Positive experience: Below par. No cloths or spray to clean machines down. Showers have no temperature regulation so some either don't run properly or run ice cold. Plenty of equipment but one of two spin bikes is broken and there are quite a few ceiling lights out. Would not recommend over pure gym.
Negative experience: If you like the internet don’t go here. Never works and don’t think they care really. The gym has become more empty in recent years to no surprise. Sometimes people (same ones constantly) come in as a 2 when obviously paying for one membership. At times certain staff have seen this and just laughed with them about it. Sadly, if it was me I would be kicked out.

Positive experience: It's ok. The team don't really care much about the changing facilities. Most of the male showers are either broken or it's like been peed on. Hardly any flow. The showers stink of wee. There has been a hole in the wall were somone had punched it. For weeks. The equipment is OK. But I feel they lack leadership.

Fantastic experience: Great place to workout...can either choose to workout alone, join a class or use a personal trainer. Adrianna is great as a PT, pushes you but understands your limits and Micheal does a great class on Sunday morning for ladies who want to learn how to use the weight machines.
Fantastic experience: Have been training with Adri and it's been great! The gym is always kept in good condition, everyone is minding their business, our locker room is always well kept....I don't have any complaints really
Negative experience: Nothing like it used to be sadly, although there is a range of different basic equipment it’s very tired and equipment is regularly out of order without any speed in getting repaired. For example the 1 smith machine has been out of action for a good 3 weeks and counting. Serious lack of bumper plates and platforms (uneven at that) but then again the new ‘management’ seem so focused on buying mats and more cardio equipment that it comes as no surprise. Been going here for about 5 years now and it’s changed and not for the better. Regularly is it messy and rubbish left all around the gym. No policing of plates being put back etc. One thing it has going for it is that members are friendly, in all my time there I’ve not seen anyone behaving poorly with the community all being respectful.

Fantastic experience: I just love this gym! I’ve subscribed to gyms in the past that didn’t seem to click for me. But this one, within a few weeks, was my gym ‘home’! Great facilities and range of equipment, and even on busy days where there are 90 plus people using the gym, there is still loads of space. The staff are amazing and run really good classes. And if that wasn’t enough the price is the cheapest I’ve found - currently just £22 for 24/7 access. Brilliant!

Positive experience: Moved to this gym after moving into the area in November. Has the facilities I need but the gym is in need of maintenance or a refurb. Some machines feel old and unstable, the water fountain is slow and it just all feels a bit run down! It works for me for the convenience but compared to my previous gym at The Gym Group Shirley, I do feel that this gym could use some work.

Fantastic experience: Nice environment. Great classes. The toilet is also always clean . Overall, it is a lovely place for me to exercise and socialize after a stressful day at work.

Negative experience: Some equipment needs abit of TLC. At peak times they run fitness classes that close off a large part of the gym, if you’re a female or not very confident in lifting weights it’s not the place to go. Free weight area is always rammed and the men just barge past you. The little area I can go to lift weights 9 times out of 10 has a class init. If I was to do a class I wouldn’t bother as you have to do it in-front of the entire gym at peak times. Not really worth the money I can never get on what I want.

Fantastic experience: I only joined the gym just over a month ago. I was made to feel very welcome by Dale the manager, Magda is also very friendly and welcoming. As someone who suffers with server depression and anxiety I have found the gym very relaxing which is a massive help. I love how clean the gym is, I have not seen or experienced equipment lying around. If this is the case, that is purely down to members being lazy and not putting equipment back after they have used it. I also love the fact that when you ask someone to show you how to use the equipment they not only explain how to use they make sure you are using it the right way also. I think we are very lucky to have such an amazing gym on our doorstep. It might have only been a month but I am very proud to use and be a member of this gym. Thank you staff for making me feel so welcome.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Positive experience: Good equipment, slow repairs on anything there. Not to friendly environment but not staff or company's fault they are great. It's just two guys, both just always stare and giigle when I do my leg physio and just make a great gym go to a low mid gym

Negative experience: It has now been over 3 weeks that the Yanga water machine and water fountain next to it have been out of order. Also WiFi has been down for over 2 weeks to. Why pay for a premium gym package when basic facilities are out of order?

Negative experience: Returned to The Gym after using PURE for the last few years. Wish I hadn't, QR codes to get in don't work. Water fountains and the premium water machine out of order and seem to have been for some time. The place has a rundown feeling to it, like no one's invested in it in years. In need of some serious TLC, I'm told other branches like the segensworth one are much better so I think thaley need to get in line with those. Will be going back to PURE after my month is up. Very disappointing.

Negative experience: I would like to rate this gym 5 stars but unfortunately I can’t as they seem to appear not to care about customer safety or the security of their possessions! A few mornings ago at approx 05:55 myself and a fellow female gym goer was witness to two armed and masked scumbags grinding the lock off a bike which was locked in the gyms foyer, the lady was obviously fairly shaken, I shouted and chased them but was just a bit too late and they escaped one on the stolen bike and another on a motorbike, with one of them threatening to “cut me open bruv”. This could easily be avoided if the gym bothered to close the main entrance doors at night and utilise the PIN code system fitted!! I have emailed The Gym Group personally with no reply! Come on you make enough money out of us you could at least attempt to look after our safety and security, after this month I’ll be cancelling my subscription and moving to a gym that’s safer, this place is a serious incident waiting to happen!!! I’m sure they will come out with some rubbish about using my feedback to improve, guarantee nothing happens though.

Negative experience: My experience was poor Small gym, always busy and poor customer service. Positive side is next door to me & always clean. Now I go to pure gym in bitterne, which is twice as far and more expensive but much bigger gym.

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym, lots of machines and equipment to use, I've never seen it completely full and there's always space available. Great classes to attend with very helpful and supportive staff. There are showers and toilets and water filling stations. Parking outside for 3 hours

Fantastic experience: Really friendly & approachable staff, the facilities are excellent, a really enjoyable gym experience. All the members are also really friendly & supportive.
Fantastic experience: The staff are all friendly, there's always someone cleaning, there's a decent mix of equipment for all ability levels. KFC opposite the carpark. Pretty much a perfect gym.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the gym for 6 years. It has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The staff are great and willing to help in any way. The gym is well equipped and always clean. There is more than enough room and equipment, even for the kind of training I do, which requires a lot of equipment. Fantastic experience: A friendly Gym, staff always on hand to help. A wide range of equipment available to use for all types of workouts, from beginners to professional. Could do with a bit more floor space for body weight work outs, as when there is a class on, space becomes extremely limited for that. Options to find a pt for private training. I did and it’s the best thing I ever did. Overall the gym is perfect for all my needs.
