Gym 64 Dunfermline

Fantastic experience: Loving Gym 64 and the friendly staff. I especially love Morag's yoga classes and I'd pay my membership fee just for her teaching alone, she's amazing.

Positive experience: The gym has a wide range of classes and equipment, the reason for 3 stars is the new equipment is poor quality, specifically the spin bikes. The lack of quality there really impacts the class and the workout you are able to do. Disappointing considering the other locations have much better bikes

Negative experience: Poor customer service! I cancelled my direct debit even though I paid upfront the following month - the reason is pregnancy and labour outside of the UK. They immediately denied my access, even it's I literally paid for it. I emailed them - of course, understand that my initial payment on the beginning will be taken (where they claimed that that's the additional month when you cancel your membership) ... After the second email - where I asked for a legal explanation of how it's possible to deny me the service that I paid last month - I haven't received any reply. Definitely, I don't recommend this gym as this is really scammy. They are very friendly at the beginning but will try to take as much as they can from you when you leave...

Positive experience: Great gym and variety of equipment, really friendly and welcoming staff. Only negative from me would be it could do with changing facilities/toilets/sauna area being cleaned more often/thoroughly.

Fantastic experience: The best Gym in Scotland for atmosphere and staff friendliness. The place greatly needs a handy man too fix things . Toilet seat been missing for months . When there's only 2 toilets it becomes ridiculous... Apart from that it's really good ...

Fantastic experience: I was looking to join a local gym and had read the couple of bad reviews given about this gym. However I decided to pop in today to see for myself if it was as bad as the reviews given by couple of folk. It was NOT dirty at all, the girl on desk was very informative and showed me round everywhere, showers, sauna, gym was all clean and fresh smelling, I will definitely be signing up for the annual membership.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Gym 64 for years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else! All staff are extremely welcoming and attentive and always up for a chat (especially Maddie and Kris). I’ve tried other gyms in Dunfermline and have always came back to this gym, would highly recommend :)

Fantastic experience: As a member of the Armed Forces I have access to a few " MOD free gyms". I happily pay to attend here for some classes and also my own training around my work schedule. Bootcamp on a Monday at 1230 is a must! I no longer use MOD gyms when back in Fife.

Fantastic experience: Been @ Gym64 nearly for 2 years now coming through to Dunfermline for work and couldn’t recommend a better gym (wish there was one in the west). Facilities are top class and can’t leave without having one off there smoothies from the juice bar made by Morgan & the other friendly reception staff. Never had a bad experience.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Gym64 for years now and wouldn’t go anywhere else! Classes are amazing and no issue getting booked in! Instructors are first class! Reception staff are so welcoming and friendly! Especially aways so good to catch up with Maddy and her antics! People like Maddy who genuinely make you smile, makes the gym a pleasure to go to, not a chore! Well done Gym64!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this gym for a few years now. Good mix of classes, instructors are knowledgeable and helpful, creating a good atmosphere. When studios are free you can help yourself and do what ever you please. Sauna and steam room is a lovely bonus.

Negative experience: The Gents changing and shower area is a disgrace. It is never cleaned properly, it has an awful smell from the open toilets. You will end up with various foot issues if you walk around in bare feet which a number of members do. I have never seen any proper cleaning with detergents by human or machine. The whole place needs an upgrade, including the gym area where old equipment badly needs replaced. NOt pleasant

Fantastic experience: Reviewed 1 year ago but only gave it star rating of 5. Now it's time to add comments. The staff are very friendly always there to help if needed, always greet you upon entry. Gym equipment better than most gyms out there. I've been to a few gyms in dunfermline and Edinburgh due to working in Edinburgh but I choose to stay here because of the people that come here and the equipment. The gym can get busy but not too busy compared to some of the other well known gyms that if you go at 5pm you might as well kiss goodbye to thay workout sesh. This gym has a full suite of services, you can use sauna, steam room, tanning bed and even get a hair cut. Furthermore if you forgot some food or cba making something there is plenty options for food here in frozen, chilled and calorie controlled meal plans. The cheesecake.... phenomenal I can't help myself but get one almost every time I come. The only thing that would make this better is being 24/7 but I only want that because of my shift pattern. Keep up the good work gym64!!!

Negative experience: Not impressed with a number of factors. 1. The equipment is very old. Most of the machines have iPod connectors and functionality. Equipment is broken and never fixed. There is rust and worn pads on a number of machines. 2. Cleanliness is a big issue. The Gents area is disgusting with standing water in the showers as the tiles do not slope into the drains. These are smelly. The gents urinals are open to the showers and steam/sauna room so urine from the floor is easily transferred from shoes. 3. There is no drinking water in the gym. 4. The sound system blasts out expletive music so if you have kids in there, you might want to be cautious. Overall this place is not appealing. The staff at reception are very good but you will not see any staff in the main gym.

Fantastic experience: I'm a member and mainly go to Pilates and Yoga classes. I do use the gym every week after classes and there's an abundance of exercise equipment to use; something for everyone. Membership is very good value and most of the staff are really lovely and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym. Instructors are fab & they consistently maintain the building and equipment. Great value for money. I do a fee classes a week and cannot fault it.

Negative experience: If you want feel like in club I really recommend this gym however they should buy some disco lights and smoke machine who need working water tap, machine, barbell or dumbbell on gym? lol all working speakers on high volume or new cameras are more important to all gym members. I can’t focus in this place on workout, need to buy new headphones with noise cancelling or just jump to screw fix and get ear defenders.

Negative experience: Used to be a great place to be until upper management started to make negative changes. Lost lots of good staff and the condition of the gym has deteriorated over a long time. Lots of broken and old equipment.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff always offering things to existing customers gets quite busy at peak times so usually go at night equipment is great and lots of classes even have a sauna and steam room if that’s your think and nice clean showers etc and very accommodating when I changed my name

Negative experience: Seemed like a great place to train, so I signed up for a year contract. After that, they immediately lost interest: I had to tail-gate into the gym, because they wouldn't fix or replace my entry fob, and also teach myself to use the equipment, because they were always too busy to help. There's lots of other gyms in the area with excellent customer service, I recommend trying one of those!

Negative experience: Update as of October 2020: no hand sanitizer in actual gym, only at front door. Lights not working. Staff unaware of sunflower lanyard which mean you have an invisible disability. I wont be coming back :)

Fantastic experience: Never been much of a fitness person but as I reach the age of the midway stretch - outwards rather then upperwards sadly, I feel the need to try and get my body kicked into shape. I have tried this at different stages in my life and has always been a little haphazardly as every time I walk into a gym it's like starting high school all over again - once done don't want to repeat!! I am pleasantly surprised however that I don't get that feeling here, in fact though my face does not always show it (particularly at 6am) I look forward to my visits as you are always welcomed by the receptionists and instructors to the other gym users. From my first use of the gym to first experience of metafit everyone has always been friendly and supportive. The gym must have hundreds of users but still people stop to ask how you are getting on or comment on how much you are coming on. It also helps that you can book a review with staff to get fitness MOT or a new workout to make sure you are making most of area.
