. Grades are a bit wild at the lower end.

Positive experience: Small, but with very good setting.

climb_boulder_ mountain 1 year ago

Positive experience: Useful location, nice staff. But very, very small. Understandably on the busy evening I visited it was one-in, one-out. Grading was all over the place with wildly under and over graded problems in the same V-bracket. V6 in there seems to fit anywhere between soft V4 and hard V7/8. Setting was generally interesting and varied though. I've rarely seen a wall in greater need of issuing every member with a brush and instructions on how and when to use it. Also staggeringly expensive for such a small facility.

Fantastic experience: Very fun boulders and lots of tools for training. It does get a bit hot in there, a fan would be nice.

Positive experience: Very helpful staff but the facilities are slightly limited and can get very cramped. They only gender neutral toilet and changing area with a couple privacy cubicles but the cubicles lack hooks and surfaces to put things on and the there are only 3 toilets which can get quite busy. Nice and varied climbing walls though!

Positive experience: Love it! But far from my usual climbing centres and busy after working hours but always a blast and staff are amazingly nice!

Fantastic experience: It was the best climbing gym I ever climbed at in my life

Ruwan Ramdeen 1 year ago

Positive experience: 1st time at Eustonwall , nice walk from either regent park, portlands street or Warren Street. Great bouldering problems and staff are nice. Unisex changing rooms , with lockers , toliets and shower which are good condition. Towel are available to hire with added cost. Great centre otherwise ✌️

Positive experience: Good walls- does feel a bit expensive but that comes with being in central london

Jack Perchick 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I didn't have time to go for a climb but I was just walking by and decided to have a look. The staff are super friendly and really helpful. The climbs all look really well set and the training equipment looks great. I would highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Seb Patient 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Ive popped here a few times as it is close to Euston station. The gym is clean and tidy and has great natural lighting which is rare for gyms! All the times I have gone the staff have been lovely. Great climbs and off the wall facilities. The comp wall to the right of the desk is a highlight and every time I have gone there has always been lots of good setting. The kilter is tucked away in a different room which I could imagine would make it less approachable for beginners, it is also fixed at 40°. But its clean and well kept.

Positive experience: Small climbing gym. Great location and perfect for an after work climb to unwind. The only issue is that it does get quite cramped during peak hours but its saving grace is that it’s open late and extremely convenient. It is pricey though at £16 a session during peak hours.

Fantastic experience: Alice was very helpful over the phone finding my lost property! :)

Joseph Evans 1 year ago

Positive experience: Good/fun routesetting, nice staff but it gets way too busy for the lack of space. To the point where you cant stand a safe distance from some of the walls due to the crowds. Also the changing rooms are cramped and get overcrowded very quickly. Also almost no room to warm up or stretch, they have a second room across the way but its all weight training equipment packed in so the only real area is a large wardrobe with a mirror and some yoga matts. I appreciate the rent must be rediculous but getting as many people in and overcrowding in such a small gym kinda ruined the experience for me.

Jamie Danemayer 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Lovely place, gets busy after work hours but always a good vibe and well staffed.

Winston L 1 year ago

Positive experience: Good walls and challenging progressions. Good off peak and concession prices. Gets extremely crowded sometimes.

Gregor Weimar 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great inclusive atmosphere with the friendliest of staff! The climbing area is nice in its diversity of walls. The whole facilities are well looked after, including a nice gym area across in the other building. What makes it really nice, as in all other LCC venues, is the kind and open atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Larry Liu 1 year ago

Positive experience: First experience in a climbing gym within London. Staff is friendly and all “first time climbing at this gym” forms can be completed online. Entrance fee for peak time is quite steep. 18 euros. They have a small selection of drinks for sale. Change rooms are unisex, there are lots of lockers and it’s safe enough to have it without a lock. It’s a small but comfortable venue. It was peak time so it was slightly difficult to find a spot to sit and rest after a climb but everyone was generally quite friendly. Perhaps this is the convention in London, but I dislike the visual indicator of the grading system. You have to go up to each route to determine what V grade it is. Back home, we had coloured tape marking on each route to indicate the grade. There was more slab than overhang but there was a generous number of routes. There are shoes for sale and for rental. I borrowed the gyms liquid chalk as I didn’t travel with any. The biggest pro is how late it stays open!

Luca Talio 1 year ago

Positive experience: There was a massive queue outside which should suggest it's good. But pretty long to go into London only to queue for ages. Probably not as bad if you live close by.

Rach Wong 1 year ago

Positive experience: Smallest wall gym of them all. Really great location but usually crowded and hard to climb during peak hours. The setting is OK, hard to find climbs in the v4 range for some reason. Fairly expensive for such a small gym and the lockers are quite small if you have more than a backpack.

Fantastic experience: Excellent and friendly gym. Challenging runs and a decent gym space. The in-house physio is good too.

Fantastic experience: Excellent wall lots of fun climbing. Would highly recommend, the only thing is that they don't have any food apart from snacks so make sure you bring your own lunch/dinner. The climbing is awesome tho

Positive experience: This is the 3rd LCC I have been to in a month and it is my second favorite (tough choice, really depending on the day, crowd and sets). Location: is central, both good (convenient) and bad (touristic). Space: compact but efficiently used; one main area 2 walls where there are caves and overhangs; a separate room across the pathway situates the weights, rolling machines etc and Moonboard/Kilter boards, plus a slab wall. Good lighting. Crowds: friendly, with good climbing etiquette. I also benefiting from going in on a Sat morning 10ish, beating the crowds. And had the Kilterboard (bonus!) all to myself most of the time (2 hrs~). I can see it could be unpleasantly crowded during peak hours, e.g. after work, late afternoon etc. Grading: feels comparable to Bethwall but tougher than VauxWall East. Albeit compact, the problem set (V4+) are well curated; I especially like the slabs. Def see myself rotating between Euston and BethWall :)

Freddie 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Nice gym, good route setting. A little small and quite crowded

Monochrome Pen 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Good city indoor climbing gym (bouldering only) Pretty packed at peak time, but has a reasonable number of routes for a bouldering gym in central London. Note there is a second part to the gym across the road, with a few more routes, a kilter board, and some gym equipment, but you should ask a staff member to get in.

Philip Gardiner 1 year ago

Positive experience: First time at this centre (bouldered for a few years) found the staff very welcoming and friendly on arrival and happy to help answer any questions. Nice to have problems set as individual grades rather than the normal range of grades allocated to colours. Route setting was good and accurate to the grades I thought. I was there at peak evening time so was pretty crowded at first but soon eased off a bit later on into the evening. Bring your own padlock for the changing room lockers (luckily I did but many newcomers might not) It's clearly a small centre so the price did seem high (£15) compared to what I'm used to in Yorkshire. Will definitely go again as I got a half price voucher for a second visit, hopefully they'll have reset a load of the problems by the time I go again. All in all a good centre, good music and general good vibes from the staff and customers.

Positive experience: Very good. Gets extremely crowded when busy

Cédric Tiberghien 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Very nice climbing center, a few steps from Euston Station. Not very large (2 rooms) but very nice routes with a lot variety and very friendly staff. Good selection of V2-V4 but some much harder ones. Will get back for sure!

Fantastic experience: honestly one of the best gyms i’ve ever attended! the climbs are all amazing, the layout is perfect, the fact they have a weights room and a kilterboard?! and the staff are so lovely and supportive. the energy is absolutely phenomenal. big shoutout to alice, kate and yasmine tonight!

Zoe De Smet 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: We were visiting from Italy and my teenager took a class. He enjoyed it a lot and learned new techniques. Great facility and good instructor.

James Archer 1 year ago

Negative experience: I get that you state that it's more popular and therefor more busy, but simultaneously I don't see any discounts for off-peak tickets as other climbing centres have done to tackle this problem. The combination of super crowded and weirdly warm/sweaty/slippery makes for some dangerous circumstances in the pursuit of more money and less focus on customer quality experience. Someone severely hurt their shoulder within five minutes of arriving, and I can see why. Mixed with the premium price for a non-premium gym makes it feel like the lemon might be getting squeezed a bit hard on this one.

EustonWall Climbing Centre

Hi James, thanks for the honest feedback, we really do appreciate it. We have off-peak pricing and times listed on our website; off-peak entry saves you over 25% on peak pricing. We even have a Super Off-Peak evening where climbing is just £6! However, weekday evenings are always likely to be popular and we do accept that this means we won't be to everyone's taste. Part of our popularity comes from our prime location, making us one of the most conveniently-located gyms in London. Unsurprisingly, this location commands premium rent, while we also invest heavily in routesetting, new holds, gym equipment, training boards, and our staff to further provide a premium experience in central London. We will certainly take your feedback onboard, and hope you'll return to us or another LCC gym in the future.

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere and wall. Good student discount makes it feasible. Lovely staff.

Joanna F 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Friendly bunch - instructor was great. If you’re new to bouldering I recommend going for their induction class that teaches you both how to climb and how to fall, which is equally important vs. climbing.

Max Orel 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Nice place. Quite stuffy and dusty during the weekdays in the evenings. Though, if you come in the Saturday morning - that’d be an amazing time spent. Overhang routes are my most enjoyable ones in this gym.

AS 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: One of the smaller centres but a good one. Good range of climbs and different strength/technique required for them. There aren't changing rooms though- and even the locker area is quite cramped. If you want to change here your only options are to change in a toilet cubicle or a wet shower cubicle.

Jason Hall 1 year ago

Positive experience: It’s a nice climbing centre in keeping with the rest of the LCC locations. Big mark down however for the amount of people they admit around 6pm - there’s way too many here and you’re queueing for every boulder or piece of equipment. They really need to limit the amount of people at these peak times as it’s nowhere near value for money.

EustonWall Climbing Centre

Hey Jason, thanks for the review. Ultimately our central location means we're very popular in weekday evenings. We carefully monitor this and aim to find the right balance between capacity within the centre and waiting times for those not yet inside. We're also keen to highlight the short journey to other wonderful centres in the LCC family, including BethWall (30 mins) and VauxWest/East (20 mins) where your punchcards/memberships/registration are all valid.

Positive experience: This is a nice climbing gym. Funky walls and great gym equipment. It's not very big and can get busy but worth a visit.

Di Luc 1 year ago

Positive experience: Quite a small gym but they've made use of the space well. The setting is good and I like how they stopped using the colour grading system, makes the climbs more interesting. Only drawback is that when it gets busy its difficult to climb.

Positive experience: Staff was very nice, but it was very busy and not too big in size. The walls were also a bit shaky in places. Still a very nice climbing gym in the heart of London.

Fantastic experience: Haven’t climbed here just yet but popped in yesterday to try out some shoes. I had the best experience with Olive who was super nice and so very patient in helping me find my first pair of climbing shoes. Fi was also super helpful and gave lots of tips. Definitely looking forward to my first climb at Eustonwall!

Dr Mike 1 year ago

Positive experience: Overall it's a great climbing gym. There are good routes and decent facilities. The gym area has everything you need for a full workout. Only downside is that it's incredibly busy. A lot of the time you're waiting to get on a route. It may have something to do with an apparent meet up while I was there. They kind of took over. Other than that, it's grand.

Positive experience: Based on a one time entrance during holiday in London: +Personnel was really friendly and helpful +Good training equipment -Rather expensive for one time -Cramped up facility -Rental shoes very worn out (good model though) I'm glad I visited, but next time I'll try another gym

BenMark235 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Modern climbing gym on the smaller side of things due to its central London location. The staff when I visited on Monday 04/09/2023 were super friendly and set the tone for the rest of the gym; everyone I chatted with was super chill and helpful. While on the smaller side, there was a good variety of wall angles, with plenty of slab, vert and overhang, with a small cave also. The setting was interesting and fun :). There is also a fixed 40° kilter board across from the main area for climbing, so you won't run out of boulders even if you complete all the problems at your climbing grade. Speaking of, there was a good spread of boulder difficulty from V0 to V8 ish if I remember correctly. The only complaint I can think of would be a lack of a campus board, which is generally industry standard. Again, a good gym on the smaller side with lovely staff and customers. Highly recommend.

Mark Coleman 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Incredible spot for 1st timers (like myself) who want to learn how to boulder in a friendly, safe environment. The staff are down to earth, super approachable, and eager to help. I can't recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful staff around the entire centre. Well set problems that are graded pretty accurately as well as holds that aren't too outdated. Very clean through the entire centre including toilets and changing room. Other climbers also always seemed up for talking and discussing climbs and having a laugh. Would recommend this LCC gym :)

Positive experience: Nice little wall, the setting is a little on the hard side so what you may be able to do in another gym, you may find slightly too hard (v3 in local gyms is a v1/2 here). Was very busy when I was here and there's not a lot of room to sit or stretch though it's mainly a time issue. Will use again

Fantastic experience: Eustonwall is the newest in the London Climbing Centres and its completely amazing with state of the arts facilities. Although the space is small, the routes are changed frequently so you are never bored! The grading is especially challenging (for me I guess) and you can find any styles cater to your preferences. They also have a Kilter board, a wood board that can be changed to any grade, an entire gym section with equipments and stretching area. It's definitely one of my favourite climbing gyms!

Negative experience: This wall just has far too many visitors. I left soon after arriving since it's just way too packed, sad.

EustonWall Climbing Centre

Hi Lucas, sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your visit with us. As you experienced (and perhaps what drew you to us in the first place!), our central location means we're pretty popular at peak times! We do monitor capacity and attempt to strike a balance between occasional wait times at those busy moments and capacity inside the centre. If that balance isn't right for you, perhaps one of our sister sites like HarroWall (up the Metropolitan line and London's largest bouldering centre) may offer a bit more space. Your registration card/punches are valid there. Alternatively, we open early and our off-peak times are typically much quieter. Hope to see you back climbing with us or another LCC gym in the future.

Fantastic experience: I was fortunate enough to visit during a quiet part of the day, so didn’t experience the overcrowding issues common to many reviewers. Small but well-thought-out gym with lots of fun problems in the beginner to intermediate grades. I had a lot of fun, found the staff friendly, but unfortunately the coffee machine was down when I visited, so I can’t grade their coffee.

Fantastic experience: Lovely little place, but gets very busy. Nice for a quick climb, but if you need more routes and options, if youre an advanced climber, one of the other centres are bigger, it is still lovely for a quick climb and I'm sure certain times of the day are not as busy.
