Negative experience: Poor facilities, over crowded, poor classes, poor customer service and misleading cancellation policy. Stopped using the gym because I didn’t feel comfortable there. One calendar month notice was provided yet I’m being forced to pay until the end of Jan. There are plenty of other gyms in the area that are much more pleasent and better value.

Positive experience: great gym facilities & sauna is also good :)

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. I’ve been a member for over two years. The staff are very friendly, helpful and kind. The music is usually pretty good and all the equipment is great. Most members are very friendly. The gym is usually clean and tidy. I haven’t done an exercise class there yet but they look like fun. The changing rooms and showers are spacious and clean, and there is a sauna. My favourite thing about this gym is the community spirit. I’m never afraid to ask for someone to spot me or for advice, or just to have a bit of a laugh.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of this gym for the last 2 years and it has become my favorite gym ever. Staff are super friendly, and its always kept pretty clean. love it’s open until 11pm on weekdays and the sauna is just so good in the autumn/winter season.

Negative experience: Don't join unless you can tolerate the constant extremely loud yelling from personal trainers. All day every day. They just hang out yelling at each other, messing around, being annoying. It's unbelievably loud and distracting. The gym won't do anything about these individuals, and excuses it as "vibrant atmosphere". Also my bike was stolen from outside.

Fantastic experience: Face-to-face interactions with staff welcoming and friendly. Relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Above all, I love Thursday evening pilates, run by a very knowledgeable and attentive instructor who keeps reinventing the class week after week!

Negative experience: In terms of value for money you're probably better off trying other gyms in the area. Gym can get crowded even outside of typical peak times. Facilities are OK if a little tired. Changing room facilities have been promised to be refurbished for over 3 years but no change yet. They were even closed for a period for the refurbishments but nothing actually happened (in the male changing at least). Lost most stars based on cancellation policy - one month notice. I had two memberships running, thankfully they allowed one to be cancelled with 20 days notice but the other they did not. Spending over £2.3k on fees through loyalty over the last three years seemingly doesn't matter to them. Bit of a cash grab of a policy.

Fantastic experience: Really top quality gym. Plenty of great equipment and classes available, and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for a new affordable gym near Hackney Central.

Fantastic experience: Fit This is an excellent Centre. All staff are friendly and welcoming. Whatever your goals, these can be achieved at Fit This, what with a wide and varied range of equipment. There is also every type of class you can think of! It's also great value for money.

Fantastic experience: I’ve love my time at FitThis, from the initial days of visiting and going through welcome package program to get me going was amazing. All staff are very professional and always have a smile and always there to help and never did I feel unwelcome by the other patrons that were there. I always had opportunities and space for my work out sessions as the design of the space lends itself to this. I’m sad to of had to leave because of a new job in a new area but I really recommend this place over any faceless chain. This place is pure neighbourhood gym

Positive experience: This is a very very friendly gym and you will fell welcomed here so don't be scared if you're worried about stepping into a gym for the first time. I started coming here in the summer and had only been in a gym twice before. I was made to feel welcomed and the free PT sessions they offer really help you build confidence if you're not used to using the machines. The staff are all really approachable and a lot of the gym members are also very friendly and helpful if you're a bit unsure about something. I have previously found gyms very intimidating and felt like I didn't belong there and lacked confidence, but I don't feel like that with this gym. If you are a bit anxious or lack confidence there are off peak times throughout the day when the place is very chill. Because it's not a huge mega gym, it can get busy in peak hours, but people do still tend to be respectful during peak hours, but you might not always be able to get on the equipment you need straight away during mega busy periods. I don't have this problem during off-peak times though. Since I started going here I have also checked out some other gyms in the area, but this one is the friendliest by far with the best vibe. There is also a fairly even split between men and women and it's not full of macho gym bros. I also prefer the equipment in this gym to others nearby.

I made friends here, the classes are amazing, really helpful staff, good music, not the normal gym music. No gym bros, theres a 50/50 women and men ratio, very clean sauna and changing rooms, my favourite gym by miles. feel so comfortable here

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this gym for about 8 years and am sad to be leaving as I'm moving house to Walthamstow. Always friendly staff, lots of good quality equipment and plenty of room to throw weights around. Only thing I'd change is some of the music choices they blast out on the speakers, but each to their own, that's what headphones are for.

Negative experience: Unpleasant experience with the manager of this gym. I was clearly told on the phone by a staff member that I could come in for a trial session, but when I arrived the manager rudely refused to let me in. Highly unprofessional.

Negative experience: Used to be a good gym. New management since 2023 and they're just packing people in and pursuing predatory money-chasing behaviour. I'd suggest elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed this gym. The staff are friendly, it's never too busy, and the offer of a free personalised programme upon joining is really great. It has a great balance of free weight and functional areas, alongside some decent cardio equipment. To top it all off it's kept clean, and changing areas are spacious.

Negative experience: it's not worth £42 per month, in the changing room so in the bathroom it's very dirty, in the sunbed it's greasy! I tried to cancel my subscription 2 months ago and the manager "forgot" to cancel it for me and they continued to take the money from my account. I tried to talk to him about the issue but he was very mean to me and rude even though I showed him the emails from the past proving that I was right!! Now he doesn't answer me anymore!! Be careful!!!

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I've been to - staff are super friendly and welcoming, the equipment is always in good condition and it's one of the most competitively priced gyms I've ever found. You get free training sessions with a PT when you sign-up which is amazing, particularly if you're not that used to designing your own work-out routine or familiar with the equipment. Special shout-out to Izzy who is the best!

Negative experience: Absolute dive that condones harrassment. When you complain they say you're a liar. No respect for anyone whatsoever. Half the equipment is always out of service and it's always messy. I cancelled my membership after 3 years as the place has become unbearable. I gave 4 weeks notice but this isn't enough for this greedy gym who are going to take an additional month on top. The attitude of the manager is simply embarrassing, it's no wonder 5 of my colleagues have also left. If you're expecting quality equipment and to be treated with respect, this is NOT the gym for you. Save your money and go anywhere but here. In response to the mangers lies- both me and my friend approached him separately at the time. He did nothing whatsoever so I left immediately as didn't feel safe. I emailed my concerns and was ignored entirely until I emailed today to ask for an update. 'CCTV' was not reviewed nor was this taken seriously. No quibble? not really since you've spent the entire day sending snarky emails. As per every other poor review, the management is absolutely vile and customer service is non existent. There are posters up everywhere offering cash incentives for good reviews so beware of any 5* as they have been paid.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've been to, from day one you feel welcomed and really confortable. The team is so friendly and respectful, it really makes a difference. They have a personal touch and community atmosphere that most of the gym don't have. The classes are really good, teachers amazing, funny and the room is great with nice lightings and music. The equipments are in good condition and well taken care of, plenty of them. Oh and did I mentioned they have a sauna? All to say, I never thought I could enjoy that much a gym - well done.

Fantastic experience: Great local gym, has quite a lot of machines given its size! I love that it has 4 squat racks. Also, the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Positive experience: I was a member for one year, and this gym has good and not so good things. The showers really need some work because there is always a pond there, and when there are more than 30 people it feels busy (it feels small). On the other, it is just a beautiful spot with good views, a good collection of machines (some of them taken for minutes by people checking their phones and mirrors), the vibe is very correct and the team is really nice. Going to miss it after all.

Fantastic experience: FIT THIS Hackney. I absolutely love this gym & have been a regular since 2014. Members are like a family, location is perfect, staff is the best (especially Sau, Neil, Tim & Matt ( hope they stay forever)), there is a sauna. This place makes me feel strong, happy and confident. Wouldn’t know what to do without this place.

Fantastic experience: I've always thought all gyms are pretty much the same, but this one is actually way better than others I've tried! It's never too busy, but more importantly you get three free sessions with a trainer when you join and mine (Issy) was super-friendly and honestly very helpful. All the other staff are really warm and welcoming too. I'm not exactly Johnny Sportslad so I usually feel like a bit of an imposter in anywhere fitness focused — but this is a v inclusive joint for all sorts of people. Recommend!

Fantastic experience: I spent 5 years training here. Has all the equipment you could need (loads of cardio machines, benches, racks, free weights, etc.), they recently got newer versions of a lot of resistance machines too. There is a separate studio for classes. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's reasonably priced, especially if you take advantage of the discount for making your mates sign up! Would recommend to friend.

Fantastic experience: I love it here! I love exercise but I'm not a gym person; Fit This is the exception to this rule. It's an un-intimidating and friendly environment; it's clean with good equipment. The staff are all great, and the classes are a particular highlight.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had to change gyms because I’ve moved away from Hackney but I miss FitThis a lot. I’ve moved around a lot and tried many different gyms but this one tops them all. Not only does it have all of the equipment you need (and more) but the staff are super friendly and welcoming. I’ve never felt uncomfortable and the vibe was always there! Thanks for being an amazing gym, if I’m ever living in Hackney again signing back up will be the first thing I do

Fantastic experience: I've been working out in Fit This for over three years now and the experience could not have been better. I don't usually feel very comfortable in gym environments but here I always did. If I wanted to be in my own world working out by myself this was always the perfect gym for that. But also, if I was feeling more social or if I needed help, there was always a personal trainer ready to help and always with good vibes and a smile. Neil and Shevron are particularly amazing. I even took a few one-to-one sessions with Shevron and they were really helpful. I am relocating now so I feel super sad to leave this gym. Thank you guys, all the best!

Fantastic experience: I have trained in a number of gyms all over Europe and this is definitely one of the better places. They have just geared up with new machines and staff is always helpful without being obtrusive. Very diverse crowd, everyone is welcome. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Friendly and helpful staff, clean, great equipment. This gym is about keeping it real, serious and new to working out gym goers all come here. And I love that it’s not about what you are wearing or your make up…it’s about getting in a good work out in a pleasant and supportive environment. And you won’t get stuck in some ridiculous membership scheme. Recommend highly!

Fantastic experience: After trying several other gyms around Hackney and Islington, I can confidently say this is by far my favourite. It's has good gear, rarely feels crowded, and most importantly it has a community feel — which so many of the fully-automated chain gyms don't have. The staff are all friendly and I get a good vibe off the people working out. Plus, free sauna? Love this place!

They have their busy times like any gym but post pandemic they are different to the norm.i rarely struggle for equipment and all equipment is well maintained. Facilities, changing rooms, showers & sauna all kept clean and tidy. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate and their FIT programme (which is part of your membership) can really help you toward your goals. I've lived in several parts of London and attended chains and independants and this gym stands out from the crowd! I'll miss it when I have to move away! Great opening times also, allowing for early birds and night owls, always staffed. Highly recommend you try it if you are looking for a gym in the area.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I’ve even been to! The manager, Junior, is lovely and all the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I did some personal training with Lamar and was able to improve my strength and muscle mass. Shervon is also very personable and approachable. They have a great and varied selection of gym equipment, which is new and well maintained. The sauna is amazing and always at high temperature highly recommended!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with a really nice and friendly crew and freshly modernised equipment. The personal trainers are a great bunch and it is a very welcoming no-pressure place suitable for those who want to train hard as well as those who are there for general fitness but who don’t aim to compete in the World Bodybuilding Championship - although I’m sure they can get you ready for it if you change your mind.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym. I actually subscribe to it and going there 4 times a week. Good staff and not overcrowded so far It's my first time in a gym so I cannot so much compare it to other gyms but it got everything I need, if not more. There are few things missing in the free weights area such as a decline bench for barbells however the staff finds you good equivalence exercises if you ask them

Negative experience: Called me at work after getting my details. When I said I couldn't talk on the phone they were straight up rude/ hung up aggressively - shame because I thought the gym was good but it's made me re-consider signing up - if they can't talk to prospective clients politely can only imagine how they are once you're signed up. ** see the other 1 star review on this site also points to the companies approach being aggressive and unpleasant

Fantastic experience: Having been a member for several years, I can truly say this is an excellent community gym. They have a good amount of equipment, all of which is in top condition. Over time they have improved the layout, increasing the space. The vibe is super friendly and the staff are the best I've come across. They are upbeat, motivating and always willing to help. There is also physio on premises, who helped me through a major injury. IMO the best all-round gym in Hackney
