Fantastic experience: I hate exercise, really hate it, plus I don’t get that endorphin rush EVER! I have bad knees but want to reduce the pain when moving and 2 young grandsons to keep up with, so this was my motivation. So I signed up with Tom, I was doubtful that this would work though but Tom proved me wrong. Tom explains his methods very clearly and you progress step by step. His methods are a bit different as he strengthens your muscles with movements that you naturally do. His methods are not your standard weights machine from a generic gym, doing the same static movements over and over. Every session is different, so it is definitely not boring. If something hurts, he adjusts the exercise and every session starts with the question “how are you doing after the last session?” So he is constantly aware of anything he needs to be mindful of. 3 months on and my knees are so much better, so much so that I was 45mins into my PT session this morning before I realised my knees weren’t sore/achy at all! I still don’t like exercise, but Tom has been amazing and has kept me motivated to continue. I am very pleased with my progress! Thank you so much Tom!
Fantastic experience: I recently had the opportunity to chat with a personal trainer Tom, and I wanted to take a moment to share my experience. Although I ultimately decided not to pursue personal training due to personal reasons, my interaction with this trainer left a lasting impression. From the very beginning, Tom greeted me with warmth and genuine friendliness. He listened attentively as I shared my goals and concerns, and throughout our conversation, he provided a great deal of support and encouragement. Despite not moving forward with personal training, he treated me with the utmost professionalism and understanding. What truly impressed me was his willingness to go above and beyond. He kindly offered refunds for the sessions I hadn't used, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. This level of honesty and integrity is a testament to their dedication in ensuring the satisfaction of their clients. I highly commend this personal trainer for their exceptional customer service and empathetic approach. Even though I didn't proceed with personal training, I can confidently say that anyone who chooses to work with him and his team will be in excellent hands. Their friendly demeanor, supportive attitude, and commitment to client satisfaction make them a true asset to the fitness center. Thank you once again for the positive experience, and I wish you all continued success in your personal training journey.
Fantastic experience: I have been training with ProTom Fitness for three months now and I absolutely love it. The workouts are varied and challenging. I feel so much stronger in just 12 weeks. Tom and Dominic are great trainers with a real passion to help you reach your goals whilst making sure you are safe and happy

Fantastic experience: I felt really at ease at my session as Tom is clear, genuine and encouraging. After one session I got the sense that I will be able to train well here but also learn how to improve technique. These guys are the real deal!

Fantastic experience: I had a self-defence class with Tom recently and I cannot recommend him enough! It was very well informed and I felt I learnt a lot. I throughly enjoyed the session and I feel a lot more confident now ! Thank you Tom :)

We hope we will train you again in the future :) You have been so natural with all the martial art based movements and you managed all the punches and kicks with good technique and good power :) I know we have been focusing more of the self defence side of things but all the still, under a short period of time you did gain a lot :) I hope you never need to use these skills for self defence, but you will be fine for sure :) Tom and the ProTom Fitness Team
Fantastic experience: The group Muaythai kick boxing is great. The trainers are a lot of fun, and the sessions really push you at your own individual ability. I've reccomended this class to a few of my friends and they love it. Its fitness but it's fun, and it makes you feel great!

Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my trial session with Tom, he had his own unique style which made the work out really enjoyable. Tom pays a lot of attention to your technique adjusting and correcting where necessary to ensure you are doing it without strain. i've had personal trainers before but i highly recommend ProTom Fitness.
Fantastic experience: Incredibly friendly trainers made me feel at ease from the very first session. Had a great time during the 8 months of weekly training with them. Tom and Dominic are really friendly, personable guys and even after the hardest sessions it was always an enjoyable experience. Can't mark ProTom fitness highly enough!

Fantastic experience: I decided to book up PT sessions with Tom after committing to a 26 mile charity hike. I had been regaining fitness after major surgery when I sprained my ankle (grade 3) requiring surgery so when able, decided it was time to seek professional support to get back into the swing of things. In our first session Tom assessed my strengths and weaknesses and quickly identified some issues created over the previous year while I’d been unable to walk, we both agreed to move forward with a plan which was intended to help bring the balance back, and fast forward 3 months I have seen great improvement in my overall fitness, a decrease in muscle fatigue and I’m up to 8 mile in my hike training, pretty significant when you consider in December I could barely walk for 20 minutes without being in agony. Most of all Tom has seen me through the journey so far with just the right balance between compassion and motivation.
Fantastic experience: Having had a fractured coccyx as a result of being smashed off my bike 19 months ago I still had continuous back pain, a recent MRI scan revealed that I had also fractured a lumber vertebrae. At 66 years of age I knew that I needed to do something radical to reduce the pain and improve the core strength of my back, as with ageing, it was only going to get worse. Someone recommended Tom, and this turned out to be an excellent move. He looked at my MRI scan and read the radiologist's report before deciding how to build my core strength. I had 13 one-hour early morning sessions with both Tom and his colleague Illdi. While it was hard work, I began to notice the benefits very quickly. Normally when cycling up Park Street in Bristol I have to get off about three-quarters of the way up. After only four sessions with Tom I flew up it without any extra effort - he had already strengthened my back in a very short time. When I drive a car, any kind of cornering gives me acute lower back pain and I would brace my arm rigidly against the door to reduce the pain. But using Tom's techniques and with the new strength of my core muscles, all I had to do was suck in my tummy button to tighten my stomach muscles and I could go round any corner without pain. Did not need to use my elbows or the car to brace against the pain, however sharp the corner was. I am still enjoying the benefits of increased strength and massively reduced lower back pain - why didn't the physiotherapist recommend this kind of training? I now have to continue the good work now I am away from Bristol. I found that Tom was not only courteous and patient with me, but was able to push me to go beyond my usual ‘wimpish’ limits. I enjoyed every single session and am sorry I cannot continue them!
Fantastic experience: I've been training with Tom Lakos at Longwell Green now for about 5 months. He is a very knowledgable trainer. A big thing for me was I used to get lower back pain regularly and would see a physio every couple of months to sort out it. I've not had to see a physio since I started training with Tom, I believe this is down to the core fitness methods he teaches. Highly recommended.
Negative experience: Booked a class at Longwell green... no signage to venue from the street at all. All I could find was a gym with a locked door and non working doorbell. I rang the number on toms website to ask how to find the venue and the person who answered had no idea where it was or how to get to it other than telling me it was "in Longwell Green" which is about a 3 mile radius. Shameeeeee. Don't go unless you are with someone who has been before! Waiting for a refund of my money.
Fantastic experience: The Thai kick boxing class has been great fun. Our trainer Tom is extremely knowledgable, he puts on a great hour and a half session where we learn proper punching and kicking technique, as well as being put through a serious workout! Me and my friends who joined at the same time all look forward to working with Tom and progressing in 2017.
Fantastic experience: This is a really enjoyable session, which concentrates on both the technique of Thai kickboxing and also the fitness elements that come with personal training. Tom is a fantastic coach who clearly has a passion to teach and meet fitness goals.
Fantastic experience: I've been training with Tom now for four months and cannot recommend ProTom fitness more highly. A dizzying combination of under confidence, a difficult knee issue and trying personal circumstances, conspired to make me a challenging client. Four months later, with the help of Tom's expertise and watchful eye, I have gained much needed self esteem, been discharged from my physiotherapy department (after four years of going around in circles) and have developed physical and emotional resilience that comes from regular exercise. The icing on the cake is that I can now fit into dresses which I had long given up on and am the slimmest I've been in over a year! Thanks Tom and the ProTom trainers, it's been worth every penny.
Fantastic experience: I have been training with ProTom Fitness for a couple of months and it has been worth every penny. I didn't do much in the way of weights or strength training before I met Tom but in a short space of training with him, I have built noticeable muscles where I didn't have any before and have learnt so much about how my body works and what's right for me. I really enjoy my sessions and Tom always pushes me more than I probably would if I was training on my own (but in a friendly and positive way!) - very well recommended!!!
Fantastic experience: I chose ProTom Fitness because of the friendly nature of the owner, Tom Lakos. His approach to my fitness needs has helped me develop confidence and also reach my goals in a very short space of time. Thanks to ProTom Fitness and the personal training I received through the instructors, I am now exceeding the expectations I had set myself and am very happy. Fantastic experience: I genuinely can't speak higher of ProTom Fitness, and ProTom Fitness Personal training. I have played a high level of sport for many years (and been a regular gym user) but wanted to find someone to push me the extra step, and enhance both fitness ability and technique. I could never have predicted the huge changes for the better ProTom fitness and his personal traning methods have introduced. He has transformed the way I train, view technique, and pro-actively prepare my body for sport. Gone are the days of lifting weigh aimlessly, or pounding treadmills 'thinking' I am fit, instead this has been replaced with focussed core work, and tailored bespoke balance, power and fitness programmes for my sport. After 3 months I feel a total transformation in my stamina, strength, and preparation - and years of terrible Gym practice is being eroded away. ProTom Fitness (and all the trainers that work there) are astute, informative, driven and challenging in every positve way - and i'm convinced will make a difference to you, whether looking for general fitness, weight loss, or to prepare yourself for elite sport. In my book, ProTom Fitness and personal training is the best in the business, and I'd wholeheartedly recomend to let them change your fitness for the better like they have for me..
Positive experience: I like it . It's fun and gets you fit. I'm 14 and I was surprise when I tried this out as I though they didn't accept younger people at my age. My trainer Tom really helps me out in my lessons and has improved my technique massively.
Fantastic experience: I have been training with Tom and Peter in both personal training and group sessions for three months, with noticeable results. The sessions work the whole body, are always different, and challenging but fun. Both Tom and Peter focus on right form, even in the group sessions, such that I never had the back pain I used to have after group sessions in other gyms. I’d highly recommended ProTom!
