Positive experience: Never been to the sports but I will reccommend it

Positive experience: Great facilities though the pool showers are not so clean, and in need of a swimsuit dryer.

Fantastic experience: Clean changing rooms and pool. Lots of natural light make it a lovely space. Cafe on site selling drinks and snacks.

Fantastic experience: There a badminton club called hawks and I go and play at the club on occasions- great fun and keeps me fit and healthy

Positive experience: I know this is only a small thing,but after 18 months of bringing my own cup and having my card stamped,to obtain a free drink,i am told this morning that the card now is only for those who buy a sports village cup,very petty and penny pinching buy the village

Positive experience: The facilities are adequate if not a little overpriced. The real problem is despite already paying for the membership (gym/swim) on the days I swim after my gym session and go over the car park 2 hour limit I get charged £2 each time which seems unreasonable and adds up! (Can come close to doubling the membership fee when used most week days). This is the only problem I have with the experience and just takes the shine off an otherwise friendly and pleasant gym.

Fantastic experience: So helpful staff. A great gym, swimming pool, squash, badminton courts, cafe and much more.

Positive experience: Would be 5 stars, but it's not an actual village.

Positive experience: I visit the football fields here weekly with my sons’ football club. The facilities are great - good astro pitches with strong flood lighting. Always lots of parking and, once you have registered your car with them it automatically recognises you next time you visit.

Fantastic experience: Good selection of courses for children and adults. Good clean facilities. Been bringing my daughter here for well over a year for her swimming lessons and she loves it.

Negative experience: Just went to purchase food and the food was not cooked, service terrible, I cannot believe they offer no sauces when selling the likes of sausage and bacon sandwiches and don’t tell you until after it’s been half cooked. Disgraceful reporting to council.

Positive experience: Good venue for the karate competition the kids were in

Fantastic experience: A great venue to play the Hertfordshire Pickleball mixed doubles tournament. Facility was excellent , parking easy , food good.

Fantastic experience: Large fitness complex set in Hertfordshire University. There's a very large swimming pool with viewing area and a range of children and adult lessons available. There are squash and badminton courts, adecent sized gym with a very good free weights area and an excellent range of resistance machines. The complex also regularly hosts sports competitions. There is a climbing wall too and a cafe. Very reasonablee membership fees too.

Positive experience: Lovely pool. Clean changing rooms & shower. Nice water temperature. However it did say free swim on the timetable, but it was all lane roped, this suited me but people with children didn't really have anywhere to go.

Fantastic experience: Great venue for sports with plenty of parking. Nice little Starbucks in reception as well!

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym, plenty of facilities with really friendly staff. Highly recommend this gym what ever level of fitness you are you will be made welcome.

Fantastic experience: Spacious, well-organized, plenty of parking, most important is that there are toilets. Indoor you can find a swimming pool, claiming wall and a coffee shop.

Fantastic experience: I'm giving give because it's a nice space. I was in a conference type meeting, coffee provided, thank you. But no milk. Minor, but can milk be provided please not just an empty jug of milk?

Fantastic experience: I go for a gym everyday n I really enjoy there. I have seen people doing swimming playing Badminton, Squash, Football etc also they have training classes for Zumba, Pilates, Yoga etc. It's like you can do multiple things under one roof and the cost is affordable.. Regarding cleanliness it's 5/5.

Fantastic experience: Excellent infrastructures, Good Hospitality.

Negative experience: Do not treat this gym as a legitimate gym. Staff, including the manager, have little to no knowledge of training types/intensities/techniques and instead of educating the public of these, I have witnessed them simply removing members from the premises. I would argue, the gym staff are not student friendly and often speak to younger members in a demoralising and mannerless way. Not to mention there are no official documents listening regulations, and they can change them as and when they want. Expecting you to know the changes and abide by them.

Positive experience: Good sports complex with a stand alone cricket hall where my son trains. Good nets and surface and well thought through. The coffee shop is reasonable.

Positive experience: Nice facilities and gym. Very clean place. The only downside is one particular lady who works at the gym is a bit loud and foul mouthed. Quite unprofessional and unpleasant. But the rest are lovely.

Fantastic experience: Great place for a work out, and the little cafe is ideal.

Positive experience: Nice venue. Clean with lots of facilities. However, We were here for a 2 day event running from 8am to 9pm. I went to get a coffee at 5pm only to have a "closed" board shoved in my face. You'd think with an event running til 9pm they could've made provisions for the cafe to stay open. I learnt my lesson and went for a coffee earlier the following day, however, I was in the queue for 1hr15 my gosh they were slow. Someone in the queue ahead of us asked if a product contained nuts. The staff had no clue, they eventually were told no it doesn't only to be told after "oh but it may have traces" absolutely appalling considering the new legalisation and recent headlines around this. I'm not sure if the cafe is independent to the sports centre but it definitely needs looking at.

Negative experience: Shocking!! Came for a cheer comp that finished at 9pm and they decided to shut the Starbucks at 5pm, only one of the 2 vending machines was working and it only took cash as the card reader wasn't working!! Would write more but I need to leave the venue go and get a drink and something to eat.

Fantastic experience: This place is great the home for my granddaughters football team Arsenal cafe is very good and sports facilities are fantastic

Negative experience: Paid for the annual gym membership and the first time I went it didn't let me through so I had to go to the receptionist which is understandable. But after a few times of going my ID card was no longer working to get into the gym, I called the number for when this happened and they said someone will come from the oval reception to assist me. I waited 20 minutes outside and no one ever did. It all seems very unprofessional. It's a hassle every time to have to travel to reception to get this fixed.

Fantastic experience: First visit. Lovely amenities. Healthy snacks. All staff welcoming and helpful in particular Danielle - very friendly and professional meet and greet.

Fantastic experience: These excellent facilities are shared between the elite athletes and the rest of us, and somehow the staff manage to keep everyone happy. The car parking is ample but confusingly sometimes charged and sometimes included in your activity.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities spread over a good area. A very large car park, so always easy to find a space (which is free if using the sports centre, but need to register your car on one of the terminals). I have been coming here twice yearly for many years. The hall can have up to 12 badminton courts, and has a large viewing gallery. The cafe is great and located in the centre of all the facilities and near the reception area. The climbing wall and swimming pool are both great too. All staff are very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Great place where you have everything you want to move your body.

Negative experience: The gym is great but really disappointed by the entrance receptionist. Today,for the first time i forgot to carry my ID card with me and i requested them to kindly allow me because i have silver membership and i won't be able to book session after 3pm and It was already 3.10 pm when i reached there . I would have gone back to take my ID card if i had car or bike .. but it was a 20 min walk to my place and the old discriminating women, who allowed 2 people to pass by without membership or checking there ID card , who was at the entrance front desk expecting me to walk 20 min to my place take my ID card and again walk back to the gym which is more 20 min walk . So basically she was expecting me to walk for 60 min before my work out . I said to her i can show my online booking another ID proof or online id .she still did not allowed me . And allowed the other two in front of me . The gym staff is lovely .except that women who do discrimination among people . I know she was doing her job .. but she shouldn't have allowed other two either . Its not like that i am a new member i have been going there from last 2 years and never face such disrespect from people .. today i have experienced such a bad customer service ...

Fantastic experience: I was there to see the physiotherapist at Body Balance which is inside the sports Village. I was quite impressed by the variety of activities they have here; squash, badminton courts, 12m rock climbing wall, gym, ping pong tables, swimming pool...

Fantastic experience: I wish I lived closer. What a lovely place. I think I may have to visit again. We went for a Taekwondo tournament.

Fantastic experience: I just had my usual early morning swim, followed by a coffee and biscotti in the cafe. It was a brilliant start to my morning. The staff were all open, welcoming and friendly and the facilties in both the pool and the cafe were spotlessly clean and very inviting. I count myself very lucky to be a member at the Hertfordshire Sports Village.

Fantastic experience: Update: lovely to see that during Family Fun session there are 3 separate lanes available for advanced swimmers. Well maintained, clean pool area. If I may make a suggestion: please add some big, bolded notes on the walls for male parents to be considerate if changing in front of children. As a father of a young girl, I was surprised to see naked man in the male changing room. As I cannot go in the female changing room when I visit with my daughter, it is a shame there are not enough changing private rooms in the male area.

Positive experience: I was there for the football match after asking how to get to the pitches at the main entrance to the university and Hertfordshire sports village carpark . I park in main carpark had a little walk to thè pitches. I would take a fold up chair with you no place to seat . At this time there was no food or drink and not to sure about toilet open near pitches that was on (6/7/21) . The whole place look very modern clean and tidy..

Positive experience: I regularly use the badminton courts here and have used the Gym and swimming pools before. Really cool and modern place for all types of activities and a perfect value for money if you get a group membership. The team is also very friendly.

Positive experience: Really great gym where people are encouraged to keep the gym clean and respect others by putting weights back when finished. Only negative comment is that there is a distinct lack of mirrors which would help for maintaining form. The pool is great and booking is easy. There's a strong focus on keeping staff and clients safe during covid times.

Positive experience: I love this place, my only preference would be an earlier opening time even 6am would make a huge difference ! That's why a star dropped

Negative experience: Was a student at the university some time ago where on my gym induction with a couple of others wasn't even looked at. I was overweight at the time (the other two were thin) so I guess I was unworthy of getting fit.

Negative experience: I went to try the bouldering wall which was rather unimpressive, the best thing about it was that nobody else wanted to be there so I never had to wait.

Negative experience: Cleanliness of the pool/changing rooms are lovely compared to the other Hatfield pool. HOWEVER, this place is very discriminative, rude & disgusting..... Our staff (care company) took 3 of our male service users to go swimming, all with severe learning difficulties/autism & epilepsy. Of course, they can't be left alone. Most the staff are female so it makes sense to bring them into the females changing rooms. However, an old lady (member of public) told us "you can't come in here" & made a complaint. Because of her complaint, our residents can now only use the first aid room. This is disgusting - isolating these poor men - all they want to do is go swimming!!! The lady should have been told in polite terms to like it or lump it by staff. I'm shocked they allowed her comment to affect these young men. Prior to that, we were told by staff that "a male member of staff from the pool can escort our males into the male changing rooms" which is absolutely rediculous, as they are a total stranger to the resident which would be unsettling for a person with autism plus not trained in epilepsy and we have a duty of care to them. Firstly, it's not like the changing rooms are open plan, there's separate cubicles so what's the issue? Plus they have learning disabilities? Have some compassion. Secondly, because of an old snotty lady (who's still living in the stone ages) made a complaint, despite being given a first aid room (which still isn't fair) we no longer feel welcome here. I dread to think how transgender people will be treated here. Identify as a male but still have a female voice? You will most certainly be made to use the females. Absolutely disgraceful

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, lots of equipments but quite pack on busy hours. Staffs are excellent. Variety classes to join!

Positive experience: Good facilities, bit expensive for what you get.

Positive experience: The astroturf pitches are generally in good condition, but some of the access paths need repairs and can become waterlogged at this time of year.

Positive experience: I coach for a club here every week and the courts are good quality. Sometimes there are tournaments going on so we have to go somewhere else, but aside from that I have a generally good experience here
