Fantastic experience: My partner and I only joined this gym on Tuesday, and so far, we absolutely love it. It's the best Gym Group gym that we've ever been to, and we've been to 3 different ones. The atmosphere is so good at this gym, I love the location of the machines too. I like that the cardio machines are all in the same area. The changing rooms are very spacious, and are very clean. Craig is the only staff member who I have spoken to, and you can tell that he is clearly a manager who cares about the gym, and the experiences of the gym users. I highly recommend this gym. It's much better than Gym Group Middlesbrough.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for a year now and I really enjoy working out here. It has brilliant atmosphere and lighting! It’s best for me to come earlier in the day as there’s more available machines not in use.
Fantastic experience: Been going here since before Covid, honestly never felt more at ease in a gym when i started i was 17 stone, i worried do much about people judging but thats never been an issue, everyone is friendly, Craig honestly is a fabulous bloke and honestly keeps the place running great, equipment is clean, well kept and new

It’s 24 hours open very clean showers all new the gym has everything you need and more the staff are always helpful when you need them yeh it’s a very good gym And it’s probably the cheapest in the town

Positive experience: Would probably be 5 star but small print after signing up found out you can bring a friend 4 times a month but only the same friend twice. Girlfriend wanted to pop along 4 times a month for an likely half an hour tops, membership would be a complete waste for her but found out she can only come twice. Frustrating as did factor it into the cost and choosing this specific gym and don't really see why it has to be limited like that. Seemingly she could stay all day for 2 days and that would be fine but she can't do a small workout once a week with me.

Fantastic experience: Tried most of the gyms in town and despite being a chain TGG Darlington ticks all the boxes of: Well maintained and available Equipment - even in peak times! Not overly crowded. Kind staff - always available if you need a spot or assistance... Or just a natter! Clean changing facilities. Definitely get a bang for your buck, highly recommend it!
Positive experience: Lots of equipment to use and it's mostly in good condition, though some of the pads could do with being swapped out more often. There's plenty of parking and the place is generally clean. It's well priced and the app is useful for seeing how busy the gym is. Don't expect to be able to use the male showers though. The shower heads and doors have all been broken for at least the last 5 months despite management apparently being aware of it.

Fantastic experience: Ok, so all really good. Lots of space, different equipment, classes etc. A bit of minus: scolding hot water in the showers, no shelf to put your toiletries while in shower and literally water barely coming out. Really need improvement there. If you hitting gym before work in the morning, add at least another 15 mins to your schedule for the shower. Definitely improvement needed in that area. Oh and no hairdryers....

Fantastic experience: Been using this Gym For 18months now and honestly the best Gym in the town.iv been to a few in Darlington, and they are not as good as this one! Positive experience: Great variety of equipment, and most of the staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable in what they do. However, the vast majority of gym users in this gym have little to no etiquette. Almost nobody strips the bar after using it, which means you could very well have to remove 100+kg of weight plates before you get a single rep done. Secondly, apart from my brother and myself, I am yet to see anyone wipe down their bench/machine after use, more often than not, leaving little puddles of sweat as a gift for the next guy. Otherwise, it is an excellent gym, it just needs to educate it's clients on basic gym etiquette.

Positive experience: Much changed, had to cancel my membership at JDgym because they promised 24/7, never happened. Came back to TheGym, positively surprised, equipment got replaced and some more added, WiFi works now. I thought this gym ain't gonna improve but it did Good job guys!

Fantastic experience: Really great gym. Large, 24hrs and has a large range of equipment. They have recently installed a fourth squat rack and now have two really good ones. There are two proper benches and loads of free benches. It doesn't get that busy especially if you don't go at peak times and the price is very decent. Staff are always friendly and helpful. There's also a locker room with showers which is nice.

Negative experience: Three of the cleaning stations were empty Of paper towel despite the regimated announcement of "members must work together and clean down equipment after use other wise you will be asked to leave" member of staff on site was too busy in the office on mobile phone

Negative experience: I love the spirit of these affordable gym chains with 24 hour access, usually they are fair good quality too but this one just doesn't cut the mustard. The benches have these ridiculous foot rests that are a trip hazard and a massive gap that makes it extremely uncomfortable to use as a flat bench. The plates are a real mish mash and not very well organised, is it a 10? 15? 20? 25? Who knows half of them look the same and are scattered haphazardly all across the gym. Not enough squat racks, too many big cumbersome Smith machines. The leg raise machine will bruise your shins if you are lifting anything over 20kg on there . Absolutely awful experience on 2 of 3 occasions training here, wasn't too bad for a back session.

Positive experience: It isn't bad. There is a constant smell in the men's changing rooms and toilets. Somd of the equipment like treadmills and cross trainers has seen better days. The price is right but I think it could be better.

Fantastic experience: Recently refurbished with new equipment, expansive gym as a former car showroom. Friendly staff. Membership from £12.99 gives full access 24 hours a day.
