Anytime Fitness Birmingham (Hagley Road)

Negative experience: Very unhelpful staff

Positive experience: Treadmills in short supply! Spend my mornings waiting for a machine, zero aircon in the mornings, runners beware.. its actually warm! Not to mention treadmills deciding to stop dead and update 30 seconds from the end of a 12km fast run! Lost all my numbers again! Last time this happened i ended up badly injured and out of training for 8 months with 6 months rehabilitation (different gym). LD Runners bring your own fan or pay the price. Good lay out, lots of kit for a compact gym, great staff and friendly, also clean. Surprise £35 for a key fob needs amending. Good local gym. Overall I like it here barring the above mentioned issues.

Fantastic experience: Welcomed into the gym for a single training session whilst away with work. Friendly, bubbly, helpful staff especially the manager Oran he was brilliant! Amazing facilities at the gym Brilliant kit 10/10 would recommend, best gym I’ve ever been to!

Positive experience: Open 24 hours a day, never too busy and shower facilities are great. If they had proper punch bags it would be five stars. I would break the system and give them six stars if they had a fighters octagon

Fantastic experience: I have been at anytime for 3 months now and have been absolutely loving it. The guys are really friendly and helpful. I got 3 free consultations when I joined which was really helpful as I was a total beginner. Josh ran the sessions and put me at ease with no judgment on my knowledge or fitness levels. On a personal note I suffered with social anxiety and felt especially embarrassed when working out. The guys have been so welcoming and accepting that I really feel like I’ve got my confidence back. The gym itself isn’t huge which suits me as I find larger gyms quite intimidating. It has everything you would need for any type of work out. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Positive experience: It’s generally a nice gym I only wish some of the ceiling tiles in the women’s area weren’t so old, and some ac wouldn’t hurt, the sauna not working currently is disappointing but generally for the price it’s a good gym in a good location with a great range of classes and equipment

Fantastic experience: Well maintained equipment. Clean locker rooms. Quick to reply to emails and phone calls. Conveniently located with plenty of parking space. Free fruit Friday is always something to look forward to! Could do with a better Roman chair for back exercises. The current one seems to be really tiny and a bit flimsy.

I really enjoyed my boxercise class with Josh I learned new things, he also helped with my fitness plan for my goal. Thank you.so much. Everywhere is very clean. Gemma and Aron were always very helpful with my enquiries. I highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've been to in 2 years of training. The people there are just as good as the facilities! Have to shout out my man Amar, who using his dominant personality, and masculine aura made me bench my 1RM for 8 reps ! What a lad.

Fantastic experience: Apart from finding a bench when u need it lol, everything is pretty good including staff such as Amar who was a great help, made everything super easy and was very welcoming and comfortable to conversate with, never felt like I was out of place.

Fantastic experience: I have trained here now for 6 months, and simply put, its great! They have everything you need to do whatever - the free-weights (3 deadlift platforms, amazing) are great, the cardio machines and floor space is good too. The facilities are always clean, and honestly the staff are the friendliest gym staff ive met. Always say hello and happy to help. The monthly competitions they run are good fun also. And on top of it all, having access to any other anytime fitness is a great bonus. I would highly recommend!

The classes are great (particular the boxing and spin) and the staff are always welcoming and helpful. Good for those with accessible needs also as it’s all on one floor. I’ve really never been to a gym which has such a friendly feel.

Boot Camp in the summer holidays on a Wednesday is great and I highly recommend staff are always pleasant and available to if needed. Classes I have yet to try but I know there's a great choice to choose from. I'd definitely recommend this gym for all ages as there's a mix of people. iv been going there since it opened and I'm pleased with it.

Positive experience: Clean, and decently equipped but too small and expensive for the amount it is growing in popularity. The membership contract is pretty old-fashioned big corp nonsense. No idea where the female staff members went; its just three men there now if that bothers you. Pretty mid gym

If i didn't have the advice and recommendations from Damion i don't think i would be seeing this progress by myself. Positive experience: New club, and brand new equipment for most workouts. Not the cleanest. After staffed hours loads of people come in without memberships with one person letting a few people in. In the evenings the car parking is unsafe. Not going to come back here.

Fantastic experience: Oran originally was the one to show me around the gym and sign me up he was so welcoming,polite and made me feel at ease lovely person. Gary completed my plan of workouts after speaking with me regarding injuries I've had and operations so he has tailored the plan to my requirements. Gary was again very welcoming and made me feel comfortable by showing me around the equipment and how to use these it was daunting at first but the team are so good at the gym I felt alot better thank you to Oran and Gary for making me feel better about going to a gym after 10 years of not going.

Positive experience: Positive: Not crowded, clean & generally good crowd. Negative: Severely lacks equipments, which can be a sticking point when it comes to getting value out of the gym & train effectively.

Fantastic experience: I was pleasantly surprised when I used this gym on a recent visit to Birmingham. It is very clean and spacious, lots of great facilities, including showers, hairdryers, and even hair straighteners. A good variety of equipment and all very accessible on one level. Will certainly be back if I am visiting Birmingham again.

It’s squeaky clean, the staff are super helpful and friendly and the equipment is high quality. Has all the features you would expect with a modern anytime fitness but for me I found the staff to be so helpful and welcoming. One of the things I hate about gyms is how busy they get and how you have to wait around for machines but never had that problem here! Definitely recommend!!
