Negative experience: My first and last visit to this gym, way below standards: outdated equipment, no hot water or pressure in the showers, broken changing room latch, broken parking machine. An extra star only for the staff there who were trying to do their best with what they have.

Fantastic experience: First time at this pure gym (been around a number of them). Awesome service from the manager Neal when my code wouldn't work. Parking facilities are great with 2 hours free (register the car once inside the gym). Can't ask for much more!

Positive experience: Hi Pure Gym. Gym itself is generally clean, staff are all really nice from the interactions I've had, equipment is decent, I've never felt uncomfortable as a female in the gym. The changing rooms are the worst bit, the sink has a horrible smell. However for the money I think it's great value and I guess you get what you pay for!

Positive experience: Initially I was nervous because I hadn't been to a gym for over 20 years and thought I'd look out of place but after some PT sessions with Shane, who has helped me feel like I'm 30 again and making a few gym buddies, I feel like I attend a club each time rather than it feeling like a chore. Also big shout out to Gemma for always walking around with a cloth and constantly tidying up! Best thing I done this year was to sign up to Pure Gym!!

Negative experience: I am a client in Rushden PureGym I visited recently Hemel and was a tragic experience Very dark gym, old machines, no proper maintenance and a terrifying smell. The ventilation clearly doesn’t work. These reviews are clearly not updated because the gym is not good

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Positive experience: Good gym just no one puts weights back very annoying

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. It’s great to hear you enjoy using the gym overall! Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting. Using the machine after he’s sweaty body and smell the sweat… Within 2 weeks this is the second time having this experience from 2 different person. Their membership should be canceled if they cant follow the rules. The management have to do something about this because this is unacceptable. Pure gym is more like Poor gym….

Fantastic experience: Recently started Gemma's combat class. I absolutely love it. Very energetic and I feel like I get a great work out. It took me a few classes to get the hang of the moves but the class is so lovely that at no point did I feel silly flailing about in the wrong direction half the time. I also needed help before hand with some equipment and ask the manager Neil or Nick .. he was really kind and helped me so much. Very friendly gym

Positive experience: The gym itself is as good as it gets for this price range. A good selection of equipment, broken machines get fixed relatively quickly, it’s cool enough in the hot weather and warm enough in the cold. As I’m sure the staff will quietly agree, other members can be an issue. There is a large amount of both kids and adults who never ever put weights away or wipe down kit leaving it sweaty and gross, who congregate and seem to do anything but work out and who will hog machines for ridiculous amounts of time. I personally find it impossible to have a decent workout at peak times. I feel for the staff who must waste lot of their time shifting and tidying plates and dumbbells but appreciate what they do!

Positive experience: Positives: Good space, lots of lifting platforms. Mostly good machines. Good team. Has a sled track. Has kettlebells that go up to 24kg. Negatives: Prone hamstring curl machine is poorly designed does not have a seated calf machine (does have a Smith machine) Does not have multiples of the commonly used leg machines This is super picky and not a massive problem but also does not have a hip thruster machine - a massive positive that offsets this mostly is that bar pads for this exercise are made available in the kit box near Central lifting platforms. Conclusion - good gym, not overpopulated, gym manager is a good guy very helpful

Fantastic experience: Having being a member for 2 years it would feel necessary to write a review. This is a great gym, the staff are extremely friendly. There is a wide range of equipment with numerous cleaning stations and is very spacious so you always feel like you have room to work out. Changing rooms and showering facilities are generally very clean (Up to a certain time). You also get 2 hours free parking. There are only a few things I dislike, some things can be changed and some are outside of the gyms control which I completely understand; There are, in my opinion, far more treadmills than needed. There is only 1 Lat pulldown and seated cable row machine which always has high demand throughout the day. 2 leg press machines (1 angled) which is certainly good for a start but would really help to have more given the high demand for these machines too. As sadly with a lot lf commercial gyms there are always groups of 15/16 year olds crowding around the machines, constantly on their phones at peak times with little regard for others who would like to use the equipment too. In addition, the majority of them ego lifting with improper form, not understanding the risk of injury it poses. They also leave the changing rooms in a state, with food and sweet packets everywhere for the staff to clean up. There are some teenagers who do genuinely respect the cleanliness of the gym and the time of others so props to them. Overall I would highly recommend this gym for anyone, be it a new person or experienced. Though I would certainly say come before 4pm or after 20:30pm as then the gym is less crowded and equipment is more available.

Fantastic experience: BEST GYM IN HEMEL BY FAR. I’m a new member and I’ve had nothing but help by the staff. I’ve started PT sessions with Shane Hurley and he has be wonderful! I can see myself being a member here for a long long time. #TeamFlexxr

Fantastic experience: Good gym and very spacious which is why I been here for 2 yrs(I don't usually stay at a gym for more than 6months) gets busiest between 6-8pm, like most gyms but still pretty good in terms of space. Staff are very friendly and approachable as well as members. 5*gym, no complaints

Positive experience: New member and so far I am enjoying this gym. Plenty of equipment, all new and clean, it basically has everything you could need. Why 4* not 5*? The free weight section is a mess, every time I want a new weight dumbbell you need to search for it. 20kg in the 12kg slots, 8kg hidden over between the 45kg dumbbells.... If this isn't an issue then it's a great gym

Negative experience: Be aware, no hot water in showers for an indefinite period. No signage in gym to warn you of this before your workout. That review was left in January 2022. Just visited again in November 2022 and there's still no hot water or signage to warn you!

Positive experience: Standard Pure Gym equipment, lots of cardio, some lifestyle machines and a few benches. Can get very busy.
Fantastic experience: Clean, tidy and always space. Given it a 5 even though it can be hard to get a member of staff during office hours, and the parking validation machine sometimes throws up issues.

Positive experience: Great gym, everything you would need. Let down by staff not being strict enough on cleaning standards and face masks of other members. Big groups of kids and people blatantly not cleaning equipment after use despite the hundreds of reminders all over the gym. Could do with some reinforcement from staff

Fantastic experience: Clean, friendly gym.
Fantastic experience: Great little gym this. Been a member for around a week and I’ve noticed in my four visits how tidy and clean it is which is great. People seem friendly and they have all the machines you could possibly need for your workout. Took me a while to find some of mine after reading my training plan but I’m getting there. They’ve got vending machines inside that have energy drinks, protein shakes, water, protein bars, locks for your locker and various other bits. They’ve also got a flavoured water machine but it’s only for certain memberships. Proud to say this is my new local for fitness!

Fantastic experience: I’ve only recently joined, but so far I’ve been really happy with this gym. Staff are friendly and helpful, the gym is well laid out with plenty of space to maintain social distancing, there’s clearly a very high level of hygiene (from both staff and members), and they have a great selection of classes and personal trainers. Toilets and changing rooms are clean and there are plenty of lockers. I’m really looking forward to continuing my ongoing fitness journey here! I go in the early mornings and find the gym pleasantly quiet. There’s a very welcoming atmosphere and I like the fact that there’s always a mixture of people of all ages and sizes, so that anyone, regardless of their fitness level, can feel comfortable and confident.

Positive experience: Bit small but a nice clean gym with decent members who respect the gym and actually return their weights unlike some of the pure gyms I have visited in the past. Also as it is in the shopping centre pure gym members should be able to park their car for free but I believe one cannot do that, otherwise happy with my visit to this gym and will visit again

The busyness does fluctuate throughout the day, and from day-to-day. We have implemented a section to the website and the app which informs our members how many people are in the gym at that time and a graph to show the previous busyness of the gym on certain dates for comparison which we have found has really helped our members plan their workouts!
