Fantastic experience: We have had an exceptional stay from start to finnish. The lodges are well equipped with everything up to date and well appointed. The activities are excellent and particular mention to Will as head of activities. We would recommend it as a romantic retreat or family holiday, both are catered for equally well.

Fantastic experience: This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms modern and luxurious. Our children love the hub and the games room where all but one of the games are free. Ate in the restaurant - dinner and breakfast. Good quality and value.

Positive experience: A truly gorgeous resort and a nice chance to disconnect and enjoy the countryside. The cabins we have were so lovely, warm and modern that we had no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed staying in them. The only issue we had was we felt the staff were a bit too lax in their service, specifically when it came to activities. We received contradictory information which meant we weren't able to take part in the activities like archery, which was a big part of the reason we booked this specific place rather than an air bnb, for example. A lot of the activities, like the pottery painting, are 'self guided' with no instructions (or water and tissues to clean brushes) meaning we ended doing the wrong thing which wasn't communicated with enough notice for us to rectify. Overall, while I found the activities aspect disappointing, we did enjoy our stay at the mole resort. We hope to visit again in the future where we won't encounter these avoidable problems.

Fantastic experience: Lovely location, the views across the valley are wonderful. The chalets are very nicely laid out and very well appointed, the beds very comfortable. The hub provides a good resource for entertainment if your own company is not enough. The restaurant provides a good menu and is served very well. The food is hearty and well cooked. Oh, and our chalet has a hot tub too!!

Positive experience: In the middle of nowhere for one,you will need transport to get there,not sure of public transport. Although the room was nice i wasn't impressed by the lack of activities and the rudeness of some staff. They bang on about the breakfast but I feel it's not worth the price they charge £16.50. not enough cooked items on the plate imo. The manor house where we stayed is a very nice house indeed very statley, wasn't impressed by dirty glasses left around for the duration we were there 3 days.

Negative experience: Great location beautiful lodge and very dog friendly is where it ends. Leisure pool and spa facilities need a massive renovation with poor changing facilities that smell and look unclean and generally tired looking throughout. If you book on a fitness class make sure the staff haven't left the company weeks ago to save you arriving at 7 am to be turned away. If you have children under 4 years of age and the British weather being what it is then be assured you will be faced with some of the activities staff that need a lesson in customer service and nothing to keep young children occupied for more than 5 minutes. This is our secont visit here and it is sold as a luxury family friendly place to visit with lots to do all round but feel very miss sold this time and won't be returning anytime soon. Overall very disappointing end to a family holiday and will stop recommending to family and friends after this visit.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the leisure facilities, we are hoping to complete some refurbishments in that building in the near future. I'll definitely pass on your feedback regarding being turned away from the fitness class, that is certainly not the level of service we strive for. I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't think we had enough things for your young children to do here. We like to think we have something for everyone here at The Mole Resort. We have a well equipped crafts room for painting, drawing and pottery painting which is suitable for most age groups. We also have a large area for imaginative play in the hub which includes blocks, balls, toy wheel barrows and balance bikes. We highly encourage people to head outdoors in all weathers as there's plenty to see and do outside, such as spotting wildlife or finding all of our wooden sculptures dotted around the resort. Which you can certainly explore if you do decide to come back. If you have any ideas or suggestions of what we could have on offer for young children we would love to hear from you. Positive experience: Nice if a little tired rooms . Ours was well serviced clean ( carpet did need attention). Very comfortable bed ,tv was a faff to be used via app ,we used the remote so much easier. Service from all the staff was excellent. So, nice room ,location and staff . Then why the average mark firstly I felt the restaurant food choice a little restricted pizzas till 9pm only why ? . Secondly my steak was tough lots of gristle, fries were just that bagged frozen fries . 34 pounds for a steak at least triple cooked chips hand prepared would make a nice addition not fries as from a local fast food joint . Partners pizza was decidedly average. Starters the Prawn cocktail rarebit more fish paste on toast very disappointed with that . The soup I was told very under seasoned . Dessert menu had 1 missing and 2 changed items so we skipped that . Drinks in the cellar bar were served by a delightful American lass who welcomed us both was knowledgeable re the drinks and accommodated our specific drink requirements. Walk back to our rooms paths were badly lit and quite uneven . The leisure facilities were A. great pool well looked after. B. Very small changing room .C well equipped gym D. Good Sauna. Great for activities and kids if that's your thing and charming grounds . In short and we will try it again maybe in the spring ,would I rush back no not if the food standard didn't improve otherwise I would happily return and would have given the 2 missing stars . If your gonna be such a varied family, romantic , High octane activity,up market ,eco lodge,camping venue. Some more staff and better restaurant fare for the foodies and romantics. Apart from that all the other groups seem taken care of . The rooms in the main house are well worth visiting and having a sit in utterly delightful. Fantastic experience: We stayed in a 2 bedroom lodge with my husband for my 30th birthday and it was so nice! Really spacious, very clean & had all the amenities you could ask for. They even had a little birthday card & some chocolates which was such a nice touch. The place felt modern but really cosy. We especially liked the hottub on the balcony! All the staff were so friendly - especially in the bar - they had their own infused gin and vodkas & had the time to talk a little about each one. Someone even bought me a shot to say happy birthday - everyone was so kind!! We used the spa facilities too which was so relaxing. The footgolf was a good laugh. Overall we really enjoyed our few nights away and would love to return in the future.

Fantastic experience: I have never heard of here until my partner brought me to this amazing resort for my 40th birthday. WOW!! Absolutely blown away with how beautiful it is. Positive experience: Myself and my boyfriend recently stayed here for the weekend. I've got to say its a stunning place from it's lodge to its surroundings, games room and on site activities etc u don't really need to leave the site to go anywhere if you really don't want to as theres enough to do. We did enjoy although we encountered a fly problem. Upon arrival, We killed off a few fly's that was scattered throughout the lodge whilst unpacking our stuff then we headed out to get some food for the weekend so didn't really think anything of the fly issue at this point.. Upon arriving back at the lodge we were greeted again with more fly's (alive ones) throughout the lodge to which at this point we phoned reception to make them aware and the lady I spoke to said the housekeeper will pop down in the morning. We had left the dead fly's in the places for someone to see the amount we was facing. Come the morning time I rang reception to tell them it was ok for the housekeeper to call down and we got on with our day. We come back and noticed the housekeeper had not been down as there was no difference to the lodge as we had killed all current fly's that were in the lodge and then gone out for a few hours come back and the same fly's were there from where we left them and more fly's were flying around. Whilst we were outside in the hot tub on Saturday night we noticed a large amount of fly's by the bedroom area if you look up which must be where they are getting in somehow. Also, it states by the hot tub area that someone will come down everyday to clean the hot tub. Not once did someone call down to clean it. We spent a lot of our time in the lodge as that's what we payed for. Come Sunday the water was getting cloudy and you could tell it hadn't been cleaned. Despite this being a beautiful place the fly situation did actually let the place down as it's clearly a problem for the amount of fly's to be returning and the fact of nobody coming to even have a look actually annoyed us as we spent a couple of hundred pounds to stay the weekend here we shouldn't be facing problems with fly's!! Unfortunately, we wouldn't return due to the fly issue.

We are now providing additional sprays for guests and encourage anyone experiencing difficulties to reach out, as our team is always here to help. Regarding the hot tub, we apologise for the oversight in cleaning. Water can become cloudy if the rules are not followed, such as not showering before entering the hot tub or consuming food while using it. Our team checks the chemical levels for health and safety but does not change the water for stays under a week. We appreciate your understanding of these guidelines, as they help maintain the quality of the hot tub for all guests. Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful week in the fabulous warm September weather, clear skies with a harvest Moon!! The meadow lodges are wonderfully clean, well equipped and comfortable. With a lovely warm hot tub. Milk and chocolates in the fridge on arrival. The grounds are well kept, the small dog park was ok to let our small dog off lead. Our dog got his welcome pack(after asking!!) I would like to say how friendly every member of staff was in all the areas of the resort. Great cellar bar. Lovely village pub in walking distance as well. Overall we had the most relaxing week exploring North Devon, and the Mole Resort.

Fantastic experience: We arrived and were given a two bed lodge. It is of the highest spec. Nothing in it is cheap.we spent a lot of time in the lodge just chilling out and enjoying time together. The hot tub is amazing. Staff were helpful and any questions we had however stupid were answered. We love it here.and would love to come back next year. Bit it looks as though the rates have nearly doubled for the same stay..unless I'm looking at something wrong.but well worth the money we paid this time

Positive experience: This is a hard place to review, because there’s a lot wrong with it but it’s just so charming. I think the pictures and general marketing of the place is misleading, perhaps not on purpose, but it’s essentially the highest end Butlin’s you can imagine. The pool was nice but the showers smelt like pee, the restaurant was in a nice setting but the food was pretty bad, the rooms look ok but are too hot and a bit basic, and the clientele is mainly families. We did the pub quiz on Saturday night which was the highlight, but as a couple with a dog we were pretty surrounded with kids the whole time, which I don’t think felt clear when booking. Also there is no area for just adults, absolutely all areas have kids everywhere which was fine I guess, but not very relaxing. On the flip-side, we could take our dog most areas and the grounds are gorgeous. The staff were great, despite the restaurant being poorly run. Ultimately we will never return, but more because it’s not designed for us, it’s designed for adults to have a nice holiday and some space from their kids I reckon. Great value, nice staff and fantastic grounds.

Fantastic experience: The lodges are fabulous they definitely have not scrimped at all on these. Furnishings are of excellent quality, kitchens are well equipped and functional and have everything you need. Hot tub is great and staff come every day to make sure chemicals are correct. The area is beautiful, its very peaceful but also offers plenty of activities. Indoor and outdoor pool and gym. Games room is large and has a number of activities. There is a restaurant and bar, I stayed for a qeekend and didnt use these. Would fully recommend great place to stay, will definitely be coming again.

Fantastic experience: Stayed at the mole resort back in June two adult couples, one baby (4 months old) and two dogs. We loved staying here, it is pretty remote but there is a lovely pub in the village and we visited Woolacombe (45 minute drive away) and Instow beach (about 30 mins drive) where the dogs could run on the beach offlead. We enjoyed the hub and playing tabletop games aswell as the pool & gym and classes. We also played footgolf. We would have joined a lot more but having the baby with us was limiting which we knew before coming, would be perfect for older children ~5 years+. There is also an enclosed dog park which we used several times a day to let the dogs run around, was a decent size but would be great if this were slightly larger (we have two very energetic spaniels!!). Accommodation is amazing so new and clean and kitchen fully stocked with everything to prepare home cooked meals. Will definitely return!

Fantastic experience: I have just enjoyed the most wonderful dinner with friends at The Devon View Restaurant. The staff made me feel so special (birthday celebrations) and all of our food was impeccable. The menu catered really well for everyone and I recommend the desserts highly! Fantastic experience: Just got back from a week away at the Mole, all in all a bit of a mixed bag of a review. Accommodation: We were in lodge 109, lovely building right at the bottom of the site. Three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin. Plenty of space in all of them and all with a good amount of storage. Both doubles had a sliding door leading out on to a terrace along with large bifold doors on the living room also heading to the terrace. Kitchen was well fitted out with lots of spare plates, glasses cutlery etc. living room was comfortable and the ability to cast from your phone or connect to the TV with HDMI was well thought out. We also had a hot tub on the terrace, would have liked a higher fence surrounding as the lodge behind us could see over when you were getting in or out of the tub, also the temperature was fixed and on the hot days it would have been nice to adjust it. Wifi was excellent. A few negatives, very dusty under the beds could have done with pulling them out and cleaning. Lots of cob webs, every room had at least one. Also shower gel, shampoo and washing up liquid are provided but in all cases were mostly empty. The glass balastrade on our terrace was filthy, for the money paid I would have expected it to be cleaned. Site: If you are in the meadow view lodges it's more a less flat and an easy walk to all the facilities, anywhere else it's very steep uphill and expect to walk as you are not supposed to drive. The site is well kept but buildings are showing their age. Facilities: At the hub you will find a check in area, a small (somewhat expensive) shop, pottery room and games room. The games room was great for those rainy days, it was always busy at peek times and a nice place to get a coffee or something strong and watch the kids play. The check in area could do with an extra staff member as they were running the shop, bar and reception. Not an issue for us but I could see other frustrated. In the Pavilion was the Gym and inside pool. The greeting staff that were there each time we attended always seemed to be in a bad mood and were quite short with you. Towels were provided, so nice not to bring your own. Changing rooms were clean but a little dated. Pool was unattended so you have to supervise your own kids, personally I found the pool quite cold. There was also a steam room and sauna in here. Small park to the rear of the pool building, good enough for the little ones. There was a separate outside pool next to the main hotel building, heated to 28. Only went once on a hot day, kids enjoyed it. Again it was showing it's age and could do with some TLC. Lots of places to sit if you don't want to swim and bar staff asking if anyone wanted to order drinks which was a nice touch. Lots of activities can be booked via the Hub or app. We did archery, instructor was good but needs to be mindful of his language as there were younger children in the group. Otherwise excellent Food Options: As I said earlier, little shop doing the basics at the hub. There was a delivery service (we didn't use) that did pizza and sides. Cellar restaurant and bar was onsite. We only went once for pizza as they had a deal on, gluten free options were good. £71 for the four of us with a drink each (with 50% off the food). Main menu looked good but pricey, was very posh and felt very out of place. Final thoughts, on the hole the staff were friendly and welcoming. Accommodation was comfortable and the facilities were good. Everything felt quite expensive on site and as such we left the site to eat out. Some of the site needs TLC. We all enjoyed the stay and may return next year. I have added some photos but please keep in mind this is after a week of staying here.

Positive experience: This was a new type of holiday for us and the reviews promised us a nice vacation and being a fairly new establishment, we thought that everything would be well established but there were a few surprises. 1. Pre-holiday communication - It’s good to get some good and useful information prior to your holiday but after booking we were sent repeated special offers suggesting that we sign up for sports such as axe throwing, pottery and massages. One special offer would have been enough for us. 2. On arrival – When we checked in, we were given a short introduction and as it is a fairly large complex site the receptionist drew the route to our lodge on a site map. Unfortunately, she drew the route to the wrong lodge and so it took us about 30 minutes to find the right lodge. 3. Our accommodation – The lodge was lovely, clean spacious and well positioned but I found it strange that the door to the lounge that had a self-closing device on was ‘wedged open’ with a chair – having looked at this further I established that this was a fire resisting door and installed to protect the staircase from the 1st floor. It was interesting to note that it was not identified as a fire resisting door and there were no instructions in the lodge advising that it should be kept closed so anyone without any expertise in this subject may continue to wedge the door open. Other minor items included the safe didn’t work and the dishwasher required salt and rinse aid. 4. Fire safety – Having established that the cleaners appear to have a set procedure of wedging open the fire doors after cleaning I decided to ask a few questions about the level of fire safety and as the staff on site did not appear to know a great deal about it I wrote to the architect who responded that he was not responsible for the fire safety of the lodges as it had been carried out by a third party but he would forward my request to the management who would be able to respond. As I did not receive a reply from management, I sent a request to the General Manager asking for details of the fire safety arrangements and I received a reply indicating that it would be sent to the appropriate department and despite sending some more follow ups about this I have not received a response. 5. Other matters – All of the literature indicates that there is a Bistro and we went there one day only to find it closed and a member of staff told us that it did not make enough money so it was closed and they were not sure what to do with the space. Another day we arrived back at the lodge to find part of the hot tub electrics on the decking and I took a photo to show the receptionist who said she would get someone to look at but no one arrived and when we checked out, I mentioned this and the receptionist said “oh”. There was also sign by the hot tub indicating that the hot tub would be checked every day but we did not see any sign of this. Our experience of this resort would not want to make us return and this is a great pity as it does have a lot of potential but until the essential safety procedures are sorted out and communication and management /customer services are improved we cant see it being somewhere we would recommend.
Fantastic experience: This place is incredible. The facilities are top notch, the surroundings are beautiful and the view is absolutely stunning!! We stayed at the valley view cottage. It was incredibly clean, fully equipped, well furnished and super comfortable. The private hot tub with the valley view is an amazing experience. Both of the pools were clean and warm. We highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic experience: After seeing the resort advertised at 3am during my little one’s feed I thought it was maybe too good too be true. This place was beautiful. We had a lodge 2 levels and it was plenty spacious for our family of 5. The facilities were top of the range and can clearly see that they have not been shy with money. Luxury on all areas. We stayed for 3 nights and the kids never had nothing to do. The resort has so much activities, even on rainy days they can still have fun with an indoor bouncy castle, games room and craft room. Plenty of entertainment for all. Prices are reasonable and nothing was too much trouble from the staff. Highly Recommend the smash burgers from the little food stand outside the hub! One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The site is out on the sticks so not much in terms of shops but we had an Asda delivery arranged for our arrival so no need to trek shopping with us. If the resort was closer we would definitely be returning, unfortunately coming from up north and it taking 5hrs to travel isn’t a nice experience with children. All in all, a great time away for me and the family. Thank you Mole Resort for a fabulous few days.

Fantastic experience: This is the second time we have visited the Mole Resort. The lodge’s are well equipped and modern. The staff friendly and attentive, and we will certainly revisit. The only gripe is the prices are pumped up in the school holidays - wouldn’t it be refreshing for a company not to fleece parents for having children instead continue to deliver an affordable option for the mash market.

Negative experience: The Mole Resort is set in a countryside setting at the end of very long dangerous lanes that are not passable if you meet on coming traffic that speed along the lanes Numerous accidents can occur a nd put all drivers at risk on these roads for up to 5miles Therefore if you have children in the cars protect them has well as yourself Back to the resort the activities cost for the children is £20 per child for each acti ity therefore the cost is on too of the overall price Also there are health and safety issues around the activities location no first aid cover available serious injuries could be an issue to if an ambulance is required No hospitals in vicinity to the resort Therefore think The food is not to a high standard and is a set menu that never changes The restaurant has steep steps into the building a d also in the restaurant The staff are rude and arrogant an average meal is £100 per night for 2 people plus extra for drinks Therefore we believe that this is expensive make your Choice

The roads are a little narrow in places but lorries and coaches do make their way to The Mole Resort frequently. I'm sorry that you found the activities to be expensive! If you come again I would recommend getting activity passes which makes doing a number of the activities a bit cheaper. There are also a number of free activities included such as the swimming pools and the court and lawn games. We have first aid trained staff across the resort in all the departments which are able to help in the event of any incidents or accidents. The nearest hospital is 14 miles away in Barnstaple and an ambulance can be here in 30 minutes in an emergency. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't like the food in the restaurant and found the menu limited, I'll make sure this is passed on to the relevant department. Fantastic experience: We booked a meadow lodge at short notice as a honeymoon, not knowing what to expect, on arrival we were very pleased with the choice we had made, the views are stunning, there is plenty for the kids to do and the lodge was immaculate, with a congratulations card and bottle prosecco waiting for us, the food at the restaurant is well priced as the service you get is second to none and the food is delicious, all the staff are friendly and cannot do enough to help you, the added bonus is you have your very own hot tub on your private balcony, I would highly recommend. Thankyou for a lovely stay, to all at the resort.

Negative experience: If you’re wanting a quiet weekend/night away I wouldn’t stay here! Myself and my partner wanted a relaxing night away with spa facilities, lasted 20 minutes in the spa as it was really busy and very loud also the changing rooms could do with being updated as it looks really run down and none of the lockers worked. Booked a reservation in the restaurant for dinner asked at reception if we could have a window table with a view and was told we would need to ask in the restaurant so asked in the restaurant to be told we can’t book a certain table however we could ask later when we come back for dinner…. So upon arrival there was 2 tables available by the window asked if we could sit there to then be told those tables were already booked… (even though we were told earlier on in the day certain tables couldn’t be booked) what’s even more disappointing is the whole time we were sat in the restaurant not one person sat at any of those tables!!! And to top it off the meal was awful - over cooked, dry and not worth the money. All in all was a real shame and wouldn’t stay here again as we also found the some of the bar staff very rude…. Pictures and website make it look stunning but the service let it down.

Positive experience: Our key cards got deactivated a day early and we nearly got locked out in the pouring rain. Unless you go for a valley view lodge, you will end up in a semi detached wooden cladded house where you are overlooked by 3 other houses. Other guests let their dogs roam free without leads despite the clear guidance about needing them on leads. The hot tub water is not refreshed after each guest, they just whack more chlorine in it. It's a great location and the grounds are lovely but honestly there are other dog friendly places with better accommodation for a better price. Huge plus... The Swedish massage is incredible, best massage I've ever had... Would definitely recommend that.

Fantastic experience: Excellent lodge and precious family time doing varied activities with kids in different age groups. Even better than the website suggests. Staff and customer service were first class. Only quibble was the activity passes we were encouraged to buy when booking- for kids only, don’t recall the website being that clear about this so we only used 2/4 but the location and high level of service as well as free activities available on site was so great that I can let that pass.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place, best facilities I've come across, full large games room , farm shop on site, pool etc. Everything you could want. Tennis, other various activities foc. Pool table, ping pong, shuffleboard etc. Only bad thing - the local road access to get there is bad, narrow, pothole badly, but this is not the hotels fault, usual council neglect. Would recommend

Fantastic experience: We have stayed 3 times this year at The Mole Resort and we very rarely go anywhere twice on holiday. However, with 2 children and dogs it is just so easy, there’s lots to do in a beautiful location. The accommodation is fabulous, we have stayed in a 2 bed, 3 bed and 4 bed lodge and all are of excellent standard and designed to make your stay as easy as possible. We all love tennis so the easy access to tennis and pickle ball is a big attraction to us. The pool is a bit tired but my daughter is more than happy with it. The massive strength for us are the activities on offer - axe throwing, archery, nerf wars and so on, all of which are extremely popular with our son. Our daughter is very happy with pottery, the games rooms, park, remote controlled cars, swimming, frisbee golf and more. In particular, the Activities Team have always been fantastic and very welcoming. Will especially is a very big hit with our kids and seems to love his job, which is infectious. Every time we leave the kids are asking when we’ll return.

Fantastic experience: Stayed at the Mole resort for 2 nights in the new cabins recently, it was a super lovely stay, the cabins were beautiful, clean and lovely views! Very peaceful and quiet, the rooms were open and spacious and the hottub topped it off! Which was also well maintained. We had a 3 course meal in the restaurant which i have highly recommended all my friends to try! The food was absolutely fantastic, we also had a breakfast hamper and steak hamper for pur 2nd night from the shop which was also very good fresh quality food very delicious! We took part in axe throwing and archery which was great fun! Our instructor Alex was the perfect fit for his job, he was very friendly, professional and good fun! Had us laughing the whole time so credit to him! Definitely going to take my friends back to do the activities! They also have a big games room indoors with shuffle boards, pool tables, and other games. Walking round the resort is also lovely, the grounds are beautiful. Overall 10/10 stay!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing stay. Lodges are so beautiful and the place is so peaceful. The food is delicious. The only complaint I have is the jakuzzi 1st it seems that the jakuzzi wasn't cleaned before we arrived we came for 2 night . They were suppose to come on the next day of stay to clean it but nobody came. The jakuzzi had a little bit of a smell first day and the second day it was even worse. I called the reception (too late to be honest) to let them know they couldn't get anyone to clean the jakuzzi , they offered to let us use another jakuzzi or 1pm checkout, having too kids we couldn't just go to another jakuzzi we would have to go to another lodge so we said 1pm checkout is good. Than we noticed next door people haven't been there today so we asked if we could just go to their jakuzzi as the living room has a door from our room and their room that can be unlocked and we can go through. So I called and asked if we could do that , the lovely receptionist asked me if she can call back and see if the jakuzzi was cleaned , upon her ringing me back she has told me that there is no lodges that we could use as all the jakuzzis haven't been cleaned when people checked out which will be cleaned tomorrow. 2nd the jakuzzi is wayy too hot there is no way is 38 degrees is well over 40. But the place is absolutely amazing . Perfect for families, couples, dogs and anyone you can think of.

Negative experience: Can only speak to the leisure side as that is all I have used. The gym is good, it's well equipped and never so busy that you can do the workout you want. However, the hygiene in the pool/sauna/steam room is unacceptable. The showers have no shower gel or shampoo to use, it doesn't need to be anything fancy but nothing for people who have used the gym to wash themselves before they go into the pool is poor, thankfully I bring my own. The showers are generally unclean with mold in the shower units and hair etc. building up in the drains they are clearly not regularly tended to. There is no hand soap in the male toilets so you're at the mercy of people not using the toilet before they use gym equipment. The steam room can often be unclean with hair, spit, dead skin etc. clearly present. Towels often build up to a massive pile in changing rooms. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming, I can only speak positively about them, but a larger effort or dedicated cleaning team really should be in place particularly for the price that is charged. Needs improvement. Edit: Dropped this to a one star from two as 8 months on very little has changed in terms of the hygiene at this place.

Fantastic experience: It's a really lovely place, the staff are really helpful and friendly, the lodges are spotlessly clean and really well equipped. There is an excellent range of activities, including archery, axe throwing, swimming, ceramics painting, table tennis, air hockey, pool.. the list goes on really.. The food is the restaurant is lovely, with good vegetarian and gluten free options. Accessible lodges are available too, and even wheelchair access to the cellar restaurant (despite it being in a cellar) - you just need to ask a member of staff.

Fantastic experience: Great place. I stayed there for a week during a business trip. Everything was perfect. The food was expensive but exquisite. The other week of my trip I stayed in a different hotel but I drove approx 25 min to have dinner in the Mole.

Fantastic experience: Booked a long weekend for my wife's birthday. We were thoroughly impressed with the stay, the staff were brilliant, every one of them from the reception, the spa and the restaurant, very pleasant and friendly with great service. A special mention to Devlin in the restaurant, very attentive and customer focused. The room was in the main house, it was clean, lots of space and with beautiful views over the valley and hills beyond.

Positive experience: Stayed in a 4 bed lodge for a long weekend. The views and surroundings were amazing, could do with more things for kids under 6 to do. We enjoyed our stay and will be back. Note - EV charging was expensive for slow chargers and the chargers were constantly blocked by non EVs.

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic resort with amazing luxury lodges. With the vast greens and activities, the Mole Resort is perfect for family friendly and dog friendly holidays. This new resort is Devon's best kept secret. You are spoilt for choice with the number of activities from golf to archery to pottery for kids. The hot tubs in the lodges are great for enjoying the night sky.

Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful location right in the countryside with so many activities for everyone. Customer Service was excellent, we decided we wanted to stay last minute and Hollie was able to give us a great deal and we got a room with a view . All round, very pleased we stumbled across the Mole Resort.

Positive experience: Its great this site is dog friendly even though they charge you through the roof for it. I feel if they are to use it as an USP then they should include it in the room prices (even though these are high already). While visiting, we attended the pub/cellar bar on site. Service was so slow. I asked for some cheesy chips and the bar person said I couldn’t because it wasn’t on the menu. I asked for a side of grated cheese for my chips as this was on the menu with the pasta and she still refused. She didn’t even ask the chef it was possible even though I said I would pay. I just found it really petty and not accommodating even though a side bowl of grated cheese which would have cost them pence.

Negative experience: Sells as 4 stars. I can only presume January is down season. From basics in the room not working, heating, shower, bathroom light only the heating was repaired. To a highly restricted food menu, due to having our dog with us. This was a present for me so I don't know, but I guess the dinner, b&b package was not at a reduced price for having a food option of limited reheated convenience foods, eg frozen fish in batter n chips. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: Went to The Mole for the business trip, which turned to more like a mini holidays. There is something magical about this place. Time stops, and all your worries evaporate along with the morning mist you watched during the breakfast from the Devon view Restaurant. The views are absolutely breathtaking! Reunion with nature is one of The Mole features)) Manor house still carrying that character and spirit from 19th century, Victorian Gothic facade make you dip into the history and it is in absolute harmony with the rest of resort's estate and lodges. Perfect for families get away, dog friendly. I think it was around 40 different activities you can do there. Cellar pub and restaurant offer casual menu and also fine dining. Customer service is exceptional. Staff is genuinely willing to make you happy, and they do it great. Place worth to come back and highly recommended!!!!! +10000

Positive experience: We've arrived today, and the room (junior manor) is fantastic. We had lunch at the cellular, and the service and food were excellent. We went to the pool and I felt the changing rooms and toilet could have been better. The toilet needed more attention with cleaning (they are not disgusting far from it), but they are not luxurious and could do with being updated. The same goes for the changing rooms, I couldn't lock my belongings due to missing locket keys, which was annoying. I spoke to member of staff on the pool reception, and they informed me they don't have spare keys. However, you do get towels, the use of the sauna and the jacuzzi, which is a nice touch. Overall, the Mole Resort is very impressive, and the staff are very welcoming. If they modernised the toilets and changes rooms at the pool, this would be a 5 star rating.

Fantastic experience: We spent a couple of nights here to check it our for a possible complete family visit next year. Steve showed us around the various Lodges and must most impressed. Food excellent in main restaurant although on the pricy side. Will return. The use of Whats app for communicating with the HUB reception is most useful.

Fantastic experience: We stayed 4 days in early September in a valley-view lodge: breathtaking views. The lodge is very nicely furnished; kitchen well equipped. Dinner in the cellar restaurant: excellent. We enjoyed visiting Clovelly village, Ilfracombe and Wollacombe, and Withypool. Wonderful days.

Positive experience: Lovely private resort with some public access. We used the 20m swimming pool several times. The pool is easily accessible, via a set of graduated steps, it has uniform depth throughout and therefore is great for kids. The Jacuzzi was good fun too! The changing rooms are small and on our two visits, cold air was being pumped into them - which isn't what you want just after getting out of a pool.

Positive experience: Used the pool and spa as non-resident. Been a few times as live locally. Really nice pool and spa. Previous it was around £8 per adult (half for kids)…this has gone up to £11 I think it was yesterday. This is now pretty expensive for what it is, and for a family of 4. Also, the first two times we went, the sauna was out of action, and yesterday the hot tub was out of action. So I think it feels especially pricey, when you can’t use all the facilities.

Fantastic experience: What a beautiful place. The lodge was immaculate and so well designed. The children gave it 20/10. They loved the indoor and outdoor pools and the incredible games room and my husband and I loved the Bistro! The food was fantastic. The coffee in the Bistro was quite expensive but very nice. Everywhere is newly refurbished to an extremely high standard and the valley view is stunning. The only place that hasn’t been refurbished is the changing rooms but they are clean and only stand out because everywhere else is of such a high standard. The staff couldn’t be more lovely and seemed genuinely happy to work there and interact with you. They honestly wanted your stay to be perfect. They even supplied us with nut free cosmetics as the beautiful L’Occtaine cosmetics first provided contained almond oil. We didn’t go out to explore as the resort had so much to offer. I am sure there is plenty to enjoy outside but the options we looked at were further afield, e.g. Exeter, beaches. Overall this place is genuinely beautiful and how a stay should be..very hard to find this quality these days for a reasonable price too.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. We came for the weekend and I cannot fault the place at all. The lodges, staff, views were all brilliant. It’s so peaceful and calm which we loved and the hot tubs are great. We had two interconnecting lodges for 8 of us which was brilliant as we could have our own privacy whilst also have whole family time. The local pub down the road was fantastic too. We will defo be back !!

Fantastic experience: I almost don’t want to tell people how good this place is as I don’t want it to get booked out when we want to visit! Firstly the staff are fantastic. So friendly, chatty & helpful, from reception to bistro & housekeeping staff - could not fault the service. Liam on the activities team ensured we had a great time on the shooting activity. The lodges are spotless & really comfy. We loved all the little welcome packs & our doggies weren’t left out either. A fully equipped kitchen & eco friendly products were brilliant. The hot tub & fantastic view topped it all off. We’ll definitely be back

Fantastic experience: The lodges are built to a high standard and very well equipped. We booked two adjoining lodges allowing a family of eight to enjoy a joint holiday. The grandchildren loved the hot tub, the two pools and the axe throwing. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this as a family resort.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic resort. Stayed in an amazing 3 bedroom lodge with hot tub and the welcome pack of local produce was delicious. Robes, slippers, extra towels, games, torch and umbrellas all supplied. Games room was also a big hit with the teenagers. The perfect family break!

Fantastic experience: Fabulous weekend in a very comfortable and clean lodge. The whole team are, helpful, and cheerful. So much to do we need to come back to try some more activities. Even on a rainy day, the pool and games room kept us busy.

Fantastic experience: I would like to give our great gratitude to a member of staff for the breakfast on August 9th around 9am. There was only her who worked at front desk for everything: sign in the guests, serve the food and take the orders, etc... but she did it so well with great patience. When i told her my mum will be back later for the ordered breakfast. she offered to keep it warm in the kitchen. It was a lady in her 50s maybe with gold long hair and a pair of glasses. We enjoyed a short conversation with her too. She deserves a promotion.

Fantastic experience: We have found our new favourite holiday resort in Devon. We just returned from a wonderful weeks stay at The Mole Resort. The lodges with hot tubs are first class, good quality with everything you need. If you are not doing lots of days out, no problem there is lots to do rain or shine. Restaurant food is a real treat and will not disappoint. What makes The Mole Resort great is the fabulous staff, they cannot do enough for you to ensure you enjoy your stay and are really proud of their resort. Fantastic experience: Fabulous resort. Booked one of the Lodges with hot tub for a short stay. Perfect size for family of 4 . Very clean ,in fact looked brand new! Grounds very well maintained...only disappointment weather was mostly rainy so we didn't participate in the several out door activities on offer. Definitely would book again and for sunny days

Positive experience: the hotel was amazing and had so much facilities and things to do. the area was beautiful. however the drive was not worth it. the location is just chaotic. to get out of the hotel overall to get to a town took around 20 mins and you’d be stuck on the narrowest road where cars are coming from both ways and you would have to reverse all the way back to let them through. it was a nice experience but never again.
Fantastic experience: I’ve made it to 47 years old without ever feeling motivated enough to leave a review, but am finally breaking my record for the Mole Resort. I stayed for a week with my wife and two teenage boys, the lodges were immaculate, the complex was amazing, the facilities were perfect and varied, and most importantly, all the staff were wonderful. We were originally intending to use the resort as a base to explore Exmoor and Dartmoor, but after tennis, swimming, pickle ball, the gym, shuffleboard, table tennis, the hot tub, spa treatments, and a quiz we actually got to the end of the week without leaving once. A special thanks to Will and the gang on the Activities team for entertaining our boys so well, perhaps next time you’ll beat one of them at pool! Great job Mole Resort!
Positive experience: Room was OK. No mini bar, no telephone. Service was well intended, but reception phone was never answered and the bar in the manor house often had no one attending. Breakfast was very good, location excellent.
Fantastic experience: One word...amazing! By far the best lodge we've ever stayed in. They'd thought of everything, from toys, treats, towels and bowls for the dogs, to a locally sourced fresh breakfast items, to robes and slippers, umbrellas, great BBQ with charcoal, massive hot tub, lots of towels....I could go on and on. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. The activities are great and the team are too. The games room is really good. Very nice cocktails in the bar, staff were really good. Reception team were brilliant. Lovely surroundings and view. We couldn't fault it!! Can't wait to go back! Thanks so much for a fantastic stay!
Fantastic experience: Lovely hotel and resort, tasteful, fresh, clean and green. There are lots of activities on site, as well as a spa, gym, nature walks, golf, etc. and so many places to visit within 1 hour. We didn't try the axe throwing!! The accommodation is spread out over the site, with parking outside your door, this gave it the feel of being far quieter than it actually was. The on-site shop, bar, bistro and restaurant are all handy, a 5 minute walk from our accommodation. The bar and bistro have great views, or there are snug areas to chill out in. The resort is set up to be child and dog friendly and has a lovely relaxed but elegant feel. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a lovely long weekend as a couple.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant log cabins! We chose a log cabin as a last-minute getaway, and we are so glad we did. The log cabins are spacious and elegantly decorated. Everything looks brand new and the beds are extremely comfortable indeed. The kitchen is nicely decorated and has all the mod cons. The loung/ entertainment area is large enough for a family of 4 to 6 to sit in and watch telly. There are so many different facilities on site, including meals if you dont feel like cooking. So glad we found this site.

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed this lovely hotel in the countryside. We stayed in room 312 top floor of the old manor house. I believe this building had approx 14 rooms. The ground floor has a bar and two large lounges with comfy chairs, board games and views. The basement houses the cellar bar and restaurant. Again lovely views and a very atmospheric venue. Staff were exceptionally friendly, saying hello at all times, offering lifts on golf buggies, always being friendly and helpful. Clearly fantastic training of the staff has happened. Breakfast was epic, so much food... Both Al a carte and buffet available and as much coffee as you need. Although we didn't partake in anything, the venue has many sports facilities to enjoy. The rooms are lovely, bed was comfy and towels/amenities were great. Small disappointment was the water pressure in the shower. This might be due to the old house or being on the top floor. Only a small gripe which didn't affect the overall stay. Would recommend this place solely on the friendliness of the staff and the gorgeous breakfast. Thank you

Fantastic experience: We stayed in a lodge that was brand new and beautifully finished. Great resort for meeting up with family & friends - lots of activities on site and North Devon coast easily accessible for days out. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and we received generous welcome food pack and dog goodies on arrival. We had no issues charging our car although if site was full there may be a need for additional chargers. The upstairs of the lodges also gets very warm on sunny days - we were given a fan which was helpful but would recommend closing curtains when away from the lodge. As the lodges as so new the gardens and grassy areas around them are a "bit sparse" but will be fine as things mature. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend.
Fantastic experience: The place is wonderful, with a lot of nature and green zones. The Resort offers a lot activities outdoor and indoor for children, and adults. The staff are very lovely and gentle.

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful long weekend in one of the 4bed loges. The Loge was just lovely, comfy and everything was to such a high standard, there is everything you need! A beautiful location to aid the relaxation and a perfect view to enjoy the hot tub. The staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to our next trip with more energy to try the activities!! (Also the best chicken burger ever from the restaurant).
