Fantastic experience: Best fitness experience I had in London. Latest technology on gym equipment, magnificent installations, private rooms for group classes, a sauna (which was such a surprise!). Every staff member is really nice and friendly, always ready to help! The cleaning staff also do a great job, everything is impeccable. At the end of my training I got a vegan protein shake, it’s great that they have options for vegans. This was totally a 5 stars experience and I will definitely come back!

Fantastic experience: I have been with the gym for 2+ years and it’s almost like a second home for me here in London. My PT Laura is absolutely brilliant and Denis is always there to sort out any issues and make sure that the gym quality stays - the dream team <3 … The best members gym in London with a great location as well. I also particularly enjoy the yoga classes with Kimberly :) a must try! Just wish that there was a sit down cafe space so I could spend more time here with the amazing protein shakes ;)

Negative experience: **Difficult membership cancellation policy** I had used the gym for 6 months on a Retro-flex contract but then had to freeze my membership after an injury and other health issues. During the time my membership was frozen, I tried to cancel my membership as I was moving out of the area. The gym states that I have to pay an additional one month fee despite not being able to access it, as the membership cannot be cancelled when it’s frozen. Apparently this is in the small print. Equally, I provide them with a doctor’s note and they immediately tell me they want to contact my NHS doctor for further due diligence. What other gym makes such outrageous requests? The gym backed off when I claimed they are potentially trying to breach patient data confidentiality. Where’s your level of customer service? For the high fees you pay, their customer service is shockingly bad! I’ve been so put off by their gym policies that I’d like to warn any potential new joiners. They will make your life difficult when trying to terminate a simple gym membership!

Fantastic experience: Amazing convenient spotless place and happy greeting staff makes it all welcoming. What a gem of a gym when you are traveling and want to get a good workout quickly and hassle free avoid others just check out this gym. Also say hello to very courteous Adrian at the door. He is super kind and helpful with very positive vibe

Fantastic experience: Great boutique gym never too busy and classes are more intimate with great teachers would recommend to visit.

Negative experience: This gym is conveniently located and is usually quite empty. However, the level of customer service is quite unacceptable for the price. They recently increased their rates, yet despite paying a large percentage extra per month, I’d say the service has decreased in quality. They never respond to emails or calls. They send emails by mistake. In fact, they emailed me saying that they’d sent me a guest pass to bring a friend, and when I invited my friend and they made the effort to come across town in the morning to join me, the woman at the front desk told me that they had sent the email as a mistake and it was an error, and that my friend couldn’t come in. Despite it being their mistake and the gym being empty, they wouldn’t be nice and make an exception. Total lack of customer service for the price. Wouldn’t recommend.

Fantastic experience: Edo is the best in town. Such a great customer service, he explained everything to me in detail, showed me how the machines work. After not being able to work out for 7 months due to a big surgery, Edo has taken the time and has been so patient with me while he explained the work out. Thank you, Retrofit and thank you Edo!

Positive experience: This is a nice gym (gym floor more than the downstairs studios) and Edo (acting manager) is very kind when approached in person. However, possibly in line with every other gym, whereas signing up is easy, cancelling the membership (due to lack of use) is proving almost impossible. Communication with the team is difficult, emails are a waste of time and so is the online form one is supposed to use for cancelling. Next step? Cancel the CC the gym uses for charging?

Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend becoming a member at Retrofit London! Not only is the location and their facilities impeccable, but their staff and team of personal trainer’s are just as great. I have also tried several classes from their wide range that you have access to once you become a member, and glad to say I was not disappointed, especially with their pilates and yoga classes!

Fantastic experience: The staff is so friendly and willing to help. The gym itself is beautiful and has great equipment.

Negative experience: My partner and I enjoyed the gym when we lived in the area. However their customer service and record keeping is horrendous! We cancelled our memberships together when we moved away in May 2022. We discovered after 2 years that they only cancelled my membership not my partner’s. We called them and we were told that they require written consent to cancel the membership which we provided, but they’re not allowed to keep the paper record. So now they can’t validate that we submitted the consent form. They admitted it on the phone that we haven’t showed up since March 2022, and that we entered the gym together on the last visit (when we submitted the cancellation form). They can’t explain why only my membership was cancelled and refused to refund my partner. Don’t know if they’re disorganized or dishonest as a business. Won’t recommend them to anyone either way.

Negative experience: Do not believe in their flexible charging. I cancelled and kept getting billed. When I tried to claim back they have refused to compensate me. Immoral and unethical.

Negative experience: The staff is not that polite and not trying to help customers and take responsibility. When an issue occurred, no one apologised and were trying to blame me for what happened. Clearly not something that should be done when you pay that much money for the service. Furthermore, the sales team “forgot” to cancel my membership and I was canceled full price for the whole month, while my membership is only until the 15th. I do not understand how you can forget it when it’s others’ people money involved. Totally awful. Especially for such a price.

Fantastic experience: This is the third gym I subscribe to in London. I am happy to say that is a rare pearl to find. Based on a small boutique fitness model, it offers premium sport equipment and machines. There is a good variety of classes to choose, including yoga and combat classes. However some sought-after courses are hard to book. They are limited to 5,6 attendees so you are sure to be taken care of. PTs are always happy to help and to have a chat even when focused on their own training, like Laura. Sauna is a plus and rarely busy. Good job guys!

Fantastic experience: Matt at reception is the reason why I came to retrofit and he is the best that I have ever seen. Also the gym will be so sad without Matt and I don’t know why.

Fantastic experience: Truly an exceptional gym - excellent facilities, impeccably clean, and small group classes. It’s not overly crowded as well. The staff are also friendly and welcoming. I’m very pleased and couldn’t possibly hope for a better neighbourhood gym!

Fantastic experience: After carefully visiting a couple of gyms near by, with absolutely no doubts Retrofit just impressed me very positively. The staff couldn’t be more attentive and helpful, all the premises and the machines extremely clean, the restrooms simply perfect and the rooms and classes couldn’t be better and more organised. A big congratulations to the owners and everyone involved on it – Kensington was definitely needing exactly this – not an white elephant, super busy and higher prices than what Retrofit offers. Brave guys

Fantastic experience: I had the opportunity to join Retrofit in South Kensington for a week and I have been more than happy and satisfied with my decision. Retrofit offers a very warm no judgment environment to work out at your own pace or with one of their knowledgeable and friendly trainers. Retrofit has also very innovative machines that offer different challenges and are easy to the user. In general, very clean, great staff and a fun environment… Will definitely join again!

Fantastic experience: I started a month ago, and it's safe to say I love this gym! The staff and coaches are incredibly friendly and eager to help, there are a ton of legit workout options, and the facilities are SO clean (seriously, every time I'm there the floor is freshly mopped). I highly recommend the Kickboxing with Stuart and Cycling with Yash!

Fantastic experience: I have joined the club few weeks ago, and couldn’t be happier. I am a very sporty and active person who has used most of the facilities and clubs around London. Retrofit has the best combination of top end self workout equipment and classes. Very hard to find a club with boxing, hot yoga, spinning, etc all in one place! Also has a sauna in the changing rooms that for me is essential. The staff is super professional and friendly - from the cafe, to the Pts to the cleaning ladies. Would definitely recommend
