Fantastic experience: My Dad Peter K Garnell used to come here my sister Kristel told me and he has a art peice there too, he probably came there in the 80s he passed in 2002 when I was 4. I might visit around the new year, do you remember him?
Peter had trained here from a young man, and we became close friends. Peter became a man of faith just before he had his final motorcycle accident and broke our hearts when he died. Peter had told me that he had repented and given his life to Jesus as his Lord God and Savior. I saw my friend begin to blossom as a new Christian. Peter had experienced great tragedy in his life. I told the vicar at his funeral of Peters faith and new life in Jesus for the vicar to tell his family and friends but the vicar chose to not mention it. The bible promises that all that repent and call on the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved. I remember Peter as a competitive bodybuilder as a young man lifting weights in Stans Gym. But it was the friendship I had with him in his last year that had the biggest impact on me. Peter phoned me one day, while i was unwell at home with my wife and said. Stan I have just brought up a new punch bag for your gym as a gift. Our last conversation was when my wife Julie made Peter a sandwich and me and Peter and my wife Julie listened to him tell us that he loved going out riding his motorcycle early in the morning racing about and that he had a very near miss. So much so that he pulled over and got of his bike and stood by the side of the road amazed he was still alive. Peter was laughing and we all agreed that God had given him a warning. I will always remember that afternoon on a bright mild day with Peter sitting over my mum's talking and eating his sandwich. Love to all his family. One day through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord, crucified and risen Saviour, you will see him again. Seek the Lord Jesus until you know Him. Repent means stop living for yourself, live for God. Cry out, speak out Jesus for give me, take my life, have faith unwavering faith and God will give you overwhelming proof by answering your prayers in Jesus Name. You will see.

Fantastic experience: The surroundings are phenomenal peaceful Stan the man is so welcoming he says help yourself to as much tea and coffee as you want for free That's unheard of now days A really lovely family and they treat everyone like family God bless Stan and thank you for supporting me

Fantastic experience: I love Stan's gym. Stan is my brother in the lord Jesus Christ. Stan's gym is a powerful place, friendly people, I couldn't recommend a great place to come and train. I won't be going to any other gym, I love it at Stan's, it's a place of training but also a place of peace of mind. Michael ✝️

Fantastic experience: Brilliant heavy duty gym
Negative experience: Recently came to this gym. As a transgender and Non-binary, I felt very uncomfortable in the gym environment. Many people where looking at me with Death stares, and When I corrected a Man in the gym on my correct Pronouns (They/Them) He Laughed in my face, Called me a Her and said "Your in the wrong type of gym son". I felt very threatened by this and Immediately left, I will not be returning.
Negative experience: The price is reasonable but there is no heating in the building. Stan is also homophobic he openly announced his hatred in front of me and 2 others
Joe just because i don't like vile behavior doesn't mean I hate the person. Homosexual men going into junior schools dressed as women encouraging little children for them to grow up and marry their own sex may be brilliant for you, but not me.

Negative experience: Went to this gym, had nothing but the lord preached to me whilst I was trying to lift! Very off putting
Jake tell the truth, we had known you for years and you had often been to our house, we had even encouraged your music career. We had loads of interesting conversations and you had always tried to convince us that there is no God. We had welcomed you to train at our gym many times even giving you some free workouts and free training advise even discussing training supplements. I have lost count how many times you have trained here and even brought a friend at one time. You strangely have attacked our business and made up a story as if you had not known us. Anyway, no hard feelings. We hope your music career continues to take off and you have a successful life. Keep Training.

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out. Seriously I've been to commercial gyms in the past like pure gym where you have to hang about waiting for weights and machinery......not at stans gym. Its only small but has a great atmosphere and all the weights you will ever need.

Positive experience: Very spit and sawdust old school gym. No posers in lycra, just blokes training hard. Cheap as cheaps, but most of the equipment is way past is best. Great friendly atmosphere

Fantastic experience: Stans gym is great. It reminds me of a Rocky Balboa gym which I love. Stan is the nicest guy always happy to help you and joins in on sessions which is great to see from a owner. The people that attend are so nice no posers just people trying to better theirselfs.
Fantastic experience: Small, local Gym for serious fitness seekers. Can pay by the session only if you wish too which is great if you have limited time to work out. Plenty of onsite parking.
