Fantastic experience: Excellent gym - wide variety of equipment, lots of it and clean too
Negative experience: Not as good now that the cleaning stations have been removed, meaning that you can't clean equipment after use. Not good for spread of germs and general cleanliness. Should provide an alternative.

Robust cleaning regimes are still in place and we continue to pump in 100% fresh air ventilation, day and night, we clean on a daily basis, including cleaning of all equipment and gym facilities with anti-viral products. We encourage members to bring in a sweat towel to use after they have used a piece of equipment. Having cleaning stations has resulted in a significant increase in the amount of paper waster and we are focussed on minimising our waste as part of our commitment to Net-Zero. We are proud to be the very first Carbon Neutral Gym Chain in the UK. This is just a part of our efforts, for example we are also taking steps to reduce the amount of single use plastics in our vending machines.
Negative experience: Gym is good, decision to do away with the sanitizer and blue roll stinks though. The gents toilet area often runs out of soap especially over the weekemd. Have suggested several times one dispenser is not enough, as no cleaner to refill. No action taken. First time dissappointed with service here

Negative experience: Whilst I have no complaints re: gym staff / equipment or the contract cleaners but really last Sunday 09.10 both cubicles disgusting no cleaners and 10.30 the situation was still evident despite informing the staff who came in. Needs cleaning staff on duty early in the morning including weekends Discovered that despite cancelling the Yanga on the app twice and showing it was done this was of course not the case!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been at the gym group for 6 months and I love it! I have my own coach outside of the gym & a lot of us on the programme were following train at the gym group. The staff are friendly and whenever I’ve needed help with using some kit of even finding the machine I want they are ready to help! All the staff are friendly from cleaning staff to PTs. It’s clean, and tidy. Can be busy around 5pm to 7pm but I pick my own times to come! I’ve always used a gym that is classed based, and never thought a gym like this was for me, but, I LOVE it. Fantastic experience: Recently joined The Gym at the start of the year, I attend a mixture of the morning classes and use the gym equipment on my own. I have never felt more comfortable or welcomed into a gym environment like here. I started coming with a couple of friends from work but due to how friendly everyone is I will happily come on my own which I never thought I’d do!

Negative experience: Utterly useless, somehow I was signed up as a disabled user. Customers service couldn’t do anything and then of course when I attended gym on several occasions there were no staff present. Paid a month and got locked out of using the gym. Several wasted journeys. Absolute sham.

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, friendly staff and plenty of great machines.
Positive experience: I love the gym group, it’s usually such a great place to be. My issue is that there’s one coach is not very respectful of other people in the gym. Today whilst trying to deadlift I had a group of 10ish crowd the deadlift platforms with no etiquette. They were really dominating the area and it felt like the people on the platforms were forced out of the space they were using. This coach has been a problem before, he regularly gets in the way of other people using the spaces and in general provides a really bad vibe. Such a shame cause it’s definitely the best commercial gym in Exeter and I normally love it.

The standout feature here is the exceptional staff, particularly Reece and Martin, who go above and beyond to make your gym experience truly worthwhile. Reece and Martin are not just employees; they are fitness enthusiasts who are always eager to help members, whether it's by demonstrating new exercises or simply boosting the morale of the entire gym. Their friendly and motivating presence adds a positive vibe to the place, making it a pleasure to work out there. Cleanliness is a top priority for me, and "The Gym Group" consistently meets this expectation. The gym is spotless, which contributes to a comfortable and hygienic workout environment. One notable improvement I've witnessed is the addition of bigger weights for bodybuilders. It's evident that the gym listens to its members' feedback and strives to cater to everyone's needs. This willingness to evolve and adapt is commendable. However, the only downside is the body fat measuring machine, which has been out of order for weeks. I hope they address this issue soon, as it's a valuable tool for tracking progress and setting fitness goals. In conclusion, "The Gym Group" is an excellent choice for beginners and intermediate gym-goers alike. With a friendly atmosphere, dedicated staff like Reece and Martin, and a commitment to member feedback, it's a place where you can achieve your fitness goals while feeling welcome and supported. Negative experience: Scammy company. I have been trying to downgrade my membership for three weeks. Neither app or website works, staff in gym give me a phone number for a billing company who say they can't help, and I get no reply to emails. I'm having to take legal action over such a ridiculous thing because I can't actually speak to anyone who can help. Utterly ridiculous. Scam company, stay away. The Gym Group asked me to email them below, which I have, and STILL I get no reply. I am now speaking to a local journalist who is talking to other people having the same issues.

Positive experience: Great work out today staff absolutely brilliant. I was lifting weights but incorrectly the trainer without being prompted approached me and advised me on the best technique.

Fantastic experience: The gym is clean, the atmosphere is very friendly and the quality and diversity of kit means you will never be unable to train even at busy times. My PT, Alastair Woodman who works from the Gym in Marsh Barton Exeter is a good ambassador for training as he knows his stuff and he knows how to get the most out of his clients and therefore we continually get good results.

Positive experience: Spacious gym with plenty of equipment. Usually don't have too many problems getting on what I need to get on, even when I go at the peak time of 5:30pm on a weekday. Equipment is clean as well as the changing rooms and there's plenty of parking. My only gripe is that there's not enough space to do mat work when classes are on as this area is entirely taken up by the class. But I guess that's just the way it is due to limited space elsewhere and I do go at a peak time.

Fantastic experience: Always someone at the front door to welcome you into the gym. Equipment is top quality and the gym facilitates all my needs. The personal trainers that are working will always be happy to help when struggling with an exercise or idea. Never had a bad experience when going to the gym
