Fantastic experience: Love this place!

Negative experience: Please return my money back. I requested membership cancellation for over 30 days. But you still took one more month's payment and then cancelled.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this gym due to lack of respect for families with children... When purchasing a weekly subscription for my fiancée, we were not informed about the ban on entry with children aged 0-6. At the second entrance, the girl from the reception only allowed us to enter the green zone, so we did training there as she asked to do so, on the third day, the manager also allowed us to enter with our child and she had no problem with it after explaining that we had been allowed to enter this way before, but on the last day ( 14/06) we were rudely treated... the girl at the reception told us that we would not be allowed in . we bought and consumed a pre-workout which is not very pleasant unless you overtrain... she looked at us all the time like an enemy and did not let me explain that today is my fiancée's last day in this country and we have agreed with the manager that we will still enter the last day... I think that for a client who pays for a subscription, food, supplements and pre-workouts, I should be treated a little differently and not in such a primitive way... I finally gave up on this gym...

Fantastic experience: Good gym with loads of machines. Good for many types of training, no specialist powerlifting or Olympic weightlifting stuff to speak of. Great classes with Marcus

Fantastic experience: When ever I visit family in Wales I make the trip to 1GYM which is amazing. I would move to Wales just to train here everyday has to be on your gym visit list if you like to travel

Positive experience: Great gym, lots of equipment. Only minor issue is the temperature- really cold (finger numbing cold) but I guess it’s not easy to get a temperature that works for everyone

Negative experience: Company ties you into a 12 monthly contract. Does not advise you of this until you’ve signed up. (Nicely tucked into their T&CS). I advised them I can no longer continue this due to a medical issue but they do not make cancelling this easy at all! Good luck if you have a life changing injury you will still have to continue to pay this membership. Disgusting company practices. Awful customer service over the phone and via email. Why I owe you a debt for a further service you have not yet provided I will never know!

Fantastic experience: Excellent facility with a station to train every body part with plenty of opportunity for free weight excercises too. Enough lifting platforms for everyone. Spotlessly clean throughout, plenty of space I'm the changing rooms and a wide selection of foods and drinks in the cafe.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with an abundance of equipment. Its really well spaced out and you'll have no issue for getting on a machine during your workout. Really good atmosphere and the shop and coffee bar are a bonus. I only signed up for a week, due to travel in the area, but wished they had a similar gym where I lived.

I have tried countless gyms in Newport and haven’t found any other better than this one I am a big fan of all of the trainings facilities such as a dedicated cardio area, cables, free weights and so much more! The shop area is amazing with thousands of different protein powders in addition all of the staff is always really happy and always smiling all and all I love this gym and will continue to come back

The gym is spacious, clean, easy to access, is loaded with new equipment, provides bathrooms with showers, and has some shops that helps make it a one-stop shop. It’s also affordable. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Negative experience: Used to love this gym but after they withheld almost £70 of my money my opinion changed. I had a membership where I paid £200 for a year. However when we went into lockdown I still had 4 months left of what I’d paid for. I was advised that when they reopened they wouldn’t be honouring my contract. They would not provide a pro-rata refund and the only way I would receive my remaining 4 months was if I signed up for a 12 month contract at £50 a month. They would then add my remaining 4 months on to the end of my 12 months. Given the current situation with the pandemic I don’t have money to go from £16 a month to £50 a month. Having already taken my money they should not have the right to withhold what I’d already paid for. Will never trust this gym with my money ever again.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Newport by a very long mile. Amazing facilities and equipment, super friendly staff and knowable PTs and an extra bonus with the recently refurbished cafe and work area. Cannot recommend enough.

Negative experience: Used to think this place was great until they reopened after lockdown and increased the prices without informing existing members. A small increase? Absolutely not. Used to be £20 per month. It’s now a whopping £50 per month with no warning! I understand an increase in a price but absurd to increase it by £30 when people are trying to get back on their feet. Will not be joining as I had originally planned.

Fantastic experience: With the recent redesigned layout the place feels even bigger (and it already felt huge). So many squat platforms and free space to do sledge pulls/pushes walking lunges. Quite easily the best gym I've been member of, I enjoy my workouts here, the atmosphere is amazing. If you're looking for a good vibe environment to smash your squats and deads or are just serious about Training overall then look no further than One gym.

Positive experience: Initially i was very impressed with the facility however as the year unfolded I found myself fighting for space in my particular workout area due to the classes continually encroaching the combat area let alone the class members kit bags and when my annual membership expired early (despite being paid) it rendered my access card and class booking facility as useless, I was not supplied with any satisfying answers despite talking to 3 different staff members and no reply from the co owner despite emailing him direct-Very disappointing, needless to say I did not renew my membership. Great gym but lacking outgoing staff and customer service.

Positive experience: Loads of equipment, you can always access something even when it's really busy. No water fountains which I found strange as I have never been to a gym were u could could not access water.

Positive experience: Visited from Canada. Massive gym. Two things surprised me a little. First, no one was cleaning equipments after themselves and secondly, there were not enough weights around the gym :( would have been a five star review

Changing rooms are nice, and the showers are warm :) Plenty of equipment and classes, although I'm only using the treadmills at the moment. There's always several available when I turn up at 4pm, peak times don't seem to affect availability too much which is great

Fantastic experience: Impressive, not only by the size but the amount of equipment available to use. The facilities are of great standard. You can chill and have coffee/tea with a selection of cakes and protein bars as well as a hot meal if you prefer. This is not your normal gym!

Fantastic experience: Came earlier to look at the gym to see if it was worth joining, was impressed at the range of equipment and the many benches, a guy named Joe showed me around, was very helpful and answered all my questions. Top notch equipment, with a good variety of free classes with your membership. Nicely tailored place with a well thought out design; which includes a 45m indoor track. No steam or sauna room but they do have a hot yoga room.

There is lots of space so your not squeezing past people and you can train comfortably. I love this gym and would recommend to every one to come and have a look.

Fantastic experience: One gym has certainly lived up to its expectations for me! Owners are so friendly and helpful. I couldn’t remember my log on details to reset my password after getting a new phone and they were straight on it sorting it out for me! There is so much equipment but the quality doesn’t suffer because of this. I am so happy that I am no longer spending time in the gym waiting for equipment! The variety of equipment is also brilliant, being able to exercise muscles I didn’t even know I had! It’s a huge space with something for everyone, cannot fault it!
