Positive experience: The weight equipment is beautiful and nostalgic, something straight up out of a Rocky film. That atmosphere along with the well maintained sauna and swimming pool are 21st Century Leisure's main selling points. Locker rooms are spacious and it has all the basics you could ever need in a gym and more. Unfortunately you only have to look up to see the problems the venue has. Panels that are dirty, rotting and sagging. There's even a hole in the backroom where you can see through to some moss covered overgrown windows. The running and rowing equipment is difficult to time yourself on and switch between intensity and there is no place to fill up a water bottle, other than one small low placed tap primarily used to have a quick slurp from- bottles don't fit underneath to fill up. Music choices are also cheesy pop tunes or just the radio, not music that pumps you up, but that is just a personal choice. Staff are friendly and professional. With some updated electronic equipment and roof renovation the gym could easily be a 5 star venue. For now, regrettably it's just a 3.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to join a gym for a long time but I don't like gyms where you feel watched and awkward. As soon as I walked in here I felt reassured that this one was different. Staff super friendly and helpful, other customers are so friendly always smiles and says hello, I feel very comfortable I don't feel silly when I don't really know what I'm doing there is always someone there to help u u don't feel judged, I absolutely love it thank you so much I'm so glad I found your gym I'm even coming on my own tomorrow and I wouldn't of ever gone a gym alone before xx

Fantastic experience: Great place and ideally situated for parking and to to take advantage of Westport Lake and the canal network. Staff and members friendly, professional and down to earth. I have used this facility on and off since the early 1980's and it's simply one of the best gyms in the area.
