PureGym Derby Kingsway Retail Park

Positive experience: Decent gym could still do with more equipment though. The app is complicated to use have to type my pin in constantly at the barriers as doesn’t work when you try to scan it.

Fantastic experience: Pure Gym ... Has all the things you need. Was very busy but we did go at peak times. Pretty clean and machines all seemed to be in good order.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym in Kingsway Derby, fantastic choice of classes, well maintained machines and friendly staff and gym-goers alike. Even in the un-staffed hours the gym feels safe. There are emergency phones and defibrillators available. One of the best in Derby and has free parking available at the retail park (refer to signs for the limits etc).

Fantastic experience: I lost my AirPod in the pit of doom of the stair masters but Megan came to the rescue and retrieved it, she was extremely helpful and quick to respond. Thanks again Megan!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym. The manager Mark is fantastic, so helpful and friendly. The classes taken by Mark, Brad, Brandon & Megan are FANTASTIC! Great energy, knowledge and understanding of the needs of the gym goers. If I had to find a negative it would be that they have took the Thursday spin (Ride) class away and changed it with Step! (Change the instructor, not the class) This only leaves a Tuesday spin (Ride) before work at 6.30am. One of the only reasons I joined the gym was for these 2 spin classes. But negative aside the others classes and instructors are amazing and loving the gym! :-)

Positive experience: Lack of free weight equipment, sometimes there are no bottles of water in wending machines and the fountain water is so chlorinated. Everything else is fine

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym in February and registered for an induction. I was very nervous. I hadn't been to a gym or done much exercise since pre covid. I was feeling apprehensive, but couldn't have been made more welcome. I made an enquiry with my inductor Abdur-Rahman regarding PT sessions to get me used to equipment. Abdur spent lots of time with me understanding medical conditions and restrictions I had with my mobility (I am registered disabled). He built me a program specifically for me, over the past 9wks I have had a weekly PT session and attended the Sweat and Strength circuit training classes that Abdur runs. Abdur also sets me a program to follow in the week. I have managed to build my fitness up to attend the gym around 4-5x a week and my mobility is much better, I have managed to come off lots of my medication. I have lost 3kgs in weight and dropped 2 dress sizes. I can't recommend this gym or Abdur more. Everyone is really friendly. No judgement, just support.

Positive experience: Rate this gym loads but when classes are on they turn off the normal music and all you can hear is a man shouting on the microphone and it’s sooo annoying

Positive experience: Gym is actually alright but severely let down by the volume of the microphone for classes, no need for it to be that loud, please turn it down

Negative experience: Not a good gym. The one in town centre is much better. Too cramped, poor placement on the equipment. You can't get a drink from the machine unless you have a card (apple pay doesn't work). Can't do a set without people bumping into you to get equipment that each workout station blocks in. Its clean inside but its a brand new gym so that is expected

Positive experience: It’s a nice space, although relatively small.

Fantastic experience: Great new gym. Just wish the app was not slow. It can take a good 30 seconds sometimes to get through the gate.

Negative experience: Please provide paper towels, people’s sweaty head marks can be found all over the equipment and benches already, it’s off putting and unhygienic.

Positive experience: It's a PureGym so you know what you're going to get. It was small, but clean and well laid out. The temperature was good and it wasn't too busy. Nice mix of people in there too.

Positive experience: Not bad place to train. Pay for the yanga water but 9 times out of 10 its out of order or not got the flavour you want

Positive experience: An established 2 tiered building with professional trainers and a wide range of equipments. It’s a 24 hours gym separate dressing room. You need to buy a lock from the gym to use the locker. It’s around £6. 24 hours music and a separate studio room makes it outstanding.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic new gym, I have the multi gym membership now so I can come here as well as the one in town. The new equipment is so good and refreshing to workout with, staff are active on Instagram and look friendly. The lay out of the gym is very well thought out and they have fit alot of equipment and areas in the space, the studio upstairs feels different and the overall environment makes you feel focused and motivated I think exactly what you need in a gym! Definitely come here! I hope the tidy-ness and general great appearance is maintained and respected by everyone ♡ The staff/ pts are friendly too and very approachable ♡ thank you to Megan for being lovely and helpful with an issue I had! ♡♡
