Fantastic experience: Great size gym and everyone is friendly. Good mix of equipment too.
Fantastic experience: Joined the Gym Group a few weeks ago and I am absolutely loving it. I am a first time gym goer and was always put off due to inexperience and or feeling shy in the gym. I didn’t need to worry though - the gym, staff, classes and facilities are all great. There’s a nice atmosphere in this gym and the staff are always friendly and happy to help. I am enjoying the classes, especially Gary’s fit pump class. The gym is very clean and well maintained. I did receive a parking fine but Andy sorted this for me straight away. The 4 free guest passes a month are also great and I’ve been using them to persuade my friends to join too! Would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Negative experience: People machine hogging is massive problem in the gym you got people on morning sitting on machines 20-30 min talking about there next holiday and social media it on phones doing about 3 sets in 20 min sitting on machine AV talked to loads off people who used go and they agree with me and say that's why left cause nothing gets done about it pulse like training in north Korea slince in gym no atmosphere

Fantastic experience: Very good gym, went yesterday and they have plenty of equipment and it wasn’t too busy which I liked. They have showers in the changing rooms which is good

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member here for a year and love it! I’ve never kept up a membership for more than a few months previously but I now enjoy going to the gym. The atmosphere is friendly and all of the trainers are more than happy to help. Special shout out to Yaz who had helped me on my fitness journey and also Jess for the amazing sports massages!
Negative experience: Below average, not the best of The Gym Group facilities I have used and I have used quite a few across the county. A bit cramped, very busy during peak periods, a bit grubby in places. Changing rooms are tiny. I noted several machines broken (upright steppers in the middle of the cross trainers), these were not labelled as out of use. I mention this to the PT around at the time (no other staff), seemed disinterested. These machine may have not been working for a while… who knows, certainly not the guy I spoke to. To address owners response. This is a generic cut and paste and doesn’t even address the principle issue of broken machines…… not very helpful

Fantastic experience: It’s a good gym, been here a couple of month now and I like it, it’s not got the clicks or the in crowds like most the others, theres a good mix of people. Well fitted out, clean and none pretentious. On the down side I can’t understand why Gym Group did not stipulate when taken lease that parking had to be part of the deal? to be honest it’s not that much of a hardship putting your details in. All in all 10 out 10
Negative experience: The staff is very friendly but the materials needs some improvement as it's missing lots of different press machines (back, shoulders...etc)

Fantastic experience: I joined here around 5 months ago and I have really enjoy my experience in this gym. The staff are fantastic, really friendly and helpful. The app is really good for booking classes and checking how busy the gym is. There's a really good mix of age groups. The gym itself is very clean and there's 1 cleaner who really prides himself in doing a very good job. There's an excellent range of machine, plenty of bikes running machines cross trainers etc.
Fantastic experience: I have recently joined my local gym after moving home, and I’m very impressed by all of it. The staff were immediately helpful, and it was easy to join. What is most impressive to me is the cleanliness and the orderly way equipment is stored after use. The standards are a lot higher than my previous gym. No complaints at all!

Fantastic experience: Just joined this gym, and it’s been great. I actually love it. It is very clean, there’s always a cleaner cleaning. It is well air conditioned and doesn’t smell. The equipment is good, well maintained and plentiful. The app is useful and easy to use, can check capacity and book classes. The staff have been helpful, friendly and welcoming. Not had any issue with parking - always get a space and just stick my reg in when entering. It is bright and a good environment to be in. Feel better already for going!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the Gym Group Sunderland South for about 4 months now and have found the gym to be a nice environment with friendly and professional staff. I have also been having PT with Yaz twice a week, he is a great personal trainer, keeping me motivated and challenged. He has been very supportive throughout our one to one sessions, adapting these weekly to accommodate my 1st trimester of pregnancy.
Fantastic experience: Fab gym, great variety of classes and really supportive trainers. Felt really welcome when I first joined everyone is always willing to give you help, advice and support when needed.
Fantastic experience: Always enjoy the fit pump class, even though Dale is a beast and tries to kill us every Wednesday. Always feel encouraged and supported.

Negative experience: Got a £60 fine for parking in the car park to use the gym. There was no sign in the gym at the time to tell me that i need to register. £69 for 30 min workout is an absolute joke. Not only this, it is the worst the gym group i have visited. Barely any equipment which was the main reason why my session was short. I will never recommend this gym

Positive experience: Good basic gym, everything you need but downside is the private owned car park attached to the gym, have not been back since receiving £300 in parking fines in 1 week. It's a shame because this technically isn't the gyms fault, but I would have thought the gym would be able to help with appeals unfortunately not

Negative experience: Ridiculous that you have a company taking care of your car park and have no clear indication that registration is required not to get a fine. Absolutely disgusting.

Fantastic experience: This is a nice no frills gym but does have some extras due to it being 24 hr with vending machine and water for members. I went as a guest but it could be a more regular gym for me

Fantastic experience: Great gym, fairly limited in equipment but doesn’t restrict what you can do - there is still more than enough. Never overly packed, friendly staff too. I have never once had or seen any trouble there and have faith it would be dealt with quick by the company if it DID happen seen as all turnstiles and the whole gym is on camera. Atmosphere is FAB - one of few gyms I’ve been to where someone came up to me to cheer me on when I was struggling on a deadlift.
Negative experience: It’s a normie gym and I only visited as I was unable to attend my local temple to train with the lads. I strongly advise against using these establishments - the large chain gyms are the menace of free enterprise and are having a profound negative impact on local gyms. Yes it may be cheaper but there’s a reason for that. This is my analysis: these places are over lit, clinical and soulless. There’s no spirit or character in there. Everyone is on a machine while playing on their phone. In a real gym people are in a mess, covered in sweat / adversity / euphoria. Suppose your local gym

Negative experience: Fine if you want basic gym equipment but anything beyond that don’t bother. Not to mention ‘behaviour warnings’ and parking tickets for parking in the gym car park if you ever forget to sign in on the tablets. Unwelcoming atmosphere due to feral teenagers running riot unsupervised. Came from a proper establishment and promptly returning to one after giving gym group a go, turns out the price you pay does really reflect the quality of where you train.

Negative experience: Worst gyms I've ever been to. Overran with kids, equipment mixed all over, facilities flood in the rain, chased my partner up with a debt collection agency and £15 fine 2 days after a payment had bounced with no email warning. Money grabbing, shockingly manned, utter hovel of a gym. Not to mention if you, god forbid, forget to enter yournreg on the budget isle tablets that barely work, youll get a fine for parking. Better off going to New Level or OneGym, this gym only seems good if you've got no experience of a half decent gym.

Fantastic experience: This gym is great. Especially living near it, in Sunderland South. The staff are there at hand to help with any of your needs.Its all brand new and nippin clean. Great to have the option now on this side of the water that is 24/7 with excellent membership costs, with a good variety of classes easy to add on to in the app and plenty of machines in a light and airey environment. Havin a Yango water machine is tremendous also

Fantastic experience: Lovely, bright, and friendly atmosphere. For a novice like me it was terrifying to walk through the door the first time but I need not have worried! The staff are helpful and welcoming. Most of all it's a comfortable environment with every machine you could ever need and plenty of space to move around.

The classes are varied and easy to book through the app. If you are looking for a personal trainer I can highly recommend Dan Clark - his 1:1 and small group sessions are fantastic and he gets results. All round, can't rate these guys highly enough.

Fantastic experience: From day one of opening i have been welcomed into the gym by Andy and his team. All staff are approachable and helpful. Many thanks to the team Since start at The Gym Group Sunderland my training has taken me to a new level of fitness and confidence. Trainer Andy has helped me immensley with cardio and strength training. All members of staff say hello and how are you. Just find me if you need any help. All staff are approachable and willing to help. My tip to other gym users especially if new to fitness is ask. Advise and help always available. The gym is well maintained and clean . Any gym members concerns are addressed asap. Kerp up the good work Sunderland .we appreciate all you do.

Fantastic experience: I signed up after my old gym sadly closed down. I was worried about the atmosphere and anxious on going. I needn't have worried I enjoy my sessions and have been multiple times since my first visit. Staff are friendly and helpful and are always around helping members or cleaning, tidying etc.

Positive experience: Pretty decent. Friendly staff, tons of great equipment. It would be 5 stars if the scan in worked properly and I didn't have to register my license plate every time I enter

Positive experience: Plenty of good equipment, large free weights area. Absolute bargain for the membership price. However, please put more classes on!!! Nowhere near enough classes compared with other gyms.
