Fantastic experience: I've been going to the gym for a couple of months now having previously been a member of one of the bigger chain gyms in Chesterfield. Now, I don't go to the gym to socialise personally. I'm a competitive powerlifter, so I like going in, doing my thing, and leaving. I couldn't do that at the gym I went to previously because I was constantly having to wait for equipment to free up. I've not had that problem once since changing over to this one. There is a decent range of equipment, both cardio and weight, as well as free weights. I've not used the shop myself but they do also sell a solid selection of supplements and protein powders. You won't get the benefit of 24/7 availability like on some of the bigger gyms but three days a week the gym is open from 6am till late, so should be open for the majority of the hours most people like to train. Adam, the owner, is a good lad and you can see that he's constantly working to improve bits and bobs in the gym to make it even better for members. And the membership is actually cheaper than at the chain gyms. If you're looking for somewhere less chaotic to train and to support your local small business owners, definitely consider giving Chester Street Gym a chance!

Negative experience: I am extremely dissatisfied. I cancelled my gym membership in october. It is policy to pay one additional month after cancellation and so I paid the additional month in November. In December I was charged and so I emailed the gym and was told that it was an error of the gym and that I would be refunded. I didn't receive a refund for a few days and so emailed them again. I was ignored. After a few emails I was responded to and told I had to contact clubwise to receive my refund. I phoned clubwise and was told multiple times that the refund had to come from the gym itself. I then phoned Chesterstreet gym and spoke to Adam who said they can't refund me it has to be clubwise... He said he'd be in contact with them the next day and sort it for me and then email me back. He did not email me. I have now sent 2 emails following up and been ignored. I find this shockingly unprofessional and want my money back. I need it. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I will be taking this further.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym, everything you need and not to busy. Especially for beginners or people with low confidence. Everyone is friendly. And Adam is a great PT, supportive and pushes you to do your best!

Fantastic experience: A great gym, with friendly welcoming staff who are always willing to give guidance or pointers if required. Plenty of equipment available even at busy times . Chester street gym is the first gym I’ve been a member of that I’ve actually seen improvement in my technique, strength and confidence. This has been made possible due to guidance of the staff and not feeling self conscious due to the positive attitudes of the members as well as the employees.

Fantastic experience: Really grateful to Chester Street gym for being such a welcoming and chilled out environment. As someone who is overweight and was anxious about getting into fitness, they've been really supportive about getting me settled, and more recently about helping me get back into things after taking time out with an injury. I enjoy every PT I have with Amy, who is really knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. I always leave feeling better in myself and about what I can achieve. Front desk staff and owner Adam are welcoming and make you feel at home, and the gym is never rammed, so I can always get access to the machines or weights I want to use. I've had an all around positive experience at Chester Street so if you're thinking about joining a gym in the local area, you should think about coming here

Fantastic experience: Called in last Tuesday 26th November 2019. Shown around by Adam, signed up on the spot! Sunday 1st December and 2019 was my induction day and Adam explained all the equipment and demonstrated it (it's been a long time since I've been in a Gym). Had a great first session focusing on chest work with Adam keeping an eye out and correcting my technique where necessary! Loved it, forgotten how much I love gym work, buzzing to get back on Tuesday! Great place, great music and great support! Get down there and join in!
