Positive experience: The pool and spa are excellent. The gym has nice equipment but is annoyingly small and I don't think they have utilized the space as well as they could. They only have one of a lot of things and it gets fairly busy so chances are you aren't going to have the freedom to do the workout you want. Would be a lot better if they ditched a few machines for more free weights. As much as I love the other facilities, the gym would be a deal breaker if I didn't have access to another one at work.

Positive experience: Playing Halloween crazy golf and stayed for a meal. Very nice.

Fantastic experience: Lovely 2 night stay, all the staff were so friendly, we had a two night stay with a 6 year old, plenty to do including tennis, swimming and fairy trails. The apartments are ideal for small families with all the luxuries of home.

Negative experience: Treatment was cut had a back massage 20 min the massage was not good at all no routine and no pressure the room was to small and not nice at all. could hear the therapist walking around and knocking into by bed room was dirty and oil was cold I will not return again sorry

Positive experience: China Fleet country club, always thought high things of this place and only visited a handful of times. Now I'm here monthly for work and all I can say is scratch the surface and it makes me uncomfortable. I have been in many leisure centres over the years (as I work in that industry) and on closer inspection this place does leave a huge amount to desire. The slide looks dangerous shaking even when the smallest of children go down it with rust showing on the outside of the slide. Plugs in the sports hall area are cracked and needing repair, they seem to pull away from the wall slightly if you plug anything in... Then there's the cafe... Granted they were very busy today, but tables not kept on top of cleaning wise between customers. On the surface yes a lovely place which looks very posh, but not somewhere I would take my little boy nor will I ever been ordering a drink or any food here ever again

Fantastic experience: Only stopped off for a round of adventure golf. Such a clean and tidy course. Loved the sound effects too.

Fantastic experience: Went to play Woodland adventure golf. What a fab little course. Cleverly thought out and beautifully kept. Loved it.

Positive experience: Went there with an organised coach trip. Pre ordered our meals, shown to our tables and meals soon arrived. I had a nice chilli and a moretti lager. Good service by the young staff.

Fantastic experience: Have stayed previously with our children but they are now 22 and 24, so first time just us (mum and dad). As always loved it, great place to relax and unwind, all the staff are really friendly. The apartment was always spotless. Huge thanks to everyone, we loved our stay.

Positive experience: Our stay here was just OK, everything was very dated and needs upgrading. Rates for rooms were expensive for what you got. The best thing about this place is the cafe/restaurant. The food was delicious and very friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Came to use the driving range and Adventure golf. Great service and facilities. Adventure golf looks very new and tidy, very cute. No need to book, was not busy which is always a very pleasant surprise in Cornwall, in August. Ate in the upstairs restaurant afterwards and was very nice food, reasonably priced.

Negative experience: I had a really bad experience with staying at you’re China Fleet Country Club Hotel and I was absolutely disgusted with the way I was treated due to discrimination and I was not treated equally and the staff ignored me when I was speaking to them and I feel that it was out right discrimination and I would never go back to this hotel and I would not recommend if you’re a person of colour.

Positive experience: Hubby and I had an Indulgence Spa Day booked for today however, due to staff sickness we were downgraded to a mini spa day which was totally fine, we were called on Friday and informed - here is our honest review: Value for Money - on the face of it, spa access, pool, 25 minute massage & 2 course lunch for £80. Spa - first impressions, lovey spa however it was far too overcrowded. Every place we went too, if we were longer than a few minutes, other people would keep looking over and you felt you had to get up and move. There wasn't enough space for the amount of people in there. Pool - was nice, a little bit dark & when we first got there the pool was full of aqua aerobics so we were unable to swim for an hour. Massage - was OK, the masseuse was very good at finding the problem areas but there is definitely room for improvement. Lunch - the food was amazing. The server we had was so lovely and attentive towards us. Overall - we had a nice time but there is definitely room for improvement. I guess we had heard so many good things and maybe we were a bit disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Great place to stay for business as you do get full use of the facilities. I usually avoid the restaurant as have not found the food that great quality wise however the rooms are equipped to make your own meals. The carpark is quite a walk when you have many bags, a temp stay waiting area to unload would be grand but until then, just have to make a few trips or bring a little camp trolley

Positive experience: I only had a day trip to the spa. Followed by a meal. Both very good. We then went to play crazy golf and had a lot of fun.

Fantastic experience: Lovely studio apartment with tea, coffee, squash compliments. And washing up liquid, tea towel and cloth. The bed was huge and comfortable. We stayed for two night's, and our room was cleaned, bed made and towels changed. We had breakfast and evening meals, which was excellent. Good size portions and excellent tasty meals. All staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities and indoor pool brilliant. I had a Signature Pedicure which was excellent. I would definitely recommend and I would definitely like to stay again. Oh and hubby enjoyed playing golf. ⛳

Positive experience: Played golf,abit pricey, hired a trolley the wheel kept falling off and when reported the guy at the desk did not give a monkeys. If you don't want to be there mate get another job.poor

Fantastic experience: I personally love it here. The rooms are so lovely and the spa is great. Can be a bit busy depending on the time of day but still lovely. They have just revamped the cafe and it looks amazing.

Fantastic experience: It's really has lovely scenery, and I would attribute it to a small villa away from the bustle of the town. Had Mexican dish with my husband, my first time, and I really loved it. We are thinking of visiting next time and spending the weekend away from work .

Fantastic experience: Loved it. Took our four and eight year old and they didn't want to leave. Big fans of the water slide. It's also a great base for exploring the South coast.

Fantastic experience: I went to the spa for 2 hours for the first time, I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, it's a small spa and there's no pool just for the spa, but you're able to use the main one. Overall - it's a nice little spa and for £25 for 2 hours, you can't really complain. I'm definitely going to be coming monthly. :)

Fantastic experience: We went as a group for my sisters hen do, mini spa day and we wasn't disappointed!! access to the pool and spa with lunch and a treatment of our choice to finish. It was fair to say we all had a lovely day and was super relaxed after. Staff were friendly and helpful highly recommend

Positive experience: Didn't actually visit the Country Club, but did visit the Nature Trail and Bird Hides, it's free but you have to get the code for the 2 hides from main reception, be aware both hides have steps to gain entry, the pathway is also very wet/muddy and steep in places.

Negative experience: Terrible. We went to the lounge for Sunday lunch to be told that there is a 1 hour wait on all food. We decided to wait, but when it arrived it was the wrong order! When we told the member of staff, they took it away. We asked if the food was meant for another table and she said “I’m not sure what’s going on”. We eventually got our food. I don’t know what is so “famous” about the Famous Fleet Burger as it was quite bland and tasteless.

Fantastic experience: My daughter treated me to a massage at the beauty spa , I had a lovely girl called Jessica who made me feel at ease , I had the most wonderful and relaxing time , I will definitely book to see Jessica again . We then went for food , and it was delicious , lovely and clean and Lovely staff . I'm looking forward to going back .

Fantastic experience: Excellent short break with nice apartments, excellent facilities including a very nice swimming pool, spa, gym, golf course and high quality crazy golf course. Set in the beautiful hills in the Tamar Valley near Saltash and only 15 minutes drive from Plymouth. It's an excellent location and a lovely place, suitable for families, couples, anyone on. business and leisure stays.

Negative experience: My sister booked a well needed spa day for her and my mum. Our dad is really ill and was taken into the hospital again during the night. My sister explained the awful situation and asked if they could rebook. They said they couldn't do that and that if they didn't go, she'd lose the whole payment. Absolutely heartless people given the situation.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I visited China fleet for the wedding fair. Although it was nice, it just wasn't what she was looking for .nothing special about the room for the wedding night .

Fantastic experience: Went to their Woodland adventure golf earlier in the year, had a fun time. Loads of easy parking, worth a visit. There is a cafe attached too which is handy if you fancy a drink or snack.

Negative experience: If you book this hotel please make sure of your T&Cs. I booked through a third party and the hotel refused to cancel my booking despite 2 months notice. Lady on the phone from the hotel was very unhelpful and somewhat patronising. Hotel refused to speak about my booking as it was through a third party. Would never book this hotel again. £160 out of pocket and the room sat empty.

Fantastic experience: Had a spa day here, wow!! Such a lovely day, treatments were amazing. Had a full massage & facial. Staff very friendly. Food was delicious & huge portions. Swimming pool area very clean. Aqua spa was good, although a little too busy, could do with being bigger. Definitely recommend a spa experience here, excellent value for money.

Positive experience: Went with my sister for a spa day for our birthdays … the spa was okay, nothing particularly different and the heated loungers were rather uncomfortable , but the staff were pleasant , the food in the upstairs restaurant was reasonably priced , well presented and the potions were large . The thing that made our day was the massage we had in the afternoon , lovely staff and fab massage … would go back for a massage and a meal , would probably skip the spa

Negative experience: Just got back from a family meal of about 18 of us. The steak I had was cold and verg very tough. I would not recommend the steak four of us had it all the same.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful rooms with plenty of space. Well equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave & kettle) with breakfast bar. Pool and spa were a real bonus. Food at the restaurant was good.

Negative experience: Good rooms i like the fact its apartment not really close to anything such as shops so your quite isolated, my only issue is the breakfast options which was quite expensive on our 5 day package totaling £200 it is a very small kitchen with no variety its not a buffet, there was no food when we came down to eat,the option for vegatarians is non existennt was given the worst burnt vegan sausages ive ever had, one morning we was told the cooker had gone home and had to wait over 1hr for food and there was only 3 diners, really really bad food service, great swimming pools for kids and spacious playgrounds for kids, but the food option is bad really bad, i would avoid taking the breakfast option as it's either full english breakfast or literally 1 or 2 pastries.

Positive experience: Stayed 2 nights , one night in cottage , one night in apartment - would choose apartment over cottage. The only difference between the two is cottage has extra bathroom and small self contained outside space (unfortunately invested with ants ☹️) Apartment, excellent and much better value for money . Staff friendly and professional, great pool and indoor and outside play areas for kids.

Fantastic experience: We had our wedding here recently and it was outstanding! Everything to the attentiveness, attention to detail, professionalism was just perfect. We had the most amazing day and the experience as a whole was incredible - from the ladies in the sales office to the staff in F&B to Julie Monk and Kevin who both looked after us to no end. Fantastic experience: We had our wedding here, what a magical day! Everything was perfect. The staff are all friendly & professional. The apartments are clean & spacious. Our guests had a wonderful time here. Food was outstanding! Very delicious. Julie Monk & her team are absolutely amazing. Our day was everything we wished for and more. This all can be expected on any other normal day too as we've visited afew times. Beautiful grounds, and plenty for families to do.

Positive experience: We stayed over for a night for my partner’s birthday after going to a festival nearby. The rooms are nice and spacious, but the club is very family oriented, which isn’t what we were looking for… Also, we paid an extra £24 for breakfast to find out the next day that it ends at 10am and it’s located in another building, which wasn’t mentioned to us. Thankfully the staff was able to accommodate us kindly. Clean, good staff, good service, very pricey though.

Fantastic experience: We only went here to play crazy golf but it's a good course, with sound effects and clever landscaping. Balls are in four different colours do you don't get them mixed up. Lovely day finished off with a cornetto and free parking if you are using the venue. You can also play Table Tennis for free and there is a small kids playground. EV charging points available too.

Fantastic experience: We've been to China Fleet a few times, especially around Easter, because they put on a fantastic Easter weekend. Because it's a country club, everything revolves around golf, health, and spa treatments. Wonderful swimming pool, my children love it I'm very excited about all of it, therefore my evaluation is based on a family day out. We used the play area and café areas, which are both excellent, clean, and enjoyable. We also played crazy golf, which was very busy but also an excellent, inventive, well-produced, and hard course. There is plenty of parking, and the rates don't appear to be too high.

Negative experience: The food, service and location were excellent HOWEVER we really didn't want to have to listen to blooming football on the television while we were having lunch and a chatter. Without sound would have been acceptable but it was quite an off putter for us and unlikely to be returning.

Fantastic experience: Bad weather led to cancellations at White Sand Bay Golf and the Looe Golf Club. Our group was glad to have discovered this fantastic golfing venue, rather a most comprehensive country club with indoor pool, courts etc amenities. Back to golfing, it is a parkland style course and we enjoyed lite soup and sandwich lunch at the golf bar before our round

Fantastic experience: Great place to go. Swimming for the kids and little indoor play area. Also got a golf course and spa aswell. What more could you ask for.

Negative experience: A regular normally, but it's Gone down hill massively in recent months, even thou you purchase food for four people your still not allowed to feed your one year old child? I understand if you bring your own food in and feed yourself, but to be told to put your food away for your kids?? The most fussiest people on earth and the current climate we are in eating out is expensive as it is, no commen sense I'm afraid. Will not be back

Fantastic experience: Took my daughter in law and granddaughter to the pantomime this afternoon. Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing the Take That Tribute band at the end of the month, we need more of these nights.

Fantastic experience: This place is more than just a 'golf club' / hotel.. its set in acres with some scenic views.. can boast of a good sized gym and fitness studios that has obviously had a lot of investment... and it has a decent size swimming pool complete with big water shoots .. amd of course sauna & jacuzzi.. and like most golfing spots has a spa although I didnt try any of the treatments due to lack of time. I did try the food in their Brasserie restaurant - I tried the grilled chicken with bacon in a leek sauce w mashed potato & green vegetables and I can say it was very good. The rooms here are more like mini apartments with kitchenette & the room I was in had a separate living room w sofa that folded out into a bed in addition to bedroom that had en suite bathroom. Recommend.

Fantastic experience: Today we took our nearly 3 year old son, Monty, to have breakfast with Santa. Between being a lockdown baby and having covid last Christmas, this year was his first exposure to Santa and the festivities. He’s had a couple of meetings with Santa this year (at nursery etc) but was utterly terrified. However, this morning a cheeky little elf called Alesha and her sidekick Jay turned everything around. Jay helped me navigate the buffet with a plate in both hands and a toddler who insisted on serving his own pancakes. And Alesha took us on a detour to see Santa as Monty had figured out what direction he was in and was reticent to go. Once we got there she showed him the snow outside Santa’s grotto and introduced us personally to the big guy himself. Monty loved it and I could’ve cried with relief and gratitude. He hasn’t stopped talking about Santa since. Hands down, Alesha gave me the best Christmas gift in the world. China Fleet, you should be very proud of your staff. Thank you x

Fantastic experience: From the grounds to the swimming pool, everything was fab. Staff are welcoming throughout, and the aqua spa/swimming pool experience was relaxing and well worth the £20 for two hours. Food was good quality and served quickly with a smile, and the brasserie had a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. I will return with friends and family

Fantastic experience: We used to be members of another nearby club and decided to give China Fleet a go. Way better than anything else you find in this area. Their facilities are state of the art and the place is family friendly which is an important factor for us. I would think we will stay members here whilst we live in this area. Great team, great facilities, great food also.

Fantastic experience: We went to the aqua spa, £20 for 2 hours of relaxation. Absolute bliss. Ample free parking. Whatever they have in the showers left my hair softer than it has ever been! Highly recommended experience

Fantastic experience: Great driving range, with touchscreen that track the ball and swings, very enjoyable. Shop on site is very good and reasonably priced. Closeby toilets and club cleaning facilities. Area looked clean and tidy. Great to be able to order drinks to your pod via the app. A wider variety of food would be great. Can't wait to come back

Positive experience: The place has problems. While the room and main area was clean and looked good, the food in the bar area was awful. My chicken was like rubber, the fish dry and solid. Burnt garlic bread. Just no care. Given the star rating the food needs massive improvement.

Positive experience: Love China Fleet. Everything is there for your stay. Rooms are little apartments, home from home. Facilities great: swim, spa, massage badminton, squash courts, play areas, soft play, golf driving range and golf course. Third time here..love it

Negative experience: Visited recently to consider membership unfortunately a number of facilities were unusable due to maintenance or breakdown and my wife and daughter felt quiet intimidated due to the majority of people using the facility were male I’d say 95% at the time of our visit. Not very family friendly.

Positive experience: Stunning location with some good facilities. The pool isnt the biggest but ideal for families and the spa is decent too. The food however is very hit and miss and not the cheapest but it is still a lovely place

Positive experience: Visited yesterday to use the spa. It was extremely busy so at times you had to stand and wait for something to become available. It was very noisy due to the amount of people in attendance. What should have been a relaxing experience was the complete opposite. It was good value for money at £20 per person but feel there should be a restriction on the amount of people that can visit at one time.

Positive experience: First visit despite being a military veteran, had a decent if overcooked lunch but good facilities available should you want to golf/swim/stay etc. A good base for touring South Devon or Cornwall.

Fantastic experience: We stayed here for a week at the start of the summer holidays. What a fantastic place this is and the kids loved every minute. A great location to explore the local attractions or just stay on the complex and enjoy all the great facilities. The staff were all incredibly helpful and our accommodation was always spotlessly clean throughout our stay. We will most definitely be revisiting China Fleet for another relaxing break.

Fantastic experience: We stayed one night with 2 primary school aged children and it couldn't have been any better. We booked to stay again in October we enjoyed it that much. The staff are excellent, food and drink is very good value and the apartment style accommodation is really family friendly.

Fantastic experience: We stayed for the first time. The apartment was perfect for three adults. Beds are very comfy, even a pint of fresh milk. Aqua Spa is a lovely way to start the day.

Fantastic experience: Both my husband and I had the Detox treatment at the spa. Was amazing. My therapist Cheryl was BRILLIANT. She used good pressure which released my knots and I felt great for the rest of the day. Wonderful, calming and relaxing.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely 1st class customer care and service. We were looked after from the moment we phoned. Sandy was amazing as were the lifeguards and restaurant staff, .morning and evening. The apartment was modern, well equipped and comfortable. The apartment was so imacukately clean too. The disabled wheelchair accessible pool was wonderful and the help and attention from the lifeguard on duty was present with help offered without being over bearing or over cautious, which made for a 1st time in a pool for many years for my disabled husband an amazing experience. We can't thank China Fleet staff enough for making us feel so welcome. We hope to be back soon x Kate & Clive

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic experience the afternoon tea was. We were looked after from the minute we arrived. Everything was fantastic and so fresh. The staff on duty were amazing. It made our visit extra special, so a huge thank you to the lovely ladies who looked after us

Positive experience: Accommodation is first class, food is excellent and staff extremely helpful. Facilities are very good but golf course very difficult in these bone hard conditions. Bring plenty of balls !!

Fantastic experience: 3 of us used the facilities for a spa day, including a treatment in the Barn, use of the aqua spa and food in the brassiere. Every aspect was fantastic! The team in the Barn and the Brassiere were so welcoming and provided 5 * customer service. The only bit of feedback would be how slippery the floor is in the aqua spa, we understand this is never going to be a quick fix but feel it should be looked at! Thank you for a lovely day!

Negative experience: Stayed over night , and had the most awfull breakfast experience in the morning, The so called chefs were so slow bringing fresh food out, and had the most miserable faces ever, people were qued for ages with some food on there plates getting colder by the second while they waited for new servings of fresh food to be THROWN into the hot trays in front of us. Also the so called clean plates that you put your breakfast on , were in fact mostly dirty. At the bars , the service was also at a slow pace. I ended up walking away without buying a drink. Take your own eggs and sausages etc and cook it your selves in your room , that way you'll will have a lovely hot on time full plate without all the waiting around.

Positive experience: Great hotel rooms were lovely and the grounds were excellent and beautiful. Staff were very friendly In the hotel. Food was expensive and average we only ended up eating here for dinner once as it just wasn't that great. Breakfast was lovely although the staff in the mornings were very grumpy and moaned at once for coming down at 9.30am even though breakfast closed at 10.00am! Swimming pool and gym were lovely and the free spa made it even more worth the visit! Would definitely come back here and stay again.

Positive experience: Went to the China fleet to meet up with family over the Jubilee weekend and have lunch. It wasn't very busy so we were able to get a table to seat 5 adults, 2 kids, a high chair and new born The kids really enjoyed the softplay area, it's unsupervised so you have to keep an eye on them. The food was quick and pretty good. I was alittle disappointed in the kids carrot and cucumber sticks as they appeared to be dried out like they were pre cut and just served. Sarah didn't eat much of them anyway as she was more interested in my food.

Positive experience: Visited the bistro. Nice food. Bit noisy with children, but it was Saturday lunchtime so that was to be expected. Could have done with a quick sweep under the tables though as there was quite a bit of food kicking about down there.

Fantastic experience: Great long weekend away with all the guys. Although we are all retired now it's a brilliant place for families with or without children. We come every other year as a group. Fantastic value for money great facilities which are always so well updated. We'll done you guys and look forward to our next visit.

Positive experience: Did a stay and play 2 rounds, B&B and dinner with a society. Only one course here but its fairly decent with some tricky holes. Greens were in pretty good order especially considering they get a hammering. The par 4, 14th with a drive over 180 yards of water proved a challenge too far for some of the older guys. Hired a buggy for day 2 £25. The driving range was very good with shot tracker in every bay. Accommodation is a small flat type apartment, twin room, bathroom, lounge and kitchen with a fridge, so plenty of room. Food was excellent for dinner and breakfast along with the service. Bar prices usual golf club prices.

Positive experience: Fabulously clean and well maintained facility. I enjoyed my massage, the Aquasauna, the lounge, the walks and the cafe with it's impressively designed crazy golf course. Less so the delay at check-in through lack of staff and the uncomfortably hot breakfast room but, mostly, the completely inedible gluten-free sausages in the 'Brasserie'. Overall good but not perfect.

Positive experience: I asked for gluten free sausages and mash in the restaurant. When it was delivered, I was told it was vegan. When I questioned this I was advised they were also gluten free. As they were also vegan they obviously contained no meat. As a coeliac, I can and would like to eat meat so your restaurant should provide gluten free meat dishes. The sausages were inedible! Hard to cut and awful tasting. The plate was swimming in peas and presentation was not good. I did report this to a member of staff who apologised but in hindsight, I should have asked to speak to a manager. Other meals were good and overall my party were all happy with their chosen meals.
