Negative experience: I was a multi gym pass holder so visit other pure gyms. This was the best of the three. However the other two still have cleaning stations. Pure gym Bangor have removed theirs. There is usually some spray and paper towel knocking around but it is in different places. Coming into cold and flu season hygiene is important, so cleaning stations should be provided. The new cardio equipment is also a retro grade step. The exercise cycles have really short saddle stems. If you are well over 190 cms it's like trying to cycle a kids bike. It's a shame this gym was always well run with broken equipment fixed promptly and always looked clean.

Positive experience: It's good and cheap and looks nice after it's been done up. Sadly we went to try and find a cleaning station and the staff looked at us like we had 5 heads. We were given a spray bottle, no cloths or anything to wipe the equipment after use :/ Apparently they got rid of the cleaning stations. Sad, I'll just bring wipes when I come next :/

We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Negative experience: Musics way too loud at night. The noise can be heard even when both my earphones are in tightly so I just end up letting out a sigh and have to listen too whatever dribble PureGym decides to be playing at 2AM - it’s usually horrendous.

Positive experience: Pretty good gym, can be crowded at times which is to be expected around peak times. Would appreciate a couple more hair dryers in the men's changing rooms, as there is only one which has been broken. But apart from that all good!

Negative experience: Pure Wankkkk more like it..... I'll never be back again the machines are all over the show the place needs organised

Staff undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that any issues are fixed as soon as possible. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers and/or parts but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. In the meantime there is individual use, gender-neutral, inclusive changing room available. Positive experience: The mens toilet cubicles have been non operational for approximately 2weeks, 1 urinal just doesn't cut it.. But apart from that i enjoy this place..

Negative experience: Joined for 1 day asked for refund due to situation change and was told I can't get full refund I would lose 7.18 for one day of being a member never even entered the gym customer service is non existent

Positive experience: Probably the worst out of all the pure gyms I have used nothing in the cleaning stations to wipe down the machines after you never seen one worker the whole time I was there . Few machines broken also .

Fantastic experience: Puregym bangor has recently been refurbished and is looking a lot better with a lot more functional kit and better use of space! Puregym as a whole is good value for money as you have 24/7 access which is hard to find when you work shifts evenings and weekend! It does get busy in the evenings but that is to be expected. Again you do get groups of collage age kids in that like to hang out in the changing rooms which can make bigger women such as myself uncomfortable but tbh you will find that in most gyms you go in! The manager Adam is knowledgeable and nothing is to much trouble and iv always found the PTs friendly when I have spoken to any of them.

Positive experience: Really good update to the equipment, but the lighting is still far too intense. You could reduce the amount of lights by half and it would still be more than sufficient. I leave with a light sensitive headache each time and so do my friends. I'm not normally prone to headaches.

Negative experience: 3 stars, it's an okay gym, nothing special inside, just a few free weight areas, very few cable machines, and the interior layout is a bit weird but none of that is the real issue, because that's just puregym. The real issue is if you don't drive, it's too far away from anything. I live central bangor and it takes me 40 minutes just to get there. Major time investment. Unfortunately no other gyms in the area.

Positive experience: Used to go here before the summer, I sort of liked it but it was nearly always packed and at times you would have to wait a long time to use the machines you want. Over the summer I went to a different gym, it had older equipment but it was so much more enjoyable because everything was organised, easy to find and there weren’t many people there.

Positive experience: I quite like it the place is clean and nice looking, staff very friendly in specially Lisa she is adorable never to much for her to give u some advice or help, and the classes are just great, took one star as not all the instructors do the warm up before u start so u have to go there 5/10 minutes earlier and get your warm up done but at the beginning is a pain as u don't really know witch instructors does and witch doesn't so u can end up having to warm up (witch is not a bad thing but u get tired after 2 warm ups nevermind the exercises u go out of there dead ) and also as an advice of improvement the staff should do something to let us know when they decide to don't hold the class I understand that was just me and wouldn't be great to hold the class with only one but if i would have know that it is only myself and he won't hold the class obviously I wouldn't have get there on that night

Negative experience: Decent gym but a few things to notice: There are offers such as 'no joining fee' and '50% off first month' that sporadically come up throughout the year, this sounds great but its a bit annoying when you join and pay the joining fee (which itself is a scam) and the full price then a couple days later they are advertising zero joining fee and 50% off, why not just have a consistent price for your loyal customers. the place is way too busy, there isnt a day you can just go and use the equipment you want as no matter what, you will have to wait or use something else. I've been to DW, Better Gym, and the aurora and didnt notice this. every member of staff just seems to be a personal trainer who is busy with someone, compare this to Better or DW where you can chat to the staff or ask questions people who arent disabled are parking in the disable spots out the front and sauntering into the gym, this isnt the gyms fault but still annoying that you have to drive around the carpark, far from the entrance, to get a spot when some people are abusing the disabled spaces out the front staff smoke out the side but you can smell the cigarette smoke at the entrance and sometimes near the fire escapes

Fantastic experience: A clean gym with plenty of equipment even at the peak times machines become available fairly quickly. There are cleaning stations at the end of each row for machines to be wiped down after use. Staff helpful.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely atmosphere with a good variety of equipment and smaller, quieter areas to train in.
Negative experience: Well over 1 year now since the virtual cycling facility has been working. Initially, the excuse was (guess what) covid then there were subsequent excuses of a similar nature. Totally unacceptable in my view. It was my main reason for choosing Pure Gym Bangor. I've now left.
Positive experience: Well maintained gym a lot of people train here so can be quite busy at times.

Positive experience: Often smells downstairs towards the ladies changing rooms and limited space for floor work not to mention no prowler. Staff can be unapproachable at times

Staff do undertake regular cleaning checks and we have dedicated cleaning teams come each night to carry out and comply with internal and external audits. But we can of course check the cleaning rotas so if you let the Gym Manager know when you’ve visited they can properly investigate. We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any specific suggestions regarding the equipment needed I would advise approaching the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed. If there are instances of the Gym staff being unapproachable it would be worth speaking to the Gym Manager. Fantastic experience: Great gym, just been refitted and work areas restructured. long functional exercise lane now implemented for practical normally outdoor workout sessions.

Positive experience: Very crowded with equipment, not signposted. I had to walk about and find the changing room which was hidden in a corner

Fantastic experience: As good as a gym can get
Fantastic experience: Great selection of cardio and resistance machines. Easy going, no fuss atmosphere. Friendly staff. Quick access for lunch break sessions.

Fantastic experience: You get what you pay for and for under 20£ a month couldn't ask for more..
Negative experience: Been a member on and off. Staff only interested if you want a trainer. Not a place to go if you dont know what you are doing. The classes were good always enjoyed yoga pilates. The parking situation called it a day for me. I dont want to have to worry about time and parking while im trying to use the gym. However the staff are keen to help out if you approach them. They are very friendly and easy to talk to. I know this gym will suit some people, it just isnt for me.

Fantastic experience: Lovely clean gym
Negative experience: I’ve attended this gym since it was founded. Unfortunately, due to one PT milking clients on the same apparatus, for nearly an hour at times , I have been left waiting more often than what’s acceptable. Today I warmed down after giving up, once 35 minutes had past waiting. This shouldn’t be allowed. I won’t be back.

I'm afraid our gyms simply are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times. But we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities to make the most of the space where possible, so please keep an eye out for updates. In my own experience, staff and members are often happy to let you jump in and share equipment especially at peak times, but unfortunately we've previously considered the idea of time limits but found it unworkable and not feasible. Positive experience: Great all rounder gym. 2022 update - nothing has changed. Equipment is now old and banged up. Cleaning is non existent but they've many broken spray bottles to assist you cleaning the equipment yourself... Worth £20 with no contract but don't expect anything more.

Fantastic experience: Great for classes..And great value as my husband has full membership and upgraded from £20 to £25 and i have access 4 times a month. Which is all i use. So access to the gym for £5 Classes cost no more apart from yoga which i don't go to anyway.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Gym. All the Staff are good natured and professional and always willing to help. Facilities are always clean and a pleasure to use. The Spin Classes are wonderful and Claire Thompson's Vibe/Spin classes are an added bonus due to her motivational, enthusiastic and happy demeanour. Great way to help my Triathlon training. Senior Manager Jamie Cromie does a great job and should be proud of his staff. I highly recommend PUREGYM Bangor.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym with a down to earth price
Negative experience: Cardio equipment appears old and outdated. Not nearly enough free weights to accommodate the amount of people trying to work out. Basics like gym mats, punching bag skipping rope, step boxs are severely lacking. Encouraged to wipe down machines after use but not a single wipe or spray to be found. No water fountains and the grey walls and lack of natural light gives the whole place a depressing feel. Used it for a week whilst visiting family, wouldn't be inclined to take up regularly membership at another location. Much better when it was a Fitness First.

We always aim to provide a broad spread of cardio and weights kit to cater to a range of fitness needs, and staff do undertake regular maintenance checks to ensure it's in proper working order. Regarding wiping down kit, members are encouraged to bring their own towels as we made a conscious decision that providing wipes in all our gyms across the country would generate too much waste. We are always keen to receive feedback, though, so we can improve our service but as we are not based in the gym, I have forwarded your thoughts to the Gym Manager to consider changes suggested. Fantastic experience: Could have more free weights, but other then that - great gym. Opened 24/7 and has great walking in verification system.
