Fantastic experience: Have been training at the gym for over 5 years now, great atmosphere, equipment and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Best place to train in Dorchester!
Positive experience: It's the best gym in Dorchester. But that's not saying a lot! I have trained at 30+ gyms all over the place in the last 12 months so have a good idea of what's out there. The good stuff: OK selection of kit, plenty of plates, never overly busy, clean toilets and showers, dumbells up to 60kg, squat racks and lifting platforms (although one of them is dented which is actually pretty sketchy if you're trying to heavy deadlift and suddenly the bar twists because one side rolled into the dip). The bad stuff: inflexible memberships so no friends or guest passes, no day / week / month temp memberships. Quiet, chilled music and carpeted floor gives a weird office vibe. Kit is a bit cramped. Overall it does the job. It's got enough kit and you can definitely train and make progress here. It just feels a bit like a repurposed office without any soul.

Fantastic experience: I visit a lot of the AF gyms in the south of England and this one is brilliant. Lovely building, great well maintained equipment and the staff are mega. I really enjoyed my time there and couldn’t recommend it more. A shout out in particular to staff member Joseph, he was very welcoming.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym with really friendly staff. There are lots of classes, and I like that they are held in separate rooms away from the main gym area. I love the layout of the equipment. The well-being appointments with Cailin are great, and she gives you fitness advice and a workout schedule to suit your health goals - and I’ve definitely had good results. I have tried other gyms previously, but found this one to be the best with a friendly atmosphere and clean equipment.

Positive experience: It's a great place , clean , spatious and has a separate room only for girls that has all it's need for who want's to do theyre workout not in front of everyone . But a minus for the whole membership thing. It's bad that this membership is done by contract with different standard months . For those who are not sure how long will they be around it's not an indicate membership as you need to wait the contract period to end for cancelation. I compare this with many others gym that I have been at that I canceled subscription anytime I wanted without being asked to explain and prove why , ofcoure with at least 3-5 days before billing day . Telling all that more like maybe a future improvement ,Maybe who know, it will be considerate the cancelation in a different way . For me who I didn't stayed long around, this memberahip was not the great choice. For who is around, it's worth it, the place is really great . And has a lot of thigs to work with

Fantastic experience: Did my well-being appointment with Cailin, really helped me get started in the gym, had no idea what to do for my goals and she really helped me understand how to workout specific to my goals, service is amazing, rest of the team so lovely always say hello when you walk in, love the vibe went I go the gym here! Fantastic experience: I recently signed up for personal training with one of the PT’s at the gym. Cailin has been amazing. From the start she has reassured me and guide me with a program that is perfect for my goals, to strengthen my ankle and lose weight while gaining fitness and strength. I was really nervous in the beginning but with Cailin's help and knowledge I am feeling more confident and motivated. She is honestly wonderful with such a warm personality. I recommend her as a personal trainer for anyone considering this option. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Positive experience: Great gym with high quality equipment, the staff in there are lovely too. Only downside is the cancellation policy, be very aware when signing up that you can only cancel if you move 15 miles away from any Anytime Fitness gym (you need to provide proof of address), if you have a permanent serious injury (you need to provide a doctors note) or if you get made redundant which you also need to prove. If I had read the small print before signing up I would have probably gone somewhere with a better cancellation policy! Like I said the gym is great though and I have had no problems on that side of things!
Hi Harry, Thank you for sharing. There are many options to allow people to move on, some of which you have highlighted. We also allow members to freeze their membership as an alternative option. We aim to be flexible and have recently introduced a flexible monthly rolling option.

Fantastic experience: Well equiped gym, loads of room and good layout with different areas to workout. Apart from there are only two squat racks and on smith all in one little area, had to wait for a good while until squat rack was free to use.

Negative experience: This gym doesn’t do pay as you go sessions. Furthermore, you apparently need to purchase 6 months minimum of membership in order to lift there. Staff at the door was pretty rude and unsympathetic. Unless you plan to go to this gym long term don’t even waste your time, and even then there are better options in other towns around. Had high hopes for a good training session while on holiday but left very disappointed.
Dear Josh, Not quite sure why this warrants a low review. We are proud to be a member only club and are upfront with our membership options. Given our USP we focus on building community and have limited spaces as we cap our membership to ensure member satisfaction
Negative experience: The gym in general is fine but they were not very helpful when I wanted to cancel my membership. I messaged them on Facebook the 29th of September and then the 4th of October to the email they gave me but they told me I had to pay for November because they need one month's notice. I don't think this is fair because they knew I wanted to cancel the membership and I can't go in the whole month because I have changed jobs and I don't have the time or energy anymore. I won't recommend this gym to anyone again. I lost my temper talking with them by phone and I apologize for that but still I don't think they were right.

Hi Nikki, Thank you for the review. we are one of the lager Anytime Fitness within the UK, however as we are a members only club with capped membership helps the club from becoming overcrowded and have access 24/7 allows you to work around your schedule where it may be quite.
Fantastic experience: A great gym. It's a bit daunting to commit up-front to 6 months membership, and the cancellation policy isn't as good as PureGym or the like, but it's well worth it. The gym itself is well equipped for weight lifting and the price is fair.

As you can imagine it’s been hard year and will take time for members to find the best time to workout and initial all rushing back to what they have missed. Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, friendly, nice sized, very clean. All the equipment is there for the exercises people wish to do. They have plenty of cleaning facilities which I have used, which do the job. You get discount on your membership if you work for an organisation. I really missed going there doing the lockdown period.

Positive experience: Nice little gym with enough to get done what you need to. Very pricey though for what you get. Made up I got a half price deal as I’d of been a bit disappointed paying the full whack as it is a £20 gym and not a £40pcm (£35 on 12 months)

Positive experience: Good location and great equipment, but unfortunately the customer service is poor and not very friendly. I think the manager needs training when it comes to dealing with customer’s, and needs to be bit more friendly.

Positive experience: Fantastic equipment, free town parking, and fancy individual showers. But very expensive; and staff were unprofessionally unfriendly to me when I had to cancel my plan due to a covid-19 related job loss. Additionally, I've been in once when the antibac wipe dispensers have all been empty, which is unsatisfactory during a virus pandemic. But if you have the money and are planning on having a lifetime subscription then yeah this is a great gym with comparatively luxurious showers and toilets.

I can assure you we pride ourselves on delivering a high standard of service, to match the high end equipment and environment we have created. We are pleased to hear that you found the facilities and equipment high quality. Due to the unforeseen circumstances and as a independent small business we felt that freezing memberships would help our members during this difficult period. Now that we are open have taken extra measures to ensure the club is clean and safe with extra cleaning stations, on the hour cleaning with staff cleaning in between along with members doing their bit to keep themselves safe.

Fantastic experience: amazing facilities, always amazing extras..today I walked in and there’s a fridge full of free watercress to help yourself to! Always clean, amazing classes and helpful staff. Always struggled with motivation for the gym but I look forward to going daily now! Free parking, loooovely showers and hair dryers/straighteners! Plus local discounts too if you show your key fob!

Fantastic experience: Been to a couple of gyms around Dorset, but Anytime Dorchester is by far the best! Staff are super helpful and supportive, and the gym is always clean and tidy! A great place to workout!

Fantastic experience: Convenient Gym for me, and a bonus that its clean with new equipment. Staff always happy to help. I use the Personal training services and have noticed such a difference. Its the longest ive kept with the gym, and know i will continue as its changed my lifestyle...my eating, cardio and strength all improving! I recommend the gym to anyone!

Positive experience: Clean, friendly, plenty of choice. Private changing/shower facilities which is a good thing when free, bad thing when you have to wait. However, still the best facility in Dorchester, way better than 1610

Negative experience: The gym atmosphere and customer service toward members has declined since the last manager Fern left. The new manager needs training in customer service and how to communicate respectfully and courteously with 'ALL' members even with the basics of a simple hello. Huge shame as the facilities and the rest of the staff team are great.

Fantastic experience: I first joined Anytime Fitness in November of 2017. I started doing the Zumba classes just to ease myself into the idea of going. After 2 months of just doing Zumba and seeing slight changes, I felt I could do more and improve myself even more than I would with just doing Zumba, so I joined a couple more classes. After getting used to the instructors and the idea of “gym is a great way to let go of stress and become a better person than I was yesterday”, it became a habit of going and felt awkward when I wasn’t able to go. Now I look back and I am so thankful for all the motivation and support the instructors have given me, as I am now 15kgs lighter, not yet where I want to be, but definitely a lot closer than I was. Everyday is a new day to make an improvement and better yourself. Can’t wait to see the results, and even when I see results, I know that there is another way I can always improve! Looking forward to the next few months!

Negative experience: Poor management and customer care - would not cancel my account even when I am moving 30 miles away and gave over 1 months notice.
Dear N, we can only apologise for what you feel is poor management of dealing with your cancelation. Our staff are just following what is written in the T&Cs. Unfortunately a verbal notice is not efficient and we require at least 1 calendar month's written notice along with proof of new address such as utility or council tax bill to be provided at the same time as the written notice of termination. Hope this helps

Positive experience: Nice gym, but could do with a few more cardio machines - only 4 treadmills and gets pretty busy at peak times.
