The Axis Centre

Positive experience: Popped in with friends to the Chinwag Cafe for tea, coffee and a bacon roll, which was delicious. My first visit. Other than that, my knowledge of the Axis Centre is limited

Fantastic experience: A visit to Symposium Coffee house in the Axis Centre. A great place to meet, eat & chat. Friendly & helpful staff. A fantastic menu and love the coffee. They also sell the coffee ground in bags with a few other branded products. The giant pancakes are awesome with maple syrup and even better with bacon. Washed down with a double shop flat white also very good. Right in the middle of Newmachar, just off the main road. Well worth a stop. Support your local business. Axis Centre has an indoor and outdoor gym and a large sports hall.

Fantastic experience: Nice gymnasium. Well equipped. Really good restaurant with good menus coffee, fancy pieces and sandwiches.

Fantastic experience: Great place but then I did spend 5 years fundraising to build it! Even so the staff and facilities are really first rate and the manager is brilliant.

Positive experience: Difficult to rate as we only go here for Dog Classes, but it's clean, accessible, and suits the purpose.

Negative experience: It wasn't made clear if the bohemium nights gig was standing or seated!! Got intouch with venue about seats. They got back to me a couple of days after, which wasn't really helpful atall... A young man came out with seats, I tried to take one, it was snatched away from me. I have degenerative bulging discs disorder, so I asked the man if I could have a seat & explained why.. He did not care & said there are no more seats & pointed across the hall & said there were odd seats. All the seats were taken. He was rude & just did not care one bit!! It's a good job the band were fab, or I would of left & so would some of my friends that were there.! I am in absolute agony, standing for 3 &1/2 hours. If I knew it was standing before hand. Would never of gone... Now I have to go & pay £50 to my chiropractor now... & I'm on benefits!! Thanks alot!!!!

Positive experience: An OK tea stop for the cycling club. Staff are a bit harassed but catering not bad. Can't comment on the other facilities in this sports/ community centre. March 2023: under new management, the Chinwag Cafe is a great improvement. Good food and service at great prices.

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff, great classes and good gym facilities. The coffee and cakes aren't bad either they also do an adult dog class!

Fantastic experience: it would be good if you could update google maps because this is the old hall the axis centre is much bigger and better
