Fantastic experience: Great Gym, my favourite in Lewisham area. Sauna and an area for women only which is great. Classes are also great.

Negative experience: Bad! I tried to cancel my membership within the cooling off period but now getting threats that I will be charged if I don't re-set up my DD. I visited once. Firstly, the place stinks - they have a carpet, in the gym!! Out of hours, the door is supposed to be locked, it doesn't shut. So not safe. Anyone can access. There are no barbell caps. Just not a nice experience. Sadly they seem to be breaking their own T&Cs now...AVOID

Positive experience: Been going here since they opened, really good gym, good facilities and staff haven’t been bad to me personally. Issues with Out of service machines don’t last long and cleanliness is generally good.

Negative experience: The gym is incredibly chaotic, with clients showing little regard for one another. The weights are always scattered and never in their proper place, and there never seem to be enough plates for the machines. It feels like there are cameras everywhere, giving the place a Hollywood-like atmosphere. It's not the staff's fault but something need to be done.

Fantastic experience: The staff are respectful and very helpful and as a person with hidden disabilities the experience has been amazing and I would recommend the gym to anyone

Negative experience: The gym isn't very fair! Doesn't allow grappling or rolling even though there is plenty of space, rooms and different floor for all people and activities. Need equal treatment!

Positive experience: Sometimes crowded, but still enough machines/equipment for you to complete your planned workout without too much delay. Different dedicated areas for different types of training (e.g., spin room, free weights/dumbbells area with isolateral machines, as well as the usual cardio and "pinned" weight machines) Open 24 hours. And, most importantly (for me) it has an infrared sauna with generous operating times

Fantastic experience: Very nice gym. All equipment in good condition. Love the sauna to relax after a workout. Wish there could be some aerobics classes during the day. Say Zumba etc.

Her adaptability and encouragement have truly transformed my practice. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a supportive and inclusive environment to explore yoga. Grateful for her dedication and skill! She even rubbed my back with tiger balm in the child position. Sorry, I had to leave 20 min early but it was done deliberately since I am trying to get back to exercise after a good 6 months with no activity. Also, thanks for the personal touch of connecting with us spiritually, that means you go above and beyond. Cheers.

Negative experience: It would actually be a decent gym as it has all the equipment you could ever want and also offers some classes, albeit limited. However, the music is often terrible and far too loud so this evening I cancelled my DD as soon as I walked out. I mean it's not a party bus but a gym and I'd like to be able to focus on my workout rather than being distracted by loud 'music' that is giving me a headache. Irrespective of musical taste I wouldn't expect to be blasted by Motörhead in the gym either as it's not the right place for that. Tried to take it up with the member of staff there who seemed to enjoy himself and told me I am the only one complaining and that everyone else liked his choice of music. How would he know, people usually don't complain en masse. At least one other guy I talked to in the sauna also felt it was too loud. This gym is probably best suited to teenagers and people under 30, so if you're not in that group better spend a few pounds more and go somewhere you can train in peace. Of course there are different tastes in music but reducing the volume by 50% would already go a long way. This gym is also not cheap anymore as it has gone from £21.95 to £26.95 in only three years and the sauna is frequently broken, or 'under maintenance'. They tell you every day it would be open tomorrow and you end up going there every day for a whole week and it's still not fixed. Not good when you're not living close by and one of your main reasons to sign up was that NRG has a sauna. Don't forget your ear plugs.That is all, we're done here.

Positive experience: Good gym friendly staff but the lack of 20kg plates and cable rope. The 20kg plate sharing can cause an has caused a lot of disruption in my training and other members of the gym. I enjoy the gym but 20kg plates need to be addressed.

Fantastic experience: I Got a 3 month new years membership so sad to be leaving because of other commitments but this gym was sooo amazingly great. Amazing knowledgeable and passion trainers and staff. Consistent classes where you can meet people and make gym friends. I love the vibe and atmosphere, clean and facilities are impressive. Female area and sauna are above and beyond for the price.

Fantastic experience: The facilities here were amazing! I was met by Clive at the reception and gave me and my friends a chat about progressing in the gym and becoming more fit. He even gave each of us individual tips I haven’t heard elsewhere before! I definitely will be coming back a lot more often the gym is great and really friendly, I highly recommend it.

Negative experience: The toilets r essentially always dirty and the taps don't work properly. The gym is quite cramped, for the price this gym is not the best.

Fantastic experience: I’m so grateful to this gym. I've been a member for years, and it's been my haven for maintaining both mental and physical health, rain or shine. The people here are so friendly, and the staff is truly amazing. Though I've had to leave the area, I'm looking forward to returning in the future and rejoining this great community.

Negative experience: IGNORE THIS GYM AT ALL TIMES!!! Previously Pure Gym was way better than NRG Gym sheffield! The management were nice & professional. To NRG gym management team- please keep in mind this is a gym which you run for the use of Sheffield community people. You need to have professionalism and kindness when dealing with people. This is not a boxing or MMA gym you would put rules just the way you like and threaten members offering to cancel membership with a smile when members come at you complaining about certain matters. NRG gym owner please change them staff from management or else this gym is closed for good where you’re left with no members.

Negative experience: Worst GYM ever Toilets are disgusting Not enough lockers for the amount of people that uses the gym. Terrible. How many lockers are there? 25-20 for 1000 people?!!! This needs to be improved.

Positive experience: We joined this gym because they had a great deal on for a winter membership. Haven't used it as much as we'd like, but that's because it's not a hugely fun place to be. It has no windows and the music is often far too loud, and not particularly good music on a number of occasions. However, their equipment is excellent and plentiful, so it's done the job for us!

Fantastic experience: I love going to this gym, it’s fantastic, with a wide range of interesting equipment and also the fight club upstairs. It’s just the best gym in town. Staff are really really friendly, especially sam, really helpful, really knowledgeable, nothing is too much effort. Great example of how gym should be

Positive experience: Decent gym with friendly staff. The female zone is a nice touch, but sometimes can be cramped and lacks a few facilities. Would be nice, if possible, if it could be expanded. Some weight machines are missing the "weight gauge stick".

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this gym. The staff are always amazing and accommodating. The new manager Andrew has been doing really well. The energy of the gym has felt different since he took over. Additionally I’m so happy to be in a gym that has actual music playing and not just radio stations repeating the same adverts. The music choices allows for high energy in the gym, which I absolutely love!

Fantastic experience: I came all the way from East London to attend Harold Yoga class. A gem of teacher, but it's not for the faint hearted. The gym is probably one of the best at that price point in London.

Fantastic experience: Been going to NRG over 3 years now and for the price you pay it’s the best option in the area. Staff are friendly and helpful and there’s a great community in the gym. Would never return to a commercial gym after going to NRG as it offers so much more in terms of availability of equipment and weights

Negative experience: Chest machines are all a hazard and alignment are all off so avoid or basically get an injury. Free weights are all over the place often left on the floor . Most times music put on a play list and they have the most violent drill music possible and they advertise deals which when paid don't let u access the gym . Cardio are is the only thing I would recommend u to use but overall gymnis poor

Fantastic experience: This is my before review. I was incredibly impressed with the space and the vibe in the gym. Very movement oriented! The assistant manager (newly promoted!) was fantastic and welcoming and very friendly and knowledgeable. She hooked us up with some passes even if we don’t sign up, so we could try it out! Very excited for my workout! More to follow! Just got done with my workout and am just as impressed, if not more, than when I got here! Lots of machines, free weights and space for doing your own thing. Very clean and inviting and somehow the space makes me want to keep working out even when I am exhausted! This is exactly what I need in a gym! 10/10 and will be getting a membership immediately!

Negative experience: As it is the most expensive gym in Lewisham, the least I expect is that the equipment is working properly. They do not upgrade... for example (Lat Pull Down Attachment) etc. and is usually dirty. many broken equipment or missing parts. a disgrace for a gym that charges almost £26 a month.

Fantastic experience: I've been training here for a couple of years now and all the staff are amazing. I love the fact they have a women's only section as well as martial arts classes. They have all the equipment I need. The staff are always happy to help out and very chilled. Never had a bad experience here.

Fantastic experience: Definitely 1of best leg press machines of the planet!staff are nice structure for pull/chin ups near men changing room is good.. MMA zone really nice except external membership...and studio is good too+good seating zone tables approved

Positive experience: Generally we love NRG, the very few niggles are far outweighed by the positives, great price, good equipment, super friendly staff and a good vibe, the niggles are more technical issues, the too frequent issues with the toilets and drains, the punch bags needing the odd fix and the usual sauna breakdowns, get those solved and it’s an easy move from 4.5 stars ( I could not do that on the icons!) to a 5. I recommend the gym to anyone who is ever interested.

Fantastic experience: Joined this gym about a month ago (mainly to do cardio and loose weight) and been going very regularly. People there are super friendly - helpful and approachable to a novice - making it less scary for an OLD beginner like me! (I think I might be the oldest one there). My induction with Angelo was super. He's great and gives you super tips on how to start this new journey. And then yesterday, Amar and the really friendly guy with glasses (sorry for forgetting the name!) were really kind and generous letting me bring a friend for free so I can convert him to join me at the gym. I didn't think this possible: but I enjoy going there. Especially the female only zone - it's nice to have the privacy to make a fool of oneself trying out gym equipment for the first time. And one more mention: Clive - he cleans relentlessly, the place is always top - which is important to me. Thanks to everyone there, making this dreaded experience much more enjoyable than expected!

Fantastic experience: Where do I start with this place This gym is by far an essential to all the other things in my day to day, not because of the equipment (which is bountiful), not because of the range of protein drinks and energy drinks, not for expansively wide range of music but for the community in side of this gym The staff here are absolutely amazing in the service they provide, the energy they give and the care they show A couple names I’d like to leave would be Nathan, Angelo, Rahul, Andrew, Denisa and Leon, you guys are one of the many reasons I still come here <3 I’ve been a very long member of this gym and the progress I’ve personally made wouldn’t have been done if not for the people around me that support me through my journey by having the little conversations, jokes, the instagram posts etc If u feel scared to come to this gym or the gym in general don’t be there is people in there that only want to see yourself as well as themselves make the progress and I will be one of them among the people above Quick summary: gym very good, fantastic vibes, great music please join (there is also a sauna)

Fantastic experience: Been a member since it opened, excellent gym and staff. Lost my phone while in the gym recently, luckily Clive spotted it and kept it safe by the reception. Only gripe is, wish they would add another evening or weekend Body Pump class with Soli.

Negative experience: I have to be honest, this is hard for me to write because I genuinely love my gym and I love the staff - Nathan, Clive and all the PT’s - you’re amazing. But I need to do this on behalf of all the women at NRG. Over the last couple of months the female toilets have been completely out of use due to a blockage. The women have resulted to queuing for the disabled toilet and even this becomes blocked after a few uses. This is unacceptable for loyal paying customers. I myself suffer from a chronic illness which means I need to have access to a toilet at all times. It’s got to the point where I am considering moving gyms, because I am so anxious about the lack of facilities. I have to add that the disabled toilet which we now have to use is filthy - it hasn’t been cleaned since I started a year ago and it is used as a storage cupboard. This is a health and safety concern and our basic needs as members aren’t being met. I really hope this gets sorted soon because it is not fair on the women.

Fantastic experience: Great gym , lots of equipment to use . Not to busy in the early hours which is ideal for me . Staff member Clive is always there to assist with any problems, very friendly and helpful and always keeping the gym in top order

Fantastic experience: I've been utilizing the excellent gym facility at NRG Lewisham since 2021. While I faced problems with my account during my vacation, NATHAN efficiently resolved the matter and reinstated my account in a highly prompt manner

Fantastic experience: Great atmosphere - not just your typical muscle-man gym. Great that it has a female only zone. Really varied selection of equipment including things you don't always find at other gyms. Air con really high. Ayesha was super helpful and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: First time going to the gym, i was very nervous and scared, Amar noticed me and come over to help me, at first he asked me all sorts of questions and then he explained everything to me, told me what i should start with, helped me understand the equipment, advised me on diet plan as well, he was sooo helpful, i will definitely be going to him every time i need help. Negative experience: The Sauna stopped working. The lady who was with me pressed the emergency button. Even after 5 minutes, no one came. This is a breach of health and safety. I reported it to a member of staff, and he said that he would go there and see. I went back to inform the lady I was with. When I came back out, I saw that same staff on the phone, talking to the lady beside him. I came to this gym because of the sauna, but if the sauna is not working and staff is blatantly ignoring my complaints, what am I paying for then? Try harder, Ngr Gym.

Fantastic experience: This gym has been on my list to try out, I finally did early hours of the morning on Tuesday, not only is the place stunning but after walking around probably looking like a lost puppy I was approached by one of the staff there Clive, he was so lovely, friendly and helpful in asking if I were okay as I did seem a bit lost and as I was reaching the end of my visit there he made great conversation I wasn’t to sure if I wanted to switch gyms but after meeting Clive I’m definitely going to make the switch!

Fantastic experience: Just moved to Lewisham so popped in for trial. Clive welcomed me, showed me around and was so unbelievably friendly and helpful. The gym is great. Very good value. Will definitely be joining!

Fantastic experience: I joined about 2 months ago, I like that its near my place, is open 24 hours, 3 hours of free parking, but be aware that the Lewisham shopping centre parking entrance from the mall closes when the mall closes. it has a Sauna and plenty of equipment. the best this though is the honesty of the staff, I had taken off my smartwatch to do some boxing and laid it on the ground, after I finished I forgot to pick it up, when I got home I realised I had forgotten it, thought to myself it's a lost cause, I did, however, check with Clive at the reception desk the next day and he was super helpful and advised to just keep checking as it could turn up later. that was 2 weeks ago and today when I went it Leon, one of the PT there recognised me and told me that he had kept my watch safe for me till I turned up, I was so happy and Leon brother I am super grateful to you for going above and beyond and remembering me.

Positive experience: First gym I’ve ever actually went to stuck by and enjoy working out in, thanks to Stefan polson and Peter Rennes I’ve lost 9 pounds in a month and gained some muscles my favourite classes , 1 star down because my NRG locker was destroyed whilst I was in the gym I only had it for 3 days asked if I could have a replacement and was told no.
