The Gym Group London Caledonian Road

Negative experience: Gym and staff there are great (especially Hristo ), however, AWFUL account support makes it not worth it. Be careful getting locked in with their memberships.

Positive experience: So far, my favourite Gym Group gym (and I have been to a fair few in London). It is small, yes, but works. It is the most friendly gym I've been to and it is unlike the many gyms in London where people are so self-absorbed. On my first day there, a couple of people (one being the manager Natalia) recognised me as new and were so welcoming and helpful. The Yogalates class there is brilliant, by the way. And it is 15 minutes by bus from King's Cross.

Negative experience: Filthy thieves and burglars work in the gym. I have my bag locked in on the lockers and when I finish my work out after hour, my locked was already picked and all the valuables in my bag is gone. Locking your stuff isn’t even enough now as the thieves are baseless and condoned by the gym. Be aware fellow trainers.

Negative experience: I joined this gym, but my PIN is inactive. When I visited, they couldn’t help and told me to see the manager the next day. Unfortunately, I couldn’t reach the manager, so I left my details for them to follow up. I called The Gym Group, and they said they could only cancel my membership. They didn’t take my information and mentioned it would take 14 days to process a refund. I’m also unsure if they received my message since I never got a response. It’s frustrating that no one seems able to assist online, even at The Gym Group.

Negative experience: I was told by the manager whenever I get certain emails to fill out a survey only with five starts. I appreciate they are trying to get good reviews but this should come from my personal opinion not an imposed one of a person working there. Moreover, I still do not get how there are signs saying clean after yourself’ but there is NOT a single cleaning station. Hygiene there is non-existent and whoever tries and tells me there are cleaners etc. is lying because I have not seen that while exercising!!! If it was not the only gym nearby to where I live this would not be my choice.

Negative experience: I cancelled my membership 2 years ago, The Gym has stopped sending any emails to my account but has kept charging me every month. Over £800 overcharged. Absolutely crazy. Pin ending 0465. I feel absolutely cheated.

Fantastic experience: Staff very kind and always ready to help you , the machines are great and free weights are a lot, many benchs too.

All the staff was lovely, from the manager Natalia, to Metah, to Kristo.....there is a lovely light pleasant mood here, which obviously contributes to your workout. I will definately be returning here. Would reccomend this place to anyone.

For a reasonably small gym, the facility is modern and well maintained with the right amount of equipment needed for any workout. The trainers here are approachable and very helpful. Overall the gym provides a supportive and motivating atmosphere which makes it easier to achieve your fitness goals!

Negative experience: Very poor customer service. However, equipped well. I had an issue with the gym entrance, so I called through the bottom next to the door, which says, “Call us if you need help.” Nobody came to help me. When I finally got in, on the way to the changing room, there was their office, where the guy just scrolled his phone. Why wouldn't he help?

Negative experience: Very unhelpful, messaged them on instagram asking them for help with something important, turns out they lied saying they didn’t have access to help me with this situation, then when I told them I know they do have access and I needed this help, they totally ignored my message!

Fantastic experience: For someone who is new to gym, I can honestly say that both Kasia and Natalia welcomed me very well. It definitely seems like a very comfortable gym with friendly faces. Looking forward to my journey here

Fantastic experience: Nice spacious gym. Has all the equipment needed. Also has a body competition calculator for £2.50 so can check all your fat muscle and hydration stats. Changing room could be a bit bigger but not a big deal

Positive experience: The gym has no cleaning supplies and I saw 1 person coughing directly on the equipment. A lot of people leave their disgusting sweat marks and sweat drops on the equipment. The manager constantly asks about the reviews and some surveys.

Fantastic experience: Just finished a 20-20 class with Mario Giuliano, and I'm sweating more than I thought humanly possible. Definitely recommended if you want to get your heart rate up as well as your strength levels and pick up a few new exercises to add to your personal library. All the trainers at the Caledonian gym are fab, friendly and knowledgeable so come and join us!

Fantastic experience: The Person Trainers and staffs in general are very friendly. Specially, Mario that is very gentil and polite with me all the time. The cleaning at the gym is the standard. I would like to mention, perhaps, create a signage to reeducate members to do not spend much time at the mobiles while using the equipments as there are people are waiting to use as well. At the rush time, if it is possible, of course, block one of the entrance to be using as an entrance only and the other capsule, as an exit. People coming or leaving do not respect and became a long queue. The gym is great and I highly recommend.:)

Negative experience: I was a member of this gym since I moved into the area in 2022 and it used to be clean and had a great atmosphere. But now it's dirty, overcrowded and the staff ignore any feedback despite their policy of asking for feedback. They removed paper towels to save money (they actually told me this is the reason why, an order from the corp office) and as a result, the gym is FILTHY. They'll claim the staff clean but they don't. The staff don't even re-rack weights because the students just leave everything lying around. I've cancelled my membership and joined another gym because of the filth, the sweat stains on benches and machines, the damaged floors at the lifting platforms, the staff who do nothing and the endless male students who smell like they haven't washed in months. I would avoid this gym at all costs.

Negative experience: Unbelievably busy, not even going at 11pm onwards will guarantee a wait-free visit. Do not buy a membership unless you're prepared to add an extra 20-30 minutes onto every workout. I can corroborate earlier reviews about the general manager coercing visitors into leaving positive reviews as I have seen it happen multiple times before. The lack of reliable staff on the premises also makes it impossible to enter/exit the building if something goes wrong (I have been trapped a couple of times myself) and the system is not brilliant at preventing this from happening. EDIT - I should add the gym is leaking from the roof onto both squat racks and the only Smith machine. This has been going on for at least a month and so far all they've done is put up wet floor signs. This seems like a mild safety hazard
