Fantastic experience: I am away for work training and i came across this gym. Ive never used Puregym before and I can say i am fully convinced! I will be using this facility more during my trips away. Its clean and has great equipment. Great for all types of fitness levels including power lifters with some fantastic squat and deadlift racks in the center.

Negative experience: Not disabled friendly. I recently used this gym as a new wheelchair user, but unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of awful. From the moment I arrived, the disabled lift wasn’t working. When I entered the pin, the door wouldn’t open. I asked the only staff member downstairs for help, and his response was, “I’m with a client, can you ask the guy upstairs?” Thankfully, his client insisted he help me, and he eventually opened the lift using his own code. The lift itself is extremely difficult for a wheelchair user to operate alone, and I had to ask for help to get back down, as once again, my pin code didn’t work. To make matters worse, the toilet is upstairs, so I had to go through the whole process a second time. This gym is absolutely not accessible for disabled people—during unstaffed hours, a wheelchair user wouldn’t even be able to access the toilet! Other PTs helped me by using their own code to make the lift work but were laughing about the fact that it isn’t fit for purpose, as the door is so heavy that I couldn’t open it myself. They didn’t seem to understand why the lift wouldn’t work with my pin code. After this humiliating experience, my partner emailed head office. They responded by saying I needed an induction to use the lift, which I’m happy to do. However, when I contacted the Llantrisant branch to schedule an induction after 5pm (as I work 9-5), I was told it had to be before 4pm since managers aren’t available after 5pm. If I wanted a weekend induction, I’d have to wait for a distant future date. I’m really upset and embarrassed by this whole situation. This gym is far from accessible, and I wouldn’t recommend it to any disabled person. A truly terrible experience.

Negative experience: Visited puregym llantristant today with my partner in a wheelchair and was absolutely disgusted my the inaccessability of the gym and the cluelessness of the staff. Firstly we tried to use the disabled lift, when we entered the pin into the lift the door would not open. The clients then said no its fine go and help her so then he opened the door with his own code. The doors to the lift are then incredibly difficult to open for a wheelchair user on their own. We then had to get the staff to open the lift to get back down. My partner then had to use the toilet which is upstairs so we had to go through all this again. This gym is 100% not accessable, if it was during unstaffed hours a wheelchair user would not even be able to use the toilet! What an absolutely terrible experience for disabled people. This is not an accessible gym, definitly one to avoid if you have any accessibilty issues!

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area and very friendly staff.

Positive experience: Lovely gym, trainers are really friendly and welcoming. However feel the classes need to be looked at since new classes came in mid September there is a lack of personalisation and repetitive as you can end up doing the same class twice on different days as the instructors don't tell each other what class they are following in the app. Flyn, Meg and Cameron do provide a mix. Please can the new classes be looked at and variety added.

Fantastic experience: Modern, clean, well equipped gym. It’s got everything you need.

Fantastic experience: After numerous issues at the newport gym I vowed never to use puregym again. After moving to the Rhondda and biting the bullet, glad I did. Very well equipped. Go outside peak hours so can't comment on other reviews but I'm yet to have to wait for anything. Clean, organised and rarely for a puregym everyone re racks weights.

Negative experience: Decent gym to start training. Not the best "gym culture" compared to independent gym like you get in the area. Machines are dead basic and very limited would be an overstatement. When it's peak hours you'll be hanging around endlessly as there's a lack of equipment and space. This go for all PG's but PT often stand at desk near front, pretty disinterested, on their phones, not all but quite a few do. Good to start with, can get a good workout but once you hit that "intermediate" stage better off moving on.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Love Gary's LBT and Bodytone classes.

Fantastic experience: A great gym at an affordable price. Nice mix of people all ages and all shapes and sizes. Good range of equipment and good choice of classes. Very accessible.

Positive experience: Pretty nice gym to go to. A good mix of people makes it really welcoming. Can get a bit hectic when busy, but generally it's a great gym to go to, and you usually don't have to wait long to use the machines you want. The Llantrisant parking situation is always terrible, but can't fault the gym for that!

Fantastic experience: All the trainers at pure are amazing! I’ve not felt part of a gym community before until I came to Pure! Damo’s pump class was brilliant today. He’s very supportive. Ieuan is always there with a smile on his face Megan is always happy to help. Ivy’s a little pocket rocket ( I don’t know where she gets her energy from )

Fantastic experience: Pure gym Llantrisant is clean, friendly and supportive. I’ve so far enjoyed classes from both Damo and Ivy. Both have been very supportive and helpful. Best gym and community I have been part of for many years.

Fantastic experience: Since PureGym Llantrisant has opened I’ve been most days and have tried a variety of classes. Damon especially is a brilliant coach, and provides the sort of classes that I’ve been used to in the past. High energy, challenging and so much fun! I leave feeling so glad that I turned up. Personally I feel the sweat and strength 30 classes could be made 45 mins. I personally would prefer that. All the classes done in the functional area have been very good, and it would be great to see more, especially bootcamps. Small group strength and conditioning would also be a great addition, incorporating a WOD at the end maybe! So far so good PureGym!

Positive experience: Second time doing LBT with Damon.. five days afterwards and I was still feeling it the first time! Let's see how the second recovery period goes brilliant class but only improvement I would suggest is more time on cool downs and stretches, especially considering how much we've just put our bodies through!

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym! So supportive and always willing to help! Had classes with Ivy, Megan and Ieaun and they've been superb! Never found a gym like it :)

Negative experience: I joined this gym based on being a member at a number of other puregyms over the years, this gym isn’t like the others and I’m a bit disappointed having joined and paid a joining fee based on previous facilities. First of all this is a very small gym and parking is an issue as Talbot Green gets very busy, the range of cardio equipment is poor to non existent, 6 treadmills (1 broken) and some spinning bikes. There’s no weights machines, it’s all free weights and benches etc, no great if you wanted to start simple and progress to free weights. The unit directly next door to the gym is empty and I hope they extend into it
