Negative experience: After being fined £100 from the parking company you now use and me and my friend both did not see the signs and had not used your gym for a year so had no idea there was a time limit (and we were in your gym the entire time my car was parked in your car park - but hey "not the staff responsibility to warn us" - we will never use this gym again. Disgusting.

Fantastic experience: It’s a HUGE gym. Lots of Hammer Strength machine including a bunch of machines I’d never seen before, and I’ve been to LOTS of gyms. Happened to be in the area to do some work on the car, so I used this gym to kill some time buying a day pass. No regrets. I’d go here regularly if I lived in the area

Fantastic experience: Muscle gym that has everything you need for a day pass or if your a regular, had a small studio space upstairs too for stretching etc. Very busy at 5pm and struggled to get on machines I needed ,but good buzz and plenty of people about who are happy to help you find a machine/ show you how to use it

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Ripped Gym for about 6 months now and I have to say i’m impressed. Yeah, the place has a reputation for being a ‘big blokes’ gym but both staff and customers are extremely friendly no matter your size, condition or gender. This is particularly important for me as i’m a gay and have never felt intimidated or excluded, I simply want to go to a good gym and get no hassle and Ripped offers me that. One thing I would suggest if anyone from their management is reading this, could you please change the opening times to a 5am start? I know this is a big ask but I like to work out in the morning and the current window means I have to rush or risk getting to work late. Having the flexibility of an extra hour would take a great deal of pressure off me. It would also provide you with an advantage over other competitors who seem to open at the same time. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I have been training since the age of 18 and I am now 45. Ripped Gym is the best gym I have trained in. Unbelievable variety of different weights & machine’s, great atmosphere, nice selection of food and an incredible variety of protein shakes. The staff and owners are very polite and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Gym, Currently over for work during the week and getting settled in. Wanted a gym that you can pay as you go until out of hotel. Phoned up and wasnt a bother. Excellent variety of equipment and cool atmosphere. Got one of the meals too, great stuff. Only down fall it doesnt open a little earlier as I prefer to get a workout before work. But all in all Excellent gym.

Negative experience: Great gym if you like the same song playlist on repeat and machines constantly broken or with bolts hanging out This gym used to be incredible and I would always look forward to training here and now it seems like it has been neglected with young staff just sitting behind the counter on their phones rather than serving people or cleaning the gym I feel a little love and money needs to be invested back into the gym to bring it back up to the standard that it was once in

Fantastic experience: Visited the gym yesterday. ,great variety of machines with an old skool feel. Well stocked shop and they offer a variety of shakes and snacks. We were made to feel welcome by both Billy and Reece and both very helpful and great to chat too ,recommend this place to all. Great vibe and atmosphere

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I’ve been to. Very good value for the day pass I bought. Massive variety of weights and machines. Showers & changing rooms are very clean. Massive variety of pre workout, water and protein supplements. Best thing about the gym were the staff who answered a few of my queries on the phone and when I got there, the staff behind the counter were great. The white chocolate hazelnut shake topped off a great experience and workout at the gym!

The equipment is always looked after and overall cleanliness is 10/10! Negative experience: I want to start off with saying this gym has great facilities and equipment - however I was really disappointed with the staff and atmosphere. I came to train at this gym, travelling a fair distance to try it out. Several incidents happened which has made me not want to come again. Firstly, although the gym has a 10PM closing time at 10PM, the fans were turned off at 9:40 (making it extremely hot forcing us to leave) and the music was turned off at 9:45. This made me feel like the staff just wanted us to leave. Secondly, a female member of staff approached me rudely to put back my weights on a machine I had literally got off 30 seconds before and was on the one beside it - no problem but the manner she approached it was very rude. Looking around, plenty of machines had several plates stacked on it - so I was confused why this rule did not apply for all? She then also approached me at 10PM whilst in the car park shouting as she was walking towards my car to get out so they could lock up. I had my engine running and was sorting out my sat nav so I could get home. Again, not a problem as such but rudely approached. Overall, I feel too uncomfortable to go back to this gym. Staff could deal with these matters in a much more professional and polite manner. Sadly will not be training at this gym again which is a shame as there is huge potential for this to be a positive, enjoyable gym to train at.

Fantastic experience: Wow. Where do I start? I have been a member here almost since they opened so I would like to think this will be a comprehensive review (sadly have to find another gym due to moving). Simply the best training facility in the area and probably TOP 5 in the whole country. The owners always invest into this place which is rare even in big commercial gyms. Gym is always clean and You can often see cleaners and staff on the gym floor. Members put their weights and equipment back so You don't have to unload heavy machines etc. Staff is very polite, knowledgeable and always happy to help. If I had to pick one criticism I would say changing rooms/ showers need updating but I believe that is already on the agenda The first visit can be daunting, but that's the case most gyms especially if you're new to training, but don't let that put You off. Just smile and get stuck in. Once you're in the atmosphere will be amazing and You'll surprise Yourself with how much You will push yourself and how much more You will get out of your training sessions here, especially as this gym is often visited by athletes. After training there is plenty of healthy, freshly made meals or protein shakes. This place has changed & improved many lives and I am sure they will continue to do just that for years to come. Ripped Gym - You will certainly be missed

Negative experience: Did a day pass whilst in the area. Didn't like the atmosphere, saw a argument between 2 big guys next me to by the squat racks which got really heated. Staff weren't very friendly or helpful either.

Fantastic experience: I was always that overly anxious person about going to the gym. I had been known to have panic attacks about going and being judged. I have never once felt like that in Ripped Gym, Basildon. The atmosphere is always on point and everyone is also so helpful. I always look forward to going as I know seeing how hard everyone else is working makes you want to push yourself too. I have been self conscious of being that fat girl around alot of muscly men and women but I have always felt comfortable in ripped and not judged in the slightest.

Fantastic experience: Checked out Ripped Gym with a day pass to see what the hype was about. Gym This is one serious gym. HammerStrength machines everywhere, nice decor inside, the atmosphere is addictive. The clientele I witnessed are serious lifters and prosumers. This isn't your run of the mill PureGym crowd. Equipment Very good, professional equipment. Spacing could be a bit better but there are no problems. Dumbbells available with high weights. Parking If you come at the right time, there is ample parking. If no spaces are available, there is always street parking. This could be better, but it works. Ease of access Close to the A127 and also accessible from all other routes. The Burnt Mills Estate has a lot of commercial traffic - but that is expected anywhere in the South East of England. People Well, let's say the folks attending this gym are not mainstream. A lot of them physically look like the people you'd cross to the other side of the road for. Lots of neck tattoos, beards and hardcore attitudes. I can only imagine the amount of substances... The way members speak, drive or behave is not for the faint of heart. Not recommended for mainstream members. Other services They also have a kitchen, protein products, a waiting are with chairs, and so much more. Even lots of merchandise with branding. I recommend Ripped Gym for any serious lifters, your hobby will be so much better here. A fun place. Staff are very friendly.

Equipment gets fixed fairly fast and the gym is invested in. Worth a visit if you're touring or if you're serious about your training then worth a membership.

Fantastic experience: I have always worked in the fitness industry and always known that Ripped was local to me however I never really went because I have always trained where I work but today I went and I can honestly say what a place...the equipemnt is fantastic, the club is clean and friendly, I was greeted by a nice lady who was very helpful. I would recommend this club to anyone from novice to professional...great work guys
