This day spa is set within 100 acres of the most magnificent Lancashire countryside The Woodland Spa is perfectly located and accessible from the entire North West.
No longer must you wait to experience a luxury spa escape like no other – we’ve unveiled our additional brand-new £16 million thermal experiences.
Our magnificent spa has expanded – doubled in size – and we’ve introduced even more beautiful thermal experiences. However, we understand and value the luxury of space, and therefore we will not double the number of guests we invite each day to share in the splendour of it all. This will ensure your visit is as tranquil as it is exclusive. Furthermore, we don’t limit your time in our experiences to just two hours. When you visit us, you may stay for the entirety of your day. Luxurious spa relaxation mustn’t be a rushed experience.
The first thing you’ll notice when you visit our spa in Lancashire is our location. Set within 100 acres of the most magnificent Lancashire countryside with its undulating rolling landscape, sensational woodland and lush verdant pasture, there is a true sense of intimacy and peace created by the surroundings. The dramatic, distinct landscape is dominated by the impressive Pendle Hill – famous for its tales of Lancashire witches, sorcery and black magic in the 17th-century.
As you make your way down our winding lane, you will find yourself unwinding. At the end of your visit, you’ll find yourself wondering how soon you can return…
Whether you choose to visit just for The Experience, indulge in one of our luxury Spa Days which includes a delicious treatment, or better still enjoy the most gratifying experience of all – a Spa Break, we’re certain you’ll love it here. Step out of your world and into ours…
“What a gem, absolutely faultless from start to finish. Highly recommend a visit! Food in both hotel restaurant and the spa facilities were amazing.”
“This spa is outstanding and great value. The staff are lovely and there were some really nice touches. We were offered to change robes and towels at anytime. There is nothing worse than sitting having a leisurely lunch in a wet robe. So this was very welcomed by myself and my friend.
It also wasn’t overcrowded and there was plenty of sun loungers and beds inside and outside. So no need to reserve a bed as there was more than enough. Which is often a downside to most spas. Lunch was outstanding and filled us up for the rest of the whole day.
Woodland spa is the best in the North West. I visited today with my mum and sister and we had a lovely day. We had the thermal experience with lunch and can’t fault anything. The spa was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and the lunch was delicious. The spa facilities are fantastic. We spent over five hours in the spa and loved every minute.
Our comment from FitFit UK about The Woodland Spa:
The Woodland Spa, located in Burnley, United Kingdom, offers a unique blend of relaxation and luxury amidst beautiful facilities, making it a popular choice for spa enthusiasts. Visitors frequently highlight the friendly staff and the impressive design of the spa, which includes a range of thermal experiences, outdoor pools, and a stunning rooftop area.
Many guests appreciate the cleanliness of the spa and the tranquil atmosphere that allows them to unwind fully. Experiences such as the Rasul Mud Ritual have been praised, alongside the delicious food options available at Bertram's restaurant, where the experience is often complemented by gorgeous views.
However, some users have reported issues with customer service, including difficulties in making appointments and problems with gift voucher policies. A few guests expressed disappointment in the quality of certain treatments, feeling that they did not meet the high expectations set by the spa's overall reputation.
Overall, The Woodland Spa is highly recommended for those seeking a rejuvenating day away, though potential visitors may want to consider booking experiences well in advance and check for the latest offerings.
The Woodland Spa: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Amazing spa! Very friendly and not too posh.
Negative experience: I visited the Woodland Spa for my birthday on November 12th, and while the spa itself is beautifully designed with impressive refurbishments, the treatment experience was disappointing. My friend and I each paid £240 for a 1-hour and 45-minute treatment, but unfortunately, we both left unsatisfied. May I also add I visit at least 6 spas a year and this was the worst massage I have ever received. Almost like being a client at a college for students to practice. During my session, my therapist left the main light on despite my request to dim it, which made it hard to relax. I asked her to increase the pressure several times, but it didn’t improve. Her technique felt unpolished, with abrupt transitions between areas, and she used cold oil. As a massage therapist myself, I was surprised by the lack of attention to these basic details. When I realized my friend was also unhappy with her treatment, we decided to speak with the receptionist. The receptionist assured us she would follow up, but after not hearing back, I had to send an email, which took days for a response. When they finally replied, they apologized and offered us £50 off a future visit. Given the overall experience, I don’t feel this offer reflects the issues we encountered, and I won’t be returning.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely spectacular, we will definitely return.
Fantastic experience: Excellent excellent spa! Has massively grown over the last year. The ‘old/original’ area is still as wonderful with saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and the outside areas. The new area is just WOW! Plenty of spaces for a delicious cocktail. We were on the thermal and dine experience so had our lunch in Bertram’s. Previously, on other visits, we have enjoyed the tapas on the terrace and would definitely recommend that over the 2 course lunch. The majority of the food was tasty, however service was incredibly slow and not quite as we would expect which was such a shame with silly little mistakes that didn’t need to happen. The spa didn’t feel too busy and was lovely and soothing. Would highly recommend this spa. The value for money is fantastic as you can have a full day unlike other spas.
Positive experience: Spa is a lovely treat, we ate in the pizza bar on the terrace and was lovely
Fantastic experience: Amazing! Loved every minute.
Fantastic experience: Just back from an Amazing spa day with my husband. Wow what a place, 5 star facilities, spotlessly clean, stunning food, we will definitely be going back soon. The only downside and nothing to do with the place itself, were the constant amount of people constantly taking pictures of everything and bloody selfies. Just go and emerse yourselves in the experience.
Fantastic experience: Visited the Spa for the day with a 60 minute treatment. The treatment was fantastic, relaxing and well worth it. The Spa is great. Purpose built which makes a big difference to other spas that have been retrofitted to locations. Highly recommend visiting. The food in the restaurant is lovely as well.
Fantastic experience: A truly amazing experience for both my wife and I...10/10!
Fantastic experience: Visited October 2024. Our first visit since the spa's reopening, now twice the size with an additional rooftop pool and bar that are excellent quality. The expansion could be described as 'more of the same,' but that is a good thing. Add lunch at the restaurant overlooking the outdoor pool - a two course meal is available from the À la carte menu at an additional cost. A meal completes any visit, it is probably the only restaurant that you will attend where everyone is wearing a bathrobe. A super day out and worth a visit.
Negative experience: Trying for over a week to make appointment, no one answers the phone and no reply to online booking enquiry. No point having amazing facilities if customers can’t utilise them……
Negative experience: Having been to the Woodland Spa on numerous occasions I am saddened by our latest visit. Although the extension is beautiful they have in other ways taken a step backwards in terms of luxury. The sun loungers used to be luxury loungers with cushions but for some reason they have chosen to replace these with cheap loungers. I suspect with purchasing cheaper loungers they can have more and therefore accomodate more guests which again detracts from the luxury spa experience unfortunately. The front desk staff at the spa were not very welcoming or helpful giving the impression they don't care if you return. We were issued locker keys but they had mixed these up and therefore we had to spend our time working out which band should have been paired with which locker. The shampoo in a number of the showers was empty in the changing rooms. Although there was staff wandering around they appeared more to be watching the guests rather than helping. The attention to detail you would expect at a luxury spa have been lost which is a shame because previously I could not fault the Woodland spa. Please reevaluate your core values as these seem to have been lost.
Fantastic experience: Blown away!! From reception to the showers this place is amazing! Greated very warmly by reception staff who were only too happy to make us feel welcome. We were told what was what and got our locker keys and proceeded to changing rooms which I'd say were on a par with centre parcs for size immaculately clean we were greeted by spa assistants and shown to our lockers and grabbed our robes. It was quite quiet which was lovely lots of space to chill and unwind. I didn't have a treatment but my friend did and she said it was so relaxing. The outdoor part again was quiet and we went into the terrace where again staff were so helpful and happy. We didn't eat here but if the food is as good as the general service it'll be amazing. I'd definitely recommend and I'd definitely love to come back. Ample car park Dietary requirements catered for We went on a Fri and it did get busy around 5pm for the twighlight spa session. It's no wonder it's been voted best day spa in the UK it truly deserves that title!
Positive experience: Loved the Sauna and heat room
Fantastic experience: Woodland Spa has gorgeous facilities which makes for a really pleasant and relaxing experience. The spa is really impressive in size with a wide range of spa features and pools, and very cosy bar areas. We loved how quiet and spacious it was, even at the rooftop pool. The only issues related to the rooftop area. There was nowhere to leave your robes at the rooftop pool when it was raining (a sheltered area with hooks would be helpful); and quite a lot of leftover towels/robes left around the rooftop fire pits (some clearly marked towel bins on the rooftop might help). Otherwise, it’s a really well managed and serene spa with very nice tapas, and we look forward to relaxing again here :) Definitely my favourite spa I’ve been to yet!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful new areas to explore. The new pool with spa bubbles in each corner is stunning. The tiles are peacock blues and greens with gold. Absolutely loved the whole new large rooftop pool/jacuzzi terrace & bar/tapas/relaxing warm areas. The new ice room is fab & looks so cool. Lots of different saunas/steam rooms, foot spas & warm pools. The changing areas facilities are great, fab showers/shampoo & conditioners/vanity places with fab hairdryers are very nice. Loved my flip-flops/robe & towel lovely & soft. The food & drinks are quality but I found expensive & can not pay with cash, which is a shame. The staff are lovely, polite& welcoming. Overall definitely recommend & will be back soon fingers crossed This was my 3rd visit.
Fantastic experience: The best spa in the northwest. Treat yourself to a day out
Fantastic experience: Beautiful spa, best in the country, if you want a relaxing and luxurious time, there is no better place and the staff are simply amazing
Fantastic experience: The woodland spa has been my favorite spa since my first visit nearly 2 years ago, since then it's had the most outstanding refurb ever!! It actually blows you away how incredible it is! Hats off to the owner and the team. Anyway - I'm 30 next year and I'd love to bring a group of my favorite people with me for an overnight stay and spa for a good deal . Incredible 20/10.
Positive experience: Wow what a beautiful spa ,and friendly staff. Only reason I don't give a 5 star is the price , £99 each is a bit pricey but good for a one off experience.
Fantastic experience: Went for the thermal spa day, from checking in at the hotel first, luggage taken from us and then took by golf buggy to Woodlands spa, wow what an amazing place staff really friendly, place extremely clean and the best spa day we have ever had sat on rooftop in sauna views are amazing, then spent the night in the hotel which is spotlessly clean staff good and food really nice will definitely be back
Fantastic experience: We were very happy with the whole experience, and they were very flexible with choices of treatments and the afternoon lunch. All staff extremely friendly.
Fantastic experience: Found exactly what I was searching for, very informative and easy to book.
Fantastic experience: Love love love woodland spa, took my mum for the first time and she loved it too. Best spa ever
Fantastic experience: 4th time here and still just as good. Clean and tidy spa and changing area. Friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: My No1 Spa ! Everything is perfect here! Designed for personal luxury and comfort, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The treatments are amazing! I recommend The Woodland Spa
Fantastic experience: Excellent spa day would definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: Great place to spend the day. Or even a few days as there is a fabulous hotel literally next door. Fabulous facilities, wonderful treatments. ❤️ loved it.
Fantastic experience: Went here for the first time and absolutely loved it. Ladies at reception were so welcoming and lovely, explained everything really simply and didn't feel rushed even though they're probably sick of saying the same speel all day. We got there about 10am and it was nice and quiet, got busier over peak time and then died off again from 3pm (this was a Thursday) so had hot tubs on our which was nice. Had the mud treatment which was fun but probably wouldn't do again. Food was great at lunch, decent portions. My only criticism is that we waited quite a while for drinks and order to be taken but other than that it was nice. Will definitely be going again!
Fantastic experience: This facility is spotless and probably one of the finest spa/health clubs I've visited. I've been all over the world and seen loads so feel qualified enough to say so. The staff there are obliging, and friendly too.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place. Friendly staff and really good treatments. No problem with the building works but the £10 voucher was a nice gesture - recommend using it in the strawberry daiquiri.
Fantastic experience: Gorgeous spa, you wouldn't even know you're in Burnley! It's got lots of different areas so doesn't feel busy. Great customer service and lovely food and drink at the bar area and also in the Bertrams restaurant.
Negative experience: Tried to ring for two days to book but the phone just rang and nobody answered. How are you supposed to book when you can’t even answer your phone!
Fantastic experience: Doesnt look big on entering but lots to do and very relaxing. Great day.
Fantastic experience: Total relaxation! Excellent massage. Spa restaurant has 2 Rosette awards.
Fantastic experience: Went for a spa day, plus lunch. Food was truly amazing, as were the spa facilities. Will be back again very soon!
Fantastic experience: The Twilight Session was amazing, allowing 3.5 hours of spa time and total relaxation. The facilities are fantastic and so many different elements to experience in the spa. All guests were respectful of each other which allowed us to enjoy it even more. Looking forward to returning soon!
Fantastic experience: We love a little evening spa here. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the range of facilities. I love their newly improved outdoor green area with fire pits right next to the bar. And the tranquility quiet area is just what you need when you are having a cheeky few hours away from the kids.
Positive experience: Lovely setting and awesome staff. So could possibly be a little bigger and an outdoor hot tub/heated pool area would be an amazing addition
Negative experience: Cold pools, reserved loungers and a tranquil pool that could have been mistaken for a knocking shop! Very poor for a spa of this standard. They said it was cold so the pools outside were cooler than they should be . Not sure if they have winter in Burnley every year? It would make sense to turn the heating up and provide the customer what they pay for. Customer services not bothered. Please avoid at all costs, you'll get much better experiences elsewhere.
Positive experience: Work event. Great food and service. Good pricing. Little unsure of the decor.
Fantastic experience: Felt like it's been recently refurbished. Staff were friendly and professional. Great for Crow Wood Hall stay and restaurants too.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant spa day staff very professional and friendly every where was clean and tidy
Negative experience: AVOID! A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I wish I could give no stars. DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT VOUCHERS FROM THIS COMPANY! After years of custom we always thought this place was great, but after a gift voucher we purchased went missing in the post we are told that there’s nothing they can do due to their terms and conditions…incredibly disappointed in the current climate at this frankly DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. Clearly your T&Cs need looking at as does your management of customers in this situation as we’ve been left saddened by your unhelpful and robotic response. How on Earth you wouldn’t be able to locate an unused voucher via the original sales receipt in this day and age is beyond me. After reading other reviews it seems I’m not the only one who has had issues with their voucher policy.
Positive experience: Posh spa with many nice touches. Just a bit limited in variety for the high price. There's just 4 snall spa's, two wet and two dry. The outdoor area is nice though.
Fantastic experience: My favourite spa to visit. So many lovely pools and rooms. Always so clean and well maintained. Definitely worth a visit
Positive experience: The spa is lovely but a little too busy. Last time we loved the tranquility room but people in there were talking loudly even though it says please be quiet. The restaurant and food were amazing.
Negative experience: Really nice, but weird entrance. You walk in from the side and have to walk past everything to get to the main reception. Very odd layout and poor signage. But such a lovely spa! Don't buy vouchers though, because if you lose it, then you don't get your money back and have to pay again. Proper rip off, most places have a reference number, and the voucher is just a token because it's registered to an email address or account but not here. I lost my voucher and had to pay again on arrival, and it wasn't worth double money.
Fantastic experience: Booked in for the divine signature comfort spa day, the customer service here is top tier, beautiful facilities and lovely food. Our spa day includes tea/ coffee and a pastry, use of the thermal suites, 2 course lunch and drink in the restaurant, the rasul mud experience and a massage. Laura and Emma did mine and my partners massages, and we both agreed it’s the best experience we have ever had. Would highly recommend this spa to everyone and next time we will be booking into the hotel after as we were so relaxed we didn’t want to leave
Negative experience: We chose the thermal experience day and also had the Rasul Mud Ritual. The spa boasts that it’s set in 100 acres of the most magnificent Lancashire countryside but unfortunately you can’t see any of it from within the spa facilities, the exception being from Bertram’s restaurant - this is such a shame that all the views are blocked from you. The main area - hydro pool I think it was called, was so noisy and bright in there that it wasn’t a spa like experience at all - more like a big jacuzzi at your local gym. The saunas and steam rooms were good but generally speaking the spa needs refreshing - the paint is peeling, there is rust, cracked ceilings and it could do being revitalised. The relaxation room was lovely and peaceful, but the loungers that are set out there aren’t comfortable. In comparison to other spas in the same price range, this was the worst unfortunately. If you’re going to go, the Rasul Mud Ritual is very enjoyable and worth the extra bit of money. The general feel was busy and that it suits hen parties/big groups wanting to be quite loud and have some drinks and a good time. It didn’t quite suit two people looking to actually unwind and relax.
Fantastic experience: I’ve visited twice now. Both times for the twilight session with a friend. This is really good value, the entire place is spotlessly clean and everything is high spec and well presented. We loved the outdoor hot tubs and infinity pool. Watched the day turn to night. We ate in the tapas bar which is quick and reasonably priced. Lovely cocktails and some fire pits but they are super popular so get a little busy. The changing rooms and facilities are beautiful with nice quality products available for free. Parking is plentiful and free. The restaurant is also gorgeous. Staff are all friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. We will defo be back, hoping for an overnighter at some point
Fantastic experience: Went for a twilight spa experience for my birthday treat. The place is clean and tidy. The ladies locker room was huge with lots of dressing tables with hair dryers. Plenty of showers available. The spa area was lovely and we added the mud rasul too. That was a great treatment for myself and my partner. It's self applied but you have exclusive use of the steam /shower room. Plenty of outdoor loungers and I enjoyed relaxing in the robe with a drink. Don't forget to bring flip flops or pool shoes. Drinks were reasonably priced buy we did not eat there so can't comment on that. Staff were fantastic and helpful. We had a great time.
Fantastic experience: What an amazing day out!! The spa is very clean, staff are down to earth, helpful and friendly. Wasn't the warmest of days but it really didn't matter sat in the outdoor hot tub . The food was gorgeous very well presented ... I had the Cumberland sausage and mash and my friend had the chicken salad, both dishes were full of flavour. Pudding we had sticky toffee pudding . We paid a bit extra for the mud treatment which lasts about 30 mins. The relaxation area was lovely .. I have nothing negative to say about this place at all and can't wait to return. We didn't try the tapas or the cocktails this time but definitely will in future
Positive experience: Excellent spa, they have made a few updates and there is building work for some more substantial ones.
Fantastic experience: Came here with my mum and we had a lovely relaxing day together with treatments and food- my only food complaint is that the two tiny pastries that came as part of the day in the morning was a let down- at least should have been a large croissant or something else. Lunch was good. Had the most amazing massage I have ever had! Loved the spa facilities and we left floating. Will come back.
Fantastic experience: Amazing 5* service all round the food in the bistro is unreal and Rudolph really went out of his way to provide excellent service in the hotel you can tell how passionate he is about his job and he is a really credit to your team alone with all the other staff throughout ! The massage I received was also amazing 10/10 breakfast was TO DIE FOR !
Fantastic experience: I have been coming here since it opened and although the prices seem to get higher everytime I go, I have still yet to find a spa in the uk that beats this one.
Fantastic experience: Always a great place to go. The facilities are excellent, the staff a lovely. What more could you want from a spa. Bertrums restaurant serves excellent food
Fantastic experience: Definitely worth a visit.. went for my birthday and enjoyed a lovely spa day including croissants on arrival.. then 2 treatments and then a meal in berties restraunt.. then some how they discovered it was my birthday and brought out a brownie with a big candle in and all started signing.. highly embarrassed but so nice of them to do... we made a full day of it then late afternoon had the mud bath which was really good then enjoyed a few cocktails and some tapas.. staff are really friendly and good facilities.
Fantastic experience: We had a visit from Australia, and our family treated us to a spa day! What a fantastic place to relax and eat. Would highly recommend it to anyone, especially if you're just visiting
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing day here yesterday, relaxed atmosphere pristine cleanliness, all staff smiling and friendly. Lovely food and service. Booking again soon for a group of us.
Fantastic experience: Went for the thermal day spa package with a group of friends. The facilities were great; all spa areas clean and welcoming. The restaurant staff were so obliging, especially by helping with the table decorations for the 40th birthday and how friendly they were. Changing rooms were spotlessly clean and I loved that there were separate areas to dry your hair and get ready. My favourite was the serenity pool where you could drift off in peace & calm.
Positive experience: Excellent customer service. Excellent facilities despite the Sauna being closed, there were enough rooms and pools to still feel like you had a great experience. Outdoor facilities are great. Cocktails are a win with top shelf liquor. The tapas looked really nice. A huge plus of this spa is not having a time slot as you could quite easily spend a day here sitting by the pool and eating at the restaurant. It was difficult to find the entrance to however which is why this review has 4 stars instead of 5. This may be due to the level of building work being done, we didn’t mind however because we got a complimentary £10 voucher to spend at the spa on a couple of cocktails for our troubles which was u expected but thoroughly enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: Have been here many times and always love it. The spa is the best I've been to in the North West. The staff are brilliant, the treatments are amazing and it's just perfect. The food and cocktails onsite are also spot on, especiallybas I'm gluten free. Just a little gutted the Tapas bar is no longer gf.
Negative experience: This was our third time here and sadly it will be our last time I think. We have loved this place in the past but now it has become more like a leisure centre. It’s filthy! Cobwebs everywhere in the outside terrace, jacuzzis with scum line that you could scratch off with your nail, windows filthy. Sunbeds are no where near as comfy as they were. They were really thick and luxurious now something that you could buy from B&m, cheap. We got three cups of tea at the end of our day and got brought curdled milk, when we asked if it could be changed the girl said “it’s been doing that every bottle I’ve opened” why bring us it like that then? There’s no body wash in the men’s showers shampoo only. Bertram’s wasn’t great either but I’ll leave that review on there food has gone down hill. With the price increase from £80 to £106 you’d have think they would have improved the place but it’s gone the opposite way
Positive experience: Lovely spa. Lots of hot tub/pool options and steam and sauna room. Only negative point is there is extremely limited food options if you are on an evening spa session, the tapas is £10 per dish. So even if you have just a bowl of potatoes it’s £10! Very overpriced food, would be great to have more options at better value.
Positive experience: Facilities are lovely. It was very busy when I stayed. The staff are all very nice. Had a massage which was wonderful. The food and drink are overpriced.
Fantastic experience: Came here with my mum, the facilities are amazing - so many thermal options, and there's also an outdoor pool for when you want to cook off a little. The experience showers are also fantastic. We had a meal here too and the food was lovely!!
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the spa to everyone. We had such a relaxing time, great atmosphere everyone was friendly. Followed by a lovely dinner in the restaurant after.
Fantastic experience: Had a brilliant day , so relaxing. In a jacuzzi outside in the snow , blue sky was so cool . First time massage the lady took good care of me she asked me questions made me feel at ease so good. Feel so relaxed thank you to all the staff so friendly couldn't do enough for you thank you
Fantastic experience: Love woodland for special occasions. Lovely and relaxing
Fantastic experience: An absolutely amazing spa day from the moment we walked in the therapist was very helpful and attentive. The spa facilities were clean and lovely and so many different experiences to go through. The outside area was lovely too and warm in the Jacuzzi (we went in February). We also enjoyed the mud rasul too and would highly recommend. We had the spa day with lunch and food was so filling and lovely too. Thank you for an amazing day
Fantastic experience: Booked the Woodlands Spa as was staying at the Crow Wood Hotel, we did the twilight experience as we did a walk round pendle hill and then a 3 course lunch at nearby Country pub so we didn't need dinner as the twlight was 5:30 till 9. The spa is lovely despite the ongoing building work which you couldn't tell was being done except for using the entrance through the restaurant to access the spa. All the different thermal experiences where just what we needed after a long walk up a hill. There was plenty to do outside too and would be lovely through the day in the summer as the outdoor pool was too cold to go in but the hot tubs where great in the cold weather. The bar was nice to sit in and we had a couple of cocktails each but we did think these was slightly overpriced at £15each for some of them. I would go again but only as a treat or celebration.
Positive experience: This is my third time at the spa . The previous two occasions were prior to the new hotel, where we stayed this time . The spa is superb and spotlessly clean with beautiful facilities . The only downside is the fact that it is oversubscribed . Too many people were using the spa and this meant we could not make full use of the facilities . The food was superb and reasonably priced and your staff are all extremely courteous and attentive. On a final point the 100 pounds deposit for each room was taken from my account and my friend who shared the other room but has not yet resurfaced into our accounts. . I would definitely stay again but not at the weekend as it was just too packed . You also need to remind guests that if they want to get intimate in the spa that it’s best they just return to their room . Twice in the tranquility area we just walked out as it was just not what we wanted to see .
Fantastic experience: My sisters, mum and a couple of friends (8 of us) stayed for the day, overnight at Crow Wood and can honestly say was the best time of our lives, was a fantastic couple of days and would definitely return, was a fantastic experience and am looking forward to doing it again x
Fantastic experience: The best spa ever! Staff are all So lovely and polite to 100% wouldn’t book anywhere else than here
Positive experience: Good spa if you need a day of relaxation. Might be a smidgen expensive. Had an hour massage aswell. There's just something weird about spa massage therapists, it always feels like they are smearing oil on you rather than actually giving a massage. I'm yet to experience a good massage at a spa, even tho it feels nice to be oiled up sometimes. If you need actual massage for clearing up muscles I recommend thai massages. The facility is good, not to big and didn't feel overly crowded, several different pools and saunas to choose from and also an outdoor pool which was nice in the winter. We ate food at the restaurant which was very good, delicious food and felt really full after. Had the rasul mud bath also, was fun. They give you a platter of different muds to put on your body and you sit and chill in a steam bath. All in all I give 4,5 stars Would probably go again
Negative experience: POOR! DONT BUY A VOUCHER FOR HERE A £90 voucher bought as a present at the start of 2020 couldn't be used during 2020 as they were closed during covid. I spoke to someone who advised that the 2 year validity of the voucher would be extended as it couldn't be used. Ive tried to use it since, and within 2 years of reopening but now "the voucher isn't valid". Amazing how they would rather steal £90 when I would most likely spend twice that on top of the voucher just to keep £90. Very poor customer service and shocking to steal vouchers value.
Fantastic experience: We arrived at the spa on Friday evening and was made to feel so welcome with a young lady name Amy , she went through all the treatments , we decided on the mud treatment , it was amazing . The lady looking after us at the treatment brought us water , totally went over and above helping us : we had the best evening , many thanks for your beautiful facilities and look forward to my next one , we are so lucky to have this on our doorstep x many thanks Michelle x
Fantastic experience: The Spa experience was great, the mud treatment is a must. However, the evening meal was amazing. If you get the chance, do both!
Fantastic experience: Fabulous place. Perfect for a birthday treat or any occasion. We did not book any treatments but still had an amazing time using all the facilities.
Positive experience: It was nice for a local treat and im planning to go again with my partner for my birthday but ive been to better spas like the outdoor pool was cold which let it down since it was not inviting at all especially after being in the hot tubs and there were cobwebs all over the outdoor area and dead plants which considering it was late spring it should be maintained and one thing that niggled me so much i took a picture and messaged it to my friend asking if it bothers her as much as it does me is they didnt align the stairs and lights. Seemed quite a strange thing to overlook but the sensory pool was great. Spent most of my time there and probably will this time too unless its crowded.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't fault anything at all about this spa. The welcome and reception staff we're lovely, the food was delicious and the treatments by Emma and Lauren for myself and my husband were exceptional. Many thanks for a lovely day
Fantastic experience: Amazing place for relax with friends or family.
Fantastic experience: Lovely. Super relaxing. We visited during the twilight session and had a fantastic time
Fantastic experience: Thank you to all the staff at the Spa and Bertram’s Restaurant today (1.12.2022). It was a surprise for my Mums 80th birthday and we had an amazing day. Lots of laughter and the staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough. And what a lovely surprise at the end of the delicious meal at Bertram’s, with a firework happy birthday desert for Mum! You ended the day perfectly. Thank you ☺️
Positive experience: Just be aware some alterations going on and Take care to have Spa footwear as mantinance people walking through with out door shoes etc and all around the pools getting soiled and slippy !
Fantastic experience: I took my daughter and son to the Woodland Spa, Burnley as a treat for us all before my son starts chemotherapy treatment again. When booking the staff were caring and considerate. My son requires disabled access and every effort was made to make our trip easier and an enjoyable experience. We all absolutely loved our twilight experience as it wasn't as busy as it had been on previous visits during the day. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and made sure our visit was enjoyable, easy and memorable. Thank you all for a lovely evening.
Fantastic experience: Very very clean. Really nice staff. Even though they were sold out of spaces for the day, it never felt crowded - there was always a space- except maybe around the fire pit! All the amenities provided. We didn't feel like we wanted for anything the whole time we were there.
Fantastic experience: Amazing spa, loved the mud treatment there was a variety of indoor and outdoor pools. The staff were very helpful and friendly the views were stunning whilst eating beautifully food. We had the best day celebrating my sisters special birthday.
Fantastic experience: Great place lovely staff and amazing food with lovely spa facilities
Fantastic experience: We booked a special treat for our wedding anniversary with an overnight stay , spa day . Amazing facilities , spotlessly clean , very friendly & helpful staff . Lovely lunch in the Tapas bar & a great meal in Wilfred’s restaurant in the evening followed by a fab breakfast the following morning . Will definitely be back . Many thanks to all. Dave & Wendy
Negative experience: Great place but not good for vegan / vegetarian meal in main Restaursnt . Booked a 2 course meal and if you want a starter and main there are no vegan/ veggie starters . Have a menu in bar area which they would not let me choose from. Not even able to get a soup and sandwich as there were no sandwiches for veggies !!
Positive experience: COFFEE AND HOT FLUSHES…………. Today was my second visit to the spa and I also stayed at the hotel twice last year. My experience of both on each occasion has been outstanding! The staff are polite and efficient. The food is excellent. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. To most people I suppose my little niggle will be unimportant but given the hotel and spa have such high standards why does all the coffee come out of push button machines??? - not good enough! My other niggle is the changing rooms. On my last visit I went back to the hotel room to shower and change after using the spa. We visited for the day today and we were eating in Bertrums. I can honestly say that the hour I spent in the changing rooms getting ready for dinner cancelled out the five hours of relaxation in the spa. Come on Woodland Spa do your bit for us menopausal women, we really can’t dry our hair and apply makeup in a sauna like environment………..
Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed our twilight spa experience, it was absolutely amazing. The whole evening was so calm and relaxing. Caroline who greeted us was so helpful and attentive! The spa is very clean and spotless. Food and drinks in the terrace bar was lovely. Will definitely visit soon !
Fantastic experience: Saturday the 3rd of September,We had afternoon tea & spar experience.Absolutely fantastic.Such a wonderful treat & so clean .The afternoon tea was delicious & the tapas at The spa was amazing.
Fantastic experience: We had the best time at the woodland spa today, the food was gorgeous, the spa was beautiful and I had the best massage I’ve ever had. Thank you so much. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: This is the best spa I have ever been to! I came here the day before I got married and then booked in for the day after. Each day was simply amazing and nowhere else compares to this spa! I would highly recommend the Tapas food too as it was absolutely delicious! I will definitely be coming here again!
Negative experience: Would give zero stars if I could. Like many other customers, The Woodland Spa have refused to honour my gift card. Purchased in July 2020, I lost several months to use the card due to covid restrictions. I’ve come to book my spa day only to find that it expired just six days previous. Whilst the staff have been polite, the absolute nonsensical response from the MD is infuriating. I will no longer take my business here based on the unfair and frankly outrageous lack of customer dedication in light of the unprecedented covid restrictions.
