Fantastic experience: The gym here is really well suited to me, I’m no gym buddy type and the members and staff here are all really nice, non judgemental folks! The gym, swimming and spa facilities are perfectly maintained and everyone is really cool .. love the place

Positive experience: Good quality equipment, just not a lot of it, it's a very small place which could do with expanding. The whole building was very clean, with a quality sauna and steam room, however it can be like sardines at times. If anyone was to visit please ask for the least busy times or you will get frustrated. Not the point of a spa.

Positive experience: Friendly staff and good value. The sauna is nice and hot. The spa area is clean. The changing room area is OK and there are plenty of changing rooms and lockers and showers. ( you need a £1 coin for the lockers and take a towel too). The changing room floors are always wet and lots of surface water ( as you'd expect ), there are some mops to use although I never saw any staff using them as they walked through the area , I did use them a couple of times when my Mum was going from spa to changing room. We used the pool and sauna , steam room and jacuzzi 3 days and I never felt restricted in the pool. I always managed to get my lengths in ( reading other posts about the pool didn't expect to have as much room as I did .)

Fantastic experience: When l flooded my car down the road after the storm this business helped me out. They offered me hot drinks,somewhere to dry my clothes and as there was no phone signal in the area they let me use their phones to make calls to recover the car, friend's,ect ect. I was not a paying guest or member but the lodge should not do enough to help me in my time of need,to all the staff that day l thank you all and you all are a credit to your company and and helping out someone broken down in the middle of nowhere on a day l would love to forget. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: Been here a few times now, nice & clean inside the swimming area, not a massive pool but big enough, separate area for swimming lengths & separate area for swimming , families , kids & they have select time where the kids can play with balls, floats, noodle's etc which are provided by the staff , there is also a separate viewing area just by the pool, changing rooms are good & also nice, clean with hair dryers & lockers, there is also a sauna / steam room & a massage room available

Positive experience: Excellent place especially for children and young families who stay in the holiday chalets. Very clean and tidy. Nice family bar for eating out with the children. Also nice restaurant for dinner.

Positive experience: Nice pool for a quick splash around with the family. Lockers need a pound. There are free hairdryers & one of the spinny things to dry stuff in. Nice warm showers for when you come out.

Negative experience: DONT EVEN BOTHER MOST SNOBBY & RUDE PLACE I HAVE EVER VISITED. I am reading Anthropology at Oxford and every holiday I come and spend my free time visiting my parents here in Derbyshire. I take the opportunity whilst I am here to join a local Gym, the last two times I have chosen the Woodlands Gym in rowsley which is great but has NO pool. On seeing the new development i was keen to test the waters, and so after cycling back from chesterfield i ventured in. the lady on the desk was both rude and dismissive making it perfectly clear that i was NOT welcome as a temporary member. Well excuse me for breathing but Ive worked as a freelance Journalist and Photographer all around the world and to come home and be greeted with such inappropriate mannerism was a total slap in the face. this place should wake up and smell the reality of the financial state of our country. they only want your money. and seem to be running a closed society type of operation. us and them is alive and well in Derbyshire. steer clear.
