Fantastic experience: Very central for where I wanted to go. Caravan was lovely and clean and had everything I needed. The only thing, some nicer wine in the shop would have been good but that's only my taste. The recommendation for St Nectans Waterfall was so appreciated, what a great visit.

Fantastic experience: What an absoloutey amazing and beautiful place to go for a holiday, my boyfriend and I booked here for four nights and just enjoyed ourselves so so much,All the staff were attentive and polite, the facilities were clean, welcoming and easily accessible, the rooms were immaculate and we had a lovely welcoming package with your basic essentials such as, tea, coffee, sugar sachets etc, this made us feel welcome and right at home, the activities were fun and well worth it, the food was delicious honestly hats off to the chef I couldn't get enough of the food here, on top of that they have a shop by reception with gifts, souviniers and some basic essentials if needed.They also have, two game rooms with arcade games, pool tables, mini bowling alleys and an indoor swimming pool ,all together this place is a bargain for the price that they charge I would 100% reccomend coming here for a holiday you won't regret it thats for sure. As a side note :They also have loads of leaflets around inside of the games rooms with things to do outside the resort perfect activities for everyone to do, I rhought that was a thoughful thing they offer. Overall it was a wonderful place and we are most definitely coming back!

Fantastic experience: It was amazing here! There are many activities to do here and is very child friendly and they are very welcoming with dogs. There are lots of facilities and the food is very nice. We will definitely be returning!

Positive experience: Over all we have had a great experience. We have re-booked many times now. The only problem i have on hos visit is the bed is uncomfortable and we are right next to the train track. I was surprised we were in what feels like a private rentable. But the bed is awful. The location for us works out well but I can imagine if you don't have your own car it would be an issue. All the safe have been lovely and great they remember us which is an amazing personalised touch. All the kids activities are brilliant. Pool is fantastic all bit the changes we seen on different visits. 90% of the time the life guards are good fun theres only one that's grumpy but then of course there's always one. We will return again without a doubt.

Fantastic experience: Third time here. Never been to a site more than once but we love it here and keep coming back, even though it is around 350 miles away. Lovely clean site. Not busy and banging if that is what you want from a holiday. Been in three different caravans and they are all very well equipped for everything you need. There was nothing we could think of that is missing and we needed. Location is good for exploring but is away out from Newquay itself but this suited our family. Plenty of activities for kids to do which are bookable and for all ages. Clean indoor pool and also a splash pad outside for the summer. Welcome pack included in each stay which included tea, coffee, sugar and milk and also a kitchen pack which includes tea towel and washing up liquid. You also receive a soap in each bathroom and towels.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful and very special place for us... returned three times now. Well maintained park, a very friendly staff team, caravans always in great condition, dog friendly, indoor swimming pool, bar & restaurant... couldn't fault it. Feels very safe. Hot tubs are available in some caravans. Centrally positioned on the north coast of Cornwall, only 20 mins drive from Newquay, and you can reach some of the best attractions of Cornwall within 30-40 minutes drive (North or South Coasts). We love it so much we've just bought our own caravan on the site!

Positive experience: Statics at little dated and worn, nicely situated outside newquay town its self, very nice pool and facilities, and lots for kids to do activity wise

Positive experience: A lovely site, very clean. WiFi fantastic. Everything provided, even down to small welcome pack of tea, coffee and milk. Only downside was the foul stench from the drains and having a workman outside everyday working on them. As it was the main system for the site, it certainly left a foul smell toward the back end of the accomodation, which unfortunately was the main bedroom.

Negative experience: Horrific experience, very poor accommodation dirty Rome’s and stuff are not pleasant and rude overall very poor experience. I do not recommend it.

Negative experience: we’ve had a very unpleasant stay , we found bed bugs & insects on our beds on the first night we checked in & had to leave the accommodation after midnight. Then we were given another accommodation which we also faced problems as soon as we entered , there was at least 30 fly inside the bathroom and the living room, by the time we settled in the second accommodation and slept was 3am! Gavin the sales manger was rude & denied everything even after being shown videos of the bed bugs, insect and flies. The cutlery were very dirty, there was spider webs and flies all around the living room and bedrooms. So disappointing. The staff were not bothered about the complaint we had made and were not helpful at all. Would definitely not return to this place.

Negative experience: The lodges were not clean. There was bedbugs in the beds and swarm of 40 flies in our bathroom. Highly not recommended. The staff and manager Gavin was not understanding and sympathetic towards our experience. He was not willing to compensate us. We had a terrible experience and had to change our lodge at midnight because of the insects in our beds.

Negative experience: Worst experience we had as a group in a long time, and we stay at many places regularly. This accommodation hygiene was poor and dirty. Management mr Gavin was arrogant and not understanding he was in denial when pictures and evidence was shown to him in regard’s to the property having bed bugs and insects. Luckily, we had booked through Airbnb so we contacted Airbnb and got a full refund. If we book with them directly there was nothing we could do as the manager mentioned he cannot as is not willing to compensate us in any way

Fantastic experience: Wow wow wow... what a great complex as soon as you walk into the main club house you feel relaxed, nice friendly reception staff ,Beth on bar was friendly, the van we had was clean smelt lovely, the pool looked welcoming although didn't use this time round. We had a problem with the TV in my dad's room in van an so we reported it an with in 10 minutes the boss of maintenance turned up and fixed it, it was nice to sit by the bar and enjoy our drinks . Thank you piran meadows what ever your doing you are doing it right

Negative experience: Spent the week here just as the kids went back to school in September and while it’s ok it wasn’t worth the £875 I paid for the week. It’s a very very quiet site with no nightlife, no entertainment and no real way to get to any nightlife. The caravans are 10 years old and are now showing their age with an obvious lack of maintenance, while my caravan was clean the furniture didn’t match, the kitchen was missing even basic necessities such as a baking tray to facilitate cooking a meal, the grill pan didn’t fit the grill, literally had two saucepans and a roasting tin to cook meals with. The whole place looks like they spent a lot of money 10 years ago and not a lot since. The hob tub whilst functional and well managed from a water hygiene point of view it was tired and showing its age. Now the more serious things the gas appliances in my caravan had a at risk notice from April this year after a CO alarm activation there’s no evidence in the caravan that the appliances have been serviced and recertificated as required in fact half the cooker hob wouldn’t stay lit, the fire extinguisher should have been maintained in April and hasn’t and I noticed a lack of smoke detectors in the caravan just Carbon Monoxide detectors installed which are now a statutory requirement. As a Technical manager and Authorising Engineer in the FM industry it screams a lack of control of statutory compliance if the gas appliances have been serviced where’s the paperwork why isn’t there a gas logbook where all the paperwork is filed? Why is half in the caravan half wherever? The staff were friendly, I had a couple of meals in the bar and while they were ok it was a could do better grade from presentation to quality and quantity of what was served. Beer prices weren’t too bad £5.10 a pint and it was a decent pint. Overall it was a base of operations while I went exploring Cornwall on my own, if I’d of bought my family for a holiday here I’d of probably been very disappointed. Think next time I’ll go back to Henda I think.

Negative experience: We thought its going to be a nice place, It wasn't. Rooms smells like human urine. Absolutely disgusting. WiFi was completely unacceptable and unusable. 1 bar mobile data provided more Internet than the WiFi. Staff in the reception was more interested on their phones instead of helping guests. Definitely wouldn't recommend and personally I won't return there.

Negative experience: Myself and my family stayed in a 3 bed lodge with hot tub it is supposed to be premier it is budget worst lodge we ever stayed in. The furniture was allfull felt grubby not nice. The curtains don't fit I was so disopointed with my lodge would not stay again.

Positive experience: Lovely quite place. A short ride to a lot of destinations. Some good facilities are on site. This is our second visit, and would you believe in the same chalet .

Negative experience: Unfortunately not the cleanliest of experiences, Wadebridge lodge with hot tub. The lodge was in dire need of a deep clean, edges of carpets thick with dust, dust webs and cobwebs in most corners, thick dust on all wardrobes, shelving etc, Stains on carpets which i assume a lot of the smells were from... Stains on curtains. Lodge absolutely stank of dogs to the point where we had no option but to go out to Tesco's to get odor eliminators, fabric spray and two plug ins. So much so that the smell has permeated most of our items and even into the car. Even vacuuming, the vacuum still has whatever the smell is in there, turned it on a bam, vomit educing. The staff were ever so friendly and apologetic and offered to clean the lodge but we both agreed that this would not sort the issue as this would require, carpets cleaning, curtains, mattresses, sofas and so on. I did question that when booking surely if you haven't asked for a pet lodge, you wouldn't get a pet lodge. Side note that when booking through Hoseasons, there is the "with pet" or "no pet" option which doesn't make its way to the site either, therefore advised when booking to ask for a lodge that does not cater for pets well in advance. Which upon thinking about it, seems strange that pets and no pets are allowed to mix considering allergies, or at least very thorough clean prior to swapping over. None the less, the staff were fantastic, the site itself is in a great location and the facilities are very well looked after. But the quality of the lodge received has been a massive blow in my opinion and we most likely will not be returning due to this.

Positive experience: Unexpected last minute caravan holiday, was pretty much what I expected, tired flimsy caravan, smelt very rustic. Wasn't serviced once and I was there a week! Miles from the beach, all for the same price as a serviced apartment actually on the beach in Spain. If your outlook on life is "well we survived the war" then I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but spending that much money on a tin can in a field is not my cup of tea. There are so many areas of improvement I cannot list them all.

Fantastic experience: We come here on holiday a lot and we love it. This year is the first time he came with our daughter and she loved it. The staff are all amazingly helpful and friendly . The lodges are beautiful and clean and it feels so safe overall. It’s a slight drive away from newquey town center but for us who drive that’s no problem at all :)

Positive experience: Very clean park with good food and helpful staff. Could do with thinning out trees so views can be seen from decking area.

Positive experience: Great place, a few bits for the kids to do but no entertainment at night which is a bit of a let down. The pool times were slightly odd. The Bistro was lovely food but over priced for what it was. Our caravan was lovely and spacious but wasn't the cleanest as there was dust all over the window ledges and a few of the utensils weren't clean. All staff we met were absolutely lovely people! Over all a great little place just on the edge of Newquay. Would stay again.

Fantastic experience: We have stayed here twice now and it has quickly become our favourite resort when we want to stay down south. The resort is very clean with friendly staff. It has plenty for kids to do and is a nice quiet site.

Positive experience: This is our 3rd visit to the site, great uncommercialised site - nice facilities Cleaning of our unit was poor this time and clumps of dog hair everywhere, used the Hoover and made the smell even worse We would come back again but hoping that we wouldn’t be allocated a pet unit again

Fantastic experience: Our second time staying at this park and would definitely book again. The site is small, very peaceful and not too busy which was just what we were looking for. Travelling as a couple, we were pleased with the bar, restaurant and other facilities, (pool tables, bowling alley, swimming pool and mini arcade). Areas were clean throughout and the grounds were well maintained and beautiful! The caravans were nicely spaced apart, had our own space for parking and felt as though we had enough privacy - the caravan we had was clean and had everything we needed. Staff were super lovely and very helpful too. Plenty to do offsite and short distances away - Newquay was about 15-20 minutes, a supermarket about 10 minutes and there was also a lovely garden centre in Quintrell Downs that had lovely food too. Only niggle was that the bed was a little on the hard side.

Negative experience: The site is great and very clean swimming pool and outdoor areas are great however, rented a Truro with hot tub just don’t do it 103 don’t get me wrong hot tub is great but a little jaded the beds clean and comfortable however zoom in on the photos we will never be coming back we are currently going through the complaints process I paid £1185 what a waste of money.

Positive experience: First time coming to this place. It was clean, friendly not bad for the price we paid. I've given it a 4 star as there is a few faults. 1. No entertainment 2. Oven take an hour to cook chips along with 1hour and a half for sausage rolls. Other than that we will come back again.

Positive experience: Stay there one Week in march. Very clean caravan with everything. Not much to do with a toddler . Soft play is too small . Pool is too small . Good price out of Peak time , however not worth the price during the holidays.

Positive experience: love the caravan with hot tub very nice and spaces the rest of the place was ok big disappointment of this park is, they advertise has a family resort and i think its far from 9am to 9.30 adutls swim only 16+ so my 2 year old and 14 year old cant do nothing until there next event only time i think my 2 year old could go for a swim wss pool party event from 5pm 5.30pm and i think thats only on twice a week they dnt do breakfast until 12pm not idea for a family with young kids newquay tho was amazing and a beautiful place

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved this place. I've been going to Cornwall every year since the day I was born. Usually to Holywell Bay Parkdean. But this is far far better. The actual location isn't as good as Holywell but everything else is better

Positive experience: Stayed last week Monday to Friday. Received a phone call on our way down that the van was ready to check in, nice gesture. On arrival we were offered wine, water, sweets for the boys and a VIP doggy pack containing dog treats and poo bags. The caravan we stayed in, St Austell was dated and could have done with a revamp. We had to alert reception that the van wasn't cleaned properly and a cleaner had to come out and give it another once over, not a great start. The van was well equipped with pretty much everything needed for our stay. The park itself was lovely and quiet, our two boys loved it especially the 3g football pitch, splash park, park and swimming pool. I'd imagine visiting in term time it would be a lot busier but we had it all pretty much to ourselves. There are several activities you can book, axe throwing, archery etc. Small shop onsite, we used white acres shop over the road as this is a nisa local with a wider range. The adults relaxation area was an fab added bonus, really enjoyed a relax in the sauna and steam room. Food and drinks were lovely and reasonably priced, we especially enjoyed the jacket potato on the lunchtime menu. Two small arcades, two Lane bowling alley and two pool tables all reasonable priced Overall, we all throughly enjoyed the park, the only downfall was our van and the cleanliness of it.

Fantastic experience: Really clean, lovely staff, one of the best parks I've ever stayed in! Pool and pool areas really clean, the vans themselves are really well equipped, and so cosy! We loved it so much, we booked again while there! Everything is there for you, lots of activities to book on site, and lots of places are in good driving distance. Fab place

Fantastic experience: This was a perfect destination for a break. 10 minutes from Newquay and a short drive to the likes of Looe, Bodmin, Penzance etc. The lodge was very clean and modern and the restaurant/bar area was ideal for a bite to eat and/or drink. Highly recommended

Positive experience: Stay at Piran Meadows for a week, our 3rd time staying here. Nice and peaceful site, we found it a great location to explore lots of Cornwall. They offer a range of activities through half-term for different ages at a very reasonable price. Our son loved them. The restaurant was nice, as was the food. Only negatives were the arcade areas, both didn't offer a great choice of entertainment and also one thing I noticed on arrival were overflowing bins both inside and out. Arrived Saturday and still overflowing on Sunday. Only a minor thing but it was our first impression.

Fantastic experience: Lovely caravan. Unfortunately the club house closes at 6, on a Sunday. So supply your own food after that. Park clean and tidy.

Negative experience: Caravan was nice, club house was pretty rubbish and half the machines did not work. Then the fact we was charged £17.20 for a Madri and G&T was a joke. Oh and cant even get an over priced drink on a Sunday after 5pm.

Positive experience: I really enjoyed this place unfortunately I will not return, booking to use the swimming pool while on a break is ridiculous, especially half hour slots, shutting bar early especially when you had customers, people hogging the pool tables, should put signs up, we wanted dinner there but we needed to book as they said it was busy there was no one eating, it's like the staff can't be bothered, i had conversations with guest and they agree with me, the site is nice but it's run more like a prison camp as some staff are a joke

Fantastic experience: The accommodation was huge. Everything was spotless. Loved the hot tub! The facilities were good and all open despite the fact we went 'out of season'.

Negative experience: Park is nice caravan spacious and well appart . . Please don't order food here it's nearly impossible to serve raw chips but they can ... unacceptable really for somewhere with such high standard. I eat from street vans to high end restaurants and I don't think in 30 years I had such under cooked stuff . And definitely would not recommend the restaurant

Fantastic experience: Actually we stayed in a Two bedroom static caravan I must say that if you aren't careful you can easily drive past the road you need to get to it, as you are driving down the main road to it there's a caran park called white cross caravan park and the road you need to take is right across from the entrance to this caravan park you will go under a railway tunnel then it's on your right as you drive down the access road take the left fork the right fork is the exit road and it's got electric barryers so you shouldn't go wrong remember Left is IN and Right is out. The reception is on the left as you drive down it's got a decent size car park to wait on while you go and book in as you go in you will see the reception on the left, on the right opposite is the sales office further in is the bar where you can get something to eat and drink along with a games romm with Two pool tables and Two small bowling alleys cost is £2-00 a person for One Game, and the pool is £ 1-oo per person and of course the slot machines as you pass through you will find the swimming pool and it's not a bad size with toys beach balls plus swimming aids they also have one of those large clear plastic balls you can get in and try to stand up in it, there are also about 6 paddle boats for the children, while either the plastic ball or paddle boats are out being used in the pool there are restrictions on going into the pool enquire at the reception about the restrictions, all the staff that we met were very pleasant and freindly. The caravan we were staying in was excellent spotlessly clean all the way through, we had a modern TV & dvd player all the cooking & eating utensils looked new there was also at the front of the caravan was a raised balcony that you got too through Two patio doors it had a table and Four chairs with a metal shelf that you could put a camping barbeque on it it was a really very nice caravan, with only Two faults that we had, the batteries for the dvd were completely flat and the radiator in the shower and toilet room was very hot, hot enough to burn and leave a mark with the slightest touch, Oh I almost forgot outside the bar is a play area and the Children must love it especially on a nice warm day unfortunately for us it hardly stopped raining with really strong gusts of wind, and the week we were there Two stormes decided to pass through but we did have a good holiday. .

Positive experience: Lovely camp site but limited entertainment. Also in the middle of no where with limited access. Clay shooting was enjoyable but one gun ran out of battery.

Fantastic experience: Stayed in a caravan (although much better than an ordinary caravan). Has a double bed in the main bedroom with a toilet as well as a television. There was another room with two single beds. Everything was in the van that you could possibly need. All cooking utensils, cutlery etc. There was another television in the main living space too. All very comfortable. Have stayed at this place a few times now and would not hesitate to recommend a stay here. The bistro on site serves tasty food if you don't feel like cooking. Look forward to staying again at some point in the future. This is a spa resort with use of various facilities, including a pool etc.

Positive experience: Lovely little getaway! The swimming pool and gym are well maintained and clean. Lodges are a little dated, but they are all right for a weekend away, and its not too far from the centre of Newquay.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the loveliest caravan sites I've stayed on. The landscaping is well maintained and is neat and tidy, the lighting around the site is just right, and the 'roads' of caravan areas are well lit. The actual caravans are positioned well down each road, so that when looking out of one of your windows, you're not looking straight into a neighbour's. The distance between each caravan is generous, so you don't feel like you're on top of each other. Every single caravan has a balcony, including a table and chairs as well as a barbecue area for disposable BBQ's. The majority of the caravans have car park spaces right next to them, but a few roads have their parking spaces in the middle of the road area, just because of the layout of that particular road. Even in these roads though, you're only metres away from your caravan so you'll never be walking far. There are multiple bin areas around the site for you to take any caravan rubbish to and were never far away. The staff in general seem very keen to keep the site tidy and clean for everyone, which is nice to see. St Austell 3 was my caravan and it was lovely (number 72). It was modern, fresh, spacious and very cosy. Everything was provided that you could think of (even an iron, which wasn't listed on the site). The beds are comfortable and everything was very clean and tidy throughout. Free wifi was provided in the caravans so that was a nice touch because the network signal on my phone was a bit hit and miss sometimes. The reception, bar, food and entertainment areas are also very nice and modern with a welcoming feel. The only area I can't really comment on is the pool because I did not use this (or even look at), but judging by all other areas of the site I'm sure this is just as nice as in the images they show. The bar and food area is a generous size with lots of seating inside (and more outside). There's a children's play area just in front of this, viewable to those seated, and just around the corner is the pool table and bowling lane. It's all a really nice area to chill in. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The site is well positioned in my opinion as it generally falls in the middle area of a lot of activities and attractions you would probably visit, so it always felt very easy travelling to and from. I only have a couple of criticisms for the actual caravan - 1. There were no plug sockets in the living room area at all from what I could see. The only one available was a single socket behind the TV on the wall, which the TV was plugged into. A speaker system for your iPhone etc. was surprisingly left in a drawer in the living room for us, but there wasn't anywhere to plug this in here. The only sockets nearby were behind the kettle and toaster in the kitchen area. I got around this by buying an extension lead one day, using the socket behind the TV and plugging into that, so it wasn't a big deal, but it just would have been handy to have some plugs available. I imagine in the hot Summer months a standing fan would be nice plugged in the living room somewhere, but is not currently possible. There is also no mirror in the living room area, which I find odd compared to previous caravans I've stayed in. Everyone generally wants 'one last quick look' before they leave, so it would have been handy to have one there. There are mirrors elsewhere in the caravan though, so again, no major issue. Lastly, there is no clubhouse on this site. You shouldn't think there is, because it's not mentioned anywhere when booking, but please don't assume there is one. I won't be taking off any stars for these comments though, because they're minor points, and in regard to the clubhouse, I was well aware there wouldn't be one when I booked and the site shouldn't be penalised for something they haven't physically got room for. I definitely recommend this caravan site. The site has an overall 'higher quality' feel to it compared to other sites, which is surprising considering the good prices for staying there. Definitely book up - you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic experience: A lovely break away with my girls! Very clean resort, great pool and activities for kids. Good selection of drinks at the bar too. One disappointing point for us was the standard of the food we ate on the first night. Burnt burgers for myself and my youngest daughter and my meal cost £6.00 more and the only thing extra I had than her was a small portion of coleslaw. My oldest daughter had gammon and it was also burnt and was the saltiest thing I’ve tasted. It’s such a shame as this was the only down side to our stay. If the food was improved then it would encourage more people to eat in the venue more often. Already looking to book for a stay next year.

Positive experience: The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The caravan was clean. The hot tub was very nice and checked everyday. The complex had a nice few games and a lovely swimming pool, but there was no entertainment. I felt very isolated and there was nothing nearby. The restaurant was not open Tuesday or Wednesday so we had to either go out or buy in. The food we did have was ok. As the weather was so bad I would have expected a bit of leeway as to the restaurant opening. The 'shop' was a few shelves so nothing much to choose from.

Positive experience: We hired 4 lodges well caravans , on arrival after a long journey and all arriving from different destinations, we all were made to feel frustrated and stressed due the welcome , he insisted we should have names next to the four reference numbers but unfortunately we only had the numbers as we booked from Hoseasons. We did all get accommodation, which was very clean and well equipped. The site is very clean and dog friendly . The restaurant looked OK, it was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. But again, public areas are clean and tidy . Unfortunately, we were unable to use the pool, sauna steam room, or gym because we had a dog, and they can not be left unattended in the vans. The activities advertised were an added cost ranging from 6.00 to 15.00 an activity . We would have liked to have taken part in some as a family. Artery would have been 150.00 an hour frankly, that's a joke The site itself is a 15 min drive from Newquay, but is well situated to visit local towns etc. There is nothing within walking distance. Positives Clean well equipped vans, well maintained site Peaceful. Dog friendly Negatives Hidden costs for activities which could be costly if you have a couple of children. Even though 30 or more people in the bar last orders called at 9.15pm If you have a dog and would like to go swimming have a sauna etc as a couple or family you won't be able to

Fantastic experience: Nice place to stay and an ideal base for exploring the area. Our Wadebridge caravan was clean, roomy and had everything we needed. We received a warm welcome and were given a welcome pack with tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. Our 2 dogs also received a welcome pack of poo bags and treats which was. unexpected. Although the pool was small we were able to have a good swim and the changing rooms are roomy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely think about returning.

Fantastic experience: Our accommodation, a St. Austell caravan, was absolutely stunning. It was not only spotlessly clean but also well-maintained, and it had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The caravan itself was surprisingly spacious, providing ample room for our family to move around freely. One particularly thoughtful detail that stood out was the welcome pack provided upon our arrival. It was a nice touch that added an extra layer of convenience to our stay. In fact, it came in quite handy when I realized I had forgotten to pack a sponge and washing up liquid. The well-stocked welcome pack ensured that we had all the essentials at our fingertips, making settling in a breeze.< Overall, the attention to detail and the level of comfort in our St. Austell caravan exceeded our expectations, making our stay at Piran Meadows even more enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: Lovely setting, just outside of Newquay town, lodges are beautiful and good size, enough beds to sleep 8 people, two bedrooms are en-suite , plus another bathroom/toilet, outside decking, bbq rack, jacuzzi, definitely visit again

Positive experience: A small caravan site with nice amenities. A small shop (shelves in reception and a fridge), a clean indoor pool - where you can take balls and noodles etc) and a splash pad and park outside. There was also things like archery which we didn't do. Newquay beach was about 25 min drive away. Great hols.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to stay. Very clean, staff are brilliant. Restaurant the food is fantastic. Not far from the A30 so you can travel anywhere. 10 mins you are in Newquay.

Positive experience: Nice place to stay. Good pool with the bonus of a steam room and sauna. A smaller holiday camp, but Darwin Escapes are always clean, tidy and have all amenities and good locations to go. Lovely spacious and modern caravans with the added extra of complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, towels, tea towel, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, bin bags. Was fully booked but you would not have realised. Would had given 5 Stars if this venue had evening entertainment and arcades. Still a lovely place to stay and quite central with many beaches within a 15 minute drive. Definitely recommend and would stay at Darwin Escapes venues in the future.

Positive experience: I have stayed here for a week, and from the other experiences I have had, this caravan was great! Large space, plush seats, nice accessibility and incredibly quiet. However, the beds are small and very close to walls, which are thin, so you can hear the people next door if you're staying with family (I was). The living area was great with access to Netflix and Disney+ and public WiFi. But there was a limited array of cups, glasses, and utensils. Overall, this was a good stay, and when we arrived there were some gifts and the person at the reception gave great service! If this was out of 10, it would have been an 8.5.

Positive experience: A very nice tidy place not too far from newquay and fairly quiet. I say fairly quiet as long as you are not next to the railway way line which seemed to have trains running past about every 45 mins to an hour mainly local branch line but occasionally faster louder longer ones. The resort has a shop stocking a few essentials, but to be honest on the five visits to the shop I made on only one visit was it open, and that was the day we checked in. The lodge we hired was a little tired and looked like the furniture had seen better days, as the vinyl was peeling off the cushions and the arms of the sofa, also the under sink cupboard smelt quite strong of sewage, as if it had a leak at some time and the sink did not drain as it should and sometimes took several minutes to drain away maybe these were connected. The linen was clean and the beds were comfortable the TV worked and all electrical items were safe and useable. Last but not least, the hot tub was checked every day but not topped up so when there were five of us in it was fine but if only one or two the jets were out of the water spraying water everywhere and you could get in and only get your trunks wet. A slight exaggeration,but you get my drift. I won't say it was a bad stay but it could have been better.

Positive experience: Great place, brilliant for kids. Lots to do. However, one of the fridge shelves was broken and had to rest on the stuff we put on the shelf below. A window was broken, and the French doors were hard to close. Bedrooms were a little dated. We arrived after 10 and phoned ahead to advise, we were told to come into the accomodation office where an envelope would be left telling us where our home was. It was all locked, and we had to call the night manager to come in. Eventually, we noticed a small sheet of paper with our booking reference and lodge number stuck inside the door. Also phoned about a week before to request a room have beds removed for the travel cots for our twin baby boys to be put in. Then the day of arrival I got a call from Someone asking why this was done, eventually they realised it was fine and starting saying that we were fine to move the beds... ourselves! Once I advised I was unhappy with the idea of arriving late with two babies to then have to move beds from one room to another when it is something they advertise as happy to do she advised they would be moved before we got there. However, everything else was great and we would still come again.

Fantastic experience: We've just spent a fabulous week staying in a Wadebridge 2 caravan as a couple with a 3 year old and a dog. The caravan is spotless and so spacious. Everything you could need and more. We were also pleasantly surprised by having 2 bathrooms and also a walk in wardrobe in the master bedroom. Loved having outside decking with a bbq stand (just need to bring a disposable bbq). Parking for 1 car directly outside but various extra parking spaces around the park if you have more than 1 car. There is a small onsite shop open 9-6 daily however it isn't always well stocked. We recommend ordering a food delivery for your arrival from asda Newquay for just £2.75 and they brought it right to our door. It's ideal for getting your shopping for the week without adding extra driving time on to your already long journey down. There is also a morrisons, petrol station and a small retail park 10 mins drive from the resort. There is a small Nisa local at the Parkdean resort across the road open to the public should you need essentials. The resort itself is fab. It is a quiet resort so if you wanted something loud and busy with lots going on then this isn't for you! (Luckily we prefer it quiet!) There is a small soft play, small arcade/games room, 2 bowling lanes and 2 pool tables inside. Also outside there's a play area, splash play area (weather dependent) plus football pitches. There is a GoActive program daily for children to take part in different activities but ours was too young for that so can't comment. The bar seating area spills out on to decking in-between the play area and splash area so ideal if you have kids. There is also a small gym, sauna, steam room and a good sized pool including a toddler pool. Half of the pool was often being used for private swimming lessons but it did not affect us at all as the pool is big enough for everyone. Our only small gripe is that the gym and pool only opens at 9am and if you wanted to squeeze in a early morning workout before heading out for the day, 9am is slightly late. Even 8am would be more reasonable. The bar is well stocked - albeit quite pricey at almost £14 for a pint of beer and a glass of wine - but nice all the same. We ate food here one night and there was a good varied menu. We had pizza which was really good. (One thing to note is that the pizza on the main menu is the same size as the pizza on the kids menu). We were disappointed that no food is served on Mondays or Tuesdays considering Monday is one of the main arrival days and we didn't feel like cooking after travelling 7 hours. Also the bar closes at 8pm on sundays and we stayed until last orders on this day and witnessed lots of people coming in for drinks and being turned away. Also food only until 6pm on Sunday and again we witnessed a lot of people planning to eat here and having to go elsewhere. The location was our main appeal to stay here and it did not disappoint. If you want to walk everywhere and have everything on your doorstep this isn't for you but if you're happy to travel around then everything is in close proximity and easy to get to. The resort is very well situated to travel around Cornwall as it is just minutes away from the A30 & A39 which are the 2 main road networks throughout Cornwall and just 15 mins drive into the centre of Newquay and its variety of beaches. Buses to Newquay and St Austell/Truro are available from the end of the road and there is also St Columb Road train station a couple minutes drive to go further afield. Newquay Airport is also closeby. During our weeks stay we visited Lost Gardens Of Heligan, Lappa Valley, Holywell Beach, Watergate Beach, Alpaca Trekking at Moorview Alpacas, Newquay Harbour, Towan Beach, Trenance Gardens - all of which are within half an hour drive (most are 15 mins really!) Everything apart from the Alpaca Trekking is dog friendly. Overall we would recommend Piran Meadows as a fabulous base for travelling around Cornwall. Very dog friendly and suitable for children. We would definitely return!

Fantastic experience: Great place, have visited twice now from Ireland, perfect place to stay if you want to have beautiful location for discovering Cornwall. We had car to travel about. Fantastic holidays and fabulous staff- they were so helpful and obliging.

Positive experience: Very quiet park. Small bar, restaurant. Not a lot for children to do ( do your homework before you come ). Good base for visiting various sites of interest. Once again do some homework as some places can be challenging if you have mobility issues. Accomodation very clean, staff friendly. On site prices for goods expensive. Try opposite Parkdean shop, prices can be cheaper. Overall our holiday was very enjoyable.

Positive experience: Lovely accomodation, but need repairs and updating. Scruffy furniture and ants in the bedroom and kitchen. Night security helped sort them. Out of the way for any activities have to drive everywhere. No good walks in the area, all lanes, nowhere to walk the dog.

Negative experience: Very noisey neighbours people behind our caravan with loud music / hoovering cars out at 10pm aswell as kids hitting balls against our caravan and car which had to be moved till 9pm while my 3 young children were trying to sleep called after hours reception they said they would come out didn't arrive out for nearly 35 mins by witch time it finally all stopped. The toilet door was a joke kept locking itself it locked my autistic 6 year old son in the toilet had to call maintenance out then to find the dishwasher also leaked so maintenance had to come out again!! Not very impressed.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time at Piran Meadows Resort and couldn't recommend it enough. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I have a severe nut and egg allergy and was wary about eating in the restaurant but they were amazing, going out their way to ensure I could have what I wanted and knew it would be prepared separately. The facilities were brilliant, the kids loved the indoor heated pool. The lifeguard provided the girls with toys too. The staff also went out of their way to provide towels for swimming as ours were drying back at the lodge. I had pre booked a travel cot which was waiting for us on arrival. The outdoor splash area and soft play were brilliant. Although the park could have done with some more younger child friendly equipment. Our accomodation was excellent and the hot tub worth every penny. The peaceful surroundings of picturesque country side was the perfect escape. We went to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and it was perfect. We will definitely be booking again.

Positive experience: I am a local and hold a membership for the resort. It caters for my daily swims, and allows me to take my grand children to the children's activities that they love. Being a smaller family resort it's rarely crowded, staff get to know you very friendly and great with the children. We enjoy having lunch and weekend lunchtime beer and a wine. Only 5 mins from home it's ideal fir holiday makers and locals alike.

Negative experience: It was crowded, and felt dirty. I used the pool there was dirty nappies in the changing room, and a dirty towel on the floor in the only changing room we could get. The showers when we got put where very hairy, hairbands, and soap everywhere. Was grim.

Fantastic experience: They go the extra mile, we had a fantastic holiday ideal for young families or those wanting a quiet holiday, not much for teens on site but plenty of things in the area and a regular bus service into Newquay town.

Positive experience: We've stayed here 3 times and after this experience likely won't be back. The check-in and service was as it usually is, but I was disappointed to find that the massage room has gone (no loss to us) and been turned into a lights and noise arcade/games area (one of the things we actively avoid in places we stay at). It's changed the atmosphere of the reception area :( The van was OK, but not at all to the standard of previous visits. It's felt well maintained and new each of the previous occasions but this van had barely been cleaned (dried blood drops on bathroom wall, mould and cobwebs in the kitchen/dinner bit and lots of tissues and stuff in the sofa cushions making it fairly unpleasant to open out the sofa bed). There wasn't enough bedding for 5 beds let alone the upto 8 bedspaces of the van. Having both twins and the double have enough bedding/made up would have been a minimum expectation. And the verandah and patio furniture was very dirty with bird droppings and mildew leaving the area more or less unusable. Site though, still very well maintained and facilities we'd previously been used to appeared all good. Site would still benefit from an off-lead dog exercise area for later afternoon/evening wind down walk/wee as it's not a big site to get enough doggy stimulation from a walk around.

Positive experience: Had a fantastic week at pirren meadows , great location has everything you could need within a 10 minute drive , the staff were so wonderful and accommodating, really made an effort to make you feel welcome. The food was fantastic, delicious and reasonably priced for a holiday park. The swimming pool was such a nice treat and really impressed with the relaxation room! Such a lovely touch for adults to enjoy. We booked a dog friendly caravan with a hot tub and I highly recommend! They check hot tub every few days to ensure the levels are safe and to top water up if needed which is great and the caravans are nice and spacious ! The only 2 negatives I would say is that our caravan could have been cleaner. I appreciated the facts its dog friendly and over time things can become worn and harder to keep pristine however there was alot of signs of the previous dog (Definitely a golden retriever) in and around the caravan. However I appreciate the meaning of clean is different to different people. And the second negative is our TVs hdmi was broken so we was unable to watch and films or connect to our Netflix etc which resulted to a few nights of rubbish TV, this won't bother most people however as a family we all work so much we very seldom manage to watch tv so is a nice treat on holiday. However the positives massively outweigh the negatives we also had ample parking for our car plus two guests which was really helpful and as I previously stated the staff could not have been any more accommodating professional and polite it was an absolute pleasure to stay here and we'll definitely be staying again, highly recommend!!!

Positive experience: We arrived at Piran Meadows and were greeted by an awful smell in the caravan an extremely stained carpet which looked like urine and dirty stained chair. Didn’t take much to find very dried dog mess. We immediately reported this and in all honesty feel we should have been instantly moved to another caravan but the manager Paul was insistent that it was cleaned. In all fairness the carpet was cleaned and cushion cover removed. But this should not have been like this to begin with. It was very clear that the caravan had not been cleaned and closed up for a period of time. We then had to clean both showers as they were slippery, slimy and smelt, bathroom door lock was broken, damp in corner of bedroom, extremely uncomfortable furniture. Dirty kitchen and coffee table, missing crockery and glasses and microwave was missing. Although reception dealt promptly with some matters raised we could not help but feel extremely disappointed and let down. We have stayed here several times before and never had reason to complain and always rated highly the standards and cleanliness of caravans but this time we noticed a huge difference. The manager informed us that he would phone us with an outcome but sadly we got the impression he was telling us what we wanted to hear. We have been back several days and I’ve emailed again and still not heard anything, extremely disappointing. Usually I’m quite sad to leave Piran Meadows as always loved our stays but this time I wanted to get home. A huge disappointment. Thank you to reception staff who did suggest moving us to another caravan and tried to do what you could.

Positive experience: Went here for a weeks holiday and had a really good time. Caravans were modern and clean and the site had plenty of amenities. PROs WiFi was really fast Staff were friendly Games room was good Views were lovely. CONs The Swimming seemed a little confusing - we were told to just go in whenever we wanted (activities aside) but whenever we went there was always a band system in place.

Fantastic experience: Wife and myself with our dog loved our stay. Staff very friendly and only pool and small section of the bar where dogs are prohibited. Central location for Newquay, Bude and other local beaches. Highly recommended

Positive experience: Just got home from our week stay at Piran Meadows. The caravan we stopped in was spotless and was absolutely amazing for the price we paid. The whole caravan site and amenities were great too. Just a shame that we didn’t really get to use the bar, pool and activities for more than 1 day as our little boy contracted chicken pox and gastroenteritis. Would love to go back one day!

Positive experience: We have stayed on this resort 3 times now and the last was notably different. The lack of cleanliness of the caravan was apparent as soon as we walked in. There was a smell and things were grubby. As we arrived in the evening, the following day I bought cleaning products to get rid of the smell. I found loads of dirt and mess under the sofas. From dust to toys, a sock, vaping liquid and mouldy food. There were greasy little handprints on the dining chairs. The washer had what looked like bits of food inside of it and there was dust on fittings. The outside of many caravans were mouldy and the one we stayed in needed a deep clean inside. Considering we have had several years of COVID and it is still with us, cleaning had not been maintained. The shower worked but the attachment that holds it in place was broken and would not stay in place so had to hold it. There was a urine smell in the pool change rooms and broken fittings in the showers. The staff did clean though and seemed to manage to get rid of the smell. The activities staff were friendly and engaging with the children, so they enjoyed the different activities, it was a shame they were charged for in addition to the holiday instead of as a part of it. And with the with pool, in busy times we were limited to how long we could stay in for as anyone (not just people staying on the site) could use the pool, so it did get busy. Not sure we will be back, as cleanliness was just so poor and not what I want to be greeted with when I arrive on holiday.

Fantastic experience: Today we went for pool party and then lunch for my sons birthday. when asked about our table the reservation hadn’t been put in the diary! But wasn’t a problem they set us up a table on the owners lounge, the food was fantastic!! Well worth the money! The staff were so helpful and always at hand! Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic experience: An ideal place to relax or to explore Cornwall, within reach of all the touristy bits but just remote enough to chill out with birds singing and the sun shining... not bad for late February. Dogs are welcome too. Just tried the Sunday roast... excellent quality and very good value for money

Fantastic experience: Nice spot with a good pool, restaurant and activities for family. Staff are very accommodating. Small soft play just off the bar area. Small astro football pitch, children’s play area and outdoor splash zone. A nice family holiday spot to complement a beach holiday.

Negative experience: Stayed here for a weekend. I was kind of disappointed with this place, if it wasn't for the lovely reception staff I would have given 1 star mainly due to the state of the caravan we were given. WiFi is also great and free. We booked a Padstow elegance which isn't the lowest grade probably 5 from the bottom. The caravan vans look Great from the outside, but it's whats on the inside that counts. On arrive it stank like damp or dogs or both. Reception did send house cleaning down to spray some airfreshner. The carpets are filthy that bad they turn your socks black, you can see if the photos under the chair how clean it should be, the carpet is also fraying. Sofa was also filthy The hall lights just constantly flash when you turn them on so good job not epileptic. Decking was all green and covered in cigarette burns, same as the patio furniture. Dining table looks like it's been eaten at the legs by a dog. All the cutlery was stain and covered in previous guests food. All in all the decking would take 10 minuets to jet wash if that, carpets probably an hour. Sweet wrappers behind the sofa. Looks like we were allocated a pet friendly accommodation even though we didn't have a pet. The park is rather quiet so surely there must have been non pet accommodation available. Wouldn't return based on the cleanliness of the caravans. Big shout out to the reception staff again.

Fantastic experience: A truly lovely resort with amazing staff and really good quality lodges. Lots of on site activities for all ages, lodges with hot tubs and reasonable sized accommodation. Will definitely be returning again!!
