Positive experience: Founded in 1341 by Robert de Eglesfield in honour of Queen Philippa of Hainault (wife of King Edward III of England). It is distinguished by its predominantly neoclassical architecture, which includes buildings designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Nicholas Hawksmoor.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful campus, great location, helpful staff, and an amazing place to visit. In Oxford, this is one of the colleges that is closed to visitors, but the very friendly guard let us in because my father is an Oxford alumni and I could be considered a prospective student. Anyone who appreciates learning and architure would really enjoy their time at the Queen’s College.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful college, with gorgeous architecture. Stunning library. Very friendly and like other colleges in city centre, once you walk through the entrance gates you're really in another world, seemingly far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Positive experience: Queens College has one of the more imposing and spectacular facades in Oxford High Street, or The High, as it is known to the locals. The alcoves along the front were presumably for status at one time. Photography is often difficult as a wide selection of buses stop outside the college. If open, it is worth a visit as the interior is just as impressive as it's exterior.
