Positive experience: Getting way too packed. By carrying on letting people join at the expense of long term members it's just pure greed for more money. If you want to carry on letting more people join then please do an extension build. Also the mens changing rooms are way too small and there always seems to be some group of boys sitting in there just talking nonsense

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym. I’ve been going 4 days a week for just over 6 months. The staff really do make this gym the place it is. I can’t rate them highly enough. They are always so friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. I was really anxious about joining a gym, but everyone is so lovely have given me lots of good advice and support that has really helped my fitness journey. I never feel uncomfortable or anxious to be there (which I am in most places).There is a very good range of equipment. The e gym is amazing as I don’t have to worry about adjusting the machines and weights and can just get on with my workout. The changing rooms are very spacious and there is even a sauna in there. There is also a vending machine with energy drinks, protein bars/shakes, which I think is a great idea in case you are running a bit low on energy. I have never been to one of the classes, but they look really fun.

Positive experience: Good gym overall, however there are WAY too many people for the capacity offered. Today I went to the gym, and every bench/machine/treading mill … you name it was taken. The worse feeling ever is being unable to do absolutely anything. If this persists I will probably change gym, it ruins my whole workout motivation wise and plan wise. However, the staff is really nice and they do offer some very good stretching classes.

Fantastic experience: When Sports Direct Hove shut their doors on members & Staff in November 2022, I did a lot of checking for a viable replacement and changed gyms to Adapt. I wish I had done so years ago. Equipment is first class; staff are friendly, helpful, and most importantly there is a sauna. Another bonus is the members (all I have seen or had dealings with) are friendly normal and human. Finally, well done to Wes the owner for running a well-equipped and laid out gym without charging silly prices. Highly recommended. Update September 2023 - Still a top gym & great atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Ive been a member here for 8 weeks now and I have to say it’s the best gym I’ve trained at. I’ve been using the RED membership which has been so good as you get the gym membership plus access to the classes and the small group personal training classes, it has kept me consistent and I’m lifting heavier and better than I ever have. I’ve lost weight, gained muscle and feel happier and healthier in general. The whole team here are so supportive and great and you get a real sense of community. I can’t recommend enough. Bonus review… the coffee machine is amazing too

Positive experience: Moved to Adapt from one of the big chain gyms. Pros: 1. More of a "community" feel. 2. Decent selection of equipment 3. Sauna is a nice plus. Cons: 1. Slightly overpriced. 2. Grotty changing rooms/showers. Need to be cleaned more regularly and drains unblocked. 3. Functional areas are always being used by PTs. Sometimes only one PT in there using the whole space. Would be nice to use that space more often for the amount of money paid. Often don't have enough room to do my plyometrics. Overall a decent gym but can be great with some tweaks.

Negative experience: Very difficult to cancel. I phoned adapt fitness to cancel my membership 2 weeks before my payment. Despite them not having an email address in their website, I was told I had to email in my request to cancel rather than phone. I then emailed the address given by the man on the phone. I got no ‘message delivery failure’ email, so I assumed it had delivered and I could get on with my busy life. Much to my horror, 2 weeks later, the money for my membership is taken. I phone adapt again and they say that I’ve typed the wrong email address, their member of staff could not possibly have misread it, it is all my fault this has happened. The customer service there was very poor and unapologetic. I asked to raise a complaint and was told someone would be in touch, but that was over two weeks ago and I don’t hold out much hope for them bothering to get back to me. I also had to email two or three times to even get confirmation of my cancellation. This could have been avoided with something as simple as having their email address on their website. The gym itself is OK, but not worth being ripped off for. It is a shame the sauna isn’t open all the same hours as the gym, and the gym could do with having longer opening hours - especially as it often closes early. I had considered going back to the gym once I have more spare time, but due to this incident I won’t be returning to this gym.

Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic gym. Super friendly, great equipment and brilliant trainers. I am really enjoying the Tribe HIIT classes which are making a huge difference to cardio fitness.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to quite a few gyms in Brighton and Hove over the years. Some are good, some are bad, some are REALLY bad. Adapt is the best I’ve been to, by a mile, and it’s where I’m going to stay. It’s really friendly, welcoming, clean, reasonably priced and has all the equipment you will ever need. The equipment is also really high quality and proper professional, not the bog standard entry level stuff you get in a budget chain. Whether you’re a newbie or an old pro, the gym is perfect for you, and has everything you need to take you on your journey, from the incredible e-gym to the professional grade resistance machines and free weights, to the high quality and accessible classes and the absolutely superb R3D option (which is well worth asking about if you’re a little nervous or anxious about entering a gym for the first time or want to turbo boost your progress with some professional PT support with exercise and nutrition in small friendly supportive groups). Go along, ask for a look around and join. Your only regret will be you didn’t find it years ago.

Fantastic experience: I debated on writing this review as I love this gym so much, it is like discovering a secret place and wanting to keep it to yourself. I must admit it has been a while since being a regular gym goer due to ill health, I dipped my toe back in the gym waters befor covid with a different gym and I must admit it did not help improve my confidence. The staff at adapt are awesome, polite friendly and approachable, the members are also welcoming too. The equipment areas are nicley planned out and the e gym is amazing especially for newbies you are not all crammed in or waiting for equipment as there are plenty of stations to train at. What I love the most is the diversity of members from young to old, fit to working on it and if you are on the working on it spectrum like myself you dont feel self conscious or judged. So if you were like me and procrastinating then you no longer need to, this gym seriously has it all, plus the membership fees are really reasonable and competitive to other gym memberships in Brighton and Hove.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, new equipment and extra benefit of a sauna. Very friendly and attentive reception staff. The gym owner Wes is really nice and cares about having well kept equipment and clean environment. I started with some PT sessions with Adam and he is great and very knowledgeable, he explains things to me well and made a balanced weekly workout plan for me. Best gym I’ve been to!

Negative experience: Staff are very rude, they won’t even bother about costumers, seriously won’t recommend this gym

Positive experience: Most of the staff are very nice just the PTs who think they have free reign over the customers of the gym had a pt come straight to my face today and once I answered a question he said ‘ that’s not the question I was asking’ aggressively. The opening hours are very short compared to other cheaper gyms for £30 a month you’d expect the gym to stay open to at least 10pm on weekends. The equipment is decent nothing you won’t find somewhere else theirs a cold nice garage type room that is supposed to be public but always used by pts with one person in the classes .

Fantastic experience: One of the best, if not the best gyms I’ve used. Having been a member here since January and a gym user for nearly 40 years I can safely say it’s right up there. Why ? Very good facilities, excellent kit, particularly the eGym. The staff are brilliant, professional and friendly. Very good value for money and easily beats their local competitors.

The classes are so much fun, everyone is so friendly and really make an effort to know your name/speak to you, the gym itself is really clean and the equipment is great. I used to feel really intimidated going to the gym but Adapt makes it really welcoming and for everyone. :D

Fantastic experience: Love love love this gym! I’ve been to five different gyms in the Brighton and Hove area but none of them were right for one reason or another - but Adapt ticks all of my boxes! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and approachable if you need help with anything. Also think it’s fantastic Wes has sent regular newsletters over lockdown keeping people up to date. Great range of equipment and strikes the perfect balance between social distancing and accessibility. Plenty of sanitation with sanitiser and sprays dotted around, as well as a regular cleaner. Two of the small gripes I have is sometimes the plates are stuck on a machine (like recently the abductor/adductor) beforehand and I have no idea how to fix them, meaning I skip it. Tbf this is more of a ‘me’ problem of just not knowing, and is usually fixed the next day! Secondly, I’m also fairly sure there’s only one ladies loo so when my preworkout is still settling in (if you know what I mean ) it gets a bit tense when it’s occupied. Anyway, keep up the good work! I’ve actually committed to the gym because of Adapt!

Fantastic experience: It has been a while since I last went here and I didn't have a good experience, but, it looks like they have invested some money into the gym and changing rooms. It is very nice now and the changing rooms are very clean and modern, even though the hooks in the shower area are all falling off ! I was asked to wash my hands and had my temperature taken before I was allowed in. It was nice and quiet when I went so had no problems, but I do think some of the machines could be a bit further away from each other. There was, lots of hand sanitizer and on the walls with wipes for the machines, which is reassuring I would definitely recommend this gym now

Fantastic experience: I've found this to be a great gym - friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. I have been training with Ismael who is very knowledgeable and motivating, and pushes me to work hard each week. I can highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: The PTs are understanding of the situations you may be in like physically and emotionally and that you may turn up, but they will still be a pleause to know. Ismael has been very beneficial in pupushi me to do better and better

Fantastic experience: 4 weeks in to PT sessions with Ismael and im very happy with the way it’s going. He provides sound advise on training and nutrition and he’s always motivating me during the sessions and finding my limits, which is what I need. The results are already coming through!

Positive experience: Was a member of this gym for a short time. The idea was to get to the gym nice and early before work. Whilst I enjoyed the equipment, especially the E-Gym my main gripe was the parking facilities there. Almost every time I got there, there were never any spaces to park. Sounds silly but its not what you want at 6.30 am when you want to get in and start your work out. I think its quite expensive for what they offer. I believe its now gone up to £34.99 a month. I've since joined a competitor for virtually half the price where the equipment is just as good.

You complain and nothing happens Theres a yearly upgrade fee to watch out for and the gym costs have crept up quite quickly over the last year Rubbish parking at busy times They sold the metal weights and went rubber. May as well go for plastic filled.with sand next!!

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and clientele I throughly recommend this gym wether you a beginner or experienced user. I have been going for over a year now and my overall fitness has improved a lot I use the egym equipment they have you use 10 machines which give you a good workout working all relevant muscle groups and there is an app that helps you check your progress. They also have a good range of cardio machines I personally prefer the elliptical trainer and it is surprising the results you get by doing a couple of sessions a week

Fantastic experience: I have been training with luis at Change - gym and fitness studio in hove, weekly since March. Each week I have benefited, with the different training routines. I have gained muscle lost weight and my metabolic age has dropped 10 years. Luis motivates me and every week I look forward to my training session.

Positive experience: The gym is decent sized and the e-gym is great for beginners and elderly people. The staff are very kind, helpful and approachable. the equipment is ok, and the size is not bad either. It really depends on what you're looking for in a gym. I personally go to the gym to body build and feel that the music is way too quiet and to be quite frank, bad 75% of the time. That obviously depends on what kind of music you like but when i go to the gym i expect to be motivated by the music and here it doesn't do that at all Furthermore when i joined i was led to believe that there was further training space outside and in an almost garage like room, which was really nice for the few months it lasted but now it has been reserved for classes/PT?? don't think that's very professional IMO £30 is quite expensive in my opinion. I've been to gyms which offer more for just £20. You also have to pay £30 extra once a year to help improve the gym? i think?? but so far nothing has really changed since i joined except that outdoor bit which got nice new equipment but is only available to PT and classes? Will have to wait and see i guess... The main downside to this gym is the opening hours which, sorry to say, are terrible. They close at 8 o'clock on Friday and 5 o'clock on weekends! Not sure why that is? there are many people who want to train later in the evening and compared to all the gym's I've ever been to, this has the most restricted opening hours. Hope this has helped...

Fantastic experience: I've been training at Change for the last year or so; it's a friendly gym with modern equipment and good facilities. It was great as a beginner, as the smart e-gym provides a good route into an exercise routine. I moved onto the personal training in Spring and have seen incredible results. With one session booked in per week with Luis, I've already dropped 13 kilos and am feeling - and looking - much healthier. Luis is a great motivator who will push you but also consider your limits and any ailments to make sure your workout is tailored to your body. I highly recommend taking the first step, the results speak for themselves! PT has genuinely changed my life.

Fantastic experience: Really good sized gym with a spacious feel to its layout. Offers a range of good classes and has 3 separate spaces for free weights which is just fantastic. I love the little outside space with the punch bags and tractor tyres, just rounds off a really well thought out gym space. Then the cherry on top... Amazing, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Positive experience: Gym is nice and has lots of equipment. It does get quite buys at peak times and sometimes is difficult to find a spot to work out or free machines but outside peak times is really nice. Don't like the studio classes find the routines quite disorganised with no coherence. They have a sauna and showers.
