Fantastic experience: Although tricky to find. Fabulous site and food. Maybe could improve breakfast system. A great hotel. Really responsive.

Positive experience: Fabulous hall, great sized dance floor with a nice atmosphere. Downside was a poorly stocked bar charging extortionate prices for what they did have.

Positive experience: Nice weekend here for sports activities location perfect, room nice and clean service polite staff but the wait for food wasn't managed very well but overall nice weekend stay.

Positive experience: Basic accommodation, had to change room ,no hot water, cold so not able to shower. Location good breakfast ok but felt like going into staff area.

Fantastic experience: Lilleshall is a majestic place. Apart from the obvious athletics you see all around, the grounds are a delight to walk around. The hotel part itself is stunning with beautiful wood paneled walls. The food is excellent and plentiful and the staff are a pleasure.

Fantastic experience: We had the most wonderful stay here for two nights whilst waiting for our house to be finished. The young lady who checked us in was welcoming and so friendly. Also a big shout out to Natalia from housekeeping who went over and above for us. We are local however will return for a treat.

Fantastic experience: Originally I came here to visit an art exhibition and I must say - its surrounding park is beautiful, very relaxing, not crowded, great for a walk. So if you need to calm yourself down - there's no better place around

Negative experience: The reason that I am giving it a two star, is because finding the hotel was not very easy, and there should be more signs. The check-in time was 3 pm and checkout was 9:30 am. This is absolutely terrible because if you wish to have a lie in, you are unable to do so. Hotels are there so that you are able to relax. The checkout should be 12 pm. Breakfast wasn’t until 10 am, again, that was very early and not ideal. Should be changed to 10:30am atleast. The gym was only open till 10 pm, and it should be 24 hours as people have paid good money for the hotel. On a positive note, the view was really nice and decent scenery. The room was nice and clean with good facilities for coffee and tea.

Fantastic experience: Staff all welcoming and helpful, very clean and plenty to see and do. The grounds are lovely to have a walk around. The service and food in the cafe was excellent.

Positive experience: Visited here whilst on a football tour with friends. Lovely, spacious rooms with quality, comfortable beds with a good television and tea & coffee facilities. only fault i can give to this hotel is the food. I understand this isn't like a premier inn and stuff like that but i would visit more regularly if the food had better taste and quality because last time i ordered the bacon and has browns were luke warm and the drink was flat as a fart, do expect better and also the hotel is in the middle of a field on a road with barely any lighting and not much warning about oncoming pedestrians but that isn't really the hotels fault. but all in all, a great place for sports trips.

Fantastic experience: Depending on where you stay will obviously impact your visit - if you pay more to stay in the premium roomsi would imagine it is more accessible. From being in the cheaper rooms I feel they would be rather inaccessible to those with disabilities due to the huge ammount of stairs you have to navigate. The rooms are adequate with amazing views of the gardens, the bathroom is standard. They are eco friendly when it comes to the towels so if you don't leave them in the bathtub they won't be replaced. - however during my stay my room was cleaned only once and on neither day were the towels replaced. The breakfast is extremely good for the price you are paying lots of options to choose from and a great seating area. I would recommend not coming in the Golf course end as the road is not ideal Overall it is a decent hotel for the standard rooms.

Fantastic experience: We stayed in the hotel. Exceptional value for a large room and large bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style with everything from cereal, continental and full English. The gardens were beautiful. Just a note that there isn't an evening meal on Sundays. The nearest village pub is the Fox, (also 1st class).

Fantastic experience: My daughter is a gymnast and has been invited twice to lilleshall to train with Olympic female gymnasts. This is a very beautiful place and the area is really peaceful. Beautiful buildings nestled into a quiet countryside. Never stayed over, but would love to experience waking up in such a fantastic place. Can't wait to visit again.

Positive experience: Lovely hotel but not the easiest to find. The sat nav directed to a conference entrance but no sign for the hotel, we discovered it by accident. We went through the main door to the reception to an unmanned reception. We had to search for a member of staff who told ," oh sorry reception is closed" you'll have to go back through the arch to the other reception. Would it be easier to put a simple note on the reception to advice arriving guest ? . When I found the accommodation reception we asked about evening dinner but no mention of buying a meal ticket so another trip to the reception to purchase then it was another hunt in the hotel to find where the dining room was. Apart from that, the hotel is lovely and lovely surrounding grounds . I'm sure these are a simple blip . We will re visit x

Fantastic experience: Hired Ford Hall for an event. Highly recommended. Excellent facilities, helpful staff.

Positive experience: The house was beautiful and the room was great but only really saw 2 members of staff both of which were lovely but it was so so difficult to find the actual hotel and signage was terrible. Food was good value breakfast especially so. But there was no one at reception either when we got there or when we left

Fantastic experience: Held our athletics club Awards Evening here in their Ford Hall room and what a fabulous evening! The staff were all so incredibly helpful, especially Alex Jackson who was helping book, organise and coordinate everything. The room looked brilliant and nothing was too much trouble on the evening. The food which was recommended (pulled pork baps with the trimmings and wedges) was absolutely lovely and had lots of great feedback about it. All in all a 5-star experience and looking to book again already for our next awards night!!!

Negative experience: Promised a garden view. The room had a view of the car park! We had been there for an hour when a couple of strangers opener our door and started to walk in to our room! They had been given a key to the same room! We had to ask them to go back to reception and find another room! The next morning we returned after breakfast and our key didn't work. We had to call for the duty manager to let us in! There were a few more minor problems. To be fair after writing to the Manager she arranged a full refund. But we won't be going there again.

Fantastic experience: Went to a birthday party here. The ceilidh band was the Tern Valley Tinkers. What a great band.

Positive experience: Unbelievable value. Super hotel. Amazing building. Superb service and friendliness from staff. Warm and extremely well kept. Fantastic room. Awesome shower. Amazing grounds to walk around. Remote and peaceful location but easy reach of pubs and nearby Newport. Free gym access on this stay, too. Has a little bar area which gets busy. Price of drinks was surprisingly low. No food available in evenings for guests unless on a conference. Had to go to one of the local pubs (The Last Inn) which had some lovely food. I'm coming back here.

Positive experience: It is a great training facility for hockey in a superb location. Their aim is to deliver a world class facility, sadly the WiFi in the cafe has not worked for c5 years and there is very little 4G signal in the area. Surely the admin staff could rectify this for visitors ‍♂️

Positive experience: Great room, strange location and navigating around/checking in was misleading.

Positive experience: The room was nice but a small bed.. I prefer a larger bed.. Location & grounds are very nice. Breakfast was in a private room that was small & with 10 people sat around them so made for an uncomfortable & cramped setting. Food lukewarm at best.

Positive experience: I can only comment on the squash courts, showers and queen's hall bar. The squash courts have totally inadequate heating which makes them dangerous to play on, especially the non-glass back courts. The showers are way too hot, almost scalding. The bar staff are friendly but they do not manage the beer, at all, well. The beer is often not available or waiting for a delivery.

Negative experience: I don't know how this place does business. I telephones 12 times on Sunday 2nd October between 09:45 and 10:00 (the answer phone give 6 options, in desperation aI tried each option twice) and my call timed out without being answered!!! Not an auspicious start.

Fantastic experience: Excellent stay here for the over 50s national walking football finals weekend. Great value rooms, excellent service and breakfast. Also set in some lovely grounds.

Positive experience: The Hall is a beautiful place to stay with regards to the grounds and building. Finding your way in is difficult unless you are aware of going to the main reception and through the revolving doors to check in. If staying in the main Hall then I strongly suggest considering upgrading to a room with aircon. The mattress and pillows are extremely firm, and whilst toiletries provided there was no soap. There is a fridge in the room though The food is either fine dining or a buffet at a set price, regardless of how much/little you eat. The local pubs are far better to eat at although bring good shoes as it's about an hours walk....beautiful scenery and surroundings make the walk worthwhile, although yes you could drive.

Positive experience: It's a beautiful place and surroundings. I've been playing sports here for nearly 20 years, but this review is based on staying at the hotel room. Checking in was not simple, with numerous'unmanned' desks. After 10mins of walking around to find someone, I ended up using an internal phone. They give you a mobile, but there is no mobile signal at the venue. The rooms are extremely underwhelming, tired and just looked worn out. My view was onto a flat roof which was a Shame,. The WiFi quite shocking.. Not even good enough to take a teams call. It's unlikely I'll use their accommodation again.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful gardens,excellent doors facilities

Positive experience: We stayed in the sports centre accomodation. You can either stay in the hall for a higher price or stay in the sports centre which is a separate building. Positives: Rooms were clean enough, WiFi is good and there is air conditioning. Staff are friendly and the grounds are very pretty. Not bad value for money as the sports rooms are approx £60-90 per night. Negatives: Accessibility to the grounds isn't great, there are a lot of steps and pebble paths. Some automatic doors within the accomodation don't have sensors so you end up getting crushed by the door if you don't have assistance from someone. NB: The checkout time is 09:30am, which is a little early in my opinion. Most accommodations have a check out time of around 11am.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful surroundings. Attended a football tournament here. Very well staged and very popular venue for sports and gatherings

Positive experience: 3 stars sounds harsh but bear with me. We had a room in the very impressive old Victorian Hall and the room was well decorated, expansive, clean and tidy with a modern heating/cooling system. Finding the complex was easy enough BUT the signs for the Hall/Hotel were non-existent and proved very frustrating. We arrived around 6:30pm and on phoning the number provided went to voicemail, the reception now being closed. We did not hear back from them. We parked up behind Kent Hall (and had our first sighting of the Hall from here) and my wife walked to the old hall. The staff seen there were rude and uncaring and flapped a hand in the general direction of the reception area. We then had to suffer the same staff again as she/they flapped a hand in the general direction our room might be in. There were no complimentary toiletries, soap or shower gel in the room and not enough tea bags and milk for two even for a one night stay. Wi-fi certificate had expired and was now unsecure! A good spread for breakfast but most of the cooked items were luke warm. The grounds are beautiful and well kept.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gardens, and an excellent wildlife trail for kids. Even better because it's all free! Nice little cafe too, and plenty of parking.
