FitFor: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Fit for is an excellent Gym and provides great Physio. I had a nasty shoulder injury that kept lingering for a while. For physio, I highly recommend Ruben who has been a god send with my shoulder. For PT I recommend Trevor. I also went to his Ride class which I did for the first time today. I would give in total a 10/10. The staff are all very much makes Fit For a great gym. I was never much a gym person before going to fit for.
Hi Alexander, Thank you so much for your kind review, we are so glad you have been enjoying your experience here at FitFor - FitFor Team
Fantastic experience: Mr shoelace says very good
Negative experience: Closing times over the weekend Friday 7pm Saturday 4pm Sunday 2pm
Fantastic experience: An amazing workout of a massage session with Sonia. I will feel it tomorrow and I needed it!
Positive experience: Gym is set up for the ladies than men. Machines need to be updated. Especially to work the ham string and calf’s. Very clean gym, great staff and trainers, happy place with a nice vibe and members.
Fantastic experience: After a few months seeking urgent physio with saveri , I'm totally satisfied with the results and excelled my expectations and a Ballance of relief. Also the deep tissue massage by Sonia has to be one of the best I've ever had in my life which literally knocked me out for the weekend and still an aftershock into Monday AMAZING
Negative experience: I saw elizabeth sharp. I felt fat shamed!! I know I am overweight and this is impacting on my health.... However I paid £88 to be continually told this. I couldn't wait to get out of the room!!! Sure it's great for less obese people. Hurtful and I felt totally depressed and despondent when I left
Hi Sarah, We're really sorry to read your feedback. Sometimes Libby can be very direct but her aim is always to reach the best outome for each client and if that involves addressing sesnitive issues that are impacting on a client's health then she will always address them. We are truly sorry that you felt this went too far. With very best wishes, FitFor
Fantastic experience: I’ve never been a fan of gyms and am not someone who likes exercise. I’ve been a member for two months now and I find myself excited to visit. The staff are really knowledgable, super friendly and helpful. The classes are 30/45 mins which makes them easy to fit in and also not too exhausting for someone who hasnt done much exercise. It’s small but has all the equipment you’d want. It’s also super clean. Everyone bar none smiles which makes a massive difference when you are nervous or a bit apprehensive - I think the best thing without doubt is the feeling of being supported all the way by such a lovely bunch people who are super good at their job. I love it.
So delighted to hear you're feeling well looked after Natalia. We aim to provide a really warm and supportive environment and a helping hand for whatever stage you are on your fitness journey. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback.
Negative experience: Saw Elizabeth for a back injury. Both sessions started late and were very short. Her “bedside manner” left a lot to be desired and I left the sessions feeling worse than when I went in.
Fantastic experience: I had 6-7 sessions with Cassie, one of the physios, after I trapped a nerve quite seriously in my lower back and she had me sorted in no time. Can’t rate her highly enough or indeed the wider team and facilities. Can’t speak for the gym, but the physio is really reasonably priced and great quality
Fantastic experience: Superb environment, outstanding Pilates classes and excellent E-gym equipment. Congratulations on FitFor!
Fantastic experience: Recently joined ESPH and I love it already. My instructor really takes the time to explain everything properly (not just the equipment, but the benefits and how the body works). Really friendly staff, great to have natural light and fresh air coming in as you work out. Plus the equipment is by far the most sophisticated that i've ever used - really impressed!
Fantastic experience: I've seen several physios at ESPH over the years and they've all been excellent, quickly understanding my issue and then providing highly effective treatment. The clinic is welcoming with a very professional, friendly team. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: Great classes! Huge variety and the classes leave you knowing you’ve worked hard. I love barre with Jasmine, would really recommend it!
Fantastic experience: Great selection of classes both online and physically. They seem to be really going above and beyond during COVID19 to keep us engaged and focused. Excellent competitions and opportunities on social media too!
Fantastic experience: Since my organisation started offering FITFOR during the pandemic, I have used it regularly. It's fantastic to be able to do online workouts to fit around your schedule and the additional resources have been welcome, particularly the injury programme for a niggling shoulder/neck problem. It's a great benefit which has really made a difference to me during lockdown!
Fantastic experience: I started using FitFor during lockdown and use it nearly every day - I love ❤️ the variety of classes, Meditation to HIIT to Pilates to Spin. It’s a really economical way of staying fit, and looking after my physical health and my well-being. My organisation has now joined up and FitFor’s corporate offer is fantastic too - my team can workout together and there is lots of advice on working from home, self help physio and nutrition. I’d definitely recommend trying FitFor out ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fantastic experience: 2 weeks ago in the midst of Lockdown I was unable to walk, sit, lie or do anything due to a spasm across my back. Through desperation I called and requested a virtual physio appointment and after 3 of the virtual sessions I'm pretty much in full recovery with a clear stretching plan to continue with. What a fantastic way to be able to help your clients. Thank you ESPH!
Fantastic experience: Community gym very calm atmosphere good selection of yoga styles to choose from gym equipment looks functional and massage and physio available also freindly staff.
Fantastic experience: I love the gym. The only thing I don't like is how cold it is upstairs. I also think there should be at least one dancing class in the list. Something like "Zumba" for example.
Fantastic experience: Very good gym, amazing machines, nice trainers and nice atmosphere. Good chaining rooms and showers.
Fantastic experience: I'm not a gym person, but ESPH makes it so easy to incorporate keeping fit into my life - the app is great, the equipment is super-high-tech yet foolproof, the classes are great, the people are friendly, the place is clean and pleasant and never too busy. I'm a complete convert, and I'm really grateful they're on my doorstep :-)
Fantastic experience: The care and compassion of this company is second to none. Friendly faces, expert knowledge and genuine care has given me the skills to care for my back and know hopefully how to avoid any injury happening again. They help you to understand your body and be aware of physical triggers. I can't rate everyone there high enough. They deserve more than 5 stars, and would recommend to anybody wanting to heal and care for their physical well-being. I have never been pushed to have more treatment - and it felt like every member of staff new my injury and could advise at any point - even when just visiting the gym. Better than excellent!
Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience, my physio Luke Hogan located the source of my problem swiftly, something that other services had missed completely. Only been once so it remains to be seen if I can avoid this injury happening again, and get back to playing football regularly, but very happy with progress thus far.
Fantastic experience: Simply professional and clear. I was suggested by a friend to go there for my shoulder problem and I really feel better. I recommend it better than going through NHS palaver...
Fantastic experience: My daughter saw Paul for a sprained ankle. He was excellent - took time to evaluate and assess, and gave very useful advice. Had a warm and friendly manner. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic 1st class facility . Top rehab equipment and staff
Fantastic experience: I am a self-employed performer and I currently work in an extremely physical show. After a recurring injury to my shoulder I saw James Close. He was absolutely fantastic. He had me back to work quickly, which is imperative for someone who is self-employed. His approach was relaxing and I could feel improvement after every session. Also the exercises he gave me were great, leading to the shortest recovery time I've had to date. They have also helped prevent the injury from flaring up again.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant service and a lovely team! My injury healed much faster than I expected it to and I will definitely return in the future if I am to suffer another injury
Fantastic experience: Great physio team. I have been seeing Claire and she has been awesome in helping me with an acute back problem.
Positive experience: Well, I have been attending ESPH for half a year. What can I say? Some classes are good, for example yoga with Laura and Lina, TRX with Rodrigo etc. However when I joined in August it was possible to book a class 1 day in advance. Now it is not possible what irritates a lot. Sometimes you can't book ANY class even 4 days in advance. Some classes are fully pre-booked 2 weeks in advance and you have no chance to visit it. So ESPH seems to be overcrowded as all classes are fully booked all the time. The room where yoga and dance classes are needs to be repaired- the walls are with wet spots , air conditioners don't work what made our Caribbean dance lessons very hard to bear. The upper floor gym is quite cold and you need to wear extra sweater to be ok. But what is one of the most important reasons why I leave ESPH is that incredible boring. All lessons are the same over and over again. All the exercises are the same week by week. After 2 month you know the timetable by heart and have no motivation to go there- everything is so slow, basic, same. That is my personal perspective. Positive things- free towels, special pilates equipment, clean, good admins.
Fantastic experience: I was very impressed. Tom was very professional but easy to talk to. He appeared to be very knowledgeable and I have every confidence in his ongoing advice and treatment.
Fantastic experience: Great physio team & facilities. I have been seeing James Close for a minor back issue that has been troubling me for some months. James is very professional, experienced and friendly. I feel reassured and confident that I'll be back on track in no time.
Positive experience: I went to ESPH regarding tension I was having in my neck and shoulders. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because my physio did not entirely resolve my problem. I was given quite a lot of massage which didn't seem to have many long term benefits and used a lot of time up in the session. Also, having seen another physio I've learnt that some of the information I was given was incorrect such as a strong core helps with relieving neck and shoulder tension, which has no scientific evidence to back it up. This physio was especially expensive and I would of liked to of been given more information in the sessions with reference to a diagram. I would of liked to of spoken more about stress and anxiety and how to respond to the physiological symptom as I am now aware that some vicious cycles can start when one worries about the symptom. Also, my ESPH physio did not tell me that touching the muscle made it worse and simply explained why I was doing it. I now refrain from touching it and it feels better! I would of liked to of been offered acupuncture as it helped hugely but was not. I was pleased with the letter of referral my physio gave to me as it was beneficial for the following physiotherapist I saw. I though the 3 months inclusive gym membership was very reasonable.
Negative experience: Not very impressed by my first sessions-- they all started way after my appointment time and were cut short. A lot of room for improvement!!
Fantastic experience: Earlier in September I was in London for a short break. I arrived with sciatica and in two sessions arranged at short notice with ESPH, I was helped with physio and given useful advice about exercises to strengthen muscles to control the pressure on the nerve. A friendly and helpful service, thank you. William September 27 2016
Fantastic experience: Went a couple of months ago because of chronic back pain (on and off for about 10 years). Really happy with Max - he explains things very patiently, tries out different exercises, talks through any questions I might have. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Over the last 3 years I have used the Physio Services at ESPH for myself and also for my employees and would highly recommend. The team are very professional, knowledgeable and supportive, and so worth the financial investment. (for those who don't have private medical insurance) A big thank you to Maxence who has been working with me over the last 6 weeks in my recovery from a fractured foot. I am so happy to be walking normally and relatively pain free and most importantly able to go on my holiday without the need of a walking stick.
Fantastic experience: A premium price for premium care, I went to multiple physio's in the past who didn't find the root of the injury so I came back to play football to Ealry injured myself again twice. Esph diagnosed my injury and the root of it in the first session, with deep tissue sport massage from Anthony and rehabilitation by Sophie I'm making great progress and should be playing football in January. Thanks Sophie and Anthony.
Fantastic experience: The physios at ESPH are highly experienced and very thorough. I have taken my teenage son and daughter there for various rugby and running related sports injuries. Each time they have accurately diagnosed the injury at the first session, with treatment that was immediately beneficial, and follow-up advice that led to a complete recovery. They won't book you in for more sessions than you need and they will refer you on to specialist consultants where appropriate. Reassuring to know you are in the safe hands of experts you can really trust. The reception staff are friendly and efficient, too. Great professional service ESPH. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I've been going to ESPH for about 5 years now and I'm still amazed by how well run it is. I use the gym about four times a week and the physio and Pilates services. Leading up to and after my knee surgery I used the physios at ESPH and they are just fantastic. Their expert advice really makes you makes you feel comfortable re-conditioning yourself back to shape. **THIS IS NOT A GYM FOR 'BROS'** - seriously, if you're into grunting, screaming and three hour 'super sessions' stay away and don't ruin it for the rest of us. Aside from the training staff, the office staff are also extremely efficient and always give great service. They know you by name and are more than happy to help you out at any time. The only cons are that they don't have any barbells at the moment however plans are underway to change this. The changing rooms and showers are worth therm worship price alone and there are always clean towels free for you to use. The Pilates studio looks like some kind of medieval torture chamber but it's quite safe and fantastic to use. The instructors are all very knowledgable and eager to help you workout in a safe and efficient manner. This is a fantastic gym that just lets you get on and do your workout without sweaty screaming blokes hogging the weights and machines while they push out another hernia.
Fantastic experience: I've used a wide range of ESPH's services over the years, everything from physio to massages to fix a back problem to the gym and the 1-on-1 pilates sessions. Without exception, the overall service is first class. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and most importantly what they do has worked for me. State of the art gym and pilates machines help enormously in avoiding injury and making the work out sessions more enjoyable. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: After months or hard training and a successful half marathon I decided to treat myself with a sports massage. The massage I received at Esph was incredible, just what my aching muscles needed! The masseuse asked about my sporting history and after the massage recommended areas of tension to work on. The environment was professional and friendly and I will definitely return again
Fantastic experience: I became a member of ESPH in January 2011 for the purpose of losing weight and improving my overall levels of fitness and health. I have been very impressed with the care, commitment and friendly nature of all the staff. The instructors are very knowledgeable and highly skilled about all health, fitness and exercising matters. The ESPH facilities are well maintained, clean and provide an extensive range of equipment and spaces to exercise. The range and variety of classes available are very impressive which allows you pick the best approach you wish to take to maintain your commitment to visiting the gym, the class I enjoy the most is 'box fit' . The induction session is very detailed and is used to establish your personalised programme to support the best use of the gym and variety of classes. I am well on the way of achieving my weight loss and fitness targets and would be happy to recommend ESPH to friends, family and work colleagues.
Fantastic experience: My Secret to Feeling Fit & Fabulous at 40 something! 12 months ago when I became one of the participants in ESPH’s Exercise, Health & Wellbeing study run in conjunction with the UK Active Research institute & Greenwich University it was all about losing weight. Here I am a year down the line, feeling truly FIT & FABULOUS and yes, about 2 stone lighter…. BUT (and I know Alexei will be proud to hear me say this), the past year has been about so much more than just weight loss. Much as I hate to admit it, I am middle aged. It has crept up on me when I wasn’t looking; it seems like yesterday that I was rocking my 20’s, now suddenly I find myself looking down the barrel of my 45th birthday. The thing about middle age is that out of the blue your body starts to behave differently, muscles that used to stay toned as if by magic start to relax, you get back ache when you spend too long on your feet, your knees ache when you go up hill. As for running…. (especially after childbirth). Ha! Don’t even go there. BUT, much as I hate to sound evangelical about this, it IS possible to turn the clocks back without resorting to surgery or the latest fad diet, you just have to get off your butt and start exercising! 1.5 hours in the gym 3 times a week has, quite literally changed my life. I am leaner, fitter, stronger and happier in both mind and body. I’m the one dragging my kids off to the park and wanting to play ball with them (previously unheard of). I’m the one telling my friends we need to go out dancing like we used to do in our 20’s. I am quite honestly astounded by how much more energy I have got these days, and by the amount of muscle tone I have been able to establish. The great thing about this is that the better your muscle tone, the better your posture, the better your body supports itself and the less aches and pains you get! So where to go from here? Well I have reached my target weight and I’m now in size 10 trousers (I was delighted to be down to a size 12 six months ago, so frankly I’m almost speechless to be a size 10). I have – of course – joined ESPH as a member and my goal from here is to really focus on specific muscle groups and core strength, and to make sure I keep on setting myself new challenges so I don’t get lazy. When I filled in the membership form there was a box that said ‘duration of membership’ and I wrote ‘forever’ because I really can’t imagine anything worse than stopping. Being fit is a way of life for me now and I don’t ever want to get fat, lazy, or old again (I know for sure I can achieve at least 2 of the 3)!!! Amanda Dilnot, FIA Study Participant and ESPH Member since 2013
Fantastic experience: My attitude to exercise and gyms changed with working with ESPH. I expected it to be unfriendly and just hard work, but they mentor you. It feels like you join a family watching out for you and supporting you every step of the way. I am proud of what I have achieved so far. I have managed to lose 5 stone with gradual, regular exercise and a change of attitude to food. I feel I have more energy for day to day life. I will always exercise now as I can see the benefits in the shape of my body and my mind.
Positive experience: “I am bit of a fitness fanatic and over the years have experienced many different types of exercise. From the early years of gymnastics, to the college years of dance, to the late twenties boxing, I then turned 30 and felt I needed something different. I wanted to find a place that I could that do a mixture of classes and gym work, but also focus on using my body in the right way. Being a local to the area, ESPH in Dulwich was absolutely the right place. It’s a great space, without the competitive and pretentious feeling that many other gyms carry. The class instructors are excellent, sessions are well planned and all body types and injuries are catered for. The instructors motivate throughout helping you to focus. Sandra, Caroline and Tasha are brilliant. In addition the physio facilities and physiotherapists are great. After a couple of injuries they have not only treated me, but given me preventative advice for the future” Cat Agostinho, member since 2011
