Fantastic experience: Great Gym with great equipments. Friendly atmosphere.

Negative experience: 6-8 WEEKS and the SAUNA IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. It’s a shame, we’re still paying for everything why not make sure all equipment and services are available to use. Management needs to wake up - this is ridiculous
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience members have experienced with the sauna. We understand how frustrating it can be when amenities don’t function as expected and further apologise if we have not provided sufficient evidence of the steps we have been taking for the repair. Initially the sauna was vandalised and we had to wait for parts to repair it, which we did. It was fine for a few days and then we had electrical problems. This may or may not be linked to the original saboteur. Electricians were called in and they checked all connections etc. The sauna worked for a couple of days and then continually tripped. Electricians called in again. Switch changed and then it worked for a few days and then started tripping again. Another electrician who has told us we needed to replace the elements. We are now in possession of the elements and are waiting for a technician to fit them. I think anyone would be hard pressed to disagree that we have taken as much action as we possibly can. I would also like to gently remind you that we are a fitness facility and that the sauna is an added benefit. Please see legal information on the facilities offered below: Facilities: a. The Club has the right to add/change/modify the facilities from time to time in line with business trends or for the good of the facility. b. The Club may, at any time, withdraw all or any part of facilities for other activities as in connection with repair, alteration or maintenance work. c. The use of the sauna (if available) is an added benefit and does not construe part of membership. The privilege of using the sauna may be revoked for any member who does not adhere to the rules and etiquette pertaining to the use of the sauna which could include a complete withdrawal of membership to The Club (see point 8. Sauna) We will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure that the sauna operates smoothly once the replacement elements are installed. If you encounter any further issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team which is far more effective than leaving a bad review and also please be honest in your reviews, it has not been even close to 4 weeks, let alone 6-8.
Positive experience: Love the gym i got twice, soon to be 3 times a week. The only issue i have is the parking. There is no where near by other than right outside the front which is always full. I parked in the Lidl car park across the way for an hours session and got fined for it. DO NOT PARK THERE!! it will cost you £45 in fines. Now i have to find some dark road to park down and hope i don't have my wheels stolen before i got back. Im not even joking, its that sort of area.
Fantastic experience: I drive past 4 seperate gyms ( where i was a member at once) to attend this gym and thats because I love it . The gym has everything you need including a sauna. The price is absolutely amazing in fact i sometimes feel im ripping the owners off.

Negative experience: Great gym when it actually opens. The amount of times I have been there for opening at 6am and waited until 06:20, still no sign of opening, I have lost count.. Pretty unprofessional especially when it's my only time available to train in a day, throws my entire routine off...
Hello Gaslee, if you are going to leave a review, please be honest. This was a one off unfortunate incident and we are very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. Our Team are human beings (which is part of what makes the gym a lovely place to work out) and so sometimes things go wrong. We can only apologise and do our best to ensure this does not happen again.
Fantastic experience: This has been my home gym for over 10 years, the owners are lovely, the equipment is good and most of all for me the atmosphere is friendly. The staff are helpful. I definitely recommend bactive.

Negative experience: Arrived at the gym excited to join but as soon as I stepped in through the entrance I was greeted by the stench of human waste. The lady at the counter couldn't give me a straight answer as to when this issue would be resolved probably because judging by another reviewer it wont be any time soon as this has been going on for months now. Suffice to say I left with a bad taste in my mouth or should i say smell through my nose. Unless you like working out in the smell of sewage I would look for another gym.
Hello Riaz, this was horrendous for us as a business as we had no control over the situation. We were at the mercy of Severn Trent who insisted it was not their problem and only after us complaining constantly and then getting several shops to do the same did they sort out the problem which turned out to be a major blockage and specialized equipment had to be brought in to sort it out. Many members where understanding and sympathetic and we are very thankful for their support.
Negative experience: I have been attending for over a year at this gym and it was going great until the waste pipe from the upstairs changing room showers and toilets started leaking on the main gym floor. This occurred about 5-6 months ago. Now most the gym smells foul and damp. It's very hard to workout when you're heavily breathing in the stench. They need to invest in maintaining the building and plumbing or at least do something about the smell. It's getting unbearable now
Hello, to add more detail to my response to the previous reviewer regarding the bad odour: We checked everything in the building, had several different tradespeople out doing repairs, we called Severn Trent, they insisted it had nothing to do with them. We were at the point where we were going to dig up the free weights floor to get to the pipework as Severn Trent insisted it was not their problem but then we noted that Lidl and had a similar problem so we persisted with Severn Trent. We were right in doing so as it was their problem (that resulted in us having a huge problem!). The leak was not repaired as we were told we may need to remove the refuse pipe which meant redoing the roof again. Once the blocked drains problem was sorted, we redid the roofing etc. It was a very difficult time for us and for our members but we are grateful it is all sorted out and I don't believe it was 5-6 months, more like 3-4 weeks. Apologies this had such a negative impact on your workout.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym been a member for over 8 years. Very nice to train in as people mind their own business so you can get on with your own workout comfortably. Staff have always been amazing.
Fantastic experience: The most affordable gym in the area, especially for everything included in your membership. You get a free induction, which I assumed would just be a quick show around of the equipment but I was shown how to use every single machine, how to use the correct form, and given a routine I can choose to follow if I wish. I would really recommend requesting Jamal for your induction as he's so motivating and helpful! You also get a free PT session each month - again, mine was with Jamal and he's an absolute credit to this gym. He made me, my friend, and my sister all so welcome and comfortable, and now we all feel like we can keep up a routine and know what we're doing each time we go - ideal for those that are new to the gym. It is fairly small inside, but has basically everything you need and is never too packed that you can't use what you need to use. It's kept nice and clean, the staff are so welcoming and kind, and the general vibe is nicer than any other gym I've been to.
Fantastic experience: Recently joined as advice from my physiotherapist very welcoming and friendly place the staff are professional and very helpful. The gym and other areas are brilliant lots of different equipment for every type of body and age. My first time ever going to a gym and I'm happy I did. Thankyou to all the team.

Fantastic experience: b-active is a really well-equip gym for anything you're hoping to do whether it's circuits, weight-training, cardio or calisthenics. The gym is really good value for money, it has a friendly atmosphere and you can get free PT sessions - my PT is Jamal and he's awesome and really motivates me to go to the gym outside our PT sessions, which really push me! Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: It's clean, covid19 put in place, sanitiser and wipes all round the place, no trouble, people are polite, and the staff there can't be faulted, all staff to what I've seen so far are happy, helpful and polite.

Negative experience: I joined this gym in January and yesterday on 6/03/2018 l had again the "plesure" to interact with the manager that AGAIN was very rude and beyond of any profesional attitude. I have choosed the £15.00 one due my late scheduale,but because my rota changed, I'm running to be in time before 4:30. I succeed to arrive at 4:31 and of course l approched the desk. Was the manager with one of the personal talking, ignoring me for 10 minutes standing right in front of them. I explained that was about a minute and he said that l can't enter because in 30 min l had to leave the gym. I said that for this month maybe l can get the refund because l cant use it. The Manager said that is impossible,l should canceled 30 days prior. Was 5 pm and me already fuming. I asked him to charge me for the full amount and to cancel my memberships because l wont come back to use this gym.He said to come back after 15/03 to remind him. Was one minute and the attitude that he was giving to me l couldn't find it professional. When l joined,the trainer who did my pass said that before 5pm l can enter and nobody will send me away. I felt humiliated. Not polite,not helpful,not professional. If he was the manager,maybe he could place a sign visible in this "luxurious" gym if the rules are so strict. I wont recomand to anybody this gym. Poor service,unprofessional management, not the best in town defenetly.

Fantastic experience: This is a nice, quiet gym (at the times that I attend). The personal trainers are all really nice people and offer help and advice whenever it is needed. There is plenty of equipment for whatever workout you're doing with the added benefit of a sauna and sun-beds. I highly recommend this gym.
