Blue Wave Pool & Gym

Fantastic experience: Really nice pool, with friendly staff. Sue, the swimming instructor is really good, and made me feel calm during my swimming lessons.

Negative experience: Really upset with my experience today at Blue Wave very upset . Both my two children started swimming lessons at hartsdown due to one being SEN and not coping great in the big pool I was recommended to Blue Wave which was a lot smaller and My Sen Son Loved the pool warm and clean and his teacher was amazing with him and his needs. Other hand my other son had his swimming lesson on a different day which he enjoyed but the life guard came over and told me my sen child could not play his games on his tablet pool side and to put it away. I understand for privacy reason but I explained he cannot concentrate for periods of time and I wanted to watch my other child swim. Advised rules are rules. I was offered to sit outside with him so he could play on his device which left me in a very difficult situation because I couldn’t and didn’t want to leave my other son inside not being watched especially on his first swim session at this swim school and being 5 years old. I spent the whole 30 minutes trying to keep my sen child occupied which was not easy and was not able to watch my other child swim, unfortunately now had to pull my child from the class. Very upset and a very hard experience for me

Negative experience: When it was a standalone gym it was good. Now you have to book everything through Your leisure it’s awful. Trying to book toddler swimming slots is almost impossible. Not only at Bluewave but every your leisure facility. Their website is almost unusable, every swimming slot says “sorry unavailable” even if you go days in advance. There is a link below stating members get advance access to the booking system so they’re just trying to get you sign up to be a member so they have that guaranteed income each month. Sad really when you drive past and the car park is empty…

Positive experience: Used to go here a while ago. They've got a great and always clean swimming pool; on the other hand, the gym is very small and lacks choice of equipment. Ok for the price.

Negative experience: Nice pool, used for aqua natal but has been recently cancelled due to temperature of the pool being too hot... Disappointing as there is no where else near which offers this class

Fantastic experience: The friendliness of the staff and other patrons make this place more than just a standard gym. I take my son swimming there and to have such a warm pool is a novelty and has helped him progress in his swimming.

Fantastic experience: A lovely, friendly, and welcoming gym. The staff immediately put you at ease. The pool itself is a hydrotherapy pool therefore smaller and warmer than a standard pool.

Fantastic experience: Gym upstairs is small but just what you need for a workout - be it weights or cardio, plus not too busy at certain times of day. There is a medium room for boxing and various classes that take place. The swimming pool is divine; temperature JUST right for how hot or how cool the day is. It's never too cold like most swimming pools, just like going into a large bath. There are various features within the pool; a Jacuzzi corner and 2 large tap waterfalls. Combined with the lovely ambient light it's really amazing. Changing rooms are basic; stalls for changing and others for showers, some of the locks are a bit old but still work. Pool does classes also; swimming lessons etc. Upstairs there is also other options like massage therapy for chronic pain etc but have never tried them (hears good things though). Staff are absolutely lovely, very kind and offering information.

Fantastic experience: The pool was very quiet and had relaxing water jets. The water is so warm and I felt so relaxed after going there. I seriously suggest this place and the prices for access to the hydrotherapy pool are really good.
