Fantastic experience: Started training here in 2017 and I love this place! I travel for work nationally, using other gyms, hotels, independents and chains, and not one has come close to the quality or range of equipment and holistic gym experience. Machines focus on function and not on gimmicks, unlike the ones found in commercial gyms with those annoyingly artificial rep counter guides. As a female, I have never felt creeped out or judged at Strength Asylum, unlike other gyms I’ve had to train at. You also don’t need to look a certain way to feel comfortable, as there are so many different member types, each smashing their own goals, all of who are different shapes and sizes. Wherever you are at in your journey, you will fit in, as long as you take the scariest step of walking in through the front door! The staff team are amazing, helpful and respectful, being a member is more like being part of a community. The only drawback is that this gym has completely spoiled me, which means I couldn’t bring myself to join a gym which is closer to my home. I’m quite literally an ‘inmate for life’

Fantastic experience: Outstanding gym, I’ve trained here for just under a decade. Defo the best bodybuilding gym in the area. Constant equipment maintenance, plates always put back, new equipment on the regular. Staff are sound and have always made me feel welcome. Even had the chance to meet the best bodybuilders in the sport with the seminars they hold

Fantastic experience: Best gym in Stoke, likely best gym in UK. Has a variety of equipment but is definitely focused on hard-core bodybuilders and strength athletes, not for your zumba classes, posers, and casuals, but very accepting of beginners and visitors. Staff are outstanding, shakes, coffees, protein bars, and supplements are all available, and you can even have lunch here.

Fantastic experience: Visited the gym today with my powerlifting group, what a great place. The staff and members were so lovely, friendly and chatty. The equipment was fantastic, (some of it I’ve never seen before) we all had a great time, definitely worth the 2hr round trip, we can’t wait to visit again and wish it was closer

Fantastic experience: I've always gone commercial gyms and found them very underwhelming, however when I moved house I switched from exercise4less to pure gym, and found it to be just another commercial gym. I eventually got introduced to strength and I've been there for a year and what's can't praise it enough. The staff are always willing to help when you need them and the gym goers are all in it for the long run. To put the experience into perspective, I had a fellow gym goer giving me advise on how I could improve my technique which really meant a lot. I 100% recommend this gym if you're looking for a solid gym that feels like a family

Fantastic experience: This gym is so so good. My second visit. Hammer strength kit fits me and works the muscles you want, so many machines, loved every one I used. Such friendly staff and gym goers. Great choice in the shop and good prices. If you are serious about your gym and getting bigger then this is the place, clean tidy, great music. Only fault is they need to move it closer to where I live so I can get more often. Maybe I should move to Stoke. I will be back.

Your first impression will be that it's a gym full of meat heads who will judge you for not being able to lift like them, but the truth is the opposite. Every single person I have interacted with there has been so nice, they are encouraging and so welcoming. People of all shapes and sizes go to this gym and you will not be judged, just welcomed.

Fantastic experience: Best gym I've ever been to amazing to see all the signatures of famous faces that have passed through and the amount of hammer strength kit is mind blowing def going to have to make the hour long trip for a nasty leg day soon

Negative experience: If you require the assistance of a personal trainer I would give Luke a widebirth. Not only did I have to continually text and call him, speak to the owner of the gym, even after he had promised to call me again, when he did he was more interested in selling me parts of a plan I didn't require or could afford. Obviously everyone needs to make a living, but I found him dismissive, uninterested and a nightmare to contact. I've been very unwell for 6 years now and have gained weight and lost my endurance and stability, so reaching out took courage, and this was not the kind of experience I needed. I will however not give up . I can't say anything about the gym as I haven't been myself, but Andy ,the owner, was very helpful over the phone and prompted Luke to call me.
