Fantastic experience: Gym was always looked after, in terms of equipment, but now its staggering how many machines and attachments have been added or replaced. The gym is packed with all you need. Also, nice staff and cool people, but the best is the reception doggy. You rock, FTC fam!

Fantastic experience: Best decision I have made this year, good programme planning, open 24/7 which is helpful if you want to be flexible, cost wise not expensive. Staff available from 5.30am throughout the day

Fantastic experience: Have been to most gyms in Ipswich over the years including David Lloyd, Pure, True, Energie… They’re all nice but in all honesty none of them are on the same level as FTC in terms of equipment on offer, space, and just the overall vibe. Only joined recently but staff are helpful and supportive, gym is clean and tidy, and the range and variety of equipment is there to help you achieve whatever your goals are… weight loss, muscle build, literally everything. Real sense of community too which is difficult for a gym to achieve. Go on their Insta to see what I mean… thanks guys!!

Fantastic experience: What can I say , after 5 years away from training I never thought I'd be able to walk in another gym let alone enjoy it , staff are amazing, gym is incredible, equipment first class , atmosphere is friendly and welcoming , price incredible value for money.... if you ever had any doubts about joining a gym give this place a go you'll not be disappointed....

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! I've been going to this gym for around 5 months and I've not looked back! Loads of good equipment, a huge selection of weights and good changing rooms along with the other facilities and the fact it's a 24 hour gym just means I can go at my usual time of 1am haha

I know the FTC in FTC Gym stands for Functional Training Company and it is indeed a very well-equipped and functional gym, but I firmly believe FTC also accurately describes the sentiment of the gym as being Full of Team Camaraderie, as it is without any doubt the most welcoming, friendly, supportive, inclusive and intensely positive 'team' atmosphere of any gym I've ever experienced - highly recommended! It's also 24/7 so you can always find quieter times to train if you prefer.

Fantastic experience: This is a brilliant Gym! The atmosphere is great and always clean and tidy. The prices are very reasonable, especially with the amount of equipment on offer! This gym has personally helped me improve my fitness, in under 6 months of joining this gym I have lost over 3 stone and improved my muscle definition. The staff are always helpful and friendly. I would strongly recommend this gym if you are looking to join, even for more elite gym goers as there are lots of high level training equipment but also equipment for those with less experience.

Negative experience: Went there for nearly 3 months. Not a bad option if you are local. Quite clean inside and staff is friendly. But always there are some bad bits also. The gym is popular and therefore mostly overcrowded. There is no chance you can find a parking space betrween 4-6pm Monday to Thursday. The only day there is no busy is Friday. Do not try to park on the verge. You WILL be fined. Falling shelves in the male changing room. Definetely needs a refubrish. I bet that nasty bucket under the drinking water fountain is still there. They didn't manage to fix it for 3 months I went in that gym. There were a problem with air con system during the hottest days as well. Could not stay too much as it was very hot. That was enough for me to start looking for another gym and I found an much better option with a better price. If you feel them bits are critical for you but still want to try that gym, try to pay just for a month. Do not do my mistake as I had to pay 6 monts membership for service I do not use anymore.

Fantastic experience: I have been at this gym for the last 6 months and I can say with confidence that this gym is better than most in the area. All the staff are very friendly and always willing to help wether that be physio related or general questions. All the equipment is good quality and well looked after and they are recently getting new and improved equipment. The only reason I’m leaving is due to it being so far from where I live otherwise I would of stayed.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing not only do you not have to wait for hours to do 1 set but the staff are polite and friendly and the gym is clean special shout-out goes to my PT Adam he is motivating and constantly checks up with you even when you're not in a session with him he has helped me get used to the gym and I feel more confident in myself than ever aswell as all this his positive attitude really runs off on you and I have found that my day to day has been affected by this in a positive way thank you FTC and Ty Adam

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to FTC twice now on day passes when visiting ipswich to see friends and each time has been great. Staff here are great and Chloe at the front of house is super personable and helpful. Gym itself is amazing - has everything you need and more. If I lived closer this would be my local gym 100%

Fantastic experience: I wish I had known about this place sooner! This is by far the best and most friendliest gym I have been a member at (and I have tried a few). The staff cannot do enough to help you and all the patrons are friendly. I never feel like anyone is staring at me. The egym equipment is fantastic and given me the confidence to start using other equipment on my own (previously I hated going to the gym on my own). In the month that I have been a member I have lost weight and dropped a dress size using the egym system. The whole team should be massively proud of what they are able to offer people! Thank you xx

Fantastic experience: Great Gym located in the Whitehouse area of Ipswich. The staff are friendly and helpful and the facilities are extensive, with a wide range of equipment on the ground floor for all levels of ability. They also do fitness classes, but this is something I haven’t tried yet Personally the cardio area upstairs is more appealing and best for me, as I had never trained before, I also love using the eGYM. The reason is, I was self conscious and I wanted to set off in relative privacy from the really fit people who also train there. Once calibrated machines in the eGYM constantly assess your progress and adapt the programme to reflect this. The machines are also varied and focus on different exercises. What FTC taught me is, is that. you can have people with national level awards, training alongside people with severe injuries and enjoy each other’s company. Something that didn’t cross my mind, before having a tour of gym with the boss, John some months ago. He is a fit ex RAF trained PT, so knows his stuff and has no doubt trained some people with major injuries as well. His knowledge of both fitness and dealing with recovery issues, I suspect, means he can professionally deal with anyone who walks into his gym Hard to visualise, but eGYM is an ensemble of machines that work independently, but linked and are calibrated to your ability and capabilities. As you grow they evolve with you and challenge you further. If you wish to develop quicker, the staff are on hand to fine tune further. It is an incredible room that totally changed my perception of fitting into a gym Although you can train alone, there is a social atmosphere and I enjoy chatting with staff and members. Add the member car park and good value subscription and think you’ll go a long way to find a better gym The obvious benefits of staying fit and healthy go without question, but I was surprised how many other members like me, also benefit from the mental well-being you derive from being a member of a great gym 10/10

Negative experience: Have been a member since this gym opened. Supported the owner by paying full membership during both lock downs. Disgusted with management skills after being bullied by 2 woman in the gym as 1 was using a squat machine to lean against while she use free weights. Told to move. Didn't think it was right to try and move a squat machine out of her way so I could carry on training. Cancelled my membership with amediate affect after management didn't even ask me what happened

Fantastic experience: Excellent hygiene standards, good quality equipment and sensibly laid out/organised so there are multiple of the most popular machines. I've never had to queue. Registration and log in are smooth and efficient, PT knowledge and quality is up with the best I've worked with. Great atmosphere for casual members, class focused members, members with health problems/complaints and seasoned/heavy weight members. If it had a pool I'd never have a reason to leave

Fantastic experience: ***** CLEAN & MINDFUL OF HYGIENE ***** Please; this gym was ready BEFORE lockdown. It needn’t have closed! Everyone is doing their bit keeping it clean. BEST GYM EVER! I mean that. I have frequented gyms across London & East Anglia for 20 years and this one is my favourite bar none. The equipment is top notch & there is so much variety. Everything you could possibly need. The staff are an absolute delight. Professional; helpful and very friendly. Onsite parking is limited to the space the premises is on but the two streets it resides on have plenty of parking. So don’t fret on that one. If you’re looking for a decent gym then THIS is the one!

Fantastic experience: Since reopening after lockdown, FTC have been incredible. The whole gym is spotless and COVID safety procedures have been implemented throughout. I feel like I can work out in complete safety, even in the classes... which is amazing as they are my fave! Can’t recommend the place enough.

They were amazing during lockdown, going above and beyond to loan equipment and keep us all fit with SJ doing regular classes. The gym team and members make this a great gym to be a member of.

Fantastic experience: FTC is an excellent place to go, it is affordable, clean the coaches are amazing, the app is also pretty good and can advise how busy the Gym currently is, the separate entrance/ exit portals are a great idea and the gym is cleaned well with hand sanitiser and disinfectant sprays readily available. Wide range of memberships. I'd recommend it to anyone!

The space is amazing, over two levels, to include quality and varied equipment to suit all the needs of the professional athlete to the recreational user, including a fantastic studio space and E-Gym. Everyone is made to feel welcome here. The manager has pulled out all the stops in recent weeks and no expenses spared on safety measures and staff training to ensure all covid safety guidelines can be adhered to with ease and clients can feel safe and relaxed when working out in the gym in the 'new normal'. You get nothing but the highest standards, across the board at FTC. 'Excellence is mandatory, not a vague aspiration' is the mantra used at FTC, and this USP is definitely upheld 100% above and beyond. Thanks FTC for providing such a great place, with great people.

Positive experience: Great gym. Clean and the equipment is top end. Only have 3 small gripes: parking is impossible at peak times, some equipment (cable machine) could do with a bit of attention - not been right for months. PLEASE open a little earlier at weekends.

Fantastic experience: One of the friendliest gyms I’ve ever been to, that includes staff and other customers. I normally go down early doors in the morning when it’s not too busy and have most of the machines to myself. Times to avoid would be 5-7pm on weekdays it gets very busy and I’ve had to wait your turn to get on some of the resistance machines.

Fantastic experience: First time in today: My first time at the gym this morning, I'm normally quite anxious when it comes to starting up at a new gym, but the staff are very friendly and helpful, the equipment is good quality and there's plenty of it to use. The layout has very clearly been thought about as it doesn't feel too cramped between benches etc. The changing rooms are a good size, as are the lockers and there are plenty of showers available. Top notch guys!

Fantastic experience: Great facilities, great staff, great classes on offer. COVID safety has been fully considered for all aspects of the gym including classes so you can feel safe whilst enjoying the company of some fantastic staff and fellow members.

Positive experience: It's a new gym that seems to offer the standard array of fitness and weight machines. The one area that it does go above and beyond on is the classes offered and the availability of the staff to help and assist. Given the pretty low cost of membership the personal touch from the staff seems to be the part that separates it from other gyms in the area

Negative experience: Was thinking about changing my current gym, called FTC asking if I could come and somebody could show me everything around. Been told - that's fine, just pop in. I told the time when I was going to come then. And.. when I actually came, there was no one available! All the stuff was busy in classes and pt sessions. The lady on reception asked me to wait, but after 10 mins just told me "sorry". Guys, if you do not need new customers, you are doing everything right! Just tell this in the beginning so they don't have to spend their time on coming, looking for the parking (which is small and full) and waiting until somebody will pay attention to them.
